Sunshine

 Hallo,
House cleaning and errands to do today I managed to get some stamping done yesterday afternoon :)
I did this card for the current challenge over at Mo's Digital pencil - www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com
The challenge this time was for something weather related and living in NW Florida the weather is usually SUNSHINE :)
The main image is from Mo's colored with colored pencils and the phrase is from Flourishes.
(You have seen this image before - colored the same way - I had someone that wanted party invitations and then decided she didn't want  them after all and I already had about 10 of this sweet little guy colored up - so you will be seeing him again  :)
All for today - gotta get a move on!!!

Grateful Heart

 Hallo,
Well a quick post before I head to bed this am - for a couple hours anyhow.
If you would send a few prayers in the direction of my Mom today - she is getting a PET scan today because a CAT scan showed some spots on her lung (very small) and small bowel (larger). Mom is 4 and 1/2 years out from her breast cancer so this is scary for us!!!  I can only hope we find out the results in the next couple days because Mom's cancer Doctor will be out of town until the 12th of June and waiting that long will definatly be torture!!!
My card today is for the current challenge over at Flourishes for their tuesday challenges - the challenge this time is for a Thank-you card. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
Both the scene and the phrase are from Flourishes. Scene colored with copics onto neenah desert storm and the phrase embossed with black.
All for me today - Take Care

Sunday in the park....kinda

 Hallo,
Well it was definatly a HOT  day here in NW Florida. The DH was going for a ride and I decided to go with him.
This little place is obviously a gathering place  for the biker crowd - they have a campground off to the side and there was a band playing, a few trees for some shade and lots of cold 'libations'  (soda and water too) and of course food too.

Have a great weekend!!!

Wish

 Hallo,
Welcome to 'almost' friday :) - its getting closer anyhow....
I have a card for you today for the current challenge over at Flourishes - the challenge this week is for 'flowers' which is a simple one for me - especially when it comes to Flourishes stamps. Flourishes has sooooo many awesome flower stamps and they are so beautiful and easy to color!!!
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used this flower bouquet from Flourishes and colored it with prismacolor pencils and then cut it out with a Spellbinders die.
I cut the next layer also with a Spellbinders die and the yellow die is from Cheery Lynn dies.
I used a embroidered word and some silver liquid pearls for accents on top of another layer of DP and layered finally on top of gray cardstock.
All for today - off to work tonight ....

Country Kitchen

 Hallo,
Well one of my favorite stamp companies - in the new version :)
Cornish Heritage Farms is starting challenges on their blog - here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
The first challenge over at CHF is an easy one - its 'anything goes'.
I took 2 of my stamps from old CHF to use today. First is the kitchen window which is colored with prismacolor pencils.
I used the weave backgrounder with antique linnen distress ink stamped over the DP on the top half of the background layer.
I used a Technique Junkie technique on the lower half, called faux painted paneling  - I added a bit of distressing with antique linnen distress ink on the panels.
Be sure to check out the new challenges over at the CHF blog!!!

Dream

 Hallo,
Just a quick card for you today as I am going to head out to the back yard and see if our pool is warm enough for a quick dip - nice and hot out today so should be warm enough.
I worked last night but got up early to finish off this card for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession - the challenge is 'sending comfort' and my card is a reminder to remember to dream :)
I used the 'Pond Dragonfly' (F2302) and colored him with copics. I layered him to some sweet DP and added a ruffled ribbon and the little word charm/sticker and there you have it :).
Check ouit the challenge here  -
www.mitrafriant.typepad.com  and if you join in you could win 25 dollars in free stamps from IO!!!!

Believe

 Hallo,
A quick card for you today - its been a busy day, groceries and house cleaning, a bit of yard work in the am and a little time in the craft room :)
I did this card for the current challenge over at Flourishes for their Timeless Tuesday challenge - this week is an Alphabet challenge.
I chose B and the second part of the challenge was to include at least 3 things that start with the letter - so I have blue, butterflys, a bee and the word Believe :) What a fun challenge - check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used the magnolia image from Flourishes and colored it with prismacolor pencils onto neenah desert storm paper and layered it to some DP with butterflys on it.
All for today - time to look at something to rustle up for dinner...

