Hallo,
Just a quick rainy morning post this am - what a great day to sleep (after working all night :). I do love sleeping on rainy days!!! And if it rains all day I will get to sleep a bit later than yesterday because the DD's softball game will be postponed.
I did the sunset background with ink pads direct to paper.
All the stamps are from Gina K.
The pier and the man and boy are not normally silhouettes, but I wanted them, to be so I just colored them in with a black sharpie :)
All for this am - off to my nice soft, warm bed :)

Mo's Bingo

Hallo,

A quick post this am - finished this card off yesterday evening and took a couple pics when I got home from work, and here I am to hello and goodnight :)

I did this card for the current challenge over at Mo's - www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com

The challenge today was Bingo - and the row I chose was die cuts, dry embossing and brads.

I used a Spellbinder die cut for behind the main image and used a texture folder on both the die cut and the background (the background was sanded to reveal the white core) and the little buttons are actually brads.

The main image is of course from Mo's and is colored with prismacolor pencils.

I used some dimensional fabric paint from Tulip for the corner accents.

All for this am - off to sleep and then up early to catch my DD's softball game (if its not raining...) and back to work tonight.....

Flourishes FTTC on 2-14

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!

I am back for another Timeless Tuesday challenege this am. Beate is our challenge host today and she asked us to make a card for someone you love and to use the color red.

I was finishing up some Valentine cards when I made these and used one of my newer sets from Flourishes as well as one older set.

On this first card, I stamped the roses in tattered rose distress ink all over the front of the card and then stamped the big heart over it with memento black ink.

I colored the big heart with copics and then embossed the phrase and corners with black. and finally edged the card with a red copic.

For my second card - I stamped the heart onto white cardstock and colored again with copics and embossed the phrase with black. I cut it out with a Spellbinders matching heart die and then edged it with mettalic gold pen.

The background is coredinations paper run through a texture folder and sanded off. I added some gold sticker corners and then mounted to a red card base.

The kids woke me up when they got home after softball practice and I stumbled around the house for a bit trying to wake up ....ate supper and gave up and went to bed ...ahhh the joys of working night shift......good thing I slept good because I just got talked into and extra shift tonight....heavy sigh....ah well the budget could always use it.....

All for this am - errands to finish and some craft room time hopefully.

MFT sketch

Hallo,
It has been awhile since I got a sketch card done for the wednesday challenge with My Favorite Things - not only got it done but on time this time, if barely :).
All the stamps are from My Favorite Things and colored with copics.
I ended up with very similar colors with both - feeling a bit like spring :)
The rose on the first card started out white but I dadded on some of the matching copic marker and then spritzed it with a bit of alcohol to blend the colors a bit (the alcohol works better than water to blend the copics...).
Well am posting this for Monday which is when I had ointended to get it done.....but my sleep got all messed up yesterday and, well, it didn't get done until today....and after being up most of the day yesterday, even though I slept good last night - it usually takes me a day to recover from an "all dayer" (opposite of all nighter for you day shift folks :). And to make it more fun - I got talked into an extra shift this am (tuesday am.....backposting...) so I am going to try and get a good long nap early, as late day just hasn't been working lately.....blah, blah, blah.... :)

Shiny Bots

Brrrrrr Hallo,
It is cold in NW Florida this am!!!!
A quick post before I take myself off to bed this am....
I did up some ATC's for the stamp convention I went to last weekend - the contest was a 'robot' themed.
The stamp is from My Favorite Things and is embossed with silver onto black cardstock, cut out with a Spellbinders die and edged with a silver mettalic pen.
I layered him to silver shiny cardstock that I ran through one of 2 texture folders and then highlighted the texture with black ink.
I then went back and highlighted spots on the robots with mettalic pencils - some silver and some gold .

Spring Nest

Hallo,
Well my week off work comes to an end today as I work tonight but it has been so very nice - started with the stamp convention last weekend (met lots of great people and got lots of new goodies to play with :), then I managed to get alot of yard work done and a little house work, and alot of quality time in the stamp room :) All good things come to an end.....
It was too cool out for much yard work this am, and windy to boot so I didn't do too much outside, went for a walk with my pooch and cleaned out some of the rain gutters....
Finished off the am with some house work and then went to lunch with my DH. The teenagers were out of the house by 8 am - DD for a softball fundraiser and DS to march with ROTC in one of the local Mardi Gra parades. They both go in about 2ish and DS was off again to spend the night at a friends.
I am headed for a pre-night shift nap here in a couple minutes.....
I did this card for this weeks challenge over at Outlines - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com which is a sketch this week.
I used papers from Blue Bunny and My Minds Eye, a die from Heartfelt Creations (one of my stamp convention goodies) and of course the stamp is from Outlines.
I stamped the image onto some of the DP from one of the packs and then did a bit of light coloring with copics. I will have to say the sketch had me stumped for a bit but the pretty papers made it soooo easy - once I got started!!
All for today - gotta get a nap or 3 AM will be a headbanger (as in bang head against wall to stay awake :) hee hee.....

CSS Febr. Inspiration Hop

Hallo,
Time for another Gina K CSS Alumni blog hop!!!! This time we are using an awesome photo for inspiration.
The photo reminds me of Italy - especially down along the southern coast, and I love the colors too.

I used the boat from the 'Lazy Days of Summer ' set and the mountain from the 'Happy Camper' set.
I colored the scene with copics and prismacolor pencils and cut out the main scene as well as an additional boat.
Every time I think of Italy, I think of all the traveling that we did while we were stationed in Germany and that I would love to go back and spend more time in Italy, and France, and England, and OK well everywhere :).....that is how I decided on the background paper :)

Noontime challenge

Hallo,
Short note to get my challenge care on board....The Fujan family is going over to Pensacola tonight to see Jeff Dunham. He is the comedian with the puppets - we have watched him on TV several times and he is always pretty funny.
I did this card for todays noontime challenge over at Flourishes for release week. This challenge was to use a frame.

I was going for a vintage type look, not sure if it hit the mark or not....
I stamped the orchids onto the craft paper (after masking for the frame) and colored them with prismacolor pencils (they didn't color up as well as I like but then again kraft cardstock isn't the easiest to color on either....)
I also stamped a couple extra , also on kraft cardstock, and layered them up and then put an extra one in the bottom right hand corner.
I did a bit of sponging with tea dye ink and added some purple dots with a tulip fabric paint tube....

Sweetheart

I made this card for todays lunch-time challenge, which was a photo inspiration. The photo was pinks and blacks and had the neatest cameos - I really wanted to add a cameo but didn't have any made up. I have a prety cameo mold but haven't made any in awhile and they do take a bit of time....so no cameo.
I pulled out several sets for this card - the lilacs set and one of my newest sets the Sweetheart set. I stamped the heart, banner and flowers seperatly and colored them with copics. I cut the heart with the matching Spellbinders die and fussy cut the rest and layered them up.
I used a new die cut that I got this last weekend at the stamp convention - from Cheery Lynn.
I added double sided tape to the edges and added some clear glitter for a bit extra foof (accually the glitter was an afterthought when #1 the card needed a touch more and #2 the double-sided tape I used to attach the frame die showed too much....its hard BTW to fit the tape in and around stuff already there.....).

Well I managed to get all the dirt layed into the new tiered up flower beds today - tomorrow I start replanting the bulbs I dug up, and finished weeding one last section. I didn't do as much in the yard today - was a bit sore from monday & tuesday.....I need to do a bit of house work sometime too.....would rather do yard work or just about anything than housework.....sigh.....

Cherry Blossom Hummingbirds

Hallo,

I have been so excited about this - I am this months Guest Designer for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenges!!!!! How fun is that!!! Flourishes is one of my all-time favorite stamp companies, I am so addicted to all their flower sets!!!!

The challenge this week is from Makiko - 'Fly away with me' - use birds and/or bird elements on your project.

I dug out some of my hoarded stash of washi paper for today's project. This sheet is gorgeous gold tones with lots of shimmers.

I stamped the cherry blossums and the small hummingbird onto the washi paper with memento black and then colored with copics. Some of the texture and shimmer of the washi shows through the ink making it look kinda watercolorish.

The bigger hummingbird I stamped onto white cardstock and colored with copics and then added some glitter pens on top of the copics - fussy cut him out and layered him over the flowers.

The phrase is also from Flourishes - embossed in black.

I used the 'Cherry Blossums' and 'Humming Along'

sets.

The frame is one that I found at a flea market type store a long time ago and have been waiting for just the right piece to put in it (I accually found 3 in a set). The frame origionally had an oriental picture in it but it was faded, stained and torn but the frame was in good shape :)

Forever Love

Hallo,
Just a quick card for you this evening - had a very busy day doing yard work . All my flower beds are now done as far as the tiering up and I even got dirt layed in about half of them (gotta go back for more dirt :).
Only 2 patches yet to weed, one small and the other big.
Managed to get a bit of stamping time and made this up for the first release challenge for this months release over at Flourishes.
The challenge was for black, white and one other color. My one other color is the 'carmel' from Adarondak.
First I stamped the roses and then I used the ink pad on the white paper roses I had - spritzed them with water so the color softened a bit. The yellow paper is a shade lighter but I swiped the edges with the ink pad as well as the base cardstock.
Then I embossed the couple, phrase and corners with black. The 'bubbles' were done with a black pearl pen (tulip ) as were the corner pearls.

Steampunk Robot

I am back posting again today - I hate holes in my blog....
I made this following this weeks sketch challenge from MyFavorite Things but alas was a couple hours too late getting it loaded for the challenge...sigh....
I had a few ATC's left from my weekend trip to the stamp convention so I thought I would use one on a card :)
The stamp is from MFT - embossed with silver onto black and highlighted with a gold mettalic pencil. It is cut out with a Spellbinders die.
The first layer is silver cardstock that I ran through a gears texture folder and then highlighted with black ink.
The next layer is plain silver paper and the corners are a coredinations paper (black with a gold core) also ran through a texture folder - a different gears folder, and sanded off to reveal the gold.
I used a gold viva decor pen for the corner pearls and mettalic foil cut with a Spellbinders die for the flower accent.

