Sweet Pea Christmas Ornaments

 Hallo,
A quick post today so I can get another hour or so in the craft room before my pre-work nap :)
I colored up a few of this image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Little Shepard' from Aurora Wings with copic markers.
Then I cut it out with a circle die and backed the image with some glitter paper. I had to roll it up to get it inside the ornament which is round in width but flattened so its only about an inch and 1/2 thick. I added some small clear beads and that was it.
I think they turned out really cute!!!
I have some more in the works with other SPS images and another type of ornament that I am going to try tracing the image onto and coloring with pencils - we will see how it turns out :)
Okay dokay - off to the craft room I go :)

Thanksgiving - Sweet Pea Stampers challenge

Hallo,
Well we have warmed back up a bit here in NW Florida - temps in the 50/60's in stead of 20's which is nice :)
I had a hard time choosing a Thanksgiving image and ended up with this sweet Indian girl - I have had the image printed up for quite awhile and hadn't gotten around to coloring her yet :)
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then added some fall leaf stickers and accents in blues and browns.
Join us and you could win some Sweet Pea Stamps images!!!!!
All for today - was on call for work last night so today is a chance to finish up some errands/chores that I didn't manage to get done the last couple days :) - off I go...

Glittered Pearl

 Hallo,
Well the weather has finally warmed back up a bit here in NW Florida - frost all over the rooftops this morning but then it warmed up quick and was 60 degrees by about 830 this am - sunny and very wonderful. The pups took me for a long walk and they had a good run :) and then I spent most of the day in the craft room (aside from and errand or 2 :)
I think I may have gotten a bit too much glitter on her in spots - can you really have too much glitter :)
I used a Sweet Pea Stamps image and colored her with prismacolor pencils and then used and die shaped like a Christmas ornament to cut here out - added some accents with viva décor pens, glitter and some gold Christmas trims and some teal flowers.
I am on call for work tonight which is rare so I am going to shift to the couch now and work on the locker hook rug that I need to have finished in time for Christmas :)

Runaway Graffitti - Sweet Pea Stamps Design team application

 Hallo,
A very cold morning here in NW Florida - 18 degree low and the highs will only be about mid 20's - brrr.
My pups still made me take a long walk though - so now I am warming my fingers with a cup of tea....
I tried a couple new things with this 8 by 10 canvas over the last week or so - my idea was to make the background look like a wall full of graffiti......
The main image I used is called 'Runaway Ruby' by Regan Kubecek from Sweet Pea Stamps and I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then cut her out  from her background.
I had this cute die cut with the lamp post so thought she could be standing there waiting for the bus :) or just to rest.
For the graffiti wall I layered first with a couple pieces from my other addictions - on the right is a piece of encaustic wax (painting using wax that you melt and paint  - in this case with a hot iron) and on the left is part of a zentanlgle I did with flowers and a brick wall background. Once I had these glued on and dry I added some white paint in streaks and a few splatters and then some smaller word graffiti....then I got stuck for awhile :) and spent some time looking up graffiti and then sosme more time deciding what word I wanted to use - decided on 'runaway' and then some more time (about 5 or 6 versions I think) drawing up how I wanted the word to look.
When I had runaway drawn the way I wanted I copied it to the canvus and then painted it white - looked at it awhile longer....decided it needed a bit more so I decided to  tangle the 'runaway' too - thinkin maybe addin the red accents might have been too much but I like it anyway.4
All in all - not my 'USUAL' type of project, but I had fun playing with it  :)
Have a great day - I am off to lunch with some artsy type friends and then back to the craft room for to finish off a couple more projects :)

As an added bit of fun share the hop on Facebook tagging Sweet Pea Stamps for a chance for a $10 gift code to the Sweet Pea Stamps store! Winners will be chosen around the first of next week.

I also have a bit of a treat for you too - I have a bit of blog candy to give away of my own. I have for one lucky commenter - 2 older Sweet Pea Rubber stamps (I loved them so much I ended up buying them twice :) - a memento ink pad - desert sand, and a large 5 by 7 die cut that I also accidently bought 2 of :) I will count all comments until the 5th of December and then randomly chose a winner (I would go sooner but my kids are home from college over Thanksgiving - and then I work  a couple days right after they leave :) A picture is down below at the end :)

