Fall Thank-you

Hallo,
Just a quick post while the turkey is cooking :)
I finished this card up yesterday for 2 challenges.
The first challenge was for a thankful card using fall colors over at In A Sweet Pea Dream. Now I tried several differnt options to add the Thank-you onto the front of the card but didn't like any of them so ended up putting it on the inside - then I forgot to take a pic of the inside so I hope this still works.
The second challenge is over at Sweet Pea Stampers and is 'sticker shock' - to use stickers.
I used gold foil stickers down the left side and int he opposite 2 corners.

I colored this lovely Sweet Pea Stamps image with prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders die. The next layer is coredinations paper - white with gold core - that I ran through an embossing folder and sanded off to reviel the gold tones. Both panels are edged with copper metallic pen and I distressed the edges of the second layer with copper rub-on.

All for today :) - fixins to make to go with our turkey and some picking up to do as we have company today too:)

Sweet Purple Mermaid

Hallo,


Well I am on week 2 of a bit of vacation time I took from work and really haven't done a whole lot - had planned to get yard work done and excersise (as well as stamp). But all I have gotten done is stamp :). I feel like one of the pouty kids from Mo's - and can almost hear my whiney voice saying - 'I don't wanna!!!!"


To be fair I have done a little studying for a test I am taking on thursday and did get some house work done today.....I plan to get more ambitious tomorrow.....


But for today - I have this sweet image from Sweet Pea Stamps to show you. They are having a contest for your best card over at the Sweet Pea DT blog - check it out here - http://www.sweetpearubberstamps.blogspot.com/

I stamped her in memento black and then colored her with copics. I added highlights with purple and gold spica glitter pens.

I cut her and the next 2 layers with Spellbinders dies and edged her main panel with gold mettalic pen.

I used a texture folder on the base cardstock and highlighted the texture with teal ink, and then added some pearls to finish her off.

Harvest Sweet Pea

Hallo,
Great morning here in NW FLorida - sunny and nice and cool. A quick post and then I plan to get a bunch of house cleaning done....
I did this card for 2 different challenges.
First challenge is from Sweet Pea Stampers for embossing - you can check it out here - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
And the second is for the new challenge over at In A Sweet Pea Dream which is for anything goes - and you can check that one out here - www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com

This sweet Sweet Pea image was colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out with a Spellbinders die and edged with gold metallic pen.
The layer behind her is assorted leaves that I cut from scratch paper and the plain cardstock ones were run through different texture folders (embossed) and then I highlighted the textures by sponging on some ink.
Most of the leaves are the yellows and browns from the main image and then I mounteed them all on purple paper to matchy match the grapes.
All for this am - hopefully I will have another post later this evening if I get my chores done in time to have some time to play in the craft room..... :)

Sweet Mermaid Bright

Hallo,
First sorry for the dark pics - I usually take them outside but it was so hot, muggy and steamy yesterday that my camera lens kept fogging up and after 3 tries I gave up and took them indoors which doesn't have great light.....
This lovely little mermaid is from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have done her up for 2 sepaerate challenges.
First challenge is for Sweet Pea Stampers blog for 'sweet and bright' which of course was soooo easy - sooooo many SWEET images from SPS!!!!! Check out the challenge here - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com/

I colored her with copics and spica glitter pens and then added some beads in a bottle by tulip to the ATC, card and on her tail and earrings too.

Forest Cat Princess

Hallo,
Wednesday am and just getting off work - 4 DAYS OFF!!!!!! I will get a short nap and then have some errands to run, hope to get to the gym and some cleaning done.....
But first I want to show you an ATC that I did with one of my new stamps from 'Sweet Pea Stamps' I really love this series - already shown you the one with the wolf, so today is the one with the Bobcat - aren't they just too cool!!!!
I colored them with prismacolor and lyra pencils - the image itself is right about ATC size and is wonderful all by itself so I didn't add anything in the way of foo-foo.





I colored their eyes the same and her lips match his nose too - can you tell I had fun with this one!!!

Dappled Unicorn

Hallo,
I have been having fun coloring lately and am really happy with how this one turned out!!!! I just LOVE this image!!! I am a horse nut from waaaayyy back and have always loved Unicorns and Pegasus too.
This image is from Sweet Pea Stamps and is colored with copics and spica glitter pens. The same image on the envelope was done with pencils for a softer look.

Golden Pearl

Hallo,
Just a quick note this evening - I finished off this card today . I got a good nap after work and then my DD and I went to the gym. I lifted weights and got on one of the recumbent elliptical for a good bit....

Pretty in pink

Hallo,
Just a quick note this am and off to run errands and get some yard work done.....
This is one of the cards I finished this weekend - I had already colored her and had her in my stash (the last of my stash...) so I finished her up using challenges from both 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' and 'Swet Pea Stampers' - first for lace and second for 'swirls of summer'.

She is colored with prismacolor pencils. I cut the frame with Spellbinders lacey square and the background is a texture folder. I did the pearls with viva pearl pen.

Egyptian Mermaid

Hallo,
Well after a very hot and sweaty morning trying to make a start catching up on yard work - rewarded but some time in the pool (doing water aerobics but still relaxing :) - I am determined to get in some quality stamping time.
The teens were up till about 4 am ish and then several were back up by 630 to shower and get home so I have a feeling both of my teens will be layin' around a bit today :)

This great image is of course from Sweet Pea Stamps and is colored with prismacolor pencils. The 'frame' is a Spellbinders die cut 4 times from a shimmery blue cardstock.
I am not entirely happy with my rendition of darker skin tones but I still like how she turned out over all.