Sunday when I got back I didn't do too much...unpacked and sorted my goodies and then went to a Superbowl party for awhile with DH..

Stamp Convention

Hallo,
Backposting for saturday night - was plum tired after getting back from a day of Rubber Heaven :)
My rubber weekend started out on friday with 2 great stamp stores in Atlanta - Rubber Stamp Fantasy and Impressive Ideas. I bumped into a great group of ladies also in town for the convention some of whom are Nurses also - we bumped into each other at both stamp stores and then got together Saturday evening for dinner. I also go to meet Jenny Gropp over at Impressive Ideas - she is so sweet!!! (I didn't get a picture :( )
Then on saturday was the convention and TONS of awesome goodies - and to top it off I got to meet blog friends Carla Suto that I met through Gina K and Stamp TV and Cheryl Lea who I met just recently through Flourishes . Top picture is me, Carla and Cheryl - they are both just the sweetest!!!!
I didn't take pics of all my goodies - the light in my hotel room was yuk and then when I got home today I started putting things away and forgot....but I did end up with goodies from 'Too Much Fun', ' Heartfelt Creations', Stampland', 'Stamp Camp' - a bunch of cool backgrounders!!, 'Lost Coast Designs', 'Outlines', 'Impression Obsession'....I think that's all.
I took this week off work so am looking forward to playing!!!
Saturday evening I went to dinner with Cheryl and the group of ladies I met on friday and the second pic is of them. Left to right (and I apologize if I got some names wrong - I am horrible with names - I emailed Cheryl as she wrote down everyones info and I was too excited and neglected to....the gals will probably say I was too busy talking (I tend to be a bit of a blabber mouth sometimes.....my friends and coworkers will say NO!!!! REALLY!!!! and roll their eyes :) hee hee....I am not always that chatty, honest!!! Ok - left to right - Cheryl, Kim, Lori, Bertha, and Jane. What a great group of gals - I had a great time!!!
To top the weekend off - when I got back to the hotel sat. night I checked my email and found out that I won this week over at Impression Obsession - WOW!!! More cool rubber coming my way!!!
All for tonight - its only 1 am sunday night - my night owl tendencies acting up again.....I had better get back to bed and get some sleep - I have yard work and stamping to do tomorrow!!!

Dino Wreck - or - Party like a Dino....

Hallo,

Just a cute little card for you in the wee hours of the morning....I had a hard time waking up this afternoon and when I did get moving I had alot of errands to run, packed for my little weekend trip to the stamp convention, and went to a fund raiser for my DD's softball team and then was tired so I went to bed when everyone else did - only to wak up a couple hours later bright eyed and awake.....ah such is the life of a night shift worker .....

Since I am not sure if I will have time to post later today I will show you this card I made for a challenge over at Stamp TV awhile back. I have a gift box in mind (and started) for this idea - invatations and gift box for a boy birthday party - "Dino Wreck"
I well remember my DS playing with dinosaurs and his cars pretending that the dino's were eating the cars and such....

All stamps from Gina K - colored with copics and then did some 'distressing' on the cars :) It made me smile when I thought of this card - still makes me smile :)

All for tonight - been blog surfin long enough, time to try for a bit more sleep.....

Flourishes sketch

Short note before I head to bed this am for a couple hours sleep - tomorrow I head to Atlanta for some stamp shopping at the 2 stamps stores, an Archievers and then the Stamp Convention on saturday!!! Yipppeee!!!

Oriental Outlines Valentine

Hallo,
Well I managed a little craft time yesterday afternoon (and no I didn't do my house work first like I said I would....but it did get done :)
I did this card for the current challenge over at the Outlines blog for 'hearts'. Check it out here - http://www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com/
I was trying for an oriental style Valentines card - I dug out my coveted and hoarded washi paper last week and am determined to use some of it. The piece of washi paper I chose for today was a scrap that was just a bit bigger than card size and was mainly red, white and black - with some swirls of blue.
The stamp I used from Outlines has some heart shapes in it so I colored it with copics to match the paper and colored 2 extra of the hearts to cut out for decoration.
The butterfly was left from another project and has been run through a texture folder - but it is very hard to see in the photo.....
I used some silver mettalic pen to edge both the panels and added a few rhinestones too.

Well I had planned on doing some more yard work this am but doesn't look like the weather is going to let me - not raining yet but radar looks like it will be within the hour.....off for a quick walk and then if the rain holds off will try some yard work otherwise it is a day at the craft table for me :) (come on rain :)
I work tonight but then I have 9 days off - going to a Stamp convention near Atlanta GA this weekend and then the rest of the week will be a staycation at home - always lots to do and the craft table is always ready :)

Cuppa Tea

Hallo,
Well I have managed to get alot of yard work done between yesterday and today - only on small portion of the flower bed to get tiered up and then 2 more portions to get weeded and round 1 will be done (round 2 will be when the flowers I ordered from Dutch gardens come in as I plant and then the endless rounds of weeding will start - that's the hard part, especially when the summer heat starts!) I even managed to get some house work done yesterday and a walk in this am. I do have some errands that I have to do (after a shower) and then a bit of house work - so I should get some craft room time later this afternoon.
I thought I would stop in here while I ate lunch and show you a card, just in case my craft room time gets late and I run out of daylight to take pics.
I did this card some time ago for a challenge over at Stamp TV - I just haven't shared it here yet.
The stamps are from Gina K and colored with prismacolor pencils - a real quick and simple card - probably took longer for me to tell you about my yard work than it did to make the card :)
Well all for now - time to clean up and get some errands done so I can get to the craft room . (oh and that bit of house work too....before the craft room...yes, before.....defiantly before, or it won't get done....sigh.....).

Wedding cards - Flourishes

Hallo,
Just a short post before I get off to bed this am for a couple (4 or 5 ) hours sleep ....I have some yard work I want to do when I wake up, as the weather is sposed to be nice and house work too so I am not sure if I will get to the craft room today or not....
I did these wedding (or anniversary ) cards one day last week. The stamps are all from Flourishes and the cards are all pretty much alike - I did vary betweeen silver and gold ( and some white) for the embossing, papers and pearl accents but the base cardstock and the flower and ribbon accents stayed the same. They were very quick to make up and look very nice IRL!!!
I just love this stamp set - I have a couple wedding in the next couple months so need to stock up.
okay dokay it is time for me to get some sleep!!!!

Simple Birdie

yaaawwnnn, stretch, ok I am up.....
quick blog post, shower and off to work again :)
This was a quick card for me yesterday - took the little birdie from my stash of colored images (colored with copics) and from there putting the card together was easy.
I used a green card base and some floral patterned DP, some Spellbinders dies cuts - labels and fancy tags, and some viva decor pen in copper.
This little bird is from Gina K of course.

A walk at sunset

Hallo,
Just a quick card today - not too much time in the craft room. I did a bit of yard work after sleeping a bit later this am and taking the dog for a walk.....
The kids were out the door at 630 am to help out with a swim meet this weekend, I saw them off and went back to bed :)
Lunch with the DH and then a bit of craft time before my pre-night shift work nap...
I did the background direct to paper with ink pads and then used a Gina K stamp for my silhouettes - the stamp is not normally a silhoutte but I wanted one for the sunset scene so I just colored it in with a black copic marker (and I can see that I have some streek marks.....bummer...will have to watch that closer next time). The phrase is also from Gina K and the blue dot accents are a dimensional fabric paint from Tulip - works great on paper too!!

It is time for a nap now for me - going to stop up at the High School ball fields on my way to work ( a bit early ) to watch the softball team scrimmage tonight (DD is playing softball this year) - and then off to work....

Hallo,
A quiet friday evening - at least for the moment (the teens are outside hanging out int he yard - I have extra's in the house as I often do :)
I did this card with a Valentine theme/colors in mind. I used one of my newer sets from Flourishes.
The couple is embossed with glitter gold onto gold shimmer paper and cut out with a Spellbinders die.
The background is coredinations paper with a texture die and sanded off to reveal the red core.
This didn't turn out quite how I envisioned but its ok....

I managed to get the flower beds in the back part of my yard finished off this morning....tomorrow will start on the side of the house. I am hoping that by raising the beds up a bit higher they will be easier to weed come summer.

All for tonight - time for the couch and a good book (or some coloring....) .

Oriental Hummingbird

Hallo,
Yup it be raining!!!! It was sposed to be a pretty bad storm but it fizzled for the most part which is ok - we are still getting the rain which we need just not the wind and scary stuff!!!!
I managed to get some more work done on the flower beds this am and then ran over to hang out with my Stampin' group for a bit....
I did this card for this weeks Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes.
The challenge was to make a center step card.
I had this image and the hummer colored up already so I just found some matching papers and put it together. I decided that it was high time I used some of the washi paper I have been hoarding for - well some of it for 2/3 years, and one batch for just a year....I found a piece that had just the right shade of pink to match too!!!

You will probably be seeing more of my washi paper in the near future - I LOVE these papers!!! (after all if I never use it how can I buy more :) - and I do have a stamp convention to go to next week!!!)
The stamps are from Flourishes of course and are colored with prismacolor pencils. The flowers were cut out with a Spellbinders die and edged with gold metallic pen and the hummer was cut out by hand an glued so he was off the edge a bit.

