Steampunk fairy

Hallo,
Finally getting a bit of energy going here - sleep was not to be had this am....got home from work and took the pups for a short slow walk around the block (vet told me not to walk my big boy for 2 weeks after getting him fixed - ya right, day 2 and he is a wild man and I am not going to sedate him - 15 minutes nice and easy and he was fine)
So I get to sleep and about an hour and 1/2 later the fence guy calls and wants to come do the estimate (and we really need to get the fence done - and at least I don't have to work tonight...)
So get that done and am back in bed and my DD starts texting me and then calls and we are on the phone for a bit over a half hour - but thats ok cause we haven't had much time to talk lately as school is keeping her busy, and she leaves for 6 weeks in Germany the day after her last final, so I wont see her till the end of June - my hubby is flying up to drive her car home next week so he will get to see her before she goes.....
So at that point I am in bed and lay the phone on my pillow and briefly thought about shutting my alarm off and was more than half asleep and didn't want to roll over :) - so when the alarm goes off at 230 pm, I try to shut it off and go back to sleep but both my pups have long since learned that the alarm means I should be getting up and they make sure  I get up  :)
Ah well - stiff and sore anyhow so I did my stretches and walked up to check the mail and have been playing on the computer ever since.....should try and do some cleaning.....
Well on to todays project - Another steampunk style box and this one I did with a matching chipboard book that could be used for pics or a mini journal.....
I used an image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Steampunk Doll' by Meredith Dillman and colored her with prismacolor pencils, cut her out with a Spellbinders die and edged it with gold metallic pen. I also added some glitter here and there.
I used one of my decorated sanddollar seashells that finished off lately , a metal compass charm with a flat backed pearl for the center and a corner piece made from a clay mold.
The 'feet' of the box and the lid 'pull' (for lack of a better word) are old drawer pulls which look good with the steampunk theme.
All for today - a quick update in my etsy shop and maybe a bit of much needed house cleaning!!!

Steampunk Traveler

 Hallo,
I have another box to show you today - steampunk style with a rubber stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Voyage II' by Lucy Loo.
I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders die using an 'out-of-the-box technique.
I covered the box with pretty papers to compliment the image and added some steampunky embellishments - from Tim Holtz and a corner embellishments made with clay.
My big baby (my 80 pound german shepard puppy) is doing well this am after getting fixed yesterday - still moving a bit slow but otherwise doing well.
So other that a short errand I will be hanging out in the house today - puppy hates the cone of shame but he will have to wear it while I am gone.....
  Have a great day!!!

Purple and gold, gold and purple...

 Hallo,
Well the pups got me out for my morning walk early and then I took my big boy to the vet this am to get him 'fixed' so am playing on the computer for a bit while I wait to go pick him up....
I did this wax piece when I first started playing with the encaustic a couple years ago and just yesterday finally got it framed and finished off .
I added some decorative gold corners made of clay. The was piece is 8 by 8 inches and framed in a 10 by 10 inch frame.
All for today - more photos to edit and some cleaning to do before I go to the craft room.... or just head to the craft room.... :)

Ahhhh sunset.....

 Hallo,
A few pics from last evening sitting at the pizza place on the water watching the sunset - the first 2 are only a few minutes apart but the second one is already a bit less orangey and then the last one as the colors started to fade even more.
Will have some crafty stuff to show you tomorrow - got a bit of time in the craft room yesterday and today.
Tomorrow am I have to take my puppy to the vet to get 'fixed' so I will be home most of the day after that - should do some house cleaning and then maybe a bit more time in the craft room.
All for today - headed out with the hubby for a couple hours here....

Steampunk tangle

 Hallo,
I am a bit slow on the go this am - slept later than I planned (good thing I ended up on call last night because I fell asleep on the couch at 930 and then still got up late  this am)
I finished off this steampunk tangle last week and managed to get it framed yesterday.
I did the tangle on clayboard - so nice and smooth to work on!!! I used a few steampunk style tangles that I like and then edged the board with gold metallic pen.
I used a black matt and frame to display this with and just love how it turned out.
All for this am - will see if I can manage to get some things done before work tonight.

Showing you another Tarot/reading card today with an image from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Charity Dunhauer.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and added some gold pearl drops and gold stickers.
I layered her to a pretty gold shimmery cardstock that was stamped and embossed with black using stamps from Papertrey Ink.

