Wedding tags

Hallo,
Not much crafting time for me today - finished off these 2 tags to add to some frames I did - (will be consigning them at a local shop this week).
I used a stamp from Flourishes and a 'drop shadow ' technique.
I stamp the image first in memento gray and then shifted the stamp slightly and stamped/embossed with silver powder.
The one on the right I shifted the second impression to the right and the one on the left I shifted the second impression to the left :) - I had to do one of each just to see how it looked !!
All for me this am - am headed for the gym, then groceries and a bit of house work, a nap and then out of the house early to watch DD's softball game this afternoon before working tonight.

Country Summer Sunsets

Hallo,
Well this is my last Tuesday for Flourishes Guest FTTC Designer :( pout... but I have had a blast playing along with the pro's this month.
Our challenge this week is for 'Country Cool' to create something inspired by country living. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used seven (7) Flourishes set to make up this picture frame for todays challenge and a technique from Technique Junkies called layered masking.
I grew up on the farm and all of these scenes remind me of the 'good ol days'.
I used to go fishing now and then with my Dad and I would often ride my horse down to the 'crick' (thats creek for you non-country types :) and sit under the trees reading . We often played in the sprinklers in the evening and spent lots of time creating our 4-H float for our small town parade every year.

I said I used 7 different sets for this frame so here is the list (I think this may be a record for me to use all on one project :)
Gerber Daisies, Kids Play, Moments in Time, Sweet Days of Summer, Patriotism on Parade, Wild for Watermelon and Damask background.
For the layered masking I used Distress and Adirondak inks and embossed the images and phrases in black. And I used some bronze viva decor pen in the corners.
I had a blast making this up - I have one with a Christmas theme in mind (matter of fact saturdays post was a trial run for that idea...).
All for this am - hoping to get some serious craft time in today :)

Irish bookmarks

Hallo,
Well I am up an moving for the day and took a few minutes to finish up these book marks for the current challenge over at the Outlines blog.
The challenge was for 'St. Patty's Day' and you can check it out here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I didn't have any Outlines stamps with an Irish theme so I went all green instead and in more ways than one :)
These coener bookmarks were made all with scraps pulled from my scrap drawer.
They are super easy to make - you start with a 4" X 4" square and fold over 2 corners at the 2 inch mark. Next take a 2 and 3/4 in square and cut it in half - and glue it to the back to hold the fold overs in place. Then decorate.
I used several of Outlines flower stamps and paper piecing to decorate mine - alone with some Spellbinbers dies for the edges.
I embossed them in gold and cut them out and layered them on top of each other.
I like to keep the bookmarks fairly simple, because otherwise they get to thick for the corners of the book.
All for today folks - back to the craft room for me - :) Happy ME!!!

Talents

Hallo,
Just a quick little Sunday morning post for you today - working this weekend so I am off to bed to sleep as soon as I am done typing :)
I am always trying for new cards to make with a guy type style. The background on this card is 'faux rusty metal' technique from Technique Junkies which I ran through a gears texture folder and then swiped the raised portions with black ink. I edged those panels with copper mettalic pen.
The phrase is from Gina K and I cut it and the next layer out with Spellbinders dies - the phrase layer I sponged some ink onto while still in the die..
The accents around the die and in the corners were done with a copper viva decor pearl pen.
Ok folks thats all for me today - my pillow is calling me :)

Green Christmas

Hallo,
Since I showed you a Christmas card yesterday, I decided to show you another one I did recently...
All the stamps are from Flourishes and the technique is called 'Layered masking' from Technique Junkies.
The background was stamped with green ink and then the layers were stamped and embossed with black (the tree image is a partial so it would fit as I wanted it) and the sponging was with a combo of distress inks and SU inks.
I added some gold viva decor pen to the bulbs on the tree and in the corners.
All for today - a bit of crafting time, the run my DS and a friend to a movie and back for my pre-night shift work thang nap :)
Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Jingle wishes

Hallo,
Boy what a busy week - worked an extra shift last night so all I felt like doing this am was sleep....
Got up about 1 and finished off this card for the current challenge over at House Mouse - www.housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com
The challenge this time was to 'make wishes come true' . When my kids were little I used to take the string of sleigh bells I had an sneak around out by their windows after they had gone to bed and shake them real good so they could hear them....and then in the morning listen to them tell how they 'heard' when Santa came....such fun!!!

I colored these guys with copics and then the bells I went over with a spica glitter pen.

Now I am off to get DS and get hime some swim suits for year round swim team (he will be starting that next week...) and then off to watch DD's softball game....

P.S. I now have about a dozen Christmas cards made :)!!!

FTTC Bookmarks

Hallo,

Well I am back for another Timeless Tuesday challenge as Guest Designer for Flourishes this month - I am so lovin' it!!!!