Outlines in blue

Hallo,
A couple quick cards for you today using some stamps from Outlines and the color blue for their current challenge over at the Outlines blog - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I used this same flower stamp for last weeks challenge too....this time I colored the flowers and cut them out to layer onto some DP along with another Outlines stamp.
I had so much fun coloring that I had enough flowers for 2 cards :) so I varied the color just a bit and went a bit darker on the second one.
I slept till about 2 today and then got up and did a bit of yard work - I am redoing the borders around my flower beds and making them 2 or 3 layers up with 4X4's (so I won't have to bend down so far to pull weeds :)
Well I had trenches dug for one set of flower bed and it is sposed to rain like crazy tomorrow so I don't want them to get washed back in, only took me about an hour and half to finish that section. If the rain holds off I will do a bit more in the am - about an hour and half of stooping, kneeling and digging is about all my knees and back will do at one time but I am slowly getting it done.

Rusty Robots

Hallo,
A sleepy me this am, busy night at work and off to bed woth me as soon as I show you these :)
I am doing some ATC's to trade at the stamp Convention near Atlanta the first weekend of Febr. and the theme is 'robots'
I used stamps from My Favorite Things and colored them to look like they are a bit rusty :) This robot had little gears on his front - so I took some of the tiny watch gears I had and attatched them with diamond glaze over top and then in the corner too.
The background paper is 'faux rusty metal technique' from Technique Junkies and then I added the gears and some accents with a bronze viva decor pen.

Vintage Mouses

Hallo,
A quick card for you today - got some yard work done before the rain came and some errands and as soon as I get done here it is nappy time so I can go to work tonight.
I did this card for the current challenge over at the House Mouse blog - www.housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com - the challenge being for 'black and white'.
Well mine is mostly black and white - the main image is anyway, except for the peach colored aspirin. The main image is from House Mouse.
The background is a backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms and looks like old newspaper ads - see the ad in the top left corner for cough syrup - I thought it matched this stamp pretty well, but thought it needed walnut stain ink and a bit of distressing - so the card is not ALL black and white - but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Hallo,
A quick card for you today - I am taking a lazy day here at my house, no yard work for me today (my knees told me in no uncertain terms to take the day off - I will give it a try tomorrow morning if its not raining anyway...)
I had this Mo's image colored up for awhile and so that made this a very quick card - I used a backgrounder from CHF for my stitches to fit this weeks challenge over at Mo's.
The Mo's image - cute little grump isn't she :) - is colored with prismacolor pencils.

Flowery Flowers

Hallo,
Well there is now many buckets and a big pile for 'fertilizer' in my back yard and my kids almost RAN for the shower when done - hee hee, city kids...not that I didn't take a shower too but REALLY, it wasn't that bad....
I am building my flower beds in the back yard up a bit with tiers - I want to do the side yard ones too but we will see how much time I get this spring and how long my knees hold up....
Speaking of flowers - I have 2 cards for you this evening from Outlines. The challenge this week over at the Outlines blog was Valentines and so I did them up in reds and pinks and added a few little hearts here and there. Check out the challenge here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I paper pieced some of the flowers on each one and used some heart shaped brads, a button and some liquid beads from tulip on the first, same for the second but I also used some white viva decor pen too and no button.
I thought they both turned out a bit cluttered looking but they are bright and cheerful and flowery....
All for today - the kiddos are both at a movie night party/sleep over so the DH and I are going out to eat and to see a movie - I have been wanting to see 'War Horse'

Holiday Snowman

Hallo,
Early saturday am - had to take DS to a swim meet (he helps out with the Middle School team now that the HS team is finished for the year)
Once he gets home I am corralling both my kiddos to help get a small truck load of fertilizer for my flower beds (courtesy of the local boarding stable - yes my kids are going to love me today :)
Well another CHF card for you today - this is another of the sweet digitals up on their site. I colored him with prismacolor pencils and layered him to a couple Christmassy DP's and added some stickers that I got on sale last year (2010) after Christmas :)
It is a very simpke and quick card - and I now have 10 cards made already for this coming Christmas :) Love that - I plan to try and do a couple cards a week at least, all year - it will definatly make the next Christmas season a little less rushed :)

Welcome to friday morning - Yippee - and I am even off this weekend!!!!

Worked last night so will get my little post up for you all and tuck myself into bed for a few hours :)

Another CHF card for you today

This was one of the very first stamps that I bought from the old CHF (Cornish Heritage Farms ) and I still love it!!! This stamp is not up on the new CHF store yet but you should check out all the great digitals that they do have already up!!!

I colored it with copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders labels die using an out-of-the-box technique.

I layered it to a panel of coredinations paper - a paper pad that already had texture on it - and then sanded off to reveal the lighter core. Then I distressed the edges a bit and curled one corner.

I added a couple ribbons and some corner accentrs with a viva decor pen.

Candy bright day

Hallo,
Its a bright as candy day here in NW Florida - sunny and just a bit chilly.
I did this very bright card for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog - which is for 'oldies but goodies' - not sure how old this stamp is but I had been wanting it for some time and finally got it the last time I won the challenge over at IO :).

The stamp I used is 'Candy Jars' #G2332 and I colored it with prismacolor pencils and cut it out with an out-of-the-box technique and a Spellbinders die.
The DP I used is a very bright pink with blueish/turquoise dots - so I added some turquoise glitter to the edge of the main panel and layered it to teal/turquoise paper and lastly added some blueish turquoise rhinestones.
I am not sure how I should manage my sleep time today - tuesday night I didn't sleep well so I made sure to get in a good nap yesterday afternoon, only to end up on call for work. Well since I had a good nap I expected to be up late...but was in bed by 10....and got woke up at 230 am to come into work (and got off at 730 am per usual) so I am not really tired now....so I guess I should get the house work done that I have been putting off (too cool for yard work outside today) and then probably lay down for a longer nap after lunch....Ahhh well after tonight I have 3 days(nights) off :). Maybe if I get my bum in gear I can get some craft room time in too....either way this is all for me today here in blogland :)

Kinkade - Live Life Wisely

My favorite project of the week so far to show you this am. I got this Thomas Kinkade image as the old CHF was having close out sales a couple years ago. It sounds like new CHF will still be carrying the Thomas Kinkade images which is great news for me!!!!
I colored this TK image - Gingerbread Cottage - with prismacolor pencils. I usually start with the lightest colors and work darker from there and as I get a couple layers on then I switch and start doing sections - like all the flowers and then the trees and then the stones of the house ect. ect. ect. My only problem with TK's is that I have a hard time parting with my project when I am done - I almost never do just a card with the TK's - I like to do something more permanent with them, like a frame or plaque.
This time I brought out a 3D shadow box die that I have been hoarding for this TK. This is an Accu cut die designed by my friend Vicki Chrisman - http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/
Crafty Secrects sells pre-cut sets of these die cuts which is really nice!!!
I added stamps from a couple 'scene it' sets - gates and bridges and winter I think - to the side panels. Above the main image is a phrase from a time set from CHF set.
The last picture shows this die closed and the decorative flap is stamped with another phrase from the time set as well as another decorative stamp to define the 'curtains'. I added a beaded 'rope' to the curtains with a viva decor pen.
I LOVE how this one turned out!!!! The shadow box die frames it up so nice too!!!

Wedding charms - Flourishes

Hallo,
Just a couple charm-like hangy thingsto show you today.
I did these up for the current challenge over at Flourishes for something Valentines but not a card. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/.
I have been hoarding these charms from Fancy Pants for quite awhile now but had resolved to start 'using the good stuff' so between the charms and the other good stuff - Flourishes stamps!!!
I used stamps from Flourishes ' Wedded Bliss'.
On the white one I embossed with silver and then added accents with a viva decor pearl pen and a Mr. and Mrs. ribbon, along with a white and cream ribbon to hang it with.
The red I embossed with black and used a Tulip 'beads in a bottle' in black, and added a red and black ribbon to hang it with.
For both I embossed a phrase from the same set for the back of the charm.
The charms are about 3 inches square.
All for tonight - was sposed to work tonight and even managed to get in a good nap, and am on call....so after supper and couch time with the DH, I will head off to the craft room until later cause I know I won't be sleepy when everyone else heads for bed.

Day #3 of my Welcome back CHF week :)
Todays card is one for the guys.
The main image is from the Sarah England line from old CHF - not sure if new CHF will be carrying these stamps or not.
I did the sunset direct to paper with yellow, orange and red ink pads. Then I stamped the hiker in black ink and cut out with a Spellbinders die.
The phrase and corner stamps are both from the same old CHF set (I wasn't very good about writing the names of the set on my CD holders back then - I have gotten more organized since...) I embossed the phrase in black and the corner stamps were done in brown and I edged the die with brown too. Then I found brads I liked for the corners.
I used a wood grain backgrounder with brown ink onto the kraft card base and edged the edges with the brown ink too.

Very Pink Snow Lady

A very pink tuesday morning to you all!!!
My kiddos are off school again today due to a teacher work day, so not sure what we are going to do today - probably shopping as DD needs some stuff for softball and DS needs stuff for the year round swim team, that I also need to stop at the YMCA for this afternoon and see if they know what is going on with changes to that program this year.....so therefore up early am I to post on my blog, just in case I run out of time later :).
Day #2 of my own celebration of the return of CHF - Cornish Heritage Farms.
I actually did 2 versions of this card because I couldn't decide which backgrounder I wanted to use on the background.
The Snow lady is one of CHF's digital images that I colored in pinks and cut out.
I found the pink and blue DP in my scrap drawer and thought it looked cool with my Snow Lady.
Next I pulled out pink cardstock and a couple backgrounders and embossed them in blue.
This first one is a scrapblock backgrounder. I LOVE my CHF backgrounders!!!!
The pink pearl embellishments are a dimensioal fabric paint from Tulip that works really well on paper (and wood and canvus - and fabric BTW :)
The phrases on both cards come from a CHF set of Christmas phrases and are stamped with purely pomegranete and embossed with clear powder.
I really had fun with these 2 cards - pink is not normally my color but they turned out cute (I may have to do versions in purple too :)!!