For my card to day I used an image from artist Heather Valentin called 'Rory's hot cocoa' and it is available both as a digi and a rubber stamp.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die. I edged the main image with a gold metallic pen and then added green dots to the polka dots and the ginderbread mens buttons with a tulip fabric paint pen. Lastly I added some stickles glitter to the ground and for snowflakes in the air too. I layered the main image to some Christmas paper an added some gold corner stickers and a paper bow with some Christmas trim wrapped around it - yippee another Christmas card done!!!!
Ok be sure to stop by everyone else's blog too for a ton of great inspiration and a chance to win some Sweet Pea 's of your own

Runaway Ruby

Hallo,
Well I am sitting here trying to get motivated to get up and do something - not sure what yet, there is a HUGE list to chose from....I got off work this am and the weather was really nice so I decided to take the pups for a long walk  because its sposed to start raining this weekend.....my one hip has been hurting me a lot lately (old Arthur is NOT my friend!!!) so it took me longer than usual to do the route I usually do - I took the pups out to  the military base to a place that has big open areas and a ton of trees, this way I can turn them loose and let them chase the rabbits and squirrels and have a grand ol time, they even went swimming for a bit this morning too.
Anyway after about 4 and 1/2 hours sleep it was time to get up (otherwise I wont sleep tonight and I have to be up early am for a class tomorrow...)
so now needless o say there is not a whole lot of energy/motivation :)
ANYWHO... my project for the day uses a cute image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Runaway Ruby' and I colored her with prismacolor pencils
I added some map paper behind the main image to go with the travel theme of her suitcase and used a lot of maroon red and gray with some pretty gray ribbon/lace and some maroon roses. Don't u just love the little cat sitting in the window behind her :)
All for today - if I don't get a move on then I will be asleep again :)

Mardi Gras in pink

Hallo,
Well it has been a busy morning here already - took my puppies out to the woods for a good long run - it was Dukes' (the new puppy) first time. Kyna loves the woods - she goes off chasing rabbits and deer and turkey and checks back in with me every few minutes (she never gets too far away and I can almost always see her through the trees). Duke wasn't too sure about getting too far into the trees and brush but followed Kyna right in  - if she went a bit too far he just came back to hang out with me. ( I am sure he will get braver next time). The 2 of them ran pretty hard and had a grand ol time - the tall grass was night and dew covered and so they came back wet and with sand covering them up to their tummies :) (I had a blanket down in the van that caught most of it :).
Todays card  is using an image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Fancy Boceto' by Enys Guerrero and I colored her with prismacolor pencils.
I really had meant to do her in purple but somehow she ended up pink :) I added some pink ribbons, a couple rhinestones and some gold corner stickers too.
All for me this am - gotta get some cleaning done around my house today :)

Pups

 Hallo,
Just a quick post this am - a picture of my spoiled pups from yesterday (after a long walk and about 45 minutes general rowdiness in the yard)
The foxy looking one is  my girl Kyna - she is a rescue and is about a year and 1/2 old - half Australian shepherd and half chow - very sweet and smart!!
The big boy behind her is our new puppy and he is also a rescue - he is about 5 and a 1/2 months old now and weighs 52 pounds already. He is very smart and very much an attention hog - wants to be a lap doggy. He is a rowdy boy but slowly learning his manners. He is all german shepherd and will be a BIG boy - probably at least 80 pounds....
All for the day - off to the craft room :)

Sweet pea Stampers - Thinking of you.

Hallo,
Welcome to another Sweet Pea Stampers challenge - this time we are doing a 'Thinking of you/Sympathy' card.
I chose an image from Norma J Burnell called "My Deep Love" and colored it with prismacolor pencils.
This image is available as a rubber stamp as well as a digital image.
I added a silver die cut in the background and the tag of the same silver paper, framed the image with some pretty seed beads and added some pretty flowers in matchy matchy colors, and lastly 2 small metal charms from my stash.
All for me today - tons of errands and fun stuff on my plate today!
Hope your day is busy, happy and healthy!!!!

 Hallo,
Just a short little note before I head off to work tonight - after a bit over 2 weeks off it is really hard to have to go back to work!!!!!
I had a busy 2 weeks - had a craft fair and a 3 day Nursing Conference, and a couple pieces of mandatory education for work and spent the last few days cleaning house, yard and trying to reorganize my craft room and such (since I pretty much tore it all apart getting stuff out for the craft fair)  - ran to Panama City to change out stuff in my craft booth over there and now am trying to get pics of stuff back on my Etsy shop.....oh yes and lots of walks with the puppies, a doctors appointment, vet appointment for the new pup....
Just a couple zentangles to show you today - about all I have had time to do this week except a bit of coloring :) I really like how the flower ones turned out!!! I made copies of them and will try coloring them up sooner or later :).
Well better get my butt out the door.....
     Have a great weekend!!!!!
