Hallo,
A very mellow day here at the Fujan house today :) Took puppy for her morning walk, a bit of crafting time working on DD's rug, then took the kids and the puppy to lunch (sitting out on the porch at Hooters - had a gift certificate that expired today) and then some more craft time in my craft room - finishing up a couple cards for a challenge over at Flourishes. Might have to get into the pool for a bit this evening - nice and hot outside :)
The Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes this week is to 'make a splash' something to do with water.
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I chose this sweet image of the boy fishing and embossed him in 'vintage photo' distress powder onto DP. Added some more DP printed with fish and tags - all from the same paper pack. I distressed the edges of the main panels with dark blue and then added some accents with a bronze viva décor pen.
All for today - Hope you had a great weekend!!!!

Old Gold Christmas Pointsetta
Hallo,
Man is it hot here today - although thanks to clouds and a bit of rain, a smidge cooler than yesterday - 87 with 90% humidity verses 90 and 90.....
Spending some time in the craft room and finished off this card. I am trying to do a couple Christmas cards a week so that I don't have as many to do at the last minutes come Christmas time.
This pretty poinsettia is from Flourishes and I colored him with prismacolor pencils. I used a lot of the gold pencil and then some silver on the background.
I cut the main image out with a Spellbinders die and edged it with gold - edged the DP panels with gold too. Added some gold pearl drops with a tulip fabric paint pen and a couple ribbons - a bronze brown one and a multi-colored one to bring out the small bits of red and green in the DP.
All for today folks - Hope you are having a great weekend!!!

Big news :)
Hallo,
First I have some really SWEET news :) - I have been chosen to be on the Design Team for the "Sweet Pea Stampers" challenge blog!!!! Check out the announcement here - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/sweet-pea-stampers-exciting-news.html
I love my Sweet Pea Stamps and have played along with the challenges a lot in the last year or so (not as much in the last few months with graduation and ect.) but I am so excited to join these gals.
I am going to try and get the DT list up on my sidebar this weekend but am fighting a nagging headache and may just side on the couch and work on my DD's rug or color instead.
Look out for the next challenge from the Sweet Pea Stampers - coming up on the 5th of July!!!!
I already have cards done for the first couple challenges and am working ahead - between work and taking a couple weeks the end of the summer to drive my DD up to Nebraska for college, this way I am ahead of the game :)
Well the next couple pictures show my progress on DD"s rug - I have the edge done (helps hold it in place better) and the spear point in gray and started on the shaft of the spear in brown. The letters are not showing up quite as well as I would like - kinda debating redoing them but I will have to think about that - as it will be harder to do.....
Last but not least - I do have a couple cards in the works so I may be back this afternoon - maybe tomorrow....off to lunch now with DH and the kiddos....

Colors of summer
Hallo,
A short post this afternoon - time to go play in the pool (well excersise first with water aerobics and then play :)
I made this for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for 'colors of summer'. Check it out here - http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/
I love the combo of teals and orange - we see a lot of that combo here in Florida :)
I used a stamp from Impression Obsession called 'candy jars' #G2332 and colored it with prismacolor pencils.
I used 2 teal ribbons and some teal pearl drops with a viva décor pen on top of some orange DP.
Alright - time for a splash....
Have a great day!!!

Scalloped Cowboy Christmas
Hallo,
Its early Saturday am and I am not sure what I will do today - a long walk this am with DH and Miss Kyna but after that who knows...have to work tonight so will be napping mid-afternoon, but other than that, we will see.....
Todays card is for the current challenge over at Flourishes which this time is for 'scallops' Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used this sweet cowboy hat and colored it up with prismacolor pencils and layered it to some Christmas paper - I tried for a more masculine card here and the deer paper was perfect.
I kept it pretty simple - other than the DP and a bit of distressing on the edges, all I used was some bronze pearl drops with a viva décor pen.
All for now - off to see what the morning has in store.....
Have a great weekend!!!!

Dragon Sailor
Hallo,
Welcome to Friday - course its more my Monday as I work the next 2 nights but its a nice relaxing day for me anyhow. Miss Kyna (my puppy) took me for my morning walk and then I have been putzing around between craft and computer most of the day (a reward for doing all my house cleaning yesterday :)
Both the kids were off work this am - DD works this evening - so it was nice to hang out with them for lunch :)
I have had this cute little dragon colored up for awhile and decided that this was his day to get the finishing touch :)
I am using him for 2 challenges - first for the challenge over at 'One Sweet Challenge' http://onesweetchallenge.blogspot.com/ which is to use buttons and a ribbon .
The second challenge is over at "Sweet Pea Stampers' http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/ which is 'for the children'
For the first challenge I used a piece of multi-colored ribbon that had some blue and green in it to match the Dragon and the waves, and some rustic old blue toned buttons.
I used a Sweet Pea stamp from Lisa Victoria - Pirate Dragon which is great for the kiddos - my 2 were always very interested in dragons and dinosaurs....
He is colored with prismacolor pencils and the layers were cut with Spellbinders dies.
Alrighty its time for me to get off the computer and do some work on my DD's rug....
Have a great weekend!!!