Pink lilys

Just a quick note.... I did this card for the current Timeless Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes and if I don't get done fast I will miss the deadline :) - between working the last 2 nights and the beginings of a head cold (feels like, hope not but very likely a head cold as DH and DD both have it...) I am abit slow movin today.
The inspiration photo had alot of bright colors - red, pink and some yellow and orange so this is what I ended up with today :).

I love these lilies from Flourishes and I colored them with copics - pinks and a darker maroon with a golden yellow background.
The back cardstock was stamped with a backgrounder stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms - I coated it with yellow acrylic paint and then pressed kraft cardstock to the stamp.
A bit of lace trim and some accents with a viva decor pen and time to link it up :)
No yard work for me today...but got some shopping done for DD, tomorrow will be DS's turn....

CHF week!!!

Hallo,
I have decided to celebrate the return of one of my favorite stamp companies this week by featuring cards every day this week done using stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms.
I may do addition posts also, as I do have a few challenges I would like to get done this week too, but every day this week I will show you cards done with digitals and stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms.
Now, as the new owners get CHF back up in running they have started with some awesome digital images so some of the stamps I have are not yet back available on the new store....but it does give you an idea of all the good stuff to come :)
My first card features 2 digitals from the current store. I colored them with prismacolor pencils and then used the dryer sheet technique for the main panel. After I glued the snowmen to the DP panel I ran it through my sticker machine and then attatched the dryer sheet to the front over the image which gives it a soft and fuzzy look.
I used the same DP for a strip along the side of the card and addded a matching panel of DP and some ribbon. The phrase is also from an old CHF set of Christmas phrases.
Lastly I used a viva decor pen for the bronze pearls in the corners.

Elegant in black

Just a little card to show you today for a challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com

This is my first card using sheets from Craftry Purple Frog. I won several sheets over the last couple months from challenges at Sweet Pea Stampers but the colored ink in my printer has been out so I hadn't printed out any of the sheets to use until this week :). Boy do these sheets make for quick and easy and beautiful cards!!!!
I used some silver mettalic pen on the main image and the black DP.
I used a black sparkly ribbon and some rhinestones - diamond shaped ones for the ribbon and the one on the cats eye and tiny round ones for the headpieces of the girl and cat and the girls necklace.
Lastly I used some silver sticker corners.
All for today - time for me to go to sleep :)

Snow swirls and dots

Hallo,
Just a quick post - trying to get a couple things done in the craft room and out for a walk after lunch.
Tonight at work will be interesting as I didnot sleep well last night and the chances of a nap are slim today - for one even though I didn't sleep well, I am not tired (but I know I will be...)
Todays card was done for the latest challenge over at Outlines - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
which was for snow or winter.
All stamps are from Outlines and were stamped and embossed with white. I then added some dimensional fabric paint from Tulip to the dots on the tree and swirl. The tulip paint was a white with glitter in it.
Just a quick and simple card but I always like white on blue.
All for today - maybe my afternoon walk will help me take a nap today :)

I decided to do a Valentine card for the hop tonight. The mug is from the 'Mugs and Kisses' set and so is the candy stamp. The lace stamp is from 'Nana's Needlework'
I am not always happy with the results when I try for a CAS (clean and simple) card but I think it turned out ok.
I used a cuttlebug folder and some Coredinations paper for the background - sanding off to show the pink core, and some tiny pink and white heart shaped brads from my stash.
I stamped the lace with white ink onto pink paper and then stamped the cup over that and cut it out. The candy wrapper and pink swirl on top was done with a pink spica glitter pen and then the chocoalte part is a copic marker.
Well I am the end of the hop tonight - We hope you have enjoyed it!!!
All for tonight - I have several extra teenagers in the house tonight...my kiddos are so busy these days that I hardly ever see them, so to have a houseful of my kiddos and their friends is a big smile for me tonight :)

Just a quick little post this am, as I am meeting my Chief Enabler and we are going to explore some thrift shops and antigue shops :) and then some lunch :).

I colored up this sweet image with prismacolor pencils and cut him out with a Spellbinders die and edged the die with a silver mettalic pen.
I layered him to another Spellbinders die cut from silver mettalic paper and then to the white cardbase. I added some sparkly dots in white - by tulip (found it with the fabric painting stuff - its a dimensional paint in a bottle and works great on paper :).

Another challenge card from Flourishes for you today!!! This one fell together fairly quick for me - I have a small stash of colored images and one from my stash fit for me for todays challenge.
Todays challenge is the 2012 challenge - only 2 colors, o bling, 1 embellishment and only 2 layers.
Well my 2 colors are purple and green, and my embellishment is the little gold corner stickers.

Sweetheart Daisies

I am doing a bit of backposting trying to catch up the blog today....You would think I would be all caught up because I had an extra day off (was on call for work sunday night....) but I haven't seemed to get there this week....
I did this card for the wednesday lunchtime challenge for release week over at Flourishes. This challenge was to be inspired by the 'Year of the dragon' - The photo had lots of reds, pinks and oranges in it, and I need to get busy on some Valentine cards sooooo....

I used one of the newer to me stamps from Flourishes for this card and colored the gerber daisies with prismacolor pencils.
A few folks on the Flourishes DT used a great combo of pink and craft and I really liked how it looked - so I found some pink DP that matched some of the pinks in my flowers and layered it to a kraft card base (5X7).
I cut out the flower image and the phrase with Spellbinders dies and edged them with gold mettalic pen. Then I added a red ribbon and lots of little red accents (tulip - beads in a bottle).

Hallo,
Another card for you from my stash - no stamping for me today as I worked last night and have slept all day and working again tonight....
The stamps are from Gina K and I cut them out with a Spellbinders die and then sponged some ink on with the die still in place (a bit heavier than I intended ...) I then edged the die cut with a copper mettalic pen.
The background was done with a texture folder of watch gears to match the clock/time theme of the stamps.
I used some scaps of siver and copper paper as well as adding texture to the brown base cardstock too.
All for today - just found out that I am on call for work tonight so I will be headed for the craft room later :) Yippee (although my paycheck may not say yippee....)

Dino bookmark

Hallo,

Just a quick post this evening - headed off to work in a bit...

I did this bookmark for one of my Nephews a while back...it is done onto the clear plastic sheet that clear stamps come on. I just folded it in half and added decorations.

The brown paper was a scrap of DP that I ran through a texture folder.

The Dinosaur is from Gina K and colored with copics.
I have been trying really hard to use up my scraps ands my stash. Trying to recycle too so this card fits for them both :).

Sweet Valentine

Hallo,

I have a Sweet Pea Valentines card for you today. This image is of course from Sweet Pea Stamp and is colored with prismacolor pencils.

I layered her to a background done with coredinations paper and a texture folder - sanded off for the red on black pattern. Added some rhinestones and all done.

I plan to enter her in 2 challenges - first over at Sweet Pea Stampers the challenge was to use black. Not sure if I could use another color with it but for this one I did. Check it out here - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com/

Hallo,
Is everyone having a great weekend? The weather here is warm and sunny and I am lovin it!!!!
I even went for a ride with DH on the Harley today - something I don't often do. (and yes I am a little stiff-legged this evening) We rode for just under and hour and stopped for lunch and then went back the long way - over the river and through the woods as such....
I did this card for the new release challenge over at Flourishes which was to use something new or time related. Well I managed to get another challenge card done and I even dug some hoarded treasures out and used here today :)

I don't have the die but Crafty Secrets sells packets of 3 cuts in different papers. I had bought these along time ago and was saving them....so today was a good day to 'use the good stuff' :)

Sweet Heart

Hallo,
A couple cards to start me getting in a Valentine mood to show you today.
I did these for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for 'hearts and flowers'

The stamp that I used is one of the Delt cubes - #5 (H1638).
I had origionally planned on layering the hearts on these 2 cards and then decided they looked better on their own.
For the backgrounds I stamped one side of the cube in gray over white base cardstock. With this first card I then stamped the same side in white on red paper and cut it out with a Spellbinderrs die. For the second card I stamped in distress red onto white and cut it out with a smaller die from the same set.
With the first card I edged the heart and base cardstock with gold mettalic pen and added some gold pearl accents with a viva decor pen. The little phrase on the heart in both cards is a rub-on.
And I used rub-ons in the corners of the second card too. I used decorative brads and some stry doo-dads on my desk to decorate the hearts.

I did these cards sometime ago at the begining of the school year for a challenge over at Stamp TV.

The stamps are all Gina K - colored with copics. The red pearl accents are from Tulip - 'beads in a bottle'.

My kids had to go back to school on the 2nd so I pulled this one from my stash....

The stamp is from Outlines of course and I colored it with prismacolor pencils and then edged the panel (all the panels actually) with dark blue ink. Added some ribbons and a few rhinestones and all done :)

I had this image colored for awhile now - she is colored with copics. I used her to pretty up this sketch journal. Wouldn't this be a great gift for an artsy type - friends of ours have a daughter majoring in art in college but she does most of her sketching on the computer.....
Part of the background was done with a texture folder and then I added some ribbons and some watch parts to add to the steampunk effect :)

Weekend in Savannah

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Well the Fujan clan made a quick trip up to Savannah to spend New Years Eve with friends. Our good friends from NE Pennsylvania has a daughter that goes to school in Savannah so we bunked with her at her house for a couple days.
We drove up on friday and had to come back yesterday (Sunday) because both my kiddos had to be back in school today - on the 2nd of Jan. can you believe it??
Saturday we did a bit of sightseeing walked around town a bit (cannot believe I didn't take any pics downtown....I guess we were too busy talking...) but we also went out to this fort and walked around. This fort took damage and eventually surrendered when the North took out one of the front corners. Almost all the damage to to fort was along the 2 walls facing the river - when they restored the fort you can see the brighter red brick is the newer, but they left most of the damage intact along the walls and there is even shells still stuck in some of the holes. We even got there in time to see a cannon demo - no ammo in them just powder for the demo and the noise :).
We also went to a lighthouse and down to the beach area for lunch - and included is the Fujan family Christmas picture on the beach (will be sending to all the relatives to make them jealous :) - then maybe they will come to visit, as our beaches in NW Florida are even better than in this pic :).
The last pics are from Sunday morning late breakfast - Uncle Mike sat between my 2 kids and it made for some good fun and good pics of my kids, teenagers - actually smiling :).
I really should have taken more pictures, I say that alot, but then there is something to be said for just enjoying the fun and good company!!!!

