Sweet Pea Halloween

 Hallo,
Its another Sweet Pea Stampers  Friday and the challenge this time is for Halloween/Fall.
Sweet Pea Stamps had a ton of great stuff for Halloween and Fall. This sweet image is called - 'Pick a pumpkin' by Ching-Chou-Kuik.
When I sat down at my craft table with her I thought I was going to make a card....then I started going through my stash of Halloween papers and embellies and decided she needed to be in a picture frame instead :)
The main image is colored with prismacolor pencils, cut out with a Spellbinders labels die and edged with a copper metallic pen (as is the edges of the frame and the DP on the frame :)
Play along with us and you could win some sweet images from Sweet Pea Stamps!!!
Check it out here - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/
All for me today - I am taking another encaustic wax painting class today and am really looking forward to it - its my newest addiction and I find myself planning my projects in my head constantly in anticipation of this class....kinda like I do with my stamping projects - its a wonder I can get anything done with all these projects in my head :)
    Have a great weekend!!!

Oriental Briefcase

 Hallo,
I have finally finished off this briefcase project - after over 2 and 1/2 years.....Its one of those things that I got started and then got side-tracked and kept getting side-tracked and never got done.
Well one of my New Years Resolutions was to try and finish off a lot of the projects I have half done like this one and I finally got this one done :) I have had the briefcase recovered for 2 years now and the one of the main images done for about a year and ideas for other images and embellishments picked out for over 6 months and I finished it today!!!! (its about time eh ?)
It started out as a big old black briefcase with a few scuff marks on the outside, the inside is in very good shape with only 2 places that are scuffed up.
I started out making up a masterboard with a whole bunch of Oriental stamps from several companies. I then cut the master board into pieces and edged them with red ink and used mod podge to glue them all over the briefcase - cutting smaller pieces to fit around handles and the zipper for the file pouch and ect. Once it was dry I sprayed it all with several coats of acrylic finish to make it more durable.
The front of the case has 2 main images and the top left  hand one is a stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps - colored with copics and her dress is paper pieced, and layered onto a fancy Spellbinders die.
The bottom right hand image is a Spellbinders die with stamps from Stampin' Up embossed onto it.
I glued the images on with mod podge and when dry sealed them too.
The back of the case I used a stencil and a black copic marker to make the iris and sealed it with a layer of mod podge and then the acrylic sealer (mod podge first because the acrylic sealer doesn't play well with alcohol markers :)
All for today - need to gather some supplies for my encaustic wax painting class tomorrow :) So excited, and sooo addicted :)

Blue truck

Hallo,
Taking a break from putting my craft fair stuff back in the closet...I was hoping to have a lot less to put away after yesterdays craft fair but it just didn't work out that way....but I sold enough to have a bit of crafty spending money so that is good :)
Getting pictures of this card was tough - kinda a murky day here....the background DP is more on the yellow gold color than shows here.
I did this for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for your 'favorite technique'. My favorite thing is coloring and here with prismacolor pencils, blended a bit with OMS.
Also when it comes to guy cards I tend to keep it simple most of the time.
Check out the IO challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
The stamps I used are - #1866 Classic Truck and #D1383 Predict the future.
Hope you had a great weekend!!!

Wedding memory box

 Hallo,
Just a short note before I head off to work for the night....
Finished off this wedding memory box yesterday but it was too late to get pictures.
I love making these boxes and its even more fun when I can customize to the wedding couples colors and style.
When I take one to the craft fairs or put one on the Etsy shop I usually do gold and cream or sometimes black and gold with white or cream...
This is a cigar box and I covered it with pretty papers and covered the book to match. The inside bottom of the box is lined with felt and I attached some wooden 'feet' that I colored gold with a metallic gold pen. Added some metal corners from Tim Holtz and not sure where I got the other little things for the corners but I like them :)
The stamp is from Northwoods and the die cuts from Spellbinders.
I guess I had better get a move on and get off to work.....have a great night!!!

But got lots of pics of the boys posing for pics - they were having fun :)

Blue and bronze

 Hallo,
Starting off another crafty day - my craft room time has been very good lately(just don't ask about the house cleaning :). I made another baby box and memory book gift combo - this time in boy colors - blues and teals.
I am also using this project for a challenge over at Flourishes (imagine that :). I am using it for the Tuesday challenge which is for 'lace and pearls' I used some pretty blue lace with all the decorations - you can see it better in the second photo. And I used some liquid pearls from Viva Décor in Bronze.
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All the stamps are from Flourishes of course (you have seen this set used by me alot lately) - and colored with prismacolor pencils.
A run to the post office and then hopefully some craft room time before I get my pre-work nap....
 Have a great weekend!!!

Sparkle and shine

Hallo,
Welcome to another challenge Friday at Sweet Pea Stampers!! Our challenge this week is for 'Sparkle and Shine' We would love you to join in and if you do you may win some Sweet Pea images - we chose one randomly and then the DT choses one from all those that use a Sweet Pea image to receive another.
Check out the challenge and all the inspiration from my Teammates here - Sweet Pea Stampers - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/
For my card I used the Sweet Pea stamp called 'Fluttering Butterlie' and colored her with prismacolor pencils - I then added some stickles glitter to her wings, dress and the butterflies. I edged the main panel with gold metallic pen and layered it to a very pretty sparkly purple paper and then onto the striped paper that also has sparkles on it .
Lastly I added some chipboard snowflakes with more stickles glitter on them and some teal pearls.
I think she looks good in sparkly winter mode!!!
All for today - Have a great weekend!!!!

Florida

 Hallo,
A quick post to start the day - been for my walk and now will run and errand or 2 before heading back to the craft room (trying to finish off a few projects for my craft fair next week).
I made this card for the 'World Card Making  Day ' challenge over at Flourishes. The challenge was to make something that reflects your little corner of the world.
Well I live in Florida so I can pretend that this is a picture of my porch over looking the sound....I can see my pool from the porch, does that count :). And the beach is only 10 minutes away anyhow :)
Both stamps are from  Flourishes and colored with prismacolor pencils. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
   Have a great day!!!!

Baby Lace and Pearls

 Hallo,
Well I did manage to get a project done in my craft room today - didn't get anything else done though as I slept till about 230 pm after getting off work, and was a bit slow to get movin when I did drag my rear outta bed :).
This is the project I finished up - another baby box with memory book and its for  the current Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes which is for 'pearls and lace' Check out the challenge and all the release week goodies here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
For my lace  - well I have a ton of vintage and vintageish lace in my stash  from my garage sale addiction and the yellow lacey ribbon piece is one of those and I used liquid pearls from Viva Décor to accent the box, phrase and main image.
All stamps are from Flourishes 'Hello Baby' set and colored with prismacolor pencils.
I used a cigar box and covered it and the memory book in pretty matching DP's added the 3 rows of ribbon and lace and then the 2 main panels are popped up on foam tape. I covered the inside of the box too.
The last picture is of my sweet puppy and my DD's fat old cat - they seem to becoming friends finally. My DD taught my puppy to get on the bed as a parting gift for me when she went to college - grrrr. My DH is not a big critter person and really doesn't like the puppy on the bed - course she is smart enough that she has figured that out and jumps down the second he comes in the door at night.....but when I am sleeping during the day after working I often end up with all the critters in bed with me - 2 cats and the puppy gets a bit crowded......Thanks Daughter Dear :)  Good thing my sweet Kyna is a fairly small dog - 40 lbs. and as I said she is a sweetie .....