Catching up....
Hallo,
Just a short note to catch up a bit this afternoon - after 2 weeks off for my DD's graduation and party(first week with the second week to recover :) I went back to work Monday night - boy that never seems to get easier :) Ahhh well it was a couple good nights and back in the swing of things....
A few pictures to show you what I have been up to lately - the first couple are of a locker hook rug that I did with yarn instead of fabric. The yarn was really soft and fluffy and it did make a great rug but I will never do another one - it took over 18 skeins of fancy yarn and was wayyy more expensive than I had thought....but then again its so soft and cushy :) (putting it up on my Etsy shop tonight)
I found this great dresser at my favorite thrift shop last week - its 7 foot long and 18 inches wide and solid wood - even the drawer bottoms (not flimsy plywood) - it is so going in my new craft room the end of the summer :) It is in perfect shape except for the paint job which I am not sure I am going to change - very shabby chic looking :).
And I finally spent a day cutting fabric strips with my Accu cut (which is absolutely fabulous!!!!) and finally started my DD's rug. It will be 34 by 58 inches , not counting fringe...I have a month and 1/2 to get it done so I guess I had better get off the computer now and back to it - well after a bit of time in the pool (water aerobics).

Fancy folds
Hallo,
Another Flourishes challenge card for you this am- the Tuesday challenge this week is for a fancy fold or motion card. This is a 3D portrait die from Accu Cut that was designed by my friend Vicki Chrisman - www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com
I had some oppses on this one but in the end it turned out ok - I ended up distressing it with a bit of gesso because the background on the inside turned out too dark - I stamped the flower image as a background in walnut stain and it was way too dark so I sponged the gesso over it until it only shows a little and used red instead of walnut stain on the front which looked a lot better - a bit of gesso on the front just to tie it all together.
The stamp is from Flourishes of course - stamped onto tan cardstock and colored with prismacolor pencils. The phrases are also from Flourishes - embossed with red onto the DP and layered to some textured coordinations paper.
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog
Now that I am caught up on my challenges - puppy says its way past time for her walk.....

Natures Texture
Hallo,
Trying to get myself in gear this am.....need to get out for a walk before it gets even hotter....
A card to show you this am for the release challenge over at Flourishes - www.flourishes.org/blog
The challenge was 'textures of nature' - the textures included here include the textured cardstock, the gold embossing and then some liquid pearls for the 'snow' and tree ornaments and ect.
I used the 'portrait die' from Accu cut that was designed by my friend Vicki Chrisman www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com
I also used stamps and a die from Flourishes. It is hard to see but the DP is a light blue with brown pattern - I edged the pieces with red and embossed the phrases with red embossing powder.
The center image was colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out with the matching die from Flourishes.
I used a bit of ribbon on the center panel and also used it to tie the 3 way card closed - I believe I got the ribbon from Flourishes too but not sure if they still carry it.
All right, its time for me to get a move on....a couple errands to run and then I will be spending a couple hours cutting strips for my next locker hook rug project because I have all the trays and ect needed for my die now :)

Floral Impressions
Hallo,
Well I managed to get this weeks challenge for Impression Obsession done on time (but I still haven't done the chores I was sposed to get done today - still time before super.... :)
The challenge was 'Bloom where you are planted' - check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used 'Watering can fence' H1799 and colored it with prismacolor pencils. Added some great DP with sunflowers and a pop of red and the bright green mesh ribbon.
Alright I had better get busy -I have to move the critter food bins off the porch and into the garage. We had a raccoon (and a possum for that matter - but last night was the raccoon)that liked to visit and try to get at the cat and dog dry food. Well first we had forgot to put the barrier in the doggy door and at 1 am the DH and puppy chased the coon off the porch and put the barrier in - well the determined critter made a hole in the screen next to the doggy door and got back in, and knocked the bins over - that was about 230 am......so I guess if we want any sleep tonight between coon knocking things over and puppy barking wildly I had better get busy...
Have a great day!!!

Siam Goddess
Hallo,
Well Graduation week is over and my DD is patiently awaiting dorm and roomy assignments as well as class assignments and I am in the middle of cleaning house :)
I did this card over the weekend for a request off my Etsy shop - I have another card which is a dark haired version of this stamp in my shop. I colored it up during a spare evening this last week and then finished off the card last night after we got the last batch of family on the plane (lots of delayed flights this weekend due to weather)
I colored this image from Sweet Pea Stamps with prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders die.
I am entering her in the current challenge over at the Sweet Pea blog which is for buttons and ribbons (and I forgot a button...... arrg) I used a brown suede ribbon and a lacey one too. Check out the challenge here - www.onesweetchallenge.blogspot.com
I am also using this one for my entry for the Sweet Pea Stampers Design Team call - which would be a really sweet gig for me :) I have a ton of Sweet Pea stamps but there is always more I would like :) (its an addiction) And since I am getting my own craft room at the end of the summer(my DD's room - I am a bad mommy I guess) I should have more space and be better organized and can play with my rubber (stamps that is) more :) Check out the DT call here - www.thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk - but hurry its getting down to the last day!!!
All right - I guess I had better get back to cleaning so I can squeeze in some errands and maybe some craft time too....