The frame and the phrase are both rub-ons from my stash that is several years old now - I haven't bought any rub-ons in 3 or 4 years but am slowly getting my stash used up....

Simple Santa

Hallo,
Well I did good in the craft room yesterday - I managed to get 4 gift cards done and finished off 6 ornaments (leftovers from Christmas projects I didn't get done on time but am determined to finish instead of storeing away for next year...) this morning and then after lunch I got cards done for 2 different challenges.
This card is for the current Christmas challenge over at Flourishes - the challenge this time was to use a Santa themed card or project.

I decided to keep it clean and simple for this one....I stamped the Santa ornament and the bow in black and colored with prismacolor pencils, and stamped the phrse in distress ink in red. Then I added some stickles glitter to Santa and the bow, with a couiple glitter dots after the phrase. (and yes my glitter was still wet when I took the photos :)

Mo's puppy angel

Hallo,
Just a quick card to show you this am - we are going out of town tomorrow for a couple days and I still need to pack and get a couple gift cards made :)
This sweet image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is colored with prismacolor pencils. Isn't she sweet!!!! Mo has another one like it with a kitty that is just as sweet!!
Its a pretty simple little card - just a couple layers of DP - main layer and next cut with a Spellbinders labels die, and some liquid 'beads in a bottle' from tulip for accents, oh yes and a bit of gold mettalic pen edging the layers....
All for now - pretty chilly here in NW Florida again this am.....

Hallo,
Another quick post, along the same theme as yesterday....
I am hoping to get all the Christmas decs down today and put away, and then get the house cleaned. The kiddos are both home this am so I will put them to work :)
I did this card some time ago for a challenge over at Stamp TV - I believe it was for paper piecing. All the stamps are from Gina K. After I paper pieced the pots, I stamped some phrases on a couple for a quick little card!!!

I am hopeful that I will get some craft time this afternoon but we will see....time to get started with a walk for the day, a bit chilly here today, even a touch of frost on the rooftops this am.....

I didnot get much crafting done today - was reading a book thatb I started a week or so ago and playing with my new Kindle :).
I chose this card from my stash because it is what I need to get started on this week(realistically it will be next week...) I didnot get all my fall yard work done so need to get a move on so when spring comes to NW Florida, my yard isn't totally yukky....

Holiday WIne Box

Hallo,

Well you have seen this design before on another box but today I did 2 wines boxes. We are making a trip to Savanah to visit with friends for New Years so I thought I would bring them a bottle of wine - so I had to decorate the box....I liked the design so much that I did 2 (one for the Etsy shop eventually, probably next Christmas....)

The boxes were first painted on the bottom and top under where the lid would go (learned my lesson last time :) and on the bottom of the box, then I put an edge of red paper on the bottom of the box and covered the lid in red paper.

The white paper comes already textured and had a wonderful shimmer to it. And then I used 2 ribbons to edge the box bottom and the bottom edge of the lid.

The ornaments are done with Spellbinders dies and matching stamps from Gina K's Heirloom Ornaments set. I stamped half on black with white embossing powder and half on white with black embossing powder and layered the smaller, opposites on top and did every other one on the sides.

The cording on the box was a thrift store find for only a buck - a whole roll and it looks so much better than the plain cord that was on the box.

Lastly I used some viva decor liquid pearls for all the gold pearl accents - also used a bit of gold mettalic pen.

Baby Buttons

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Well just a quick note before I head to bed...sure enough the teenagers were up bright and early this am waiting for me to get home from work so they could open their presents :)
Now that the 'rush' for the am is done its pretty much time for me to head off to bed to sleep for a bit, just wanted to pop in with a quick post and a Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!
One of my goals for this year was to post most days and I have done pretty well with that - although my stash has decreased somewhat over the last week or so as my crafting time has been limited...

This baby card was made with stamps and the button dies from My Favorite Things . I did some paper piecing and then colored with copics, some paper buttons from pretty paper, flat backed pink pearls and some pink lace finish it off.
All for today - time to sleep, for a bit anyhow so I can get up and play with my new Kindle :).

Snow - or no snow.....

Hallo,
Well this is the most SNOW we are going to see for Christmas :) - I have only seen snow here in NW Florida twice in the 12 plus years we have lived here and even then it was only a few tiny flakes in the air.....

I still had this stamp - one of the collage stamps - from Outlines still in a pile near my desk, waiting to be put away....it was one of the ones I chose here a few weeks ago when I won their weekly challenge :).
I colored these with prismacolor pencils. I only used part of the stamp as it is alot larger.....
I then cut some die cut shapes with Spellbinders dies out of blue shimmer paper for the layers and now I have my very first Christmas card done for 2012 - :)maybe I will accually get them all done before last minute in 2012....
Is everyone ready for Christmas? I am - only one small gift yet to wrap and then work tonight.
The kids have decided the we will have to open gifts in the am when I get home instead of letting me sleep a bit and open presents after lunch :) - but we will see if they are actually awake when I get home in the am - now I know you are thinking OF COURSE they will be, but thats not always a sure thing when its teenagers - my DS didn't get up this am till after 1030.

egyptian cats

Oh good morning,
a bit of blogging to unwind and then off to bed I go......busy night at work and I hadnt slept as well as I would have liked yesterday.....
Another card from my stash.....
The 2 cat stamps are from 'Cherry Pie stamps' and the egyptian background is from Auntie Amy (I think...).
Its just a simple card of stamped layers - the egyptian background in tea dye, then the first cat stamp in walnut stain and then the final cat stamp in black - some black flat-backed pearls for accents and a simple thanks stamped at the bottom.
I don't work tonight so hope to get up early this afternoon but we will see how much energy I can muster about 1 or 2 pm.....
My DD wants to go shopping for a new dress.....
All right, time for my nice warm, soft, cozy, yaaawwwn bed :)

Wedding memories

Hallo,

Brief post before I head off to sleep this am. Since I showed you a wedding card earlier this week, I thought I would show you a wedding gift box that I did a while back.

This is an altered cigar box with a memory book inside and a matching gift card.

The paper I used to cover the box is coredinations paper that I ran through texture folders and then sanded off to reveal the coredination color underneath. I used cream with a gold core and black with a gold core.

The stamp is from 'Another Stamp Company' embossed with white onto gold metallic paper.

I added gold ribbon, black sparkly ribbon, a row of pearls, liquid pearls on the gold cut corners....

For the memory book I used papers to match the main box papers (which I also used on the covers) in gold, cream and black. And the same ribbons and pearl treatment.

This box is currently for sale in my Etsy shop BTW....

Husker Tree

Hallo,
Just a short post this am - off to run some errands and maybe some craft room time.....
I found this great little red tree at HL yesterday for 50% off so I had to get it. Then I spent last evening cutting out ornaments of red, white and black paper and stamping Husker themed stamps on them :) to make a Husker tree. I am just wondering why I hadn't thought of it before!!!! Being short on time all I made was paper ornaments but maybe next year I can make more durable ones.....
I also finally got out some of the fancy bulbs I have made in years past and put on the little bulb tree that I have. They are both sitting on out kitchen table.
The last picture is of our Christmas tree - too bad I cut off part of the topper....

Wedding card

Hallo,
Up early and ready to run for the day....I am taking my kids to the 'big city' today (Pensacola) 1 - so they can both get some city and interstate driving time and 2- the driving time was a good excuse for me to make a trip to Hobby Lobby and the JoAnn's super store - and I get to spend the day with my kids to boot (otherwise if we were at home they would find some excuse to either be NOT at home, or in DS's case would be on the xbox most of the day.....)
I did this wedding card for the daughter of a close friend this summer.
The wedding couple - from Another Stamp Company - is stamped and embossed with black onto vellum.
The roses are from Flourishes and colored with prismacolor pencils.
I am pretty sure that the phrase is from Gina K...
One of these days I will remember to make a note when I save these as a blog post so I will know later - course I am not used to having a stash saved for blog posts :)

Ok All for today - going to try and do a few more marker before the kids get up and moving.....taking me longer than I thought it would to get my markers all cleaned and refilled but they really need it!!!

Crunch Time

Hallo and good morning,
For me anyway :) - I am still in my jammies with sleepy eyes (worked night shift last night). I need to get to the craft room today and clean and refill my copic markers.....looonng overdo....but for now a cup of tea, some breakfast and some blog surfin while I wake up.....
I did this little journal some time ago for one of the challenges from My Favorite Things - sadly I haven't had as much time as I would like to play their challenge lately.
The stamps are of course from MFT - colored with copics.
The journal is just 4X4 inches - I made myself one with purple colors that I actually use to keep track of my excersise - how much weight I am doing on the machines ect.....
The little blue dots are from a liquid from tulip called beads in a bottle, most of the stuff from tulip is made for fabric but works great for paper too - and they are inexpensive too.
Well all for today - my markers need attention.