Our challenge this week was to make corner bookmarks. I had not done these in a long time. I love to read and love bookmarks almost as much!!! (that is the only sad thing about getting a Kindle for Christmas - you don't need bookmarks....and I do miss the feel of a 'real' book too...).

But not all my books are on the Kindle and my nieces and nephews might like a few of these - maybe for Christmas this year - its a good time to start thinking of that (at least for me - gives me plenty of time!!!)

Well if you need a tutorial on how to make these just pop in here - www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cornerbookmark for a quick and easy tutorial!!!

For this first one I used the Lilac set stamped with purple ink onto a goldish lightly flowered DP and then stamped off twice to give it some depth. The phrase is from the Orchid set. The second picture shows how it would sit on the corner.

For the second bookmark I used the same phrase and stamps from Flourishes time set, also onto a DP (this one with just a bit of a texture linen type pattern).

On the third bookmark the only stamp I used was the phrase. The patterned paper has felted flowers on it .

And the last bookmark I used the lilacs again and colored them with copics and the phrase is a different one, also from the Orchid set.

Can you tell that I had fun making bookmarks - well they are alot of fun but also very quick to do. I even managed to use scraps for all 4 of them from my stash - they start out as a 4" by 4" square so you don't need much cardstock - and it you are anything like me there should be a few scraps laying around that will fit perfectly.

If you decide to join in the fun this week make sure to check out the Flourishes blog and link up your own bookmark project for a chance to win some shopping money from Flourishes!!!!

Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/.

All for me today - I am in the middle of a 3 day stretch at work (yes I got talked into another extra day- night that is- ....) 1 down - 2 to go :).

Have a great day!!!!

Treasure Box

Hallo,
I finished off this box today among my other errands - groceries, lunch with DH :), and taking my old pooch to the vet (he has an earache)
This is an altered cigar box and it fits perfectly for this weks challenge over at the Outlines blog - the challenge this week is to do something square. Check out the challenge here - http://www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com/
I stamped this stamp from Outlines several times and embossed with gold and then colored them with copics.
Then I cut them apart and used them to decorate this box that I had covered with pretty pink papers.
I added some pearls from a viva decor pearl pen.
The spool was first colored with a gold mettalic pen (all the paper edges are lined with the gold mettalic pen too) and then I added some amtching paper to the middle.

The inside bottom and sides of the box are lined with pink felt and then I added a mirror to the lid.

I thought it made for a very girly treasure box :)

All for today - need to get ready for
work now - first of probably 3 in a row (I volunteered for wednesday night too if they need me and with one of our co-workers out with surgery it is almost assured that they will need me)

Sit a spell

Hallo,
I have a card for you today for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession's blog - which is for Hello/Hi there.....
Check out the challenge here - http://www.mitrafriant.typepad.com/
The stamp I used is from Impression Obsession and is called - Rocking Chair and is #H1857
Well to me this porch just seems to say 'Sit a spell' which in the south is just another way to say Hello, or Howdy neighbor - come sit a spell :)
When I sit down to color images I am about 50/50 whether I have a paper chosen and color it to match or not, and this time I did not have a DP in
mind when I colored this up.
When I don't color to match a specific paper then I usually spend some time going through my paper stash trying to decide which to use.
Today I thought I would show you the 2 pieces of DP I ended up with and had to decide which to use.
This first paper had the turquoise blue and some gray and looked good ....
Then I found the second one - and It had alot of oranges and some pink in it - well not only did that paper seem to pop a bit more, it also had some pinks and oranges from the picture in it too.
I chose the orange one today but am probably going to color another almost just like it so I can use the other paper too - I may make one of the flowers and the curtains yellow to match the first paper better when I color it next - may add more yellow to the kitty too....
It is still amazing to me how a different DP can change the whole look and mood of an image!!!

Well in my final product I added several ribbons and trim and then added some turquoise pearl drops from a viva decor pen.

All for today - Take Care

Take Time

Hallo,

Just a quick post and a quick card.

I already had this image colored up (someone at a craft fair asked for a bunch of showers cards with this image but them never called back - teach me for trying to work ahead...)

But it worked out great for me today - the challenge over at Mo's this week is for sentiments.

It is colored with prismacolor pencils and both the main image, the sentiment and the next layer are cut with Spellbinders dies.

I added some blue 'pearls' in the corners with a tulip fabric paint pen..

Outlines red, black and white

Hallo,
I managed to finish off this little frame project today - this first picture is the before picture....I took out the picture in it and replaced it with my own creation.
All the stamps are from Outlines Rubber Stamps. I used several of the flowers and stamped them onto red and black Designer Papers and cut them out.
I then took and coated them all with chrystal laquer to make them sturdier and bendable, and then I layered them and put them together with decorative brads.
More Outlines stamps are stamped onto the vellum and layered on top more DP.

I added a bit of gold rub on to the frame too and a coat of acrylic sealer.

This project fits for this weeks challenge over at Outlines for red, black and white.
