Sweet Pea Christmas Ornaments

 Hallo,
   A quick post today so I can get another hour or so in the craft room before my pre-work nap :)
  I colored up a few of this image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Little Shepard' from Aurora Wings with copic markers.
  Then I cut it out with a circle die and backed the image with some glitter paper. I had to roll it up to get it inside the ornament which is round in width but flattened so its only about an inch and 1/2 thick. I added some small clear beads and that was it.
  I think they turned out really cute!!!
  I have some more in the works with other SPS images and another type of ornament that I am going to try tracing the image onto and coloring with pencils - we will see how it turns out :)
  Okay dokay - off to the craft room I go :)

Wedding Charms

Hallo,
  Well its going to be a long day - just got off work and am planning on staying up at least until this afternoon....first I am going to run and get my new glasses, then I have an instructor orientation for a class I am teaching evevry friday for the next couple months - Coloring for cardmakers - with the local volunteer organization Center for Lifelong Learning. Next I am going up to the HS to order my kiddos ROTC photos.....then I will get a bit of sleep(course by that time I might just sleep on through the night....)
   I have been doing a few of these wedding charms/Christmas ornaments - once I did the first one I wanted to try a few others.
  The stamp is from Flourishes and I embossed it onto the glass ornament with silver, gold and vintage photo distress powder.
   I used a piece of lace that used to be a curtain (found at a thrift store for only a buck for 2 of them). I glued the lace to the back with chrystal laquer because it dries nice and clear.
  I edged the edges with gold or silver mettalic pen and finished the hanger off with a bow and a ribbon. In the case of the gold and vintage photo ones I used the trim from the bottom of the curtain for the bows and with the silver one a beaded trim from my stash.
    I have a few more ornaments in the works - not sure if they will be wedding ones or what but I took pieces of the lace and died them with glimmer mist before I glued them to the ornament.
  Not sure how much crafting time I will have this weekend - tomorrow I am getting a tooth pulled so we will see how much of a wimp I am with that - At worst I hope for some comfy couch time reading a good book!!!
  All for now - good keep moving if I am going to stay awake this am and puppy is ready for her walk(well she was ready when I walked in the door... :)

Wedding ornament or charm

Hallo,
  Just a bit of blog time to unwind from a very busy night at work - anyone know where I can get a pair of turbo charged rollar skates? :) yup just a teeny bit busy....
   Well this is another of my projects from saturday with a wedding theme - I was thinking for a couples first Christmas but it would be cute as a wedding decoration or charm too.
  I used the flat glass ornament again - this time I started out by taking a piece of lace and glueing it to the back with chrystal laquer. The lace is from an old curtain that I found at a thrift shop for only a buck :).
  On the front I used a stamp from Flourishes and embossed it in black. I edged the ornament with a gold mettalic pen and used a gold ribbon for the hanger.
  It was hard to get a good picture of this one but it turned out so prretty and looks great with some light behind it!!!
  The thrid picture is of the back so you can see the lace better.
  I am entering this in the current tuesday challenge over at Flourishes - which is to pick a tuesday challenge from last year and do it again so I used FTTC #200 which is of course to make an ornamnet or something 3D. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/

Silver Nativity and heartbroken

  A short post for you today - trying to get back in the habit after the holidays....

    I did this ornamnet for the current tuesday challenge over at Flourishes - we were to pick one of last years challenges and do it again. I chose to make another ornament - I had planned to have a bunch of these done BEFORE Christmas but ran out of time. It was FTTC #200. Check out the challenge here -  www.flourishes.org/blog/

  I found these flat glass ornamnets at A.C. Moore and stamped/embossed this beautiful nativity image from Flourishes onto it. I edged the edges with a silver mettalic pen. It will look so cool with the Christmas tree lights behind it!!!

   The last picture was another of the glass ornaments dected out Valentines style and was going to be my entry for this months first release challenge over at Flourishes - that is until I dropped it - hence the 'broken' part.....
I guess I will try again on Monday - I work tonight and tomorrow night......

Sparkle, and more sparkle

Hallo,
  Another night of work behind me, and 3 nights off ahead of me!!! :)
A quick walk with my puppy,  a note here and a nap will be the plan for the morning and early afternoon. My teens are off school starting today - one is in house with one of his buddies staying over to play xbox and DD is over at a friends till this afternoon. Then I am going to torture them into some house cleaning and maybe some yard work :) (although it is pretty chilly here this am...)
  I have for you today another of the rhinestone ornaments - the base of which is a rubber stamp from Outlines, embellished with rhinestones.  
    I stamped and embossed in silver on a white shimmery paper and glued 2 back to back.
    I then glued rhinestones to both sides with chrystal laquer. I added a vintage earring to the center of one side and a larger rhinestone to the other.
  I then used a beaded piece as a hanger.
  It sparkles very nice in the sun or the lights of the tree!!!
   All for this morning....sleepy.....