Yellow bird

Hallo,
Just a quick little card today from my stash - slept all day after working last night, ahhhh sweet sleep, love my bed when I get home in the am - especially after my first night on....
This little bird is from Gina K and is colored with copics.
We have alot of birds here in NW Florida in the winter - not so many in the summer. This one looks like a cute little finch or sparrow....
The rest of the card is fairly simple - some beautiful DP for the background, a bit of ribbon and some gold accents with a viva decor pen around the Spellbinders frame and in the corners.
All for now - time to get ready to go back to work!!!

Shiny, Glittery, Sparkly.....

Hallo,
I am trying to finish up some last minute Christmas gifts - these 2 ornaments are for a couple co-workers. I just so happens that these fit for this weeks challenge over at the Outlines blog too - for shiny and bright - check it out here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I used the newest of my ornament toppers from Outlines and embossed with glittery embossing tinsel onto different color shimmer paper. Today I am showing you the blue and the red.
Once I cut out the 2 layers I used chrystal laquer and added the rhinestones. Once those had dried I added the beads - these come from pieces of beaded trim and I just cut it apart for each individual bead strand and then used the chrystal laquer again to glue them on the back (the Outlines blog has some great pics of how the back looks - how to attatch the bead strands - I am headed to work and forgot to take pics of the backs....)
I had done some of these ornaments with charms and jump rings but this way is so much easier!!!

For the blue ornament I used blue strands alternating with gold beaded strands and then put the topper onto a gold ornament.
For the red ornaments I alternated short and long strands of the red bead strands and also used a gold bulb.
All for today - need to try and catch a short nap before heading off to work tonight - Have a great weekend!!!!

Vintage Rose

Hallo,
I had a bit of stamping time this am before running DS to the clinic to have his finger checked out (routine follow-up kinda thing...)
I finished off this card for yesterdays noontime release week challenge. This challenge was a color challenge to match the color of pears - which just happens to be a wonderful new set this month - dark rose, light green and tan.

The main image is a stamp from Flourishes from the 'Lenten Rose' set - colored with copics. I then used a lace backgrounder from CHF (Cornish Heritage Farms) to over stamp the main panel and to stamp the background on the base cardstock.
I cut the main panel with a Spellbinders die and cut off one edge so I could place it where I wanted it....added a lace pattern ribbon and some liquid pearls in gold for accents.
All for me in blogland today - back to the craft room as I still have a few ornaments that I want to make for Christmas presents.

Pink Quilt

Hallo,
Just a quick post this evening - I had meant to get soooo much done in the craft room today....but instead I went to lunch with my Chief Enabler and then we went to a couple thrift shops. We found a huge basket of rubber stamps at pretty much our favorite thrift shop (all proceeds go to the cat animal shelter here in town) - we got the whole basket for only 20 dollars - 23 stamps in the basket, about 8 of them large ones and some pretty nice old PSX stamps too.
We didn't find too much at the next 2 stops - one of which thinks she is a high end retail store instead of a thrift shop (we didn't stay long...and didn't find much to buy either....no surprise!!).
I did manage to get this card done for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog for 'pink' - mainly because I already had it colored up ready to go. I tried really hard to put together another card for another challenge - tried 3 different things with the stamp I wanted to use with no luck, ah well maybe tomorrow....

The stamp I used is called "Quilt" and its number is J1081 - I colored it with prismacolor pencils.
I then cut it out with a Spellbinders die, layered it to 2 more Spellbinders dies cut from pink paper. The next layer is a new coredinations paper from a pack that comes with embossing already on it - all you have to do is cut it to size and sand it ....I also used that same paper for a frame for my scene....and last but not least, I used some bronze colored liquid pearls.
All for tonight - need to get some super made and work on a couple more challenge cards to finish tomorrow :)

Silent Night

Hallo,
This card is one I did for today's release week challenge (wednesday) over at Flourishes. The challenge was called 'night and day' and we were to show a time of day in our project .
I had only recently gotten this set so was determined to use it.....this was the third attempt as the first 2 attempts were waaaayyy off not only my mark but any mark whatsoever :) - one of those days.....
I stamped the Bethlehem scene in brown memento ink and colored with copics. I added some stars with a white gel pen and then stamped and embossed the stars from this set and the both phrases in white.
The bottom phrase is from the same Flourishes set and the top phrase is from Prickly Pear stamps.
I kept the rest of the card simple to highlight the main image (ya that's right to highlight the main image :) - not cause I couldn't find the right background paper, or embossing folder or ANYTHING.....sigh...like I said, one of those days.... :)

Christmas table

Hallo,
I am preposting this for the am as I work tonight....might have another post later in the day depending on how late I sleep tomorrow....
I did these cards again for a Christmas challenge with Flourishes - the challenge was an inspiration photo of a beautifully set holiday table - all in reds. I have had this set from Flourishes but hadn't used it yet so this was the perfect opportunity.
I stamped the place settings and wine bottle onto white and embossed with embossing powder, and then colored with copics.
And as so often happens with me - I had to do at least a couple different versions in different colors :)

Patriotic Christmas

Hallo,
Well my young DS has a very swollen finger this am I hear - he texted me on the way to school this am...but he says it doesn't hurt much so I guess he will live :)....teenagers....I will have to admit though for having a 16 and a 15 year old, this was my first trip to the ER in about 8 to 10 years so pretty lucky there!!!!
My card today was actually made back in July for one of the Christmas challenges over at Flourishes and I hadn't shared it here yet - the challenge that time was 'patriotic Christmas'
The stamp is from Flourishes and is colored with copics and then cut out with a Spellbinders ornament die and edged it with gold metallic pen.

Flourishes - Christmas sleigh

Hallo,
Just a quick note - showing you something I made a couple months ago for one of the Christmas challenges from Flourishes.
I had hoped for some craft time this afternoon after running errands most of the day but alas it was not to be - spent a little over 2 hours in the ER with DS and a dislocated finger - OUCH!!! He's fine - he even took a picture of his xray to show off at school tomorrow.....
This card is a combo of 2 different Flourishes sets. I stamped the vintage postcard and colored it with copics for the frame and prismacolor pencils for the scene, then I stamped and embossed the sleigh with black powder. I stamped the sleigh a second time onto white and colored it in - then cut out just the sleigh part and layered it over the other one.
All for tonight - gotta get some super going and then get off to work....

Lacey Flowers

Hallo,
I finished this card this am after doing a bit 0f coloring yesterday afternoon. I did this for the first of the Release challenges over at Flourishes - pop in and enter fpor a chance to win their entire Decembeer release (now what a great Christmas present that would be!!!) And if its anything like normal there will be several more chances to win next week!!! Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
This first challenge is for 'Feminine Flair - lace and pearls and ribbon and such.....
I used a Flourishes image for the flower from the Lenten rose set and colored it with prismacolor pencils - then I over stamped it with a lace background stamp from Cornish Heritage farms using antique linnen distress ink.
On the red card base I used a Flourishes lace stamp and stamped it many times with white craft ink and let it dry.
I cut the main panel with a Spellbinders die and edged it with a gold metallic pen and layered it to the card base.
I then went a bit wild with my pearl viva decor pen....or at least a bit anyhow - I made a frame around the main image and then added pealr corners too. Then I added a few drops to the flowers looking for a 'dew' effect - don't really think it worked though....ah well....I like how it turned out !!!!

All for tonight - I plan for some more coloring on the couch this evening, some Flourishes images and a couple for some other challenges coming up this week - we will see what I get done before getting sleepy :)
I work the next couple nights so not too much crafting time.....but if I get errands done tomorrow will have time to post something for ya....

Christmas sketch

Hallo,
Just a quick post this evening as the DH and I are going to a local pub to listen to a band for a bit..... :)
I did this for the current FTTC challenge over at Flourishes - www.flourishes.org/blog/
The challenge this time is a sketch - love sketches!!!!
Since I still need to get a couple Christmas cards done I chose one of my newest stamp sets from Flourishes. It is hard to see but the white paper that the scene is embossed onto has a subtle texture and is very shimmery!!!
I used this paper for the main panel as well as the embossed panel with a cuttlebug folder :)
I have been into black, white and gold lately - so embossed the scene with black and then filled in some areas with a red copic.
I used a red card base and then some red and gold ribbons, along with some gold liquid pearls and edged the panels with gold metallic pen.

Black and white tags

Hallo,
Well I thought I would show you the tags that got me started on the black and white kick this morning. After being up all day yesterday I hit the wall somewhere around 830 last night -fell asleep on the couch and don't even remember going to bed, but some 10 hours of sleep later I am up and moving - took the pooch for a walk (brrrr) got breakfast and next I am going to get some cleaning done around the house - with some craft room time as a reward this afternoon - I hope!!!!
I did these tags earlier in the week for a challenge over at Stamp TV for - black and white tags.....
I had the wonderful textured white paper left over from a wedding box and cards that I did (now that I see how they look with Christmas stuff, I will NEED more of that paper!!!). All stamps are from Gina K. These were fun to make!!! I have a bit more of this paper left over even after yesterdays project - probably just enough for a few more tags.... :)
BTW - the little bucket I used for yesterdays project was a gift box with a bunch of cookies in it - a patients family brought it for us up at work and when it was empty my co-workers saved it for me (they know me too well :) - I spent 2 nights at work looking at the bucket while I was going back and forth, ideas just waiting for my day off :) - I even keep a tablet in my work bag because I never know when I will get an idea ( I also have a tablet in my purse and in several spots around my house - course those tend to migrate from time to time and spot to spot, but mostly one by my computer and one by my 'spot' on the couch, and one on the lamp table next to my bed......I am NOT obsessed, truly I am not!!!!)

Ok - all for this am - if I get my chores done in a timely manner then I will be back later today - I have a project for the new release challenge from Flourishes in mind and ready to DO....but I really must do some cleaning first!!!! Really I MUST do the cleaning - I was lazy all last week and it really needs to get cleaned!!!! No it can't wait - needs to be done now, so I am going to do it now.....yes NOW....oh all right, now it is......

