My Favorite Waltz

Hallo,
I accually managed to get one of these done :) !!!! This was done for the "So you think you can stamp" challenge for week 3 over at the My Favorite Things forum on Splitcoaststampers. ANd its not even last minute - its 3 pm and I have until midnight ...... :)
This is made on mattboard to fit a 5X7 frame.
All stamps are from MFT. I did some paper peicing but kinda in reverse as I stamped/colored the girls and paper pieced them onto the DP instead of the usual other way around.
I colored them with copics and then went over them with spica glitter pens to make their dresses a little sparkly for their night out on the town dancing......

I think you may be able to see the glittery effect on the last 2 photos the best.

We had such beautifully cool weather the last couple days - finally getting a bit of yard work caught up on. I have been pulling weeds and digging up whats left of my iris plants.
I love iris but they just don't grow well here in our Florida heat and they hardly bloom at all. My Mom is coming down for a visit in a couple weeks so ( they are driving down) I decided to give what was left to her because I know they will do great back home in Nebraska.
I am headed back to my craft room for a bit so all for today.

Choose Thoughts - gold

Hallo,
Another short post today - when I went to pull out paper for yesterdays journal this goldish paper jumped out and said 'me too, me too' so I did 2 journals instead of one. I have one more craft fair in Novemeber and I need to use up some of my stash anyway.....
The butterfly is from Inkadinkado and colored with copics and the phrase is from Cherry Pie stamps.
Have a great weekend!!!!!

Choose Thoughts - teal

Hallo,
This may look familiar as I did a plaque with this same theme and colors. Last saturday at the craft fair soemone asked me to do the plaque as a journal so here it is.
The butterfly is from Inkadinkado and colored with copics, and the phrase is from Chery Pie stamps.
I trimmed it up with some purple paper edged with a punch.
The little crown is accually clear but in the close up it showed up orangeish - and it took me almost 10 minutes to figure out why - I was wearing an orange shirt when I took the photo.
Short on wordage tonight - :) Short for tomorrow too and then we will see ya on Monday.

Memory book and gift box - GIRL

Hallo,
Preposting for ya today as I will be at work and KNOW I am not getting up 15 minutes early to post for ya like I did this am. We had one crazy busy day today - kicked my toush!!!!
This is a chipboard book from Tim Holtz and a cigar box - the chipboard book fits perfectly into the box.
I decorated this one girly style.
The onesie is from Gina K's WEE TEE'S set. I also made up a bunch of onesies with different designs on so whomever ends up with this combo can use to decorate the pages with onesies that 'fit' the pictures better.

All for tonight - my bed be singing to me softly....

Sparkling Flourishes

Hallo,

Writing this on Sunday afternoon as I work tomorrow - Didn't get anything done to show you the end fo the week with work and all but did manage a little something this weekend - accually something to prepost for Monday and Tuesday.....

I had a few more cigar boxes that I had wanted too get done in time for my craft fair next weekend and planned on doing a Christmas one - well then I stopped in by Flourishes and saw they had a contest going "A season that sparkles challenge" so that made decideing which Christmas stamps to use easy enough :). See here - www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com

The deer is from Flourishes and you can find him here - www.flourishes.com
The phrase is from Cornish Heritage Farms and you can find that great set here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com

I embossed both stamps in gold and then colored the little deer with copics and spica glitter pen (which doesn't show up very well in the picture) and I added some small colored rhinestones to the antlers.
I will show you the book that fits inside this box and a card to match on tuesday.
All for today - working on monday when this will post - see ya tuesday.

Together again

Hallo,
I had a hard time with this challenge and sketch yesterday but still managed to do 2 cards - that is because the pink layer was intended for the first card (yesterdays post) but it didn't look right so I had to make a card for it so it didn't go to waste.....
The challenge is from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge to use pink and make a card for one of the women in your life. You can find the challenge here - www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com
The pink is for Breast Cancer Awareness month - my Mom had her surgery 2 years ago now and didn't need chemo or radiation so we were very happy with that!!!
I combined the FTTC36 with this weeks sketch from CPS which you can find here - www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com
I used a flourish backround from Flourishes on the card base and the nestie die cut layer.
The main image is from My Favorite Things and is colored with copics.

All for today - I want to try and get a couple things finished for my craft fair next weekend and to show you the next couple days while I work.

Together

Hallo,

Well I didn't get as much time for the craft room as I intended today but I did manage to get a little done around my house - a little each day and eventually I may catch up :).

I started with this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes which you can find here - http://www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/
The challenge was to make something for one of the women in your life and to use pink because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I know several people with Breast Cancer - my Mom had her surgery 2 years ago now but thankfully didnot need chemo or radiation.
Then I saw the sketch over at CPS and decided to use that - I usually need some help when I have to use pink (its not a color I chose very often).
You can find the sketch here - http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

I used a flourish backround from Flourishes for the card base and the nestie die cut later both stamped in brown ink.
The main image is from My Favorite Things and is colored with copics - also cut with a nestie, and edged with gold mettalic pen.
The little pearl on the ribbon is a brad.
All for today - gotta try and get some grub going for the fam ....

Christmas Jar

Hallo,
I hope everyone had a good weekend!!! I am glad for mondays - they are my fridays (even though I only work every other weekend - monday and tuesdays are my consistant days off sooo ahhhh monday).
Finished off this jar on friday. All these stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms and you can find them here - http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/
This jar I found at a thrift shop for 1 dollar!!! It is a good size for a cookie jar but small enough that it could be used to hold almost anything.
I started with heavy white cardstock and cut them with my newest nestabilities label die and started stamping. First with a backrounder and then with a Christmas stamp - different for each side. To glue them to the jar I used gold shimmer mod podge and covered the jar with it too. I put another coat on over the top and when it dried sealed it with several layers of acrylic sealer. The mod podge has a nice shimmer and kinda gives it an aged antique look.
For the lid and tags I covered some chipboard pieces - also stamped with backrounders and Christmas stamps - added a Christmas phrase to each and 3 layers of ribbon that I also used on the jar neck.

All for today - need to get some cleaning done that got neglected a bit last week when I was feeling not so hot and I have a craft fair coming up so need to get off the computer and do chores so I have crafting time :)
