God's Shadow

Hallo,
Errands done, dog walked, some house cleaning done.....'Stampin' Time!!!!!
I finished this one up last week as I was doing alot of coloring for this weeks challenge at CHF. I finished off 3 projects but could only submit one.
I had a hard time choosing which one would be the one I submitted - I had to ask everyone's opinion - my stamping buddies Pat (aka Cheif Enabler/enablee) and Fran, asked me DD and DS, asked my Mom, even asked the DH.....
Anyway all the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms - main image is from the Thomas Kinkade collection and the others are from the 'Ornamental Beauty' set.
You can find these great stamps and info about the Design Challenges going on over at CHF here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com

The main image is colored with prismacolor pencils.
I also used some chipboard pieces, some old ribbon, glimmer mist, and brads....
All for now - have to get working on the next 2 challenges as we are going on vacation next week and I want to have them all ready in my laptop to 'load and go'

Friendship Woods

Hallo,
These photos today are of my entry for this weeks challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms. By entering you can win stamps or even a Guest Designer Spot - Need to know more? - go here - http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/
for more info on the Design Challenges. Or just pop in to see all the good stuff eveeryone is doing in the gallerys.
The stamps used in this framed picture are - 'Friendship Cottage' from the Thomas Kinkade line, 'trees backrounder' and the Serenity Prayer and all are from Cornish Heritage Farms. So now you have 3 great reasons to pop over to CHF!!!
The main image was colored with prismacolor pencils. The backrounder was stamped onto green patterned scrapbook paper, and the saying was stamped onto torn velum.
I almost left this image as you see it in these first pictures as a 5x7 but the more I looked at it the more I realized it NEEDED to be bigger - so I matted it onto dark green mattboard and framed it. Just keep looking - its the last picture....

In other news - the painting I had planned on finishing in my DS's room last friday got postponed until today because my DH was able to take friday off so they started laying tile instead. While I worked all weekend they finished off tile so today my DS and I have finished off the painting and done a bit of clean up. Tonight the DH will finish putting the trim back on and assist DS to get the big furniture back into his room.
That means that tomorrow (after a couple errands, a walk with my pooch, and a couple house chores ...) I should get some good stamping time in while DS finishes off putting things back together in his room!!!
All for today - I have a little stampin' time left this afternoon :)

Finished Serenity

Hallo,
I know you have seen this one before - sort of....The more I looked at it as a 5X7 the more I thought it needed something more and wasn't finished....
So I found some matt board in my stash and finished it off - it is now 8X10 size and I took a picture of it in a frame just to get the idea....When I take things like this to craft fairs I take them unframed so people can frame them to match their decor...
All the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarmds.com
The main image is colored with prismacolor pencils.

All for today - I didn't get as much done as I wanted too - tired and lazy today and I did spend a little extra time this am sitting on the couch snuggling with my sweet old cat (she is 18 years old and in the last few days she has had several episodes where she was paralyzed on one side and couldn't walk - short lasting and she pops right back to her normal self ...but its an ominous sign I am afraid).
I work the weekend so I guess I will see you on Monday - Have great weekend. My DH and DS started laying tile in DS's bedroom today and will finish it off this weekend.
DD is still up at Grandma's they are over half done with her quilt. She is helping her cousin babysit younger siblings tonight so I probably won't talk to her tonight... :( Poor Mom....

Happy Bluebird

Hallo,
Preposting this for ya for tuesday as I expect the DS and I will still be working on his room.
This stamp is from Stamps Happen and you can find him here - www.janlynn.com
I colored him blue this time - you may remember the red one from last week sometime.
I like him as a bluebird and I am thinking I may have to try him as a robin - we'll see when I get to it....
He is colored in with my copics and the backround layer is called 'veined marble technique' from Technique Junkies which you can learn more about here - www.patstamps.com
All for today - hope to tak a little time to stamp today so I have stuff to show you the next 2 days while I have at work.....

Serenity Lighthouse

Hallo,
I told you on friday to chaeck back to day for a better rendition of this Thomas Kinkade Lighthouse stamp and here it is. I wasn't completely ahppy with this one either but I like it much better than the one on friday.
I colored this with my prismacolor pencils which usually turns out pretty well for me - the part I have trouble with the most on this particular image is the clouds. The origional painting has the clouds all orangey/blue/gray which is what I was trying for in fridays failed copic attempt....so today I tried for just a touch of oranges and yellows and did the rest in blues and grays - which to me seems to blend in with the water too much...

