Hallo,
I am finally getting my organization back in gear and finished off a card today for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
The challenge is to be 'inspired by a song' and every time I see this sweet gazebo I think of 'The Sound of Music" - you know the scene when the oldest girl meets up with her sweetheart in the gazebo......
I colored the "Gazebo" stamp #H1894 with prismacolor pencils and cut out and edged it with a gold metallic pen. I used some music paper, some gold sticker corners and some gold pearl drop using a via décor pen for decoration.
All for me today - we went out for lunch today and soon I need to get myself a nap as I work tonight....still 'feeling' my sunburn from a day out on the water with some friends so its mostly a typical Memorial Day weekend - Thanks to all who have served - including my DH, my Dad, my Father-in-law, and many, many cousins and friends!!!!!
Have a great day!!!!

Purple Quilt
Hallo,
A cold and rainy day here again - it was so warm yesterday that the cold and damp is really not welcome today :) My puppy took me for a walk in the rain - which wasn't bad - a soft rain and it was a bit warmer this morning...getting colder as the day goes on....
After a walk and some hot tea to warm back up I headed for the craft room and finished off a couple cards that I had waiting.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for 'favorite technique' - which for me is definitely coloring with the blendable pencils - prismacolors this time.
Check out the challenge over at IO here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com - play along and you could win some prize money to spend over at IO!!!!
The stamp I used today is called 'Quilt' #J1081. After coloring I backed the image with some purple handmade paper and a pretty ribbon - this pretty image really doesn't need much to show it off as it does it all by itself :)
All for today - have an errand to run and some quick things to do on the computer and then its naptime for work tonight...
Have a great week everyone!!!

New house
Hallo,
Just a quick little post today and a quick and easy card too. I needed a house warming card for a friend and this sweet house stamp from Impression Obsession - 'House' G1742 made the perfect image.
This also fit for the current challenge over at IO for 'blue' - check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I stamped the house in blue onto Neenah Desert Storm paper - (wonderful kraft colored but smooth and great for coloring on) from Paper Temptress. Then I used a texture folder on the kraft card base and the piece of blue kraft core coredinations paper. On the base cardstock I swiped the texture with the same blue ink as the house and used it on the edges of the panels too.
The coredinations paper with the kraft core in 'da bomb' - LOVE the kraft core!!!!
Last but not least some pearls - colored blue with a copic marker - as embellishments.
The phrase is a rub-on from a packet I have had for years now - slowing getting it used up....
All for today - puppy wants a walk and as it is a bit warmer today than it has been its time for a longer walk :) and its sposed to start raining tomorrow too....

IO Blue
with a pop of red....
Hallo,
A very mellow weekend at the Fujan clan household - went to brunch at one of our favorite bayside places as it will be the last semi warm day for a bit as the deep freeze is sposed to hit tomorrow.
Spent the rest of the day lounging between the couch and the craft room working on samples for the coloring class I am doing starting in a couple weeks and working on another locker hook rug.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for 'Blue'. Check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used F1929 Cardinals by Window and colored it with koh-I-noor pencils - I couldn't resist the pop of red here - for the birds and the base cardstock. The image was done on the kraft colored 'desert storm' from Paper Temptress and I used kraft core coredinations paper for the middle layer.
All for today
Stay Warm!!!!

IO Cardinals
Hallo,
One more card for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog - the challenge this time is 'simple'.
Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used the IO stamp 'Cardinals by Window' (#F1929) again and stamped it onto kraft cardstock and colored it with koh-I-noor pencils - I colored it rather lightly - headed for a faded more vintage look and then did some distressing on the layers.
All for my tonight - starting my long weekend to work - 3 12 hour night shifts in a row - bleh.....I rarely do 3 in a row anymore so not looking forward to it!!!
Have a great weekend!!!

