  Another small painting of a frog hanging out in one of my calla flowers. Both paintings are 8 by 10 inches.

  I had fun doing these 2 - there will probably be more in this series.

Frog Condo I

Hallo,

  A quick post before I go out and about today.

  Last spring I had a photoshoot with a little frog who decided to hang out inside one of my calla flowers. I finally got around to painting him!!!

  Did a background of sorts first, then embedded the photo printed onto rice paper into the wax. Then I completely covered the photo with wax . For the frog and other details I used a hot pen with a fine tip .

  First picture is the finished painting and then I started at the begining with the progression.

'Fairy Grey"

Hallo,

  Quick post as I get myself in gear for another Monday.

   I finished this sweet little painting off over the weekend. This painting took my about 10 hours to do total all - about 9 hours of it with the fine tip hot pen. Painting is 5 by 7 inches, encaustic wax.

  The first 2 pics are the finished painting - in and out of the float frame.

  Next I start with pics of the progression of this painting . After about 4 layers of encaustic medium, I embedded the black and white photo and covered it with another couple layers of wax, I then did a thin transparent(semi) layer of off white as a base and then started detailing with the hot pen.

  The photo ends up completely covered but it gives me a place to start, like a drawing would.

Mane Event

Hallo,

  Another pretty pony for you today. 

   I used the same photo as my last pony painting, printed in black and white onto rice paper and then embedded into the encaustic wax. I then used my fine tip hot pen and completely colored him in grays and white, and then added some lush pasture for him to play in.

   I can see alot more horses in my future painting endeavors!!!

Mosaic glass couch table

Hallo,

  I have had this old 'couch table' around for at least 4 or 5 years now and had several ideas what to do with it over that time frame. I finally got around to doing one of those ideas.

   Mosaic glass beach sunset scene with resin. I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Too bad I don't have the room for it in my house.  It is down at the studio - HH ARTS Gallery in Fort Walton Beach and its for sale!!!