White Lepard

Hallo,
Well my day was a bit busy - got off work and took one cat to the vet (just checkup and shots) and then took the pups for a walk before trying to get a nap - got about an hour and 50 minutes before the Lowes guys (who was sposed to come at 1 pm) rang the doorbell at 1050 am - told him to come back at 1  but then couldn't get back to sleep....
So he comes back at 1 when the hubby was here too and between that and picking up cat from the vet and only less than 2 hours sleep I completely forgot I had made an appointment for a massage - so I missed that and I am sure they werenot happy with me!!!
Anyhow - I managed to do some much needed house cleaning - mainly because I knew if I sat down I would fall asleep - seem to have gotten a second wind now, for a bit anyhow....
Well showing you 2 more cards for the Tarot/reading card series both done with the same image from  Sweet Pea Stamps artist Teresa Sherman.
I colored both with prismacolor pencils and layered them to pretty shimmery gold cardstock and edged both panels with a gold metallic marker and then added some gold corner stickers.
The back is decorated with stamps embossed in black from Papertrey Ink!!
All for today - time to move again or I will be asleep :)

DFD - Birdie sweet

Hallo,
Another rainy day here in NW Florida - makes for a great crafting day (although I should do some cleaning....) and I do need to run out and do a couple errands too....hoping for at least a short break in the rain to get the pups for a walk since I work tonight and they will only get a short walk tomorrow too(if that because it looks to be raining all day tomorrow too...)
Well I have another in the Tarot/reading card series for you today and this time I used a beautiful image from  ADFD - A Day for Daisies. I colored her up with prismacolor pencils onto Neenah Desert Storm (a nice smooth kraft colored cardstock). I edged the layers both with gold metallic pen and added some gold flower stickers too.
I am entering her in the current challenge over at ADFD which is for 'Anything Goes' - pop over here and join in - http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/

The back is done with stamps from Papertrey Ink - embossed in black onto the shimmery gold cardstock to match the others in the set.
Well its about time to get off the computer and do something a bit more productive :)

Fox Fairy

Hallo,
Ahhhh Sunday morning in the rain......
Yesterday was a busy one - up and running early, got the pups for a walk and headed over to Stone Soup to set up for the 'Fairy Fair' (arts, crafts, jewelry, readings, meditation ect...) The weather was nice to us - not too hot and it didn't rain - well we got some sprinkles about 330 but I had already packed up by then.....
I didn't sell much at the Fairy Fair but met and talked to a lot of great people so it was fun.
The hubby helped me set up and take down the big stuff - my display shelf and the tent....
And from there I went over to the grand opening of HH Arts - the new art gallery in town and where I have my studio space (and a few pieces of art hanging on the wall too :)
This morning it is cool and rainy so a cup of hot tea and listening to the rain ....
Todays project is another in the Tarot/reading card series with another image from Sweet Pea Stamps. She is called 'The Protector and is by artist Rebecca Sinz.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and edged both panels with a gold metallic pen and then added some gold corner stickers.
All for now - I am headed into the craft room for a bit and see what I can get finished up today....

The Black Pearl

 Hallo
Well I am showing you today the first project completed since I got into my new studio. From my new adventure is encaustic wax painting but somehow my stamping addiction always creeps in :)
After many layers of wax painting for the base and background I used a photo transfer  technique for the ship and then I embedded the pirate image which I have had colored up for some time now - he was colored with prismacolor pencils.
Lastly I added real oyster shells with a black pearl and a gold sword both made of polymer clay - the sword was done with a silicone mold.
I really had fun playing with this and am happy to say that it turned out almost exactly as I had planned on.
The images I used are from Sweet Pea Stamps - Black Pearl and Ancient One by Joanne Schempp.
  Take care

Another fairy reading card....

Hallo,
Just a short note this am as I need to get in some quick yard work and head off to the studio for some serious wax time (Its still so fun to hear myself say - " I am off to the studio" :)
This is another in the reading card series I am doing - I used a Sweet Pea Stamps image from Amy Brown called Fairy 2 and colored her with prismacolor pencils.
I added some stickles glitter to her wings and gold corner stickers.
The main image is backed to a shimmery gold heavy cardstock that I stamped and embossed in black with some medallion stamps from Papertrey Ink.
I am really having fun with this series and I really hope she likes them!!!!
All for now - Take Care