Then I tried for some sunshine steaks with the spica glitte pen but don't like how that turned out at all.
Over all I like how this turned out - it is 5X7 mounted on heavy chipboard so it can be used in a picture frame.
Both of the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
I really love the Thomas Kinkade line of stamps - very fun to color, but yet look great stamped monochromatic also.
I have been hybernating in the house here alot lately - yesterday am when the DH and I went to go for a walk it was 81 degrees and 93% humidity at 7am - with heat indexes by 10am of about 110 degrees.

All for today - trying to get more stamping done and starting another project. My DS and I are going to start painting his bedroom today - he packed up all his stuff and moved it out of the room over the last few days so we are headed off to get paint and get to painting.....wish me luck!!!!

Serenity Lighthouse

Hallo,
Remember yesterday when I said that I needed some more practice with my copics whne it comes to detailed images - well here's proof LOL.
Although I wasn't happy with how the coloring turned out, I didn't want to waste the effort of over an hour and 1/2 of coloring sooo....
The Lighthouse stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms - Thomas Kinkade collection and you can find it as well as the Serenity Prayer here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com.

The folks at CHF also have a great gallery so you can see some much better examples of coloring this image there too - or you can wait until monday I think and stop by my little blog again where I will show you this image again - this time colored with my prismacolor pencils which I seem to have better luck with when it comes to these beautiful Kinkades.
All for today - Take Care

Friendship Cardinal

Hallo,
As I am hybernating inside today I managed to finish off a couple cards and one picture made for a 5X7 frame. I colored this and one other image while watching TV on the couch last night and put them together today.
It is waaaayyy too hot out for me today - had planned on doing some yard work but when I got back from my walk (at 7am mind you) I had sweat dripping off eyebrows and earlobes so I decided that even the weeds wouldn't grow THAT much in this heat....

This pretty cardinal is from Stamps Happen and you can find him and alot more great stamps and craft items here - www.janlynn.com. AND they are even having a sale this month so go check them out.
I colored him in with my copics - I am loving my copics for images like this - still need to practice on the more detailed images (as you will see tomorrow).
The phrase is from Cornish Heritage Farms - 'Friendship Centers' and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
And yes I managed to get the phrase just a smidge crocked.....
All for today as I want to get preposted for ya for the next couple as I work the next 2 days - and I plan to take DS to the pool out on base today so he can do laps (he wants to stay 'up' for swim team this year...)

Purple Cruisin

Hallo,

Another Hanna card for you today....I love this Motorcycle Hanna.

My DH's Harley is purple so I went with that today. Most of the bike is colored with spica glitter pens - silver, black and purple - as well as Hanna's gloves, boots and helmut. The rest is colored with copics.

I had a thin purple ribbon that I decided to use but once I got it taped down it was just too bright and didn't match so guess what I did - I took one of my light gray copics and colored over it and it toned it down so it matched just right - cool!!!

I did this card for the Guest Design Team call for Hanna Stamps - you can find the info here - www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440356

The stamps is of course from Hanna Stamps - www.hannastamps.com
All for today!!!!

Cruisin Hanna

Hallo,

Well it took half the day but I got my DD safely off to Nebraska to spend some time with - mostly Grandma but a few days here and there with Aunts and cousins too. I am still waiting on the final call to confirm official pick up - she called me when they landed but had to get off the plane yet.....

Our day started at 4am to get to the airport early for a 6am flight which after 20 minutes waiting in line they announced that it had been cancelled...another 30/40 minutes to have them get her on a later flight and we went back home for a couple hours.....Boy did it feel weird to send her off by herself, even if she was being escorted by airline personel!!!!

Anyhow - did manage to get some craft time this afternoon. This card was made for the Hanna Stamps Guest Design Team Call challenge - you can find it here - www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440356&page3

I also used this weeks sketch from CPS #120 and you can find that here - www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com

I colored Hanna with copics and then used silver and tourquoise spica glitter pens on the motorcycle and blue on the word bubble which is from MFT as is the phrase inside. www.myfavoritethings.com

The diamond plateing in the backround is a backrounder stamp from CHF and you can find it here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com

All for now - soon as my phone call comes in my DS and I will be jumping in the pool for a bit....