December CSS Hop

Boy howdy I am sleepy tonight - I haven't been to sleep yet after working last night, so if this post gets a bit wonky you will know why :).
I had some Christmas presents that I was determined to get wrapped and in the mail today and by the time I got that done I decided to do my project for tonights hop - right here, right now :)....
Soooo - Welcome to Decembers Gina K CSS Alumni blog hop. Our challenge this time was to create a treat holder or alter a container - with a Christmas or New Years theme.

Before I forget make sure to leave lots of comments along the hop because this time we are giving away a Huge grab bag of Gina K stamps - on tuesday am (dec 13) one winner will be chosen at random from all the comments!!!!
Well I decided to alter a container and I was kinda still in Black and white mode from a challenge earlier this week over at Stamp TV - I did similar things with the Heirloom Ornaments set here as I did for the challenge - except I added some red and gold.
First I covered the box and lid - edges and inside with red and then added the textured white over the top. Then I added rows of ribbon to the edges to fancy it up.
Next I stamped 2 of the ornaments each 3 times onto a white shimmery paper with black embossing powder and then on black with white embossing powder - heat set the embossing powder, then cut them all out by hand (leaving just a sliver of an outline around the ornament with the black and white paper).
Then using the matching Spellbinders ornament die I cut out 6 in red paper matching the box.
I then glued all the layers together and glued them to the box.
It was at this point that I realized that my lid probably wasn't going to fit back on top because of the extra bulk of the paper that I didn't plan/think about......arrrggg......soooo the black and red ribbon is my solution to my goof - I attached the ribbons on the sides near the carry handle with pearl brads and then to hold the lid on I just tie the ribbons in a bow.
Lastly I decorated the ornaments and the dies on top of the box with a gold pearl pen and let it all dry.....

Hallo,
A quick post this am - I am going to try and stay up for a bit after work here so I can get some packages off to the post office!!! And I have a project I would like to finish for a blog hop later this evening - so make sure and stop back for that as there are free stamps in the making!!!!.
This is the last of the boxes that I made for my nieces and hope to get sent out today....
As usual this is a cigar box. I liked the wood on this one and the curves so I left some of the wood showing.
The stamps are from My Favorite Things and are colored with prismacolor pencils. I added a bit of 2 different ribbons and trim and all done. I really liked this one - almost kept it for myself :)

Truck Gears

Hallo,
I am off to sleep here shortly after working all night and back tonight for another.....
Showing you 3 boxes I did yesterday for my nephews - none of the fam looks at the blog so am safe to show you here. I had fun with these and love the way they turned out!!!!
The box is a wooden cigar box. I lined the inside bottom and sides with felt and then covered the rest of the box with cardstock - I ran the cardstock through a texture folder - gears - and then sanded off to make it show better. Then I got out my gears dies from TH and Spellbinders and cut a whole boatload out of silver, gold and copper mettalic cardstock.
Lastly on the lid I used a truck stamp from Gina K and embossed it onto cardstock with distress powder and again onto white cardstock and colored the trucks with prismacolor pencils.

I did 3 of these - one with brown paper, one blue and one maroon.

Christmas Tags - Outlines

Hallo,
A quick post before I head off to work tonight .....
I got alot of crafting done today - all the boxes for the nieces and nephews finished and ready to mail on friday. I really had fun with the boy ones - LOVE how they turned out!!!! I will show you those tomorrow....
For today I did up 2 tags for the current challenge over at Outlines - which is for tags of course :)
I just got this stamp with my last order from Outlines - I had won a recent weekly challenge and so was able to get more stamps!!! :)
I colored Miss Kitty here with copics and layered her to some DP with some Christmas sticker embellishments,
The backs of the tags are stamped with part of an ornament topper and then decorated with vvia decor pens and stickles glitter. The I added some ribbon and there you are :)

Christmas glasses

Hallo,
Well my morning got off to a bang - literally....
I went out for a walk with my ol pooch and was only about 3 blocks from home - its a busy street and I waited for a truck to go by, and then after he got by I kinda turned sideways to check traffic prepareing to cross the street, only to see the truck that just passed me get t-boned by someone who ran the stop sign - going fast enough that it tipped the truck over on its side. (unfortunalty accidents are commen at that intersection as many people ignore the stop sign).
Well here I am running for the truck while dialing 911 - he had a small child with him, I had seen as he passed me - the 911 operator had to have me repeat the intersection info and then my name as I was puffing so much from running (good grief) . Before I even managed to get the 2 blocks to the truck - the guy was lifting the kiddo up out the side window so I could see the kiddo was alright and Dad was at least alright enough to do that much - and about 4 other people were there ahead of me....no cuts, scrapes or visable injuries to either Dad and kiddo - or the other driver either for that matter - which was good!!!

Well once I got home I made for the craft room (chores can wait until after lunch right?) and finished off this card for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for you favorite drink....I have limited 'drink-type' IO stamps so this one represents the Christmas tea that one of the local lunch places has right now (iced cranberry tea) - since the glasses are Christmassy.
This stamp is of course from IO - and is called 'Cocktail glasses' #D2371.
I have been into the vintagey thing lately so that is where this one ended up too - embossed the glasses onto brown paper and distressed the edges with distress ink, added 3 rows of ribbon - green, a thin feltish brown and then the lace trim. I also added some pearlys with viva decor pens in gold and bronze.

Teacup Christmas

Hallo,
Well didn't get much of anything done yet today - slept a bit late after work last night (didn't get up till 3) and here at 5 I am going with DH and kiddos for the local Christmas parade - the kids are marching with ROTC and we will be dropping them off at one end and picking them up at the other :).
I did this card way back in July for one of the challenges from Flourishes (I think it was for the 'patriotic Christmas' theme)
I just love these teacups from Flourishes. They are colred with copics. I cut them out with a Spellbinders labels die and edged them with a red mettalic pen.
All for today - gotta get out of my PJ's and get ready to go to the parade.

Christmas Ornaments

Hallo,
A quick batch of ornaments this am before I head off to sleep - DH is keeping the bed warm for me this am (I love Sunday mornings coming home from work sometimes :)
I did several batches of ornaments to send to family and friends.
The first 2 ornaments here - I used some Tim Holtz paper and sprayed them with glimmer mist (red, green and gold) before stamping on them.
The stamp I used is one of my new ones from Outlines - I won their weekly challenge last week and this is one of the stamps I got. I now have 3 of the ornament toppers - LOVE them!!!
I used 'Beads in a bottle' by Tulip for the accents - copper on the first and silver on the second one.

The third ornament was done with a different ornament topper onto purple paper and I used a gold viva decor pen for the accents.
I am hoping to do another batch or 2 of ornaments for the Etsy shop but I need to finish and mail my family Christmas projects first :).

Christmas boxes

Hallo,
Just a quick post before I head for work tonight. I have been making boxes like crazy the last few days....I am making these for my nieces (with boy ones to follow). I plan to fill them with a nail kit and some nail polish to follow the theme of a spa day - and maybe some candy too.
I am hoping to have them all done to get them in the mail early this week.
The stamps are from My Favorite Things and colored with prismacolor pencils.
I am pretty safe showing these here as noone in my family except my Mom ever looks at the ol blog :)
I have really had fun with these - I had 7 cigar boxes all of the same size so it really made the cutting paper times quick. Showing the first 6 today - one more girl one to finish and then 3 boy ones to do....

Mitten Christmas

Headed for some crafting time this evening- My Chief Enabler and I went to lunch and a round of thrift shops at 2 towns just north of us - I even found another teacup and saucer with "Made in Occupied Japan" on it - and then at the Antique store found a whole set (minus 2 pieces) of china that had it printed ont he bottom (they wanted 694 dollars for the set - needless to say- it was waaaayyy outta MY price range!!!
I did these 2 cards for a challenge over at Stamp Tv some time ago and hadn't shown you here yet....All stamps from Gina K and I used the Spellbinders mitten dies to cut them out with - and a cuttlebug folder on the second pair of mittens....
Ok - off tto the couch to color and cut.

The Great Outdoors

Quick post tonight - spent a good amount of the day today in my craft room. Got a few ornaments done and working on the boxes I am making for the nieces and nephews.....

The challenge this time is for 'the great outdoors'
I covered this 6-pack drink holder to use as a gift box and used Mo's fisherman for the box and one of the tags. The imahes are colored with copics - except the sunset was colored with prismacolor pencils.
The background paper is a brown coredinations paper run through a wood grain texture folder. Then I added a fishermans tied fly for decoration on the box bottom edge and on the tags.
All for tonight - need to get my Christmas boxes done to send off the begining of the week...

More Christmas Ornaments

Hallo,
A Merry bunch of ornaments for you this afternoon....I woke up a bit after lunch and really didnot feel to ambitious so off to the craft room I went (I can always seem to get motivated there :)...
I started these ornaments several days ago and have been working in stages. First I pulled out scraps from my scrap files and stamped the ornament topper from Outlines 3 times - 2/3 times just getting the middle of the stamp.
Then I used viva decorpens and tulip beads in a bottle to decorate them - while sitting on the couch watching TV with da Hubby....
Next evening was the cutting session - 1 piece the whole stamp and the 2/3 pieces less of the stamp in layers.
Lastly today was the glueing session, and of course adding something to hang it up with ....
I made these for each of our brothers/sisters/parents families as well as several friends....now I need to get them packaged and to the post office....plus I have some more to make yet....

Fuzzy Mouses

Hallo,
Another sleepy morning for me - but will get this posted before I head to my warm comfy bed :).
I did this for the current challenge over at the House Mouse and friends blog for something warm and fuzzy.

I used the drier sheet technique again on the main image - which is a HM image colored with prismacolor pencils.
I ran the image through my xyron to get sticky on the front and attatched the used drier sheet and then cut it out with a Spellbinders die.

