Steampunk Valentine's

 Hallo,
    Just a short one today as it is about time to get some dinner on the table....
   I had this image colored up for awhile now and decided it needed to be a Valentine's Day card.
   The image is a digital from Rick St.Dennis and it is colored onto 'cryogen white' paper with prismacolor pencils.
  All the paper in this card is from Paper Temptress - the cryogen white is one I use for almost all my coloring, whether pencil or markers.
The red layer is from the 'incandescent line' and is called 'russo' and the base cardstock is another of my very favorites from the 'mica metallic line' - gold. It is very sparkly, smooth and has a really nice weight.
  I added a few little clay roses that I did from a mold.

Wedding gift box

 Hallo,
    Enjoying a holiday Monday off, loves the long weekends. Course we didn't do too much this weekend due to Nate raining and blowing on us Saturday night and all day Sunday but other than a ton of leaves and sticks in the pool no damage here. We didn't even loose power although some in our area did.(we just happen to be on the same power grid as the county sheriffs department - handy dontchsay :)
   Showing you a wedding box I finished off yesterday for a friend from work who got married last weekend.
   The paper I used for the digital image - from 'A day for daisies' is my old favorite, 'cryogen white'. Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
   The base cardstock for the card, memory book cover and the top of the box is called 'silver luster' and is from Paper Temptress , as is the cryogen white. I also used a piece of vellum from Paper Temptress with a really nice shimmer to it, but I cannot remember the name of it.
  I added some clay roses that I made using a mold and some ribbons and rhinestones, 2 rings with doves on them and a charm that says 'To love and cherish' on it.
   The box is an old cigar box and it is big enough to hold both the book and the card.
   All for today - gotta a few errands to run and maybe do some cleaning around the house.

Mermaids rest

Hallo,
  Well after a good walk with my pups now for a bit of breakfast and some blogging time before I start slowly putting my house back together....a few windows yet to get put in today but am starting to put things back in the rooms they are done with.
  Showing you a project I finished off yesterday in my studio (I still love being able to say that :)
  I started with a prepared 8 by 10 cradled board - about 6/7 layers of plain wax.
  Then I added blues, whites and yellows for my ocean scene - tried for kinda a sunset sorta thing - didn't really turn out like I wanted in that direction but still liked it.
   Next I did the photo transfer of the ship (actually did it twice because I added some more wax on top of the first and didn't like it so added more wax and then did it again...)
  I had this mermaid sitting on the table that I colored up about a week or so ago with intentions of using her on this piece. She is a digital image from Selina French and I colored her with polychrome pencils and cut her out.
  I heated the wax below where I wanted her and embedded her into the wax and then added a couple layers of clear wax on top and then did just a bit of playing with some blue and white to make waves at the bottom of her tail and near the rock.
  I just love how she turned out - and my friend Helen Harris decided she liked it enough to buy it from me too :) My first sale at the gallery :)