Glitz and Sparkle

 Hallo,
     Well I have had a busy morning so far and when I am done posting my decision will be if to stay busy or not.....I am feeling like a nap would be REALLY sweet - and I do have to work tonight so need a nap sometime - but on the other hand the house could use a bit of cleaning (more than a bit....sigh)
     I was out the door early with Kyna puppy/personal trainer and we went for a long walk in the woods(bout an hours worth) which she just LOVES (she gave me such a look when we got back to the car, like "why are we stopping now?).
     Then I took pictures of a few ornaments I made - including this one - and boxed 2 of them up with the last of my Christmas packages to mail and made a quick trip to the post office, then the grocery store and then the BX (military mall type store/s)
  I finished off Christmas for DH and the kiddos - need to wrap those yet though...
  Well I guess I will at least wrap the Christmas gifts I got today before a nap.
  On to todays project - I have had this idea in my head ever since I saw this post by Karla  at Karla's Cottage which was back in november but you might want to take some time to look around as she has eye candy like you would not believe!!! Matter of fact - I may have to try some stocking for my kiddos from one of her recent posts!!!!
  I have a dozen or so doilys around here somewhere but when I went diggin in my stash, all I found was 2 so I guess I make have to make a safari later this week to find the rest.
  This doily is about 4 inch round and I used one of the ornaments topper stamps (from Outlines) that I have been decorating bulbs with lately and glued it to the doily along with some strands from old necklaces that were broken (gagrage sale finds) and in the center I put a clasp from an old necklace that had some rhinestones on it.
  The ornament toppers was stamped and embossed in silver onto a sparkly white paper and then cut out. This would normally be the second layer of the topper as I cut off the edges  and then glued on all the rhinestones (the stamp has spots on it just made for that).
  I mailed this one off this am to a friend of mine - It was my favorite of the 2 I did (show you that one in a couple days)
  The current challenge over at Flourishes is to make a 3D ornament and this works perfectly . I have an idea for one done with a Flourishes stamp that I hope to finish on friday but will enter this one just in case I don't get it done :) (kids are out of school so who knows....)

I used the Heirloom Ornaments set and made up a few Christmas ornaments. I stamped and embossed the ornament twice in each color and glued them together with a ribbon for hanging inbetween the layers. Then I added rhinestones to the blue and purple ones and Viva decor pen in bronze to the vintage distress one. I may have to do a few more of these as they were really quick and cute!!!

Ornament Mania

 Hallo,
   Well I have been absent from my blog but keeping very busy!!!
   I worked Thanksgiving so we had our family turkey dinner on Sunday that weekend, this last week I had several doctor/dentist appointments (I broke a crown, not fixable so it will have to be pulled - set for Jan. then I finally broke down and went to see a specialist for my tummy issues - IBS - as I thought but Doc had some hints for me and a couple new things to try abd a procedure to rule out da bad stuff - Also set for jan...)
  And inbetween all that was trying to get a bunch of Christmas ornaments done for my last craft fair which was today. All my stuff is still in the car - was too tired to unload it tonight :)
  The topper for these ornaments starts with a rubber stamp from Outlines embossed in gold or silver and cut out mostly by hand. The middle circle is done with a Spellbinders die that is the perfect size.
Next I take rhinestone chrystals and some chrystal laquer and glue all the rhinestones into the spotson the cardstock.
  I used beaded trims for the dangling beads - cut them apart, put a dot of chrystal laquer on each to hold the string in place and then glued them onto the 6 points of the topper..
  For the bulbs I sprayed each with 2 layers of acrylic spray and 2 layers of glitter spray - adds a bit of sparkle and it also helps to make them a bit less breakable :)
  As you can see I had a lot of fun with different color combos - in all I have done about 3 dozen so far - I have another 3 dozen bulbs waiting and I am determined to get them all finished before putting them back in storage.....after I get my Christmas cards finished......
   Well I sold a few today, a few will be sent to family, a couiple for my tree and then I will put a bunch up on my Etsy site this weekend....

Mitten Ornament

Hallo,
A short post before I head off to bed this am. I sat in my craft room while my 'boys' watched the Husker football game saturday evening - I got a kick out of listening to the comentary from the 'peanut factory'....LOL boys and their football, although I would have rather the Huskers pulled out a win over Oklahoma too!!!
I did this ornament for one of the release challenges over at Stamp TV - 'to make a gift'. I love making Christmas ornaments but am a bit behind the power curve this year. I may not get enough made to send the family this year....
The snowflake ornament topper is a Spellbinders die - accually 2 of the snowflake dies as I used a smaller one to cut out the middle. I cut it from a blue BG paper.
The charms and the mittens on the inside of the ornament are both stamps from Gina K - I stamped them with blue ink onto shrink paper, cut them out, punched holes in the bigger ones and then shrunk them.
After I assembled the ornament - I added some stickles glitter to the paper snowflake and left it to dry over night.
All for today - sleep and back to work.....
