Encaustic Addiction...and craft room pics

 Hallo,
Well it is 130 pm and I worked last night and haven't been to sleep yet - going to try and stay up until normal people bedtime now because if I do go to sleep I will be down for the count and probably wake up at 3 am, wide awake.
I had an art class this am from 9 till noon - encaustic wax painting. I took this same class last year at this time and since I haven't quite got my craft room completed yet, I decided to take it again.
The first pic is a group of my least favorite from today - I started with my favorite colors - purple and teal and those turned out really well, then I decided to switch colors and did some in red and green and then did 2 of them over in mostly reds.....
The second photo is the very last one I did today because after going back to the purples and teals, I was determined to get something in reds done that I liked and I do like this one - gold, red and orange.
The second one in a frame I did with light purples and silver and then used a rubber stamp of an oriental woman and dipped her into melted dark purple wax and quickly stamped her onto the background.
The last 2 wax pics - 2 groupings of 4- are my favorite of the day and will probably go into a frame sometime very soon!!!
The last 4 pics are of my new craft space (i.e. - DD's former room :) Its not totally finished but about 98% for IN the craft room - I am going to still be taking up some space in the dining room (aka old craft room) until I can get a move on and start doing some more stuff :)
Okay dokay - I had better get out of this chair and keep moving or sleepys will catch up to me....

Gray wolf

 Hallo,
Well I am a bit late getting my card posted for the challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers this time around ....but only a little bit. I had a crazy couple days at work and then I have been without internet until later yesterday.....and I ran a lot of errands yesterday so when I sat down to get on the computer I kept falling asleep.....does that mean I am getting old???
Well the challenge this time around is for 'kraft' paper or cardstock. I stamped the image - Predatory by Rebecca Sinz - onto kraft colored cardstock by Neenah which is smooth and wonderful to color on. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils.
Check out the challenge and all the wonderful inspiration from my fellow DT members here - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/
I used a base cardstock of kraft and 2 DP's with kraft tones to them - and edged all the panels in with a silver metallic pen.
I used a pretty kraft colored lace ribbon and a black felt ribbon, black rhinestone bling to frame the main image and little silver sticker corners too.
Well I had better get a move on - puppy to walk, errands to run and then to try and work on getting the last of my new craft room put together....
   Have a great day!!!

Teal Anemones

 Hallo,
Well 2 very busy days (nights) at work, a day without internet, I was beginning to thinks I was going to miss out on all the release week fun over at Flourishes!!! But thankfully I have my internet back and my card made!!!!
The challenge for release week was to make a shaped card or 3D item - I am still in the growing pain phase of getting my craft room in order - lots of stuff to find places for yet.....
Check out the challenges and release sneak peaks here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I started with an accu cut die cut in teal and some patterned paper - the die was designed by my friend Vicki - http://vickichrisman.blogspot.com/
Then I stamped 3 panels with the main image from the 'Anemones' stamp set from Flourishes and colored them with copics. I cut them out with Spellbinders dies and used the accent pieces of the accu cut die to frame them.
The phrase I stamped over the main panel (which I colored a bit lighter than the other 2) is a stmp from Gina K Designs
All for today - I need to check out all the new sets over at Flourishes!!!

StampTV Inspiration Hop

Hallo,
Welcome to another Gina K Designs CSS blog hop. This time around we are using this beautiful fall picture as our inspiration.
You probably came to me from the Fabulous Miesje http://miesdf.blogspot.com/2013/09/css-inspiration-blog-hop-9-10-2013.html  where I am sure she had something wonderfully creative for you.
I love fall and the love the colors of fall best, so  that is what I used as my inspiration this time. I used the grid from the set 'Inspiration Mosaic' and patched in scraps of DP in fall colors.
I used a phrase from 'Poster board Sentiments' on top in some matching papers. I edged the edges with a gold metallic pen and used some gold sticker corners for accents.
A quick card in my favorite colors and my very first card in my new craft room - almost done moving stuff (have a few things to find homes for yet) I should have the finished pictures later in the week for you - maybe tomorrow (I work tonight  - speaking of which I had better get a move on :)
I am last on the hop list tonight so I hope you had fun along the way!!!