Simply winter
Hallo,
How was everyone's Christmas??
We had a very nice mellow day - slept late, the kiddos slept later, late breakfast and open gifts and then an early afternoon turkey dinner with the fixins....It feels good to have both my kiddos in the house again, even for just a couple weeks.
DS spent the rest of the day between video games and videos and DD was watching a '24' marathon and I was watching with her and working on my newest locker hook rug (its a smaller version of the one in the photo at the bottom- DD requested it :)
I did take a bit of time in the craft room - trying to get all my stamping and demo boards done for the class I am teaching starting in January....and wound up with another simple card for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession blog - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I recently got this stamp from IO - called 'Cardinals by window' #F1929 and I stamped it in red onto Neenah desert storm craft colored cardstock, simple layers with some DP and a bit of ribbon and twine and finally topped off with some pearl drops with a bronze viva décor pen - took me all of about 10 minutes :) and its such a pretty stamp for a vintage looking card.
My DD and I went for a walk and then to the gym, and after some computer time here I am headed back to the craft room - DS is back in his room with the videos games (after I so meanly made him rake some leaves for me) and DD is watching NCIS marathon :) (with her chores yet to do....) DH had to work today...I work the weekend starting tomorrow night....
The last picture BTW is the rug I finished off a week or so ago for myself - it is 36 by 60 inches...took me about 2 and 1/2 months worth of evening couch time with the DH watching TV.
Have a great weekend!!!

Simple IO
Hallo,
A few quick and simple cards to show you today that I did for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
The stamp I used is 'Wild sweetheart rose' #H8889.
For the first and third cards I stamped it using burgundy ink and added a matching ribbon and bow.
On the first I edged the main panel with the same ink and added some matching rhinestones and the third I edged it with gold metallic pen and just added one rhinestone.
For the second card I used burgundy cardstock and edged the main panel with the burgundy ink and stamped the rose once too, then I stamped and embossed the rose in white embossing powder and added some pearl drops with a viva décor pen and the matching ribbon/bow again.
All for now as I am off to work for the evening and then tomorrow is for sleep and baking :)
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Glitter Snowflake
Hallo,
My second post for the day - trying to catch up on a challenge or 2 and this one is for the current one over at Impression Obsession and is for 'snow'. Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I just got the snowflake die from IO this week and I must say that I am impressed how detailed it is - I didn't realize when I ordered it that it had so many layers but it is very cool!!!
I cut out the snow flake from a pretty paper from Paper Temptress called 'vintage silver luster' which is a white with silver shimmer and swirls to it.
Once I cut out the snowflake from IO, I took a couple of the layers and attached them to sticker paper and then covered the rest of the sticky side with teal glitter. Then I covered that with a clear laminating sheet and added pearl drops with a viva décor pen in teal and edged the panel with silver metallic pen.
The base cardstock is another beautiful paper from Paper Temptress called - 'silver pearl linen' and I used the teal pearl drops again.
It all makes for a really shimmery and glittery card that doesn't show up near as well in my photos.
The last couple photos show my Christmas cactus - he is blooming right on time :)
Have a good night!!!

Porch predictions
Hallo,
I am running a bit late with todays post so will make it quick - I did this card for the current (for another hour - slightly less...) challenge over at Impression Obsession, which is for 'Inspired by a quote' Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used 'Framed window' #D1748 and 'Predict the future' D1383. I colored the window with lighter copics and then embossed the phrase over the top.
I can just imagine a lot of futures being imagined/predicted and planned for on a summer evening on the porch :)
We got back from our Nebraska Thanksgiving trip Saturday noonish and I worked sat and sunday nights - had a tummy bug that tore into me sunday afternoon throughout the night and most of the day Monday but thankfully am feeling better today because I have a ton of stuff to catch up on - did some house cleaning today and started making room for the Christmas tree....one card done.... :)
I am hopeful that tomorrow I will get a big pile of cards done as I have a bunch colored up for Christmas cards...
Better go now so I can get this linked up in time :)

Surfer Snow Dudes
Hallo,
A beautiful morning this morning - back up to mid 50's and sunny - ahhh....puppy got us out for a walk and then I thought about doing yard work but that didn't go very far :) I got as far as getting my new glass yard ornaments up - pictures of the second one at the bottom of this post. They were very fun to make and not very expensive either....the superglue was the most costly thing...
Todays card is for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for 'Holiday card/tags or gifts' Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used IO's 'Surfer Snow Dudes' #F2406 and colored them up with copics - I am slowly getting a nice pile of Christmas cards done :)
All for now - going to head off to the craft room for a bit . My big decision today will be to watch the Huskers play a big game today or get my pre-work nap so that at 3 am I don't need to bang my head against a wall to stay awake :)....
Have a great weekend!!!

