Back to baby boxes

 Hallo,
Finished off this baby gift box, memory book and card yesterday - just in time as my great-nephew Ryker was born yesterday afternoon (just in time to take in his first Husker game!!!)
I haven't done one of these for awhile and I have 2 more in the works, and a wedding one to do too.
Bust day today so far - went for a walk with the pups and then took the big kayak out just the Hubby and I - a bit cooler here the last couple mornings but it ramps up pretty quick.
It was a great morning to be out on the water, not much for waves in our part of the bay and we had a nice breeze that we used for our return trip.
I also made a quick trip to the studio to get another layer on a couple cold wax pieces that I am doing and now back at home and headed into the craft room.
All for now - Take Care

Baby Girraffe

Hallo,
I am pre-posting for you today - workin again ya know.....
I did this box and memory book for my DH's nephew who has a new baby. I was told their baby room theme was giraffe's but didn't know the colors so went with something to match the giraffe theme.
I only had 2 stamps with a giraffe and this one was the one I chose as the other one was too big. It is an old stamp from the Stamp Pad.
The other image I used is one of my favorites from Flourishes.
All stamps colored with my copics.
I started with an old cigar box and a 5 by 7 inch chipboard book and covered both with matching papers, decorated with ribbons and  the stamped images.
I didn't get as much done today as I had wanted but at least I got this box done to take home with us for Thanksgiving - since I am a bit late getting it to them anyhow....
  Have  a great weekend!!!

Dragonfly Baby Box

Hallo,
Hot and very muggy here today - duh, like summer in Florida :)
We got out for a walk this am but took it slow - even puppy didn't seem to want to run every step of the way but then she had good long walks the last 2 days too and it was muggier than usual this morning too.
And yes  we have had a couple rain showers here today - I could probably count the number of days it has NOT rained this summer on one hand....fixin to rain again but that will work out fine as I need to get my pre-night shift nap in and I love to take a nap when its raining outside!!!
Todays project is another box with memory book - baby boy style.
This was an  cigar box and it was a bit of a challenge as the corners and side are all rounded but it turned out cute. I used papers from the same package and covered the outside as well as the inside.
The 6 by 6 inch chipboard book was done with the same papers also - plus a few extra.
The main image is from My Favorite Things and colored with prismacolor pencils. The one paper on the side had a bit of a coral reddish color in it so that is how I colored the Mom's shirt and even found some cardstock to match for the frame too.
The book has 8 pages and I also include a card for gifting.
This box will be up on my Etsy shop soon after this post is finished :)
All for today - a bit of typing yet to do before naptime :)
   Have a great weekend!!!!!

Blue Booties

 Hallo,
Saturday evening and on da blog :)
I spent a good part of the day unloading all my craft stuff and putting it all back in my closet, taking photos of the ornaments and this baby box.
  I finished this thursday afternoon.
I love doing these gift boxes. This is a wood box that I covered with DP and made the memory book and a card to match.
The stamps are sll from Flourishes and colored with prismacolor pencils.
The memory book is a 6 by 6 chipboard book.
Sorry to make this so short but I am headed in to wrap a couple Christmas presents and get a package or 2 ready to send....and then start working on the rest of my Christmas cards.
Both the kiddos have the crude - fevers, coughing - yuk....DH had the tummy crude last week, I had a brief bout with the tummy crude too but fortunatly only 2 days worth....so the kids are curled up with tissues and blankets and I am headed for the craft room.
  Have a great weekend!!!

I'm here....

Hallo,
Decided to post this quick before I head to work....
I did this a week or so ago and it is also up on my Etsy shop.
This is another one of my baby sets with a memory book and gift box. I did this one up in fresh bright pinks!!!!
I covered the box and book with scrapbook papers and decorated with stamps from My Favorite Things and Gina K.
The main image is colored with copics.
The strips of white onsies are from a sheet of clear scrapbook paper that I found - I have cut off enough to decorate the box, book and a card....
In addition to the memory book is a gift card, baby style and a packet of onsies from the same papers to use to help decorate the pages along with baby photos.