Mummy Kitty

Hallo,
Trying to get a move on and get off to work but decided to stop in and show you a card I made today in my new craft room ( I made 2 cards today :) Feels good to get back to creating!!!
I did this for the current challenge over at Impression Obsession which is for dies. Check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com

I used both the large square shaker die and the fence die.
The stamp I used is 'Witchy Kitty' #F2339 and believe it or not I have had her colored up since this time last year and pulled her out of my stash to make up today (its not often an image stays in my stash of colored images for THAT long!!!)
I stamped her onto kraft cardstock and colored her with prismacolor pencils. I added small orange beads to the shaker.
I mailed my DD her fist college care package today - she requested coffee :) but I also sent her some treats and a box of german flashcards that I found somewhere deep in my old craft room so she should be able to use them (she is in a 4th level Spanish class and a first level German class - she plans to minor in both...)
All for today - better get on off to work....
   Have a great night!!!

Hoarders annomyous recovery post

 Hallo,
My road to 'Hoarder' recovery is begun - I am listing a bunch of punches and some rubber stamps on the Etsy shop today and over the next couple days. I will probably....ok, so not probably - lets just say never - totally recover, I will always be a  craft hoarder, but I am managing to let go of a few things that I know I will not likely use again. :)
The second picture is Smitty my hoarder therapy cat - helping me to stay calm while I photograph my punches for the Etsy shop :) LOL
Both the cats and the puppy have been very active in my therapy - at my side constantly while I move things from room to room and sort and organize - encouraging me and inspecting my work every step(and often underfoot) of the way :)
All for now - I am planning on working on my new craft room more tomorrow and hope to be able to sit and actually create something in my new space sometime tomorrow - after all the release week challenges over at Flourishes has started and there is a new Impression Obsession challenge too, and House Mouse...and My Favorite Things.....and.....not to mention I have a craft fair coming up in October that I want to get a few things done for.....and a wedding box for a neighbor gal to do, and a baby box for one of DH's nephews.....
All for tonight - I started another locker hook rug the other day so I am going to head for the couch and get to stitching.

OK I confess

Hallo,
OK I confess I am a craft hoarder!!! There I said it... :)
I really didn't believe it till I started this project but I now realize its true :)!!
Well the first picture is of my DD's room (off to college - now its mine :). She left 2 9-cubes which I will use and the black and gray shelves there are going in the closet.
(and the blue lady there, I just found her at my favorite thrift store for only 10 dollars, can you believe it - she is made of hard foam not cloth but that just means I will be altering her in the future - if I ever get my room done!!!)
The next 3 pictures are of my current craft space which is the dining room - it has an entrance from the hallway which is the first 2 pictures. I have a very narrow path to get to my table between my purple file cabinet and the turning CD rack that holds UM stamp sets.  The 4th picture shows the other entrance to the 'dining room' which is completely blocked and as you can see - stuff is stacked about 3 feet high.
Remember I did confess my addiction - that makes me a 'recovering hoarder' right? - be gentle :)
On the other hand I KNOW I am not the only craftaholic out there :)
I did not take pics of my bedroom walk-in closet that could not be walked into because I had tubs of alterables  stacked....or the 4 square feet of my bedroom floor space that was also stacked with tubs and projects already done and either on my Etsy shop or waiting for the next craft fair.
The last 3 pictures start with a view of my current craft space and how you can now see the floor up to about 4 feet into the room (and I can now walk into my walk-in closet and have a big clear space on the floor in my bedroom too.
The next photo shows my new craft room(in progress) from the door looking into the back left corner - 9-cubes, file cabinet and book shelf - and the last photo shows a view of the closet (and yes it is stacked floor to almost the ceiling .
It has taken me a lot longer to get this room switched over than I thought it would but then again I am organizing as I go which does take a bit longer (trying to put things in a sensible order and group like items together ect) And yes in case you are wondering - I have purged quite a bit of stuff - about 1/3 of the purge pile  is going to the thrift shop to consign, a third is going to the daycare that my kids used to go to as they make good use of craft items and books and of the last third some is getting thrown away and  there is a small pile that I am still deciding what to do with.....
Ah well - I have had a break now so I guess I will get pack to my craft rooms and do a bit more work before super.....
I am hoping to get done this week in time to do a few craft projects but will have to see how much I get done first......
