Father's Day wallet cards

Hallo,
I started on my Father's Day cards over the holiday weekend. I managed to finish up 3 of them today (I am making a total of about 15 - cause I send not just to my Step-Dad but friends of ours who happen to be Dads too). (Both mine and DH's Dads are no longer with us)
This is a wallet card that I found the pattern for on SCS. I thought this Cuttlebug folder would make it look like snakeskin or fancy leather. I used the Cuttlebug Smoosh technique from Technique Junkies - ie brayered ink on the inside of the cuttlebug folder and then run it through the cuttlebug with the paper. I used manly looking brads for accents - the accual closure device is small round velcro spots (found in the sewing notions area of JoAnn's).
The first picture is gray paper with green distress ink. The second is gray paper with ginger adirondak ink and shows the inside. The third picture is green paper with the ginger ink.
The last picture for the day was what I got in the mail today - my advance copy of the June/July Stamplers Sampler. This is my first time getting published - I sent 3 batches of cards at the same time (one to Stamplers Sampler and 2 to Take Ten) - these were my first attempts at getting published so am really doing the Happy Dance!!! (And I am confident that my advance copy of Take Ten will come tomorrow - LOL - hey sometimes wishes DO come true :).
My card is the top right-hand one on page 48.
All for today - I work the next 2 days so hope to get some craft time on friday....
Take Care

Sunday Purple

Hallo,
Short note with a card today - I need to get some yard work done before it gets much hotter - 80% humidity and already 80 degrees....summer in Florida.
I did this card for Gina K's release challenge last week using her Kindred Spirit 'Racheal' - I really like this stamp although MY frig is much more crowded than this one LOL.
I am hoping to get a couple hours at the craft table today - gotta get Father's Day cards done!!!
Hope you are having a good weekend!!!

Awards Night

Hallo,
A couple photos for the family from the Middle School Awards night. The first is DD with her art awards and pictures - only the top left one isn't hers.
The second photo as you may notice is of a reluctant DS - not only did he not want his pic taken but didn't want to stand next to "her".
Aarrrgggg.
They both won several awards.
The last 2 photos are of a card I made for this weeks release from Gina K, done with Gina K's kindred spirit 'Rachel'. Tis one was done in 70's colors - prismacolor pencils...
All for now - time to get in the pool with the kids!!!
Have A Great Weekend!!!

Seaside Cottage

Hallo,
Worked again today - I love being able to prepost like this cause I am usually too tired to when I get home from my 12 hour (plus) days...
This is a plain glass vase that I found at a garage sale. I stamped the seashells and the clouds in white staz on and on the sides and back are trees stamped with loive green and saddle brown staz on. The clouds are from an old SU set and the trees are from 'Alexstamping' .
I added some decorative rock and a little cottage house I found at a thrift store.
Tomorrow I hope to have some pics from the Middle School awards night - both my kiddos recieved awards.
All for now - if you like any of the vases they are available on my etsy site http://stampqueen.etsy.com/

I have for you today another vase - I have about 6 more left to do..... This was a thrift store find and was plain blue, I stamped on it with staz on white - the dragonfly is from 'Stamp Zia' but the rest I don't know - if I can ever get time I will go through the huge list of companys I have saved on my favorite list and see if I can find them....
3 of the six sides are stamped with the oriental script.
All for now - my ol mutt is whining at the window to go for a walk....

Green oriental Vase

Hallo,
Worked today so short post with another vase - Found this little green vase plain at the thrift store, its about 4 inches high. I used staz on olive green and again I am unsure who makes these stamps - pregallery, preblog days...
2 sides are stamped with oriental writing, one side with the cherry blossum vase and one side with bamboo. I filled it with reddish brown rocks and silk bamboo stalks.
The side with the cherry blossum vase I stamped the oriental writing on it and then wiped most of it off to give it a backround faded sort of look.
If you really like any of these vases (an accually many things I post) then check out my Etsy shop http://www.stampqueen.etsy.com/ .
All for tonight