Dance the Van Gogh

Hallo,

Well I didn't get this card done yesterday like I had planned - after I got done teaching yesterday it was kinda late and I just layed around with the kiddos the rest of the afternoon.
I colored this a few days ago and finished it off today.
The stamp is from Rubbernecker and the technique is from the latest Technique Junkie newsletter called the 'Van Gogh' technique.
If you like this technique you need to check out the Starving Artist blog
here - www.starvingartistamps.blogspot.com/2009/06/van-gogh-contest.html

They have alot more samples of the Van Gogh technique as well as a contest if you wanted to try this technique yourself.
All for today - going to try to get some more time in the craft room today - I work the weekend :( so no craft time for me until Monday....
Have a great weekend ya'll - see ya on the other side on Monday (ya I know I am strange to look forward to monday - but I am off on most mondays soooo....)

Vintage Hanna

Hallo,

Sharing another card I made for the Hanna Stamps DT call. This is 'Dress Up Hanna'.
I colored her with my copics - trying for vintage and softer colors and then stamped over her with a backrounder from CHF called 'weave backrounder' inked with tea dye distress ink, the tan base cardstock was the same backrounder inked with tattered rose distress ink. You can find the backrounder here at Cornish Heritage Farms - www.cornishheritagefarms.com as well as tons more backrounders and a boatload of other great stamps too.
You can find the cute Hanna stamp (and many others) here - www.hannastamps.com
And you can get the details of the Design Team call here - www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440356

All for today - working again and tomorrow is a teaching day - so hopefully a little shorter day than my usual 12 hour shift!!!!

Friend Giraffe

Hallo,
Can you tell I liked this weeks sketch from CPS? This is another card I got finished this weekend and am preposting for you as I work today...
Ckeck out this week's sketch and what everyone else has done with it here - http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/
This is a stamp from Stamps Happen that I haven't inked up in awhile. I really have fun coloring this line of stamps - all the shadows are drawn in so it makes it easy to color. I colored it with my copics. You can find this stamp and a ton of other great stamps here - http://www.janlynn.com/ - and even better they are having a HUGE SALE this month so you REALLY need to pop in over there and check it out!!!!
All for tonight....

Hello Zebra

Hallo,
I finally found some time to play with my new copics!!!!!! This took my longer than I expected to color - and ALOT of different colors....I kept trying this one and that one till I found the shade I wanted, then added a little here, and a little there...
This stamp is from Stamps Happen from http://www.janlynn.com/ . You need to check these folks out as they carry alot of craft items as well as rubber stamps - Stamps Happen - AND they are haveing a huge sale this month too!!!!!
Anyway as I said I colored the image with my copics - Do ya really want the color list? Well as long as I remembered to write them down this time - here goes - 100, C-1,C-3, C-5, C-7, E35, E37, E43, E47, B00, B02, B05, B28, B29, B39, B63, BG09 and the colorless blender.....whew....
I then layered the image with black and black/white DP cut with nesties in my cuttlebug.
I did have to finagle the layers a bit to make them long enough for this image.

The B/W DP is the largest long rectangle plus another 1/2 of a long rectangle - just lined them up for the length I needed. The bottom black layer is a scalloped square cut 3 times and again lined up to make the rectangle as long as I needed it to be.
I added some black faux rhinestones, black ribbon, and a small 'flower' made from thin dotted black ribbon with a black sequin in the middle.
The phrase is embossed with white and is from Cornish Heriatge Farms.
I did manage to get out for a walk this am before the rain came but didn't get any yard work done....I do so love being in the craft room when its a rainy day outside!!!!
I made this yesterday as I am working today - will prepost for friday too and then see you again on Monday.
I am off the weekend but it will be a busy one - we have our local Pirate Festival this weekend, saturday is the "Landing" of the Pirates as they take over the city.... and then on sunday we are going to go see at least one movie - there are several out we haven't seen yet!!!

All for now - hope the rest of your weeks goes well and have a fun weekend!!!!