I also used a soft and fuzzy ribbon on the card too!!!
All for now - since I don't work tonight I will try and get up about lunch time and head for the craft room but with this cooler weather this week it is just sooooo nice to sleep, so we will see how early I get up....

Outlines ornaments

Hallo,
Off and running on this chilly Monday am in NW Florida - chilly, damp, and windy, but my ol mutt insisted on a walk anyhow (he loves the cooler weather as much as I do!!).
Laundry started and after a quick post - groceries, bank, post office and some baking for the kids to take food to the Swim Team party pot luck tonight (which of course I don't get to go to because I work :(.....
And hopefully I will get some craft room time as I have Christmas presents that I am making for the Family that I want to get mailed out next week if I can.
I am mailing several of these out to my Mom today. My Mom is a Breast Cancer Survivor - 4 years now!!!!
This first ornament is for her and then I am sending her several for friends of hers that are also survivors.
I did these ornaments using all stamps from Outlines rubber stamps and they just happen to fit with this weeks challenge over at the Outlines blog to make an ornament or hanging (no cards).

I had planned to have these done in October but as usual time got away from me and they are just now getting done. I also did a few extra for the Etsy shop if anyone is interested - the link is in my sidebar near the top.
I used one of the ornament toppers and the support ribbon for these ornaments. I had accually bought the kit for the pink ribbon pins about a year or so ago - the kit made up about 12 of them with the rhinestones and I used 10 of them for charms on 2 ornaments and then made 2 pins too.
The last 2 ornaments instead of rhinestones, I used liquid pearls - the white is a viva decor pen and the pink is from tulip (made for fabric but works great on paper!!)
I really had fun making these ornaments!!! I have a bunch more in the works with colored bulbs - so fun mixing and matching colors!!! :)
Well I had better get off the 'puter and get my errands done!!!!

Gift card

Hallo,
Rainy day here in NW Florida so I have been in my craft room alot - course it made getting good pictures of my projects a bit dificult but the rain is nice, haven't gotten much rain lately.
Well this is my project for this weeks challenge over at Outlines - for a gift card. Check it out - and how to win some stampin' mula - here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I did a very simple gift card - cut my cardstock 5.5inches on the long side and then folded the card to make it A2 sized - the excess made the nice little pocket on the inside.
I had meant to get this made up for my Mom back in October but I guess late is better than never (my Mom is 4 years out from her surgery for Breast Cancer as of October).
I used 2 Outlines stamps - one of the ornament toppers and the ribbon. I used pink liquid pearl stuff from tulip (made for fabric but works great on paper too) for the accents and some gold viva decor pen in the corners.
Inside - I stamped the ornament topper again (partial as was the front) and inside the pocket is 2 rinnbon pins done with rhinestones from the kit - the kit made a total of 12 but I only used 2 for pins (stop in tomorrow to see what I used them for :).
All for today - some more projects to start and finished in the craft room today - had to get this posted before the deadline :)

Fall Thank-you

Just a quick post while the turkey is cooking :)
I finished this card up yesterday for 2 challenges.
The first challenge was for a thankful card using fall colors over at In A Sweet Pea Dream. Now I tried several differnt options to add the Thank-you onto the front of the card but didn't like any of them so ended up putting it on the inside - then I forgot to take a pic of the inside so I hope this still works.
The second challenge is over at Sweet Pea Stampers and is 'sticker shock' - to use stickers.
I used gold foil stickers down the left side and int he opposite 2 corners.

I colored this lovely Sweet Pea Stamps image with prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders die. The next layer is coredinations paper - white with gold core - that I ran through an embossing folder and sanded off to reviel the gold tones. Both panels are edged with copper metallic pen and I distressed the edges of the second layer with copper rub-on.

All for today :) - fixins to make to go with our turkey and some picking up to do as we have company today too:)

Drier sheet technique

Hallo,

Well since I was on call for work last night I got up early this am and did just a tad bit of Black Friday shopping :) I was at AC Moore at 445 because they were giving a $10 gift card for the first 50 customers - DS went with me because he talked me into a trip to Game Stop. So after AC Moore and Game stop was a trip to Jo Ann's and I was done - well sorta, I did make several cyber stops :)

I also got home early enough that everyone was asleep still (DS went back to sleep :) so I headed for the craft room :).

I did this card for the current challenge over at Flourishes for the Timeless Tuesday challenge. The challenge was to use the 'drier sheet technique' . Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/

First I colored the main image - from Flourishes of course - with prismacolor pencils, and then ran the image throught my xyron to get the front side sticky. I then stuck a used drier sheet to the front over the image. Since drier sheets are a bit porous after using them in the drier, I added a bit of glitter and rubbed it in. I did use a bit of workable fixative over the top just to make sure that the glitter stayed put.

I then cut out my image with a Spellbinders die and edged the die with a gold metallic pen and layered it to the music background paper.

I then added a phrase from another Flourishes set below the image, and accents with a gold viva decor pen. The music DP edges were roughed up a bit and then I edged them with distress ink.

Well all for today - have a couple projects in works and tomorrow is when we are having our turkey dinner .

I had several images colored up and ready yesterday so with the little time I had for crafting yesterday I was able to get several cards done. ( I really should get the rest of the Christmas gifts done that I am making, but they need a bigger block of time too....)

I had just gotten this image so had to color her up - she is colored with prismacolor pencils and then cut out with a Spellbinders labels die. I edged the die with gold metallic pen , layered her to some pretty paper and embellished with a double bowed trim and some sticker corners.
I also added some dots of stickles glitter on the snowflake spots in the image.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving - my co-workers and I had pot luck turkey dinner at work last night which was really yummy!!! My family and some friends will have out Thanksgiving meal on saturday :).

After layering some ribbon and pretty Christmas paper, I used some tulip 'beads in a bottle' for the red dots that outline the main panel and in the corners.
The phrase is from one of my sets from Flourishes - embossed in black.

Snowball Hi

A quick little post - managed to get this card done just in time if I type fast :).

I love this Mo's image - hiding the snowball, just like something my DS would do if we ever had snow (only once in 12 years have I seen snow in our area of Florida).
I colored him with prismacolor pencils.
I didn't get much stamping time today - the kids and I did some house cleaning (we have company for Turkey dinner on saturday and I am scheduled to work wednesday and thursday nights...), we made an early morning trip to Wal-mart to find some clothes for my DD and then the kids and I met my DH for lunch, then I got 2 pies made and finished off a couple cards (including this one ) that were in the works on my craft table.
All for now - gotta get him linked and try to get a nap as I work tonight (wednesday night - am backposting :).

Flourishes 'Flag it'

Hallo,
Boy was it hard to get up this afternoon - I had set my alarm for 1230 but 4 hours just wasn't enough - finally drug myself out of bed about 130ish.....
I made 2 pumpkin pies and checked mail (email and snail mail), ran to the dry cleaners and then managed to get this card done.
I did this card for the current FTTC challenge over at Flourishes which was to use a flag in your creation.
I don't have and flag or banner dies so I just cut this one free hand.
The main image is colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out with a Spellbinders labels die and layered to another Spellbinders die with the banner tucked inbetween.
The background was done with coredinations paper (white with a gold core) and a texture folder (and sanded off to reviel the gold...).
I am getting pretty good at useing up scraps lately - I had used the coredinations paper to cover a wedding themed gift box and then I used the left over pieces on a couple cards - this being one.
Last but not least I used some viva decor pearl pen in gold for accents. Oh yes the flag is the back side of the coredinations paper stamped with a phrase from another Flourishes set.

Sledding Ornaments

Hallo,
Just a quick post this am as I am off to sleep for the day again - last of 3 in a row so looking forward to a couple days off tomorrow!!!
More Christmas ornaments - these started out as plain white unfinished.
I sprayed them with Memory mist - for the gold and silver ones and glimmer mist for the red one. They sparkle nicely IRL but I couldn't seem to get a good picture of the sparkle.
After that layer dried I sprayed them with workable fixative to seal the shimmery stuff and then I stamped them with stamsp from one of my newest Flourishes sets and embossed them with white powder.

Outlines Thanksgiving

Just a quick little post this am before I sleep....

The stamp is from Outlines - partial stamp anyhow. I used one of the collage stamps and just used parts of it. I colored them with copics and edged the panels with gold metallic pen.
I used coredinations paper for the background and a texture folder - its a white with a gold core. Then I used a piece of the back side of the coredinations for the main image so the gold color matched.
I also used some gold viva decor pen for accents.
All for now - time to sleep.

CSS Inspirational Hop

Hallo,
I am so glad to be hopping this evening - I had missed one or two of the last Gina K CSS Alumni hops due to general crazy business!!!
This time we are using the top photo as an inspiration for our projects. They reminded me of Christmas tags (and reminded me that I had planned on making a bunch this year - had actually planned to make them last year and never got to them.....)

Ok on to my tags - all stamps are from Gina k. (the to/from's are hand written).
I first covered the backs of the ornament shape with Christmas DP that I had gotten on sale last year - I forgot to take pics of the backs.....
I then stamped them all with either the music or words from the Vintage Borders set in tea dye distress ink.
Then I divided them up into piles (I did about 100 of these tags to give mixed sets to my family this year) and stamped then with stamps from the Heirloom Ornaments,Vintage Borders, Winter Mittens, and Light of the Season sets - in red, green, blue and purple. I did a little quick coloring on the candle image with prismacolor pencils.
And in keeping with my attempts to recycle and use up my stash - the ornament shape is the lid to cups we used to use at work (we used the cups but not the lids so instead of throwing them away, I saved a bunch - I used about half my stash of these with this round of tags....). I used Christmas paper that I got last year for the backs and then really dug deep into my stash from a knitting spree 3/4 years ago an brought out all the tag ends of yarn that matched and am using the yarn for the tag ties :) Yea me!!!!
