Polar bear cards

Hallo,

Well with the long weekend and not too much to do, I finished off a boatload of cards. I color images sitting on the couch during the week before bed and then it is fairly quick to put them all together over the weekend sometime.

I am keeping things simple for layout and embellishments this year because I am behind the power curve getting them made.

This cute polar bear image is from 'Sheep Ski Designs', colored with prismacolor pencils, edged with a silver krylon pen and I used some silver pearl drops  in the corners. The Merry Christmas die is from 'Top Dog'

Fall Cottonwood

Hallo,
Another painting today inspired by some pics I took in Nebraska in October this year of cottonwood trees.
Encaustic wax with oil sticks and then used hot pens and encaustic and more oil sticks.

Fall Creek

Hallo,
I made a very quick weekend trip home to Nebraska in October to see family. I was hoping for a little fall color too but as you can see from the first pic, most of the color was already gone, and we had foggy, murky days to boot.
However this pic is from the creek near where I grew up and can well remember the glorious fall colors from growing up. We played all along this creek from this bridge about 3/4 mile south all along the windings through the fields to the bridge about 3/4 miles to the east ....
The painting started with the first pic - a background of encaustic and oil sticks.
In the last 3 pics I broke out my hot pens to play with - have had them several years, just haven't really played with them much, so will be doing several paintings just to get some practice with them.
I am really missing fall this year more than I usually do so I hope you are in the mood too as there are several more in the works.
All for now - Take Care

Sympathy cards

Hallo,

I needed a sympathy card this week. My Uncle passed away earlier this week from cancer.

The photos didn't edit well due to the shimmery nature of the vellum. These 2 cards are very pretty in real life. The base cardstock is a beautiful shimmery paper from Paper Temptress in a light turquoise.

This is a Flourishes image by Marcella Hawley - Flourishes is no longer in business but Marcella started her own stamp store called 'Power Poppy" and has some beautiful images, lots of flowers that I love!!!

All for today - gotta get off to that work thing....

Harley Santa

Hallo,

Well another weekend has flown by here for me - yard work, house work, some studio time and some time in the craft room finishing up some more Christmas cards. I have been coloring the images on the couch in the evenings while watching TV with the hubby and then putting them together usually goes pretty quickly.

This is a digital image from Sheep Ski Designs, colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils. Edges with a silver krylon pen and snowflakes dies from Spellbinders.

    Have a great day!!!

Surfin' Santa

Hallo,

Popping in real quick before work this am - 4 more Christmas cards done. I am doing the coloring on the couch after work in the evenings while we watch tv and then putting them together whenever I get a few spare minutes to pop into the craft room.

This cute digital image is from 'Dr.Digi' a shop on Etsy. Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.

Snowmen selfie

Hallo,

Another couple Christmas cards today. This is a digital image from Sheep Ski Designs - a cute little shop on Etsy!

Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils. The Merry Christmas die is from Top Dog and the frame die and snowflakes are both Spellbinders. And I used a gold mettalic pen from Krylon to edged the frame die.

7 cards finished and about 8 colored up waiting for finishing into cards.

I tend to either color or work on locker hook rugs while watching TV on the couch in the evenings. I finished up a locker hook rug a couple weeks ago and have been coloring Christmas images since then.

Once the images are colored, it really doesn't take me too long to make up the cards.

Gnomes for Christmas

Hallo,

Another couple cards for you this am.

This is a digital image from 'Sheep Ski Designs' a shop on Etsy. Such cute little gnomes that I couldn't resist!!!

Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils, cut out with a Spellbinders die and edged with a gold Krylon pen.

I think the Merry Christmas die is from 'Top Dog' and the snowflakes are Spellbinders also(pretty sure).

I really haven't bought much for physical stamps in the last couple years - I have soooo many and so little time to get in my craft room but I am trying to at least get a bunch of Christmas cards done this year because I didn't get very many done the last couple years.

I starting painting again about 6 years ago so most times I chose to get in the studio instead of the craft room, wish I could do both!!!! I keep telling myself that I could pop into my craft room for an hour before work in the mornings but don't often  seem to accomplish it.....no real excuse as my craft room is one of my spare bedrooms....

First batch of Christmas cards 2020

Hallo,

Well I have finally got a start on my Christmas cards. I don't know if I will get all 80 or so that I usually send out made up(instead of store bought) but last year I didn't get any made so I am at least a bit ahead of the game this year.

Last year I was working up to a big remodel on my house and was sorting, packing and purging in almost every spare minute for almost 6 months ahead of time - spare minutes being hard to come by .....

The stamps I used are from one of my favorite companies - sadly no longer in business - Flourishes. Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils, a spellbinders die, gold krylon pen and some gold pearl drops.

I don't take as much time for crafting/rubber stamping since I started painting more  but still love it just as much!!
