Hallo,
Vacation pics - Day 2.
This first pics is an old covered bridge - it was featured in a 1951 film staring Rita Heyward - although I have forgotten the title...
The second pic is one of many gold/gem panning places - the kids and I spent several hours there sunday afternoon - we did 2 big buckets worth and they tried very hard for a 3rd - we ended up with a couple handfuls of amethyst, pink quartz tpye stuff in inch to 2-3 inch chunks and a couple teaspoonsful each of small to tiny pieces of red garnet and peridot.
It was fun to watch them as they had never done anything like it before. I remember doing it once or twice on family vacations as a kids and when I was in Alaska I did a little gold panning also...
The last 2 pics are in the town of Helen - they have alot of stuff to do - like tubing on the 'Hooch' (chatahoochee 'river') and go cart tracks (yes the kids conned me into that to - each of them 'lapped ' me several times :).
And of course there were alot of horsebackriding places in the area and paula and I went for an hour ride - my poor ol horse was very bowlegged - front and back - but it was a nice easy ride with a splash through the 'river' at the end - felt pretty good for us as well as the horses by then...
All for today...

Family vacation pics
Hallo,
Warning - no crafty photos....
We took a long weekend and went up to NE Georgia to play this last weekend. We got back yesterday afternoon. Although I did bring some craft stuff - I colored some Bellas Fellas while driving but haven't had time to put them together yet - I have plans for a card swap from Grillafella and ATC's from Surfinfella.
I wasn't able to get too many pics as the kiddos are at that age where they virtually refuse totally to have their pictures taken.
Saturday we drove up to do a little fishing for trout but with the overly hot weather lately there wasn't any fish interested so - we did manage to find this Clydesdale horse farm to hang out for a bit - this first pic is Paula with the 2 year old - they also had a yearling that was as sweet as could be.
This second pic is from a little hike we took on Monday to "Anna Ruby falls" - very hot and sweaty hike up but very pretty (and it was a little cooler in the trees) - my knees DIDNOT like the trek back down!!! I actually got them to allow a pic and then my camera didn't like the light - would not let me get a close up but here's Jack, Mr. Tom , and Paula at the falls - they were laughing at me trying to make my camera behave :).
This is a close up of Mr. Tom in the gift shop - no he's not grumpy, I just caught him off guard when Jack decided to get a little 'squirrelly'.
Last but not least a foggy view of the 'mountains' behind Jack on the scenic drive we took to get out of the heat for a bit. It winds around the area where the 'Appalachian Trail' starts.
We saw some interesting store names on our travels - the 'Victorian Cowgirl' sells gifts, antiques, and western wear,
a sign in front of a big building with a big parking lot said 'Brabraland' but no clue as to what they sell (do I want to know? :). In the town of Helen (which is a german themed tourist type resort town ) we had to stop in and see 'Das ist leather' and then there is the store we saw in Dothan Alabama called the 'Skuffed Butt Biker Wear'.
We drove through 'Loudsville' GA, and drove by Huckleberry Hill and Tater Ridge (wonder if thats where the guy from the Blue Collar comedy team comes from - "they call me Tater Salad")
All for today - I will have more vacation pics tomorrow and friday also as I am working 3 - 12 hour shifts in a row so won't get much crafting done until the weekend.
Have a good week ya'll - :)

More rub ons and Twinchie/inchies
Hallo,
Another one like yesterdays - same description applies - yes I am being lazy as I am trying to prepost these before we go on a mini vacation and its getting late....I hope you don't mind popping back one post to yesterday to see how I did these.
And yes my natural crookedness is showing up again :) - would you believe I even used a ruler to line the box up and I still got it crocked :). Now that is true crooked talent!!!
All for now

Playing with rub ons
Hallo,
I did some playing a few days ago and made a couple inchie/twinchies and then today I added rub ons, a white gel pen and some rhinestones to finish it off.
The inchie on top of the twinchie (2 inches instead of one) both started as pieces from one of the masterboards I was playing with last week. Then I broke out the rub ons and the gel pen and played some more and this is what came out - its kinda funky for me but I like it.
The stamps used are from CHF http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com and include backrounders 'houndstooth' and 'sophisticated swirls' the 'Beautiful' set and the new 'sassy sayings' set.

