Steampunk Halloween

Hallo,
Another beautiful cool morning today, the pups have already taken me for my walk and now I am trying to get up the ambition to do some yard work.....really needs to get done......
Showing you a project for Halloween - a steampunk style Halloween hanging.
I used a great image from Holly Durr over at Sweet Pea Stamps called 'All Aboard' and colored her with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
I edged all the layers with a copper metallic pen.
I started with the chandelier paper and added some chipboard pieces that I sprayed with silver glimmer mist and then swiped over the textures with walnut stain distress ink when the glimmer mist was dry.
I also used a mist spray on the orange flowers - from Maya Road I think. Added a silver metal flower and some Halloween doo dads and some rhinestones.....
It is about 8.5 inches wide and 11 and 3/4 inches tall.
All for today - yard work, paper work, errands to run and some studying to do for a class I am taking the next 2 days.....

Steampunk Mermaid box

 Hallo,
Well it has been a busy few weeks here - getting all the paperwork in order for my new job at the hospital on base (military security clearances and all the other usual Nursing stuff)
The weather has been nice and cool in the morning so the pups have been getting long walks and I have managed to get a bunch of yard work done.
Enjoying not having to work the weekends and spending a bit more time with the hubby.....
Anyhow - not as much getting done in the craft room but I managed to finish this one off today.
I altered a cigar box with all kinds of pretties and this AWESOME image from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Teresa Sherman called 'Steampunk Mermaid"
I covered the sides and top with pretty, nautical steampunkish paper and edged them with copper metallic pen.
I added an old drawer pull (spray painted black) as a handle to open the box and some other old drawer pulls for the 'feet' on the box.
I lined the inside bottom with felt and the top of the lid with more paper and some bronze sticker embellishment from my stash.
For the main image I colored her with prismacolor and polychrome pencils and edged her panel with copper metallic pen also.
Then I went a bit nuts with pretties - the black corner piece was done with clay in a mold, a silver metallic flower, and in the opposite corner a metal compass piece with a small clay 'pearl' and a rhinestone. And the last pile of pretties is several 'gears' made from clay with a mold, a seashell decoupaged with a clock patterned paper, a metal gear, a metal turtle and lastly a blue ceramic divers helmut that came in the last box of 'red rose tea' that I opened.
And as if that wasn't enough I had these cute little bottles and I wanted to use one so I added some gold beads inside it and tied it to the handle with a silver tie.
Me thinks I couldn't have added another thing .......but I do like how it turned out!!!
All for today - tons of other projects both house, yard and craft room to get working on....

Little fish, Little fish....

Hallo,
Well its been a busy couple of days running errands,  doctors appointment, spent the day today at the studio playing and tonight is the reception for the 'Black and White' themed art show at the Arts and Design Society so I made some good treats to take for our pot luck....
Found out today that I start my new job on the 28 of Sept. - was hoping for a bit earlier but I will take it!!!
I have 2 weeks now that I can try and catch up on stuff around my house and yard and craft room without having to worry about finding a job!!!!
Todays project is another picture frame using the cute little 'Mer-baby' by Sweet Pea Stamps artist Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.
I colored him with prismacolor and polychrome pencils and edged his panel with gold metallic pen.
While I was looking for the charms I used on the last project I posted I found these adorable quilled fishes in my stash and they fit this little guy perfectly!!!
All for now - gotta get out the door, who knows maybe I will win something tonight (I won an Honorable Mention last time so maybe I will be lucky again :)

Be a good boy

Hallo,
Well I haven't accomplished much today....got the pups for a walk and then eventually went to a couple thrift stores and lunch with a friend as I could tell I wasn't going to get anything productive done at home anyway - besides it had been too long and catching up needed to get done too :)
So will stop in to show you another project I finished up the other day and then try and do some cleaning around the house....
This sweet little Mer-baby is by Sweet Pea Stamps artist - Mitzi Sato-Wuiff (AKA - Aurora Wings).
I colored him with prismacolor and polychrome pencils and then edged his layer with gold metallic pen. The background paper is textured and I used distress ink to color it - Looked like bubbles to me so I thought it went well with this little cutie!!
I used a frame from my stash and used some gold metallic paste to highlight the phrase and then after some searching found these fish and seashell charms in my stash also.
The picture is 5 by 7 with the frame being about 8 by 10 in measurement.
All for today - time to get my cleaning hat on and get a move on......

Butterflies

Hallo,
Well my morning walk is accomplished and breakfast done so now I need to get up from the computer and get myself busy....house to clean, projects to do....and a blog post to write :)
Another altered journal here for you today - same image as the last one on Sunday - 'Real in Dreams' by Karen Middleton at Sweet Pea Stamps.
I colored her with prismacolor and polychrome pencils and edged the panel with gold metallic pen.
The book covers and the paper flowers were sprayed with glimmer mist and the butterflies had been sprayed with another spray product in an orange but cant remember which one right now....
I edged the covers of the book with gold metallic pen and covered the backs with scrapbook paper to match....
Added some cool corner dodads and some beaded circles for the butterflies and lastly a ribbon or 2 for the book rings.
All for today - Take Care

Goose tangle

 Hallo,
   Happy Labor Day!!!!
Popping in this am to show you a vase I finished off yesterday. I called it 'goose tangle' for a lack of a better name - the bottle I used was from 'gray goose' vodka. My Hubby works at the recycle center on base so can get me bottle when I need them - this brand of vodka doesn't have any raised letters in the glass so once I get the label off it is nice and smooth to paint and decorate.
I used a sharpie extra fine black pen and mostly just added a few designs a night for a few while sitting on the couch watching tv....
Then when I am done adding tangles I seal it first with 'workable fixative' and then several layers of clear acrylic sealer so it can be washed with a damp cloth.
All for today - pups have already had their walk so now its time to go to the craft room and clean house or maybe some yard work or a bit of each maybe.....

Dreams

Hallo, Well I finally have my craft room(s) back in normal working order - my main craft room doubles as my DD room when she is home from college so I have to clear off her bed and stack stuff out of the way and such so now most everything is out where I can see it again and I can start finishing off some projects again. In the summer I color alot and work on tangle projects (come back tomorrow) so now I can take all those colored images and put them into projects.
Todays project is a dainty journal using an image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Real in Dreams' by Karen Middleton.
I colored her with prismacolor and polychrome pencils and added her to this journal.
This was a journal from Heidi Swap that I found for over half off at Tuesday Mornings and the cover has these wonderful textures on them. I sprayed the front and back cover with some misting sprays that have some glitter/shimmer in them so its really pretty IRL. The inside of the covers are covered with matching scrapbook paper.
The journal has 6 pages of nice cardstock so it could be used as a journal, sketchbook or mini scrapbook.
All for today - back to the craft room - happy me!!!!
