Silver Wedding card

Hallo,
Well silly me decided to volunteer for an extra shift tonight - hoping that they really wouldnot need me - HA imagine that.....but I will post quick before I get in the shower and maybe the phone will ring ....
Another wedding or anniversary card using this wonderful set from Flourishes - today in silver instead of gold (yesterdays post...)
I used a 'drop shadow' technique for the couple - stamping first in gray and then embossing in silver (stamped just a shade to the right of the original stamped image in gray to leave a 'shadow').
I cut the main image and the next layer with a Spellbinders dies and the arch is from Heartfelt Creations.
I used the same shimmery cardstock - with a subtle texture for the textured layer - edged with silver metallic pen and the base cardstock.
The pearl accents are done with a viva decor pen and the silver ones with a fabric paint pen from tulip.
Ok time to 'face the music' and get my butt in the shower.....the extra $$ will be nice come payday.....
Take Care
I hope I can get some stamping time in tomorrow after aI wake up!!!! I haven't done much stamping this week (most of my posts have been saved from more stamp productive weeks.....sigh.....)
Have a great day!!!

Golden Wedding card

Hallo,
I have been doing some wedding cards again - I just love this set from Flourishes!!!!
I embossed the couple in gold onto a gold patterned paper and then cut it out with a Spellbinders die, and then edged it with a gold mettalic pen.
The gold die cut is from Cheery Lynn and I used a gold mettalic paper.
Under the die cut is a panel of the same shimmery cardstock as the base cardstock (it has a subtle texture to it) that I ran though an embossing folder to add some interest under the die cut.
Both the gold and pearl accents were done with viva decor pens.
Well short but sweet as I am pre-posting and working/sleeping IRL :)

Button baby

Hallo,
Well didn't get any time in the craft room today....up early and out for a walk and then to run errands.... I dropped some kids books off at the daycare that my kids used to go to, the rest of the books that I sorted out from the piles yesterday went to my little small town library (what is not in good shape for the library will go to their thirift shop and porcedes go to the library too), then the gym, and the base consignment/thrift shop to consign the rest of the pile from yesterdays adventure :)
Next was groceries, shower and a trip up to the HS to drop off something for DD (softball away game tonight and she wanted something to do on the bus....). Then I had planned to go to a little tea place for lunch that also consigns artsy stuff but they weren't open today (I didnt realize they were closed on mondays.....so will try that again later in the week....)
After all the running around I got a bit of lunch and sat and read for about a half hour and then layed down for a nap.....just as I was falling asleep someone rings the doorbell,(arrgg) I didnt answer but noone left a note or anything so it was probably a salesman......ok better get off the computer now and pack my lunch and make some super......
Ok finally a bit about my card :) - The stamp is from My Favorite Things and colored with copics. The 'buttons' were done with the button die from MFT also...
Have a great week everyone!!!

Dumbbell Journal

Hallo,
Well it was a busy day here - the first sunshine we have had in weeks!!!
After church and lunch I made the kiddos help me clean out our attic above the garage - mostly DS as DD had a bunch of homework to catch up on but she helped us put stuff away....
I got rid of a bunch of holiday decs that had gotten ratty and about half of my books I had store up there. Going through the box of kids books was tough but decided to give away about hald of those....
It is much more organized up there now - will be able to find stuff and even can move around a bit up there....
This is a little 4X4 notebook that I recevered to use as an excersise journal....
All the stamps are from My Favorite Things and the main image is colored with copics.
Now I just need to get more motivated and fill up those pages better :)
All for today...Take Care

Spring is in the air....

Hallo,
This card made me feel like spring was in the air but the weather doesn't today....rain, rain and more rain...feels so good just to lay around with a good book today :) - after sleeping late and waking up to a cup of hot tea and checking my email.....
Needless to say I havenot made it to the craft room yet today but I think I am headed there after I finish off here....
I used the 'drop shadow' technique again for this card and stamps from Gina K.
I tried something funky with the dies to cut out the main image - used an out-of-the-box technique for the phrase and then traced around another die to get the shape for around the phrase....not too sure it turned out like I had planned .....
All for today :)

Lamplight shadows

Hallo,
Just a quick post this afternoon - doesn't look like I will get anything finished in the craft room in time to take pics today - especially as dreary as it is.
I got up about 130 pm and started in on a bit of yard work - I had recieved several plants that I ordered in the mail on wed afternoon and they needed to get planted (and its sposed to rain all day tomorrow) so I planted and then layed down a bit of mulch in spots that the rain always seems to wash a low spot before it started getting dark....I had to make a quick run to Lowes for mulch and more potting soil but I got it done and a quick walk with my ol pooch to boot.
Todays card I did for a challenge over at Stamp TV to use the 'drop shadow ' technique. I was trying for a more guy type look so it doesn't have a whole lots of foo foo to it :).
I stamped the lamppost in memento gray first and then in black, the phrase was doen first in gray and then in red which matches the base cardstaock.
The DP is black and white edged with mettalic gold pen, and I added a red with some gold in it mesh ribbon and some gold accents to the corners with a viva decor pen.
All stamps are from Gina K.
All for today - time to get a shower and head for the craft room before the chitlins and the DH get home :).

Blue Summer Porch

Hallo,
Remember this stamp from about a week or so ago? Well I wanted to use the other sheet of DP that I was considering using with the last one so I colored this one the same except the curtains and the flowers which I colored yellow to match better.
I did this one for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for blue. I colored the window and shutters blue and the trim around the stamped image. The DP has blue in it and I added a blue lace type ribbon too. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils.
I also used some blue pearl drops made with a tulip fabric paint pen.
The stamp I used is called 'Rocking Chair' and its number H1857.
Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
Ok thats all for me this am - off to bed!!