Evening thunder

 Hallo,
A quick post for you this am, I am running to Pensacola for the day today with my stamping buddy and Chief enabler Pat.
We had a thunderstorm pop up yesterday evening and as it was building I walked up the block to check the mail and loved how cool the clouds were looking, so I grabbed my camera and went back up the street taking some pics....
At one point there was a little swirlin' going on up there so it was cool to watch....
Our isolated little bloom up thunder boomers here in NW Florida rarely are big enough to make a tornado but sometimes it looks like its trying to....
   Have a great day!!!!

Mr & Mrs

 Hallo,
A couple of quick cards today for a challenge over at Stamp TV. This challenge was to use a charm.
I have been trying to do a few simple cards lately and also had a wedding theme in mind today.
All stamps are from Gina k, stamped and embossed in white onto neenah desert storm and layered onto marron and green base cardstock.
A bit of sleep this am, and a bit of yard work to water my hanging plants and the plants on my patio only to hand a nice thunderstorm bloom up and give us a nice deep drink of water :). I took some pics of the clouds that I will show ya tomorrow.

Bird Wisdom

 Hallo,
A quick note before I head to work this evening....I liked the card I did yesterday so much that I tried a couple more....both for a challenge over at Stamp TV for a spring or summer card.
We get lots of birds here in NW Florida in spring before they move on north for the heat of the summer.
I stamped the edges with distress ink and colored the birds with  copics.
My phrase got a bit off kilter on the second one....

Summer Butterfly

 Hallo,
Welcome to Monday....day after Mother's Day!!! I hope all you Mom's had a great day!!!!
As for me - well one word - TEENAGERS - my DH did take me out for a nice, relaxing lunch, nice breeze off the bay, sun shining off the ocean and yummy food!!!  All is good!!!
I was in need of some bright colors today and it fit in perfectly with the new Monday challenge over at Stamp TV for a spring or summer card.
Both the stamps are from Gina K. I stamped the shadow flowers in adiarondak and staz-on inks and then the butterfly with memento black.
I then colored the butterfly with copics and added just a hint of a shadow with a warm gray copic.
I don't often do CAS cards but I like how this one turned out!!!! I did do an extra layer because I liked the idea of just a bit of the yellow ink around the edge but still wanted a clean white edge too....

All for now - meeting the DH at the local furniture store to get us a new matress - ours is 15 years old and pretty saggy in the middle at this point. And then I am off to work.....

Stamp TV CSS Hop

 Hallo,
Welcome to another fun Stamp TV CSS Alumni blog hop. This time we have a great inspiration photo (first one :) to work with.
If you are following along the hop then you should have come to me from Sharri - and I am sure she had sweet stuff for you!!!
Remember to leave lots of sweet comments laong the way as we will be drawing for a HUGE grab bag of Gina K stamps from all those who comment.
Personally I loved this photo - so much to chose from!!!! I first spotted the pillow and the big vase both with old fashioned redwork on them (not sure if that is what its called....) and then I liked the quilt and the vase of flowers.....
For the redwork I used neenah desert storm with the lace doilly from 'Nana's Needlework' stamped onit in red for a background. (I had intended a 4X6 card but it kinda grew....)
Next I used the quilt and shelf - also from the same set -colored with copics and cut out with a Spellbinders label die.

Last is my vase of flowers -  the vase is from Melanie's 'Buds and vases' and the flowers from Gina's 'By your side' - also colored with copics.
As I said my card grew to 5X7 because I wanted more of my quilt to show and I didn't want to cut off any of my vase and flowers - so I just made the card bigger :).  I couldn't decide what phrase to use so I added a row of pearls instead and some to the corners too.
All for the evening - the teenagers are both out and about this friday evening and the DH is watching
Nascar, so for me its either craft room, blog surfing or the couch with my kindle :) - or as the case may be it will probably be a bit of all of the above :).
  Have a great weekend!!!!