Light of Peace - TK
Hallo,
I have been doing alot of coloring lately - CHF has put out a DT call, I did several of each image and once I chose my submit projects, I have some left that I can show you.
This is Thomas Kinkades Light of Peace from CHF http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/
I colored the image with a combination of prismacolor and koh i noor pencils, with minimal blending with gamsol. I used a little stickles glitter on the wave spray and the sun.
The I used mod podge to adhere the cardstock to the plaque, once dry I painted it with weathered wood distress crackle paint and let dry again.
The gold is gold embossing powder - I used an embossing pen to highlight the areas I wanted , then sprinkled powder over, shook off the extra and heat embossed. I also altered the brads with gold ep, and took the backs off before glueing down.
I really liked how this one came out - My neighbors daughter has already spoken for it for her Mom who collects lighthouses :)

Another Techno sketch
Hallo,
I used the same sketch from http://www.technostamper.blogspot.com/
for this card today. Also another one of the copys of Christmas music sprayed with glimmer mist after clear embossing a new stamp from CHF. Phrase is also CHF.http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com . I also used the glimmer mist on the ribbon to match.
I often have trouble getting things straight - and the stars are proof :)
Have a good day!!!

CHF Christmas
Hallo,
Short post today as I have a couple projects waiting on the craft table to try and finish tonight - I didn't have a much time to play as I thought I was going to have for several reasons.....First I had to have a gallbaldder scan which took longer than planned even allowing extra time :) (ahh such is life) and #2 Our LSS was having a big sale and I said I wasn't going to go as my stash is out of control overflowing as it is, but, alas I couldnot resist - 70% off all Xmas items and everything else a certain percentage off depending on how much you spent - I managed to get out the door with a nice bag of stuff for only 28 $ - mostly embellishments as I really do have too much paper. The only paper I got was the Xmas stuff and ALL of that was the Basic Gray "Figgy Pudding" from last year.
Anywhoo - These 3 cards were done using my newest stamp purchase from CHF http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/ . The music paper is from a music book that I used as a child in grade school - copys of some pages anyway (about 10 years ago when the 1-room grade school I went to closed they had a garage sale and the 2 things I had asked my Mom to get for me if she could was a copy of the music book and if they still had their copy of "Smokey the Cow Horse" - She was able to get the music book but no 'Smokey' to be found...)
Anyway I stamped and embossed on the music with clear and then sprayed with green and cranberry glimmer mist and let dry. I used this weeks sketch from CPS for all 3 cards. I also used CHF's new Xmas phrases set but even though they are embossed in gold they just don't show very well in my pics (murky and rainy here today). I also used gold krylon and assorted brads and rhinestones.
Well not so short a post after all - :)
I had better get back to the craft table as I won't have much time tomorrow - I will be rounding up supplies, doing laundry and packing for a short weekend jaunt to Helen Ga to play tourist for the weekend with the FAM - I am trying to get a couple things done to post while I am gone - we get back on tuesday and then I work the next 3 days (12 hour shifts...).

Bella Celebrates
Hallo,
I had some fun making some ATC's the other day - I did this Bella in tropical colors, and used stamps from Papertrey Ink for the medallion. It is hard to see but under the medallion is a clear flower - I was hoping it would show up more but alas...
The backround was done in the cuttlebug and I swiped the raised areas with teal staz on.
Short post again today - gotta get some house work done I guess :( - and need to start planning/packing as we are taking a long weekend in Helen Ga with the family to chill and sightsee.
Hope your week is going well!!!

Beautiful amber lady
Hallo,
I couldn't resist one more card from the masterboards I was playing with. I used the CPS sketch #73 from last week again. This card uses mostly stamps from CHF http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/ including backrounders 'houndstooth' and 'sophisticated swirls' and CHF 'Beautiful' set and the lady is an unknown UM. I used distress inks, amber baubles, and a tiny brown rick rack ribbon for the top and bottom.
All for today - keeping it short to get back to the craft table!!!