Black Pagoda Vase

Hallo,
I got a little time at the craft table today - I am on a vase kick as you will see over the next couple days - I really do have to quit going to thrift shops and garage sales, my pile of things to alter is really out of hand!!!!!! I want to start using them up a little so I hope you don't mind the altered stuff for awhile. I couldn't resist doing another oriental vase like the previous one - this time the pagoda is black, the oriental writing is white and the bamboo is green (it is really hard to see - couldn't get a good photo). All the stamps are unknown except the pagoda and I think it is 'Another Stamp Company' - these are some stamps I got several years ago - way before I had a gallery anywhere much less a blog...
All for today - the kids are in the pool and I am fixin to join them :)

My Favorite Animals ATC

Hallo,
Sorry it has been so long - I worked 4 of the last 5 days and spent my one day off running errands and coaxing my sewing machine into helping me make some scrub tops for work - at least we haven't been fighting this time, we are finally learning to get along (my sewing machine and I that is....)
I will finish off the work tops today and maybe get to the craft table tomorrow as I have a couple errands to run too.
Todays pics are of an ATC I did for a swap with the "Twisted Chick" http://twisted-chick.blogspot.comMichelle - it was an 'animal' swap this time. I had a hard time choosing because I literally have a boatload of animals and birds ....but I had just gotten this set from MFT recently so I decided to use that - easy decision, play with the NEW rubba :) . The ATC has 2 layers - the first layer is the fence (unknown) overstamped with 'woodgrain backrounder from CHF http://cornishheritagefarms.com/ . I used and eyelet and some raffia for the gate tie.
The second layer is the horse on the left and a cow and chicken on the right. I made my horse an Appaloosa of course - one of my favorite breeds of horses.
Behind the horse is the pig and a little chick and behind the cow are more chickens. The back is woodgrain backrounder again in red on gray to resemble a barn and an ol orange barn cat of course.
All for today - better get rollin....

Oriental Vase

Hallo,
I have sewing to do today so I am posting this early so I can get rollin - I got my DD's curtains done and we even had enough material left to make 2 pillow cases which she was happy about - and I let her do it (with some coaching). This was her first time sewing and she did pretty good - I plan to try and teach her more this summer....
I have to try and get the curtain rod up today too...
I did this vase yesterday from the ones I found at the garage sale this last weekend. I stamped the oriental buildings in red staz on, the bamboo on the back is in white staz on, and the oriental script was stamped in versamark and gold embossed. I then added some river rock and some sprigs of fake bamboo. I plan to do another one or 2 of these - but the next one the oriental buildings will be in black.
I don't do this too much but will today - I have put a BUNCH of things on sale on my Etsy site if anyone is interested - I have also listed this vase and the other one I did during the CHF backrounders challenge week.
Have a good day - I am off to hang out laundry and attempt to hang a curtain rod, then to the sewing machine....wish me luck!!! :)

Breadbox

Hallo,
I finally got my breadbox finished - all the images are colored with prismacolor pencils and in spots blended with OMS.
The seagulls are from CHF http://cornishheritagefarms.com/
The lighthouse and the house on the beach are from Stamps Happen and the beach chair scene is from Inkadinkado.
The first picture is the front, second is a close up of the gulls, third is the top and the fourth picture is the left side. On the right side I put more seagulls.
Well short post today - going to try and dig out my sewing machine and finally do the curtains for DD's room today (and then tomorrow some scrub tops for work for me - hopefully) - knowing me and sewing I had better get to it or I will run out of time LOL !!!
I will see you tomorrow

Cactus flowers

Hallo,
I haven't been to the craft table yet today but am headed there soon!!!!
I may not have to cancel my cruise in October!!!! Cross your fingers for me!!! My Mom had an idea of someone who could watch the kids for us while we went so will try and call them today!!!
After lunch we stopped at Old Time Pottery on our way home (so I didn't have to waste gas making another trip tomorrow....) and then I called my Mom - my brothers, sister and their kids are all getting together tonight at Mom's so will have to call them again later - my one brother lives in Wyoming and the other is right across the road from Mom, my sister lives about 40 minutes away...times like this makes me wish we lived alot closer to home.....but then I would have to put up with snow, blizzards, and cold in the winter and no beach to play on in the summer so.....
Todays pics are of the cactus that is blooming right by the pool - it sits on a shelf that is level with the pool edge (I also use it to put my goggles and watch when I am in the pool and the shelf below is for the floaties and foam tubes and pool toys....
All for today - got a phone call to make and the craft table to get to...
Happy Mother's Day!!!
