Fisherman Mo

Hallo,

I did this card for the weekly challenge over at Mo's Digital pencil but alas I am a day late......
I was also going to use this for the FTTC challenge over at Flourishes ....I took inspiration from the first picture in that I used blues, browns and tan (darker than the creamy tan in the picture) . I did morph the challenge a bit as all the pics seemed more delicate and feminine to me and I turned it all manly - but it will have to do for today 'cause I was in the mood for a man card. Will have to try a more girly card tomorrow. Check out their blog for inspiration - www.flourishes.org/blog

The DH and I took the kiddos over to Mobile to the science center for the day yesterdday. They had an dinosaur exhibit which was really meant for the little kids but they also had a really cool (in my opinion) Healthy Body exhibit - it covered everything from healthy eating, exercise, strength training, heart disease, diabetes to robotic surgery. They even had films running of an Open Heart Surgery and a robotic surgery. It was very well done!!!!

Back to the card - the main image is from Mo's of course - http://www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

and is colored with copics.

The phrase is from Flourishes - http://www.flourishes.org/.

The frame and the leaf are done with a technique from the latest Technique Junkies Newsletter called Faux Rust - find out more here - http://www.patstamps.com/. I cut them both out with spellbinders dies. I used some copper rub on on the leaf.

I used some decorative brads at the corners of the frame, layered it onto textured blue cardstock that I distressed a bit with tea dye distress ink.

I was happy with how this turned out - I even colored a bit of 'rust' onto the tackle box and bait bucket :) - I thought I was pretty clever to add that touch......hee hee

All for today - gotta start dinner.....

Take Care

Tera

Really nice card. I am in love with that leaf. I had bought some sandpaper to do some faux rust backgrounds, but I hadn't thought of doing a leaf. It's truly wonderful!
