Hallo,
Just dropping in for a quick post today before I head to work....I didn't get Christmas cards made to send out this year and horror of horrors had to send out store bought!!
The card I did this am was started last year at this time.....ah hem....yup...
The base for this card is a lovely 3D die cut from Accu Cut that was designed by my friend Vicki Chrisman as is the bow die on the front of the card. Really makes this kind of card easy to do!!!!
All the patterned cardstock on the inside is part of the die cut also.
The middle panel is highlighted by the front of one of last years Christmas cards that was too pretty to throw away - I cut the picture out of the card with a Spellbinders die.
Cutting already done from last year, all I had to do was fold, glue, tape and add pretty pretties too.
Have a Great day!!!

Hallo,
WOW 3 days posting in a row!!!
This is a bigger painting - 18 by 24 - done with cold wax and oil paints. I worked on this one over several weeks not entirely happy with it but I really like the colors and am please with the sails and the dolphins....

Coral Bubbles
Hallo,
Back with the color version of this weekends experiments with a new process from a video by Elizabeth Schowachert.
Lots of layers and I didn't take pictures of every layer .....first 3 , then the finished painting in several views and then 2 close ups.
I cant wait to get some more time to paint - lots of ideas cropping up in my noggin for this technique....
Have a great day!!!

Coral - black and white
Hallo,
Been Quite awhile since I have blogged anything - busy with Thanksgiving and Christmas and just painting whenever I had a chance.
Mid November the Hubby and I flew up to Fort Lee Virginia to see my daughter graduate from Quatermaster training school, and her boyfriend as well and got to meet the boyfriend for the first time.
Spent some time with friends that live close by as well which was a nice mini vaca - except for one little thing - I was walking at the airport, walking fast to get to the next gait on our way there and my knee popped and felt like someone put a knife through my kneecap.....
Knee is better but it has prompted me to look more seriously at the possibility of a knee replacement - gotta save up some PTO time first....
Next in line was Thanksgiving/Christmas week - My daughter was home and we had both Holidays in one as well as having Thanksgiving dinner at the new boyfriends Grandparents place - as they live only literally blocks from us.....
My daughter left on 28 Nov for her first military post in Vilsek Germany. She is doing well and having fun so far!!
My son will be home for Christmas!!!
And other than work, walking the pups and house cleaning there isn't too much else to tell.
So on to todays painting. I got myself an encaustic teaching video from Elizabeth Schowachert and this was a couple days playing with using her video(I did 2 paintings at once so as to allow them to cool a bit between layers - the other one I will show you tomorrow)
The pics go in order and I didn't take pictures of every step but this first one shows the texture, and the second one shows the added 'coral' and then last ones are with the 'orbs' and last touches in different views and 2 close ups.....
Its a fun process and I will be doing a few more!!!