Sweet Pea - red and gray wings

Hallo,
Just a quick post as its 1 am (I will backpost for wednesday...) and I am headed back to bed....my first day off often plays havoc with my sleep - come home in the am and sleep anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on how tired I am (I set the alarm for 6 hours but often wake up earlier - but not today...) so after sleeping 6 hours when its time for evberyone else in the house to get off to bed I am usally not too tired .....but on my second day off often need to hit the ground running at about 6 am.....blah,blah, blah - so I need to getback to bed here soon.....
First I want to show you another Sweet Pea card that I did for this weeks challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' blog - the challenge is for 'wings' - now how easy is that :)!!!!
I colored this pretty with prismacolor pencils and even though I like the colors - I think I will have to do her with copics next time as some of the detail seems to get lost with the pencils on this image......(and I flubbed my coloring some near her hand....)



The reds in the main image really do match the background papers - really - somehow I couldn't get a good pic - it kept making the background papers just a bit more pinkish.....
Cut the main image and panel behind with a Spellbinders die and added some pearl embellishmnets...

Sweet Pea - orange wings

Hallo,
Monday morning again and JUNE already!!!!! WOW
Today's card was done for this weeks challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' - for wings (and a Sweet Pea image of course, but there are plenty to chose from!!). Check out the challenge here - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com/


I colored her with copics and was trying for darker skin tones - not perfect, a little darker than I wanted because you can't see the details around her face very well.....
But I did like how all the oranges and reds turned out.....
I used some yummy BG paper behind her, an orange ribbon, some lighter crochet ribbon and lastly used my copics to color some pearls to match.
Well it was a hot and steamy weekend here in NW Florida and the Pirates once again took over the town yesterday - we parked out lawn chairs right at the edge of the action (hours before) and watched as the town Militia bravely fought the Pirates but ultimately lost (for the 56 th year in a row :). After the battle we took part in the booty and debauchery that is a Pirate celebration (beads throw me some beads, throw me a cup!!! Coin - here, throw me a coin :) - silly, yes we know :) - If you would like - scroll back a post for a few Pirate pictures.....from saturdays row.....yesterday we all just layed around the house (the heat wipes me out - although I didn't get sunburned this year....and the kids were tired because they ran errands and helped out at the festival as part of the ROTC group.) Too bad the fireworks got rained out - both nights....friday evening was a quick late afternoon downpour that got the fireworks and last night was a full blown evening thunderboomer we so often get here in the summer (we actually needed the rain big time....).
All for today - worked last night, back to work tonight but only 3 more shifts - including tonights - till vacation - "North to Alaska" !!!!!

Sweet Pea - lotsa flowers

Hallo,
Its a Sweet Pea morning!!!
I finished up this card yesterday afternoon - went so quick too. I had done alot of coloring a few weeks a go and so have a small stash of images all ready to go. It makes it quick when you can easily find DP to match what you colored....I often color after I pick out the DP but in this case had just did a bunch of coloring and got lucky that the first paper pack I picked up had what I wanted for DP!!!

This beautiful Sweet Pea Stamps image is colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out with a Spellbinders labels die - using an out-of-the-box technique.

Hallo,
Just a quick post for you today....2 nights down , one more to work - then I am off for a week and 1/2 - YIPPEEEE.
Friday I am headed for Chicago for a major ICU Nursing Convention/Education seminars.
Not only is this conferance one of the best way to keep up with all the new stuff in the medical world but also a great way to stay in touch with all the stuff I don't do on a regular basis and to hang out with some 8 to 10 thousand other ICU Nurses!!!

I did this card for 2 seperate challenges.

I used my 2 favorite colors again - purple and teal (this time with a pop of orange :)

The second challenge is for 'Sweet Pea Stampers' challenge to reuse and recycle - The purple frond background is actually an envalope that I have been saving for a couple months now, and the corners decorations are the innards of a punch that I saved too. Sweet Pea favorite colors

Hallo,
I have a wonderful Sweet Pea image to show you today.

She is colored with prismacolor pencils and will be for this weeks challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' to use your favorite color. Check it out here - www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com

Well my 2 favorite colors are purple and teal and this one has a bit of both.

I cut her and the layer under her with Spellbinders dies and edged them with gold metallic pen.

The base layer is another glimmer mist second - I sprayed over a screen for another project and then layed this cardstock on top of the screen to pick up the glimmer mist left on the screen.

It is very warm and humid here today(I even have the AC on...) - 80 degrees and 70 % humidity - I went for a walk and did some yard work this am, and then I almost jumped into the pool - It looks so good but it is still just a touch cool for me. The weather is sposed to be warm all weekend so the pool should be warm enough tomorrow or on Sunday.

All for me today - heading back into the craft room for a bit....

Oriental Fairy

Hallo, A quick post before I am off to bed for the day.... Have I mentioned lately that I love to color and love my Sweet Pea Stamps.....think I might have .... This beauty was colored with copics and spica glitter pen. I paper pieced her dress with the same DP as the background and then colored and shaded a bit on the paper piecing..... I cut her out with a Spellbinders labels die and edged the panel with gold mettalic pen, and then layered her to 2 different DP's. I embellished with some fancy pearl swirls (pearl swirls is kinda fun to say.....uh oh, me thinks I need some sleep.....) I am entering her for the current challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' which is for a spring card.