Ok - off to work for the night....

Precious Baby

Hallo,
Just a quick little post today - trying to wake up a bit....worked last night and need to try and get some stuff done today so got up early.
I finished this gift box and memory book up last week - its up on the Etsy shop now.
The box is a cigar box that I covered with DP and the memory book is a chipboard book covered with the same DP's.
The set also includes some little onsies and buttons cut from the same DP's to decorate the pages with once the photos are in place, and a gift card.
The stamp on in the main image is from My Favorite Things - paper pieced and colored with copics. I just LOVE that stamp - it is soooo sweet!!!!
The button die is also from MFT.
Other dies include Spellbinders and Tim Holtz tattered flowers, and the letters are Cuttlebug.

All for today - off for a walk and some yard work!!!! The weather is AWSOME today!!!!!

Onesie Mania

Hallo,
Here's a couple shots of the baby book I made to fit inside the altered cigar box from yesterdays post.
I have had this little chipboard book for unknown amount of time.....so it was time to put it to use.
I altered it with the same papers as the box and stamps from Gina K's 'Wee Tee's' set.
The last 2 pics are of the bunch of onesies that I went a bit crazy on. I started out to just make a few onesies for whoever ends up with this set to add to their pages and ended up making about 2 dozen!!! I used up almost every scrap of paper left from the book and the box. It was fun!!!!

All for now - have a good weekend and I will see ya on Monday!!

I'm here - girly style

Hallo,
Welcome to MONDAY!!!!! I accually like mondays because I am usually off on mondays - not that work didn't call and try to talk me into working today....but I had a few errands to do and the craft room was calling.
Another baby book for you today - using the Tim Holtz chipboard book and papers from the same pad as the boy one - only the more girly colors.
Definatly not traditional pastel pinks but more pinky orangeish, maroonish, and brown. I like how it looks but I plan to make another one with more traditional pinks too.

This book is for another coworker who is expecting a Granddaughter in the next couple months. I plan to show her this one and the one I plan to do in more traditional colors and let her pick.
The little onesie and phrase are both from Gina K's 'Wee Tee's ' set. I made up a bunch of different onsies like I did with the boy box but being a girly book you can fancy them up a little so I will show you those soon - I sure had fun making them - like playing paper dolls!!!!!
On this little onsie I added a neckline of ribbon (I also used this tiny ribbon on the feet of the box - which I will show you tomorrow) and I added some other old ribbon, old buttons and paper flowers too.....
Well I had better be off to start dinner - didn't get as much done around the house today as I would have liked but did manage a long walk and some 'hard' time on torture machine (aka the eliptical...) and got a few errands done - so maybe the house will get some attention tomorrow........
Take Care

Baby book

Hallo,
A few quick pics of my baby gift project that I have been working on yesterday and today.
This is a chipboard book from Tim Holtz that I covered with coordinating papers and stamps from Gina K.
Some of these papers have been in my stash for a long time and some are new from my trip last week....
I have had the stamps from Gina K for awhile - 'Wee Tee's' and 'Sporty Tees'.
I only decorated the front and left the pages on the inside with only the decorative papers - but then I stamped up about 15 different onesies with different phrases and pictures from the Wee Tees set and put them in a little plastic sack. That way my coworker can coordinate the onesie with the picture.

Here's a couple shots of the other inside pages and a shot of the extra onesies (and some extra die cuts and extra sports equipment).
I had a busy day - nice cool weather again this am so I took another long walk and got alot of yard work done - alas no housework done but I am sure this cooler weather won't last much longer so.....
After school I had to run a couple errands for school supplies and then spent about 2 hours at parent night at the HS - introducing all the sports coaches, teams, teachers ect. and then a quick run around the school meeting my DD's individual teachers.... Thank goodness for the crock pot :)
All for tonight - more yard work planned for the am, a mandatory meeting at work, laundry, groceries ect., ect., ect.,
Take Care
