Sweet Pea Stampers - texture challenge
Hallo,
Time for another Sweet Pea Stampers challenge - this time the challenge is 'Lots of texture'
I used Rebecca Sinz's 'Jahyel' from Sweet Pea Stamps and colored it with copics.
I layered her to a Spellbinders die cut and the base layer both of which I ran through a texture folder. the red and black layer is coordinations paper and the black sanded off to revel the red.
I used some paper roses and red pearl drops for accents and the base cardstock is a dark red.
Make sure to check out the Sweet Pea Stampers blog for all the inspiration from the other Design Team members - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/
I need to get off the computer and get my suitcase packed - we are going back home to Nebraska for Thanksgiving - can't wait to give my DD a big old hug (even if she does roll her eyes at me :). It will be nice to be around all the family for Thanksgiving too!!!!
Have a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Baby Girraffe
Hallo,
I am pre-posting for you today - workin again ya know.....
I did this box and memory book for my DH's nephew who has a new baby. I was told their baby room theme was giraffe's but didn't know the colors so went with something to match the giraffe theme.
I only had 2 stamps with a giraffe and this one was the one I chose as the other one was too big. It is an old stamp from the Stamp Pad.
The other image I used is one of my favorites from Flourishes.
All stamps colored with my copics.
I started with an old cigar box and a 5 by 7 inch chipboard book and covered both with matching papers, decorated with ribbons and the stamped images.
I didn't get as much done today as I had wanted but at least I got this box done to take home with us for Thanksgiving - since I am a bit late getting it to them anyhow....
Have a great weekend!!!

Chilly day
Hallo,
I am trying to get myself in gear here this am but its chilly outside and I am sooo not motivated......I am sure puppy will convince me to get out for my walk here shortly ......
Meanwhile a quick card share this am - this is an older retired image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I colored her with copics.
She is cut out with and layered to a Spellbinders die, along with some gold mesh ribbon and a green ribbon. I edged all the layers with a gold metallic pen and added pearl drops in gold (Viva Décor) and red (Tulip fabric paint).
I have a long list of things to do today - I have to finish off a baby gift box and book to take home with us for Thanksgiving, and a wedding box if I can manage it for a small open house/crafty event on Friday.....start packing for our trip home because I work tonight and tomorrow night and then will be staying up all day Friday......
Ok I guess its time to let puppy drag me out for a walk.....the cold air might help wake me up....

StampTV CSS Thankful blog hop
Hallo,
Welcome to another Gina K Designs CSS Alumni blog hop. If you are following along the hop the you came to me from the very talented Vicki - http://allidoisstamp.blogspot.com/2013/11/stamp-tv-css-hop-thankful.html
Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, November 26.
I was into the fall colors today and found this great red DP in my stash and added some leaves from the 'Fall Foliage' set embossed in gold. I used a phrase from 'Poster Board Sentiments' and the 'thanks' is from an older set 'Kindred greetings for her'.
I layered some leaves done in gold and black embossing powder over the sentiment and under is a mesh ribbon and a thin one of matching colors.
I am sorry this is so short today - trying to get things organized as we are going to be out of town next week and I have to work the next couple nights....
Now I will send you on to the fabulous Miesje - http://miesdf.blogspot.com/2013/11/css-thankful-blog-hop-11-19-2013.html
Have a great week!!!!

Surfer Snow Dudes
Hallo,
A beautiful morning this morning - back up to mid 50's and sunny - ahhh....puppy got us out for a walk and then I thought about doing yard work but that didn't go very far :) I got as far as getting my new glass yard ornaments up - pictures of the second one at the bottom of this post. They were very fun to make and not very expensive either....the superglue was the most costly thing...
Todays card is for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for 'Holiday card/tags or gifts' Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
I used IO's 'Surfer Snow Dudes' #F2406 and colored them up with copics - I am slowly getting a nice pile of Christmas cards done :)
All for now - going to head off to the craft room for a bit . My big decision today will be to watch the Huskers play a big game today or get my pre-work nap so that at 3 am I don't need to bang my head against a wall to stay awake :)....
Have a great weekend!!!

