Come home soon!!!
Hallo,
Showing you a card today made for a challenge from one of my Favoritist stamp companies - My Favorite Things.
This sketch was for their current Guest Design Team challenge so if I win I would get to play with all the crazy talented ladies of the My Favorite Things Design Team for a month - not to mention the lovely stash of goodies too!!!
I just got this set from MFT recently - called 'Godspeed' I had the idea to layer him onto some DP with flags on it but would you believe in all my stash I had none!!!!
So I stamped him and colored him with copics and then made the stripes by hand behind him, and then edged that layer with gold mettalic pen.
I layered the main piece to a texture patterned blue and then to the red card base - I had origionally envisioned some big gold stars down the left side but alas, another thing lacking in my stash (at least where I could get to them.....can you say thrift store/garage sale addict with found treasure stacked in front of 2 sets of drawers.....)Sooooo - I used a texture folder of bricks for the base cardstock and then sponged on a bit of walnut stained ink to show off the texture a bit more.
On to my banner - again my stash is lacking - the banner dies from MFT are on my wish list but I seem to always have a long list of stamps I want first.....BUT I did have some postage stamps with flags on them and found some brads shaped like stars (which were copper so I used a gold mettalic pen on them) and I think it made a rather cool banner!!!
Last but not least I used a phrase from the same set, and 2 more stars. My kiddos would always tell my hubby to come home soon so when I saw that phrase it made me smile :)
Alrighty I had best take myself away from the computer now and get a nap in before heading off to work tonight.
Have great weekend!!!!

Lace and Pearls
Hallo,
Well today was a busy day - I got up early and did my stretches and got on the excersise bike, then spent a couple hours hanging out with some of my stamping buddies and then ran some errands.
After my errands I was near to one of my favorite thrift shops so I popped in to see if they had anything good - and came away with a nice pile of stamps for pretty cheep , and the inevitable several picture frames....
I did these 2 cards for the current challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
The challenge is for 'lace and pearls'
I found 2 differnt lace look DP's and decided to use them for the base and stamped the lacey mediallion from the Beauty set in memento brown - then I added some 'pearls ' with a viva decor pen.
Both stamps are from CHF.

Ballet Birdhouse
Hallo,
Just a quick post this am before I head off to sleep!!!
I finished this birdhouse off yesterday after I managed to get my house cleaned (I was such a good girl - now I don't have to clean house the rest of the week!!!! :) - well one or 2 small projects like reorganize one of my kitchen closets ....)
No stamping on this sweet little birdhouse but it was a fun project. I used an old children's book and a bit of scrapbook paper, foam core, ribbon and a cute little stuffed pink bird and a little wood mouse.
The cover of the book I used as the roof and then the rest of the birdhouse is foam core covered with pages from the book and a bit of DP.
I used ribbon for the hanger of the birdhouse and covered the perch for the birdie with pink ribbon too.
The one side of the book cover had a pouch in it that was empty, so I inserted some pink rhinestones and backed it with a small picture from the pages of the book.
The birdhouse is about 11 inches tall and about 8 inches wide at the eaves, 6 at the base but thanks to the foam core it is very light. It is definatly an indoor decoration. It is going to the Etsy shop this evening!!!
Have a great day!!!

Mom's Chair
Hallo,
Well a nice and WINDY day today here in NW Florida but not as much rain as I had expected, most of that seems to have stayed to the easy of us.
Showing you a little projest that I finished off this weekend to send to a friend of mine who lost her Mom this spring.
I found the phrase from Serendipity just a month or so ago and just loved it. I had 2 friends lose their Mom's this spring so all the more reason to add this atmp to my collection!!!
The rose in the backround are from Stampin Up - colored with copics.
The chair is from Flourishes - also colored with copics and cut out with Spellbinders dies (scalloped layer is a pretty purple although it doesn't show up well in the photo.
The phrase was embossed onto vellum.
I found this old frame at one of my favorite thrift stores and loved the old fashioned look to it and the gold color!
Well all for me today - headed off to work tonight.

Hallo,
Friday am and I am off for the weekend!!!
And my DD gets home tomorrow :) - translation - I have to drive to Tallahassee to get her in the wee hours of the morning and drive back - 5 plus hours on the road.....several hours of 'quality' Mom and daughter time (she will probably sleep most of the way after we stop at Starbucks :)
This mornings card is for the current Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes - the challenge being 'from your desk' made from stuff on your desk. Well this image was already colored and on my desk and so was the bit of ribbon.
I colored the image with prismacolor pencils onto neenah desert storm and cut it out (and the next layer) with Spellbinders dies. The phrase is also from Flourishes- the hydrangea set. Lastly I accented the corners and phrase with a bronze viva decor pen.
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All for now - sleepy time.....

Freedom
Hallo
I am pre-posting for today as with any kind of luck, I am sleeping today after working last night and working again tonight!!!
I did this card for the new challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which was for 'red, white and blue' - check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used H1857 Rocking Chair and colored it with copics.
I kept the layout simple so to show off the image, even if the backround DP is a bit busy, but I liked the colors.....
I used a sticker and some blue flat-backed pearls for accents.

A walk in the park
Hallo,
Just a quick post this afternoon as I need to get myself a nap before work tonight. I didn't get as much done around the house as I wanted today but got a few things done and some time int he craft room.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Mo's which was for ' at the park' Check out the challenge here - www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com
I had this sweet image colored for some time just waiting to be used - it is colored with prismacolor pencils onto kraft paper. I then layered it to some gray toned wood grained DP and used a frame made from a Cheery Lynn die that I cut out the center from.
The phrase is a rub on put onto a scrap of the same DP and cut with a Spellbinders tag.
Lastly I added some purple pearl drops via tulip fabric paint .

Pirate Mermaid
Hallo,
Just a quick post today as I planned to be in the pool an hour ago and already back inside finishing off some chores.....alas I got trapped in computer land....My DD is at Girls State and they posted pics on a web site so I spent a bit of time looking at pics of all the girls trying to pick out my DD.....
This stamp is from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have colored her with copics. I did her for 2 different challenges - first is for the current challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers which was to use a frame - check it out here - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
The second challenge is from over at the Sweet Pea Design Team blog and is a color challenge to use green, blue and yellow - check out the challenge here - www.onesweetchallenge.blogspot.com
I used a Cheery Lynn die cut and cut out the center to shpow my image better and then added a bit of glitter around the inside edge of the frame and one simple embellishement in the skull with a couple rhinstones on it. It really doesn't take much embellishment when you have such a pretty stamp to show off!!!!

Little Bear Birdhouse
Hallo,
I am showing you a fun little project that I did this week. I had seen this idea some time ago but can't remember where, most recently I saw the idea again in a book I bought called "The repurposed library" by Lisa Occhipinti.
The birdhouse is made from an old book - in this case and old children's book. I used the cover for the roof and pages from the book to cover the sides (along with some blue DP).
I used foam core for the sides and bottom and first covered them with several blue patterned papers- then I added some of the book pages and used decopage glue over each side. I glued the sides, bottom and top together with a hot glue gun and then hot glued a thin rope-like twine around the edges and around the 'hole' for the bird. The perch is a popsicle stick covered in the twine.
I have a big bag of birds that I found at a thrift shop and used a pretty green and yellow one here - along with a mouse for the rooftop that was also in the bag with the birds.
I was happy with how this one turned out - especially for a first try. I have a few more I want to do so you will probably see more of these!!!
