Color blocks
Hallo,
I have my latest encaustic wax painting s to show you today - a pair of 12 by 12 inch paintings.
I started with many layers of colorful wax and then started carving squares into the different layers of color. I added some swirly lines in the deep purple layer to connect the squares.
A funky and fun pair of paintings!!!
Its been a tough couple weeks here - my DH's sister and her family were in a major car accident on Friday of 4th of July weekend. We lost her Hubby and she is still in ICU on the breathing machine. Both the kids are doing well physically - My Hubby and Daughter went and spent the first week with them and a bunch of the family. My kiddos are both the same ages as hubby sisters kiddos .
Say a few prayers for them all would you please!!!!
Take Care
Tera
P.S. these paintings should be up and ready for purchase on my Vango site in the next couple days....

To remain unconquerable
Hallo,
Well I am all alone except for the pups this week. My son is back at college and my DH and DD are visiting family.....
I finally finished this portrait of my DD that I have been working on for a show - sadly it did not get juried into the show. Considering this is really the first time I have ever done a portrait of any kind (did a watercolor painting in HS of my Grandpa but not a close up) much less with the cold wax - I think it turned out pretty well. I would love to take a portrait class sometime.....
I used a heavy weight paper made to paint with oils and took a ton of pictures along the way - with my phone. I have found that it gives me a different perspective on the painting looking at a photo of it as I go.....
Showing you a few of the photos I took along the way and then the framed result.
All for today
Take Care