Blue truck
Hallo,
Taking a break from putting my craft fair stuff back in the closet...I was hoping to have a lot less to put away after yesterdays craft fair but it just didn't work out that way....but I sold enough to have a bit of crafty spending money so that is good :)
Getting pictures of this card was tough - kinda a murky day here....the background DP is more on the yellow gold color than shows here.
I did this for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for your 'favorite technique'. My favorite thing is coloring and here with prismacolor pencils, blended a bit with OMS.
Also when it comes to guy cards I tend to keep it simple most of the time.
Check out the IO challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
The stamps I used are - #1866 Classic Truck and #D1383 Predict the future.
Hope you had a great weekend!!!

Fall Gazebo
Hallo,
Just a quick post before I head off to work tonight....
I did this plaque for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for 'fall colors'
Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I started with a stamp from IO called 'Gazebo' H1894 and colored it with my copics, cut it out and edged it with a cooper metallic pen..
I had this plaque in my stash - nice wood plaque but didn't like the picture that was already on it....covered the plaque with scraps of fall colored DP's and then edged the edges with a gold metallic pen.
The main image is layered to a gold paper die cut (Spellbinders) and then to a thin wood sheet that I edged with the cooper metallic pen - between those 2 layers I added a fence die cut - die is from Impression Obsession.
Lastly I added copper pearl drops with a tulip fabric paint pen.
All for today - Take Care

Learning the storm
Hallo,
A quick post before I head off to bed this am - I did this at the same time as the last IO card from Sunday.
I did this for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
The challenge is for 'things that fly'
I love these 2 airplane stamp - they are my go to for guy cards lately.
I decided to us the chalkboard technique with a bit of red for pop.
I stamped and embossed all the stamps in white onto the black and layered it to a red panel with a punched edge and a gray card base.
I edged the main panel with a silver metallic pen and added some red and black pearl drops for accents.
I used 3 stamps - all from Impression Obsession - they are #13013 Airplane collage, #13014 Airplane corner and #C13002 Calm and storm.
Well - yaawwwn - that's all for me today - worked last night and I am off to sleep and back to work again tonight!!! Looking forward to my 3 days off though!!!

Chalkboard Airplanes
Hallo,
A bit less groggy on my feet today and had some quality time in my craft room!!! It was cloudy and rainy off and on so it made for a great crafty day!!!

The challenge is for 'things that fly'
I love these 2 airplane stamps and decided to do them blackboard style.

#13014 airplane corner and #D1383 predict the future, for this card.
I embossed all the stamps with white onto black cardstock and layered that panel to a gray one and a red card base. I did separate layers for the phrase and used a rhinestone frame on that layer too.

Mummy Kitty
Hallo,
Trying to get a move on and get off to work but decided to stop in and show you a card I made today in my new craft room ( I made 2 cards today :) Feels good to get back to creating!!!
I did this for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for dies. Check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used both the large square shaker die and the fence die.
The stamp I used is 'Witchy Kitty' #F2339 and believe it or not I have had her colored up since this time last year and pulled her out of my stash to make up today (its not often an image stays in my stash of colored images for THAT long!!!)
I stamped her onto kraft cardstock and colored her with prismacolor pencils. I added small orange beads to the shaker.
I mailed my DD her fist college care package today - she requested coffee :) but I also sent her some treats and a box of german flashcards that I found somewhere deep in my old craft room so she should be able to use them (she is in a 4th level Spanish class and a first level German class - she plans to minor in both...)
All for today - better get on off to work....
Have a great night!!!
