Bayou paintings

Hallo,

Finally have some paintings to show you - I haven't had too much time to paint in the last few months and have been working on these three for awhile now.

We have a Bayou themed show at our local art cooperative - ASDO (Arts and Design Society) here in Fort Walton Beach so I wanted to have a couple to enter. I almost always work on 2 or 3 paintings in the same theme when I am painting anyhow. After a few layers of encaustic with heat fusing each layer - you sometimes have to let the painting sit and cool a bit. I go back and forth between them  so they can cool in-between.

The first painting is 8 by 10 inches and more fallish colors. The second one is 16 by 20 inches and the last 8 by 10 again. The last 2 I framed in black float frames and have turned them in for the show.

The paintings were inspired by a small stretch of bayou along a road we often walk in the am with the pups.

Hope fully I will be showing you more paintings this summer, but it is going to be a busy one with a couple trips planned.  I am looking forward to this fall - I am retiring from the whole 'JOB' scene the end of sept.  I think 41.5 years as a Nurse (mostly in Critical Care) is quite enough for me!!! I am looking forward to more time in the studio and more time with the Grandbabies!!!

All 3 paintings are available in my Etsy shop = www.translucentfirefly.etsy.com

All for now - hope to see you soon with more projects.

               Tera