Christmas Doves
Hallo,
Well I managed to get this card done in time for the challenge deadline. I wanted to do the doves in the release challenge colors from Flourishes - teal blues and brown. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I colored the dove image (all stamps from Flourishes) with copics - coloring one dove brown and one with light blue and a grayish teal. The holly leaves I did with greens and dark teal with the berries in the same teals as the light dove.
I cut several layers with Spellbinders dies - the main image then the next layer in a dark blue teal from shimmery paper. The next layer is a green hued dark teal that is shimmery too and lastly the base layer is a shimmery navy blue.
I accented the card with a gold mesh ribbon and a ribbon made of bluish teal sequined ribbon, some teal rhinestones and some gold pearl drops in the corners. I also edged all the layers in gold metallic pen.
This card turned out even better than I had envisioned :) and another Christmas card added to the pile too :)

Flourishes release challenge
Hallo,
Another Flourishes card for you today - and adding to my Christmas card pile while I am at it (still have a bunch to do - gotta get busy!!)
I did this card for the release challenge over at Flourishes which was a photo for inspiration. The photo had a lot of blues, teals and brown and some coffee/tea cups and I just went with the colors, as they are some of my favorite colors to use anyhow.
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All stamps are from Flourishes and I colored the main image with copics. It was a quick card to do - cut out the main image and next layer with Spellbinders dies and matching DP and some light teal rhinestones and all done :).
I have hopes of getting another card done for this challenge as I have an idea that is begging to be done but will see how the time holds out here :)
Al for now - back to the craft room - cold outside still, not as cold as yesterday but kinda damp and rainy which always makes it feel just as cold - especially with a bit of wind to add to it....

Flourishes sketch challenge
Hallo,
A day for crafting and cleaning - although I didn't get all that much cleaning done (dishes, floors, laundry,DS ran the vacuume for me) but I did get a lot of cards done :)
I did this card for the current Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes - and its release week so you could win all the stamps in the latest release just by playing along!!! Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used a Flourishes set called 'Dahlias' and colored them with prismacolor pencils. I had a hard time choosing which sketch to use so you might see the other sketch yet too :)
COLD here in NW Florida here today - 31 degrees when I headed out for my walk - puppy insisted.....took me an hour of house cleaning just to warm up again :)
All for now - back to the craft room....

New yard ornament
Hallo,
Well I made myself a new yard ornament this week - I saw a similar idea on the internet somewhere and then a recent local craft fair saw it again - almost bought one at the craft fair but decided to try and make it instead - after all I had all the stuff here. I had the huge blue bottle already on my bottle tree in front (3 of them in fact - I have another one of these in works :) and the pretty glass plate, vase, candle holder and teacup I have gotten all of them at the local thrift shop for only a dollar or at most 2 a piece so that along with some super glue and it was easy and not very expensive either...
I just love how it turned out and can't wait to get my next one done :)!!!
If you ever decide to do one - it will need a strong support like a strong bar - its a bit heavy
The last pictures are of my red maple in the back yard - this is the first time in several years that the leaves actually turned red - last several years they just turned brown, maybe because it had been so dry...this year was definatly not a dry year!!! It is a real treat for me to have the red leaves - we get so little fall color here in NW Florida....
All for now - got some craft room time to get to :)

StampTV CSS color challenge hop
Hallo,
Welcome to another Gina K CSS alumni blog hop!! This time we are doing a color challenge - and I have to admit that I was almost shut out on this one :) it truly was a challenge but I think I may have squeaked by :)
The challenge colors are - dark chocolate,' tomato soup', 'honey mustard' and ;in the navy' - with ivory as a neutral.
You may have come to me from Miesje - http://miesdf.blogspot.com/2013/11/css-color-challenge-blog-hop-11-12-2013.html
And I am sure she had an easier time with this challenge than me - can't wait till I see what everyone else on the hop did - I will probably be slapping my head and saying why didn't I think of that :)
I decided finally to do a Christmas card since I am way behind getting a bunch done, and then just had to decide how to combine the colors....the navy threw me off the most, I don't often do navy with red unless its a patriotic card....
So I colored the poinsettias from Melanies' "A year of borders" and that is the only spot that the 'honey mustard' and 'dark chocolate' come into play - except a bit on the DP in the first one.....
I colored the poinsettias with prismacolor pencils - ended up doing one in blue and one in red....then couldn't find a die cut I that would work for me...so I just cut them out by hand and layered them to a fancy Spellbinders die cut.
I stamped the Merry Christmas - from 'Seasonal Sayings' and added some bling and tiny Christmas bows I found whilst rummaging through my stash and I am as done as can be for this challenge :)
The red cardstock in the last of my current Gina K designs pure luxury cardstock - I have been hoarding the red - tomato soup red :)
I do believe that I am last on the hop list this time so I hope you had a good time - join us and see what you can come up with !!!
Off to work I go - Have a great night!!!!
