Self portrait

Hallo,

  Last one in this batch of mixed media - cyanotype, colored pencils and encaustic paintings.

   I combined an old photo of myself and one of flowers from Peru to make this cyanotype print.

  First photo shows the print after I colored with pencils and added several layers of encaustic medium. 

  Last photo is with some encaustic paint and stencils and a bit of gold encaustic paint for the necklace.

  Asa with the others I plan to frame it in a black float frame(waiting for some I ordered to arrive).

Wilted flowers and bird feeder.

Hallo,

   Another cyanotype, colored pencil and encaustic painting for you today.

This was a photo I took of a bunch of flowers that were wilted in a vase in my house but I thought they still looked pretty so I took them outside and set them beside my bird feeder and took a few pictures.

  I made the cyanotype print and colored it in with colored pencils. I then added several layers of encaustic medium. Next I used encaustic paint with a stencil and then etching and oil sticks.

  I plan to frame in a black float frame.

Bird of paradise

Hallo,

   I have been experimenting with cyanotypes again. This one is from a photo I took in Peru the end of march and used the photo to make the cyanotype print. The first photo is the cyanotype print I started with. 

   Second photo shows the print after I had colored some of it with colored pencils and covered it with several layers of encaustic medium.

   Third picture is where I added some leaves with encaustic paint and a stencil, I etched some lines on the stenciled leaves and enhanced with oil sticks.

   I will frame this in a black float frame.