Beach Time

 Hallo,
A quick post this evening as my DH and I are going out for dinner tonight :)
I had found the cutest frames lately at the thrift store and when I saw this one I immediately thought of my 'Time' set from Flourishes....and then the noontime challenge today at Flourishes was to 'make one for the guys'. Well my guy loves the beach so I combined the 2 ideas.
Check out the challenges and prizes to be won at Flourishes here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
The first picture is the before picture.
For the frame I stamped images from the time set onto the frame with distress powder and then the phrase with black. This was my favorite part of this project - I love how it turned out!!!!
For the center I took some DP with clocks on it and stamped the beach scene over the top and then colored with copics.
I like how it turned out but wonder if the clocks in the background aren't a little distracting???? What do you think???
I had a little time so I tried a second version with the scene stamped onto the neenah desert storm than I have been using alot lately but it turned out a little dark so this version still looked better - and I ran out of time because tomorrow I have another project that needs to get done .....

I may just try another time later over the weekend - we will see.....
If I do another version, do you think I should keep the clocks in a lighter version or just skip the clocks on the main image altogether??

Brighter Sunshine

 Hallo,
Well my first day of 5 days off!!!! Yippee!!!
I managed a little stamping time today after sleeping part of the day and making a grocery run.
I did this card for todays noontime release challenge over at Flourishes - check out all the fun, and prizes here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All stamps are from Flourishes - from 2 different sets, colored with copics onto the neenah desert storm again.
I used Spellbinders labels 1 dies to make a hole in the front of the card and make the frame for the opening too.
The main image is on the inside, showing through the window.
Okaydokay - time for me to get some dinner on the table and then I have some images lined up to color on the couch tonight :)

Something Pink

 Hallo,
Another Flourishes challenge for you today - this one for the current Timeless Tuesday challenge which is for 'pink'.
Check out all the release week challenges and prizes here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I saw a card shaped like this somewhere amoung my blog surfing in the last couple weeks and have been wanting to do one.
The basic card shape and the next layer of DP is cut from the Spellbinders Grand labels 4 and the main image from Spellbinders labels 4 - matchy matchy :)
I used the 'lenten rose' from Flourishes and colored it with copics onto the neenah desert storm, cut it out and edged it with brown ink.
I added a couple ribbons from my stash and some gold accents with a viva decor pen. This card fits nicely into a 5X7 envie....

All for today - backposting again from thursday and now I need to get ready to go out to eat with my DH - both the kiddos are busy (too busy to hang out with the parents anyhow :) so we are going to go out to eat at a dinner sponsered by my workplace....hadn't planned on going, but with the change to my schedule this week  it worked out....

Home sweet home

 Hallo,
Well my week is a bit crazy already - backposting from thursday - I was sposed to be off monday and tuesday but a co-worker is out sick and to balance out the staffing a bit I switched and worked instead. It gives me 5 days off in a row starting wednesday but boy I can sure tell I am not as young as I used to be after 4  - 12 hour shifts in a row.....
I did this card for the first of the release week challenges over at Flourishes which is a 'home sweet home ' decor challenge. Pick something from your home and use it as inspiration for a card. I picked the vase you see in the first photo - I just loved the colors and patterns when I found this one and the 2 others in the set at a thrift store, so they came home with me.

I used 2 different Flourishes stamps for my card - the first is the hollyhocks colored with copics onto some new to me paper -  called neenah desert storm - works great for copics and I love the beigey/vintageish color.
The base layer is kraft cardstock that I stamped and embossed with gold the flourish background from Flourishes and then sponged inks into the 4 sections to match the colors in the vase and the flowers.
I layered the main image to dark brown paper and added some bronze accents with a viva decor pen.
Check out all the challenges and prizes to be won over at Flourishes this week here - www.flourishes.org/blog/

 Have a great week!!!

I am a bit behind the power curve this am as I thought we were starting our hop this evening as most of our CSS hops do....so I am late, I had my card mostly done, just had to finish, photo and type when I discovered I was late (after a bit of very humid warm yard work - summer in Florida has begun!!)
I love this stamp from Inkadinkado - I have a bunch of blue bottles on my porch and the sun shines through them so gloriously in the morning here and I even have flowers blooming to put in them too!!! So I am sending Karen a bit of sunshine straight from my back porch today!!!
I colored them with copics and the phrase is from Gina K - even the set is called 'Sending Sunshine' :)
All for me today - going to try to get some house cleaning done and clean out my old mini van - starting to smell like old sneakers in there......
