Another pink Christmas basket - with red and green trees. I am usually not a big fan of pink but these pink baskets have turned out kinda cute.
7 1/4 round by 2 1/4 tall with a large seashell slice for the base.

I am not getting much painting done these days - my studio space is very cluttered and is getting a big make over the weekend after Christmas.
So another basket for you today - my Mom claimed this one as soon as I finished it. I used a vintage hand painted decorative plate - the kind folks used to hang on their walls for decoration. The second picture shows the signature and the date it was painted.
All for today but more baskets to come....I happened into Michaels the other days and bought more cording with the idea turning in my head for a couple Christmas baskets, so stay tuned.

Showing off 2 more small baskets today made with seashell slices as a base. The first one was done while on our trip back home to Nebraska earlier this month for a wedding. the second was started while waiting for my Hubby who was having surgery.
The beads on the second basket were made with plaster cloth, a layer of encaustic, a layer of silk fabric and another layer of encaustic.

I found and old silver bowl at a thrift store, shined it up and used it as a base for a sweet little basket. I stands about 5 inches tall and 8.5 inches round at the top.
I used 1/4 inch coil from Dick Blick art store and some hemp twine I found at Joanns, beads are also from Joanns.
This one took me about 2 weeks total.

My hubby and I were out of town for 2 weeks on a driving trip up to the midwest. A total of 6 days of drive time - 2 days at a time - long days of driving too. I have a hard time sitting that long without something to do so I brought along some supplies to make a few little baskets. For driving I use a slightly thicker cord than I usually use because it is easier to work with in the car.
Purple and turquoise were the colors of choice this time. I had one other one too but left it as a gift for the Hosts of our AirBnB in Nebraska - they were AWESOME!!!

Well these little baskets are such fun to make - keeps my hands busy while hanging out on the couch in the evenings watching TV/movies.
I had a pair of old earrings in my stash and decided to use the bigger part of each and make a couple baskets. The earring part is gold and black with rhinestones so I used some black and gold hemp twine for the wrapping. The base is a paper coil - first and second pics.
The basket measures 6.5 inches round and 2 inches deep.
All for now - have to get busy and finish cleaning my house.....I really like it when it is done but really greatly dislike the process of house cleaning!!!!

Another basket to show you today - my time to paint in the studio has been a bit thin in the last couple weeks but there are works in progress.
I found a coupler cute vintage wood trays at a thrift shop and decided to use them as a basket start. The tray had a rim/lip on it that I drilled some holes into to attach the coil to. I had some hemp twine that matched the colors of the flowers too.
The basket is about 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches and about 2 inches tall.

A small basket for you today that I made in the car on a recent weekend trip up to see the Grandbaby - and my Daughter and Son-in-law.
It is about a 6 to 7 hours of driving time depending on traffic and pit stops so I usually bring something along to keep me busy. I started this one the day before our trip and had about 2 and a half rows done when we started the trip and finished it about 5 hours into the trip(with a couple pit stops for me and the pups).
I used a large seashell slice for the basket start and another at the end for a decoration and a few colored beads. The coil is a twisted paper coil and I wrapped it with the light turquoise hemp twine.
The basket is just a bit bigger than my hand and about 2.5 inches tall.
