Wedding box

 Hallo,
I have a wedding gift box to show you this am - I have done 2 baby boxes and one other wedding box in the last month but didn't get pics before I gifted them...…
I used a premade wood box from JoAnn's and decorated it with pretty paper and ribbon and some seashells.
The image is from "A Day for Daisies' colored by me with polychrome pencils.
I used a 6 by 6 inch chipboard book for the memory book and also made a card to match.
All for today - should have a couple art pieces to show you in the next couple days....

Baby Boy gift box set

 Hallo,
A quick post this evening as I am winding down for the night. I finished off this baby box set for a coworker today.
I covered a wooden box from JoAnn's in pretty papers - boy style and did the memory book and card to match.
I have one more box in the works and then I may have to take a break and get my Christmas cards done, and tomorrow I will show you the last of my Halloween projects.

The weather here in NW Florida has been absolutely AWESOME!!!!!
I love the cool weather!!
I pulled weeds today for about 2 hours and only have a little bit to go to get my flowers beds all caught up on the weeding from my lack of weeding over the summer.
Its been a bit of a challenge to do yard work as I am back to using a cane - I am getting my left knee replaced in January and it has been pestering me a lot lately(If I use the cane I don't limp as much, and if I can keep from limping my hip and back don't ache as much.....) And to top it off I jammed the big toe on my right foot yesterday and it is pretty swollen and bruised. And Yes Klutz is my middle name.....

Another baby gift set...

Hallo,
Back with another baby gift set - box, memory book and card that I made for a coworker.
I used an image I found on Etsy from 'pattiescreations' and colored it with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
I don't do black skin tones very often so its not perfect but I liked how it turned out!.
I have 2 more baby boxes in the works - both boy themed so should see them soon. Also will have a day in the studio on Saturday and hope to accomplish something there too.

I am really enjoying the cooler weather here in NW Florida - hope it stays around awhile!!!
All for now - as the saying goes, I didn't win the lottery so back to work I go....

Its...another baby box...boy style

Hallo,
Giving you a break from Halloween cards for today. Another of the many baby gift box sets I have been making lately. A lot of babies coming in my little corner of the world lately.
The image is from 'A Day for Daisies' printed onto cryogen white cardstock and colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
I  decorate a box - old cigar box, plain wood or sturdy cardboard from the craft store  - whatever I can find big enough, and then make a matching card and memory book for inside.
   All for today. Take Care

Baby box - girly pink

 Hallo,
Well maybe I am getting back in the swing of things...this is the first of 5 total baby boxes that I want to make for friends and coworkers with new babies on the way. I made this one for my daughter to give to a friend of hers.
The digital image is from 'A Day for Daisies' and is colored on cryogen white cardstock. I used both prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
The first 2 pics are of the box and the top of the box and the last pic shows the inside of the box with the matching memory book and card.
All for today - have to head off to work soon and I am so glad it is Friday, even if it is a busy weekend!!!

Deep sea treasures

 Hallo,
This altered cigar box is a joint project between my craft room and my studio art space.
This cigar box had an indention on the lid that I wanted to do some type of painting in so I first painted the box black and then the top I coated with white gesso(except the edges which I did black).
Next I used alcohol inks and made a seascape in blue, turquoise and purple. Then I started gluing on seashells into the corner.
I used resin and covered the  alcohol ink and part way up the shells - and used a brush to seal the tops of the seashells with resin also.
On the inside of the box lid I glued a digital image from Selina Fenech that I had colored with polychrome pencils. and then lined the bottom and the edges of the image with different shades of blue/blue green and turquoise rhinestones.
I really like how it turned out.
I have a couple more wooden boxes that I got at A.C. Moore that I am going to do something similar with also - but I am thinking encaustic instead of alcohol inks for the next one.

Copper Pearl

Hallo,
Another card for you today, using the same image from yesterdays by Julia Burgess. I often end up doing 2 of each image because when I print I like to use the whole sheet and usually print 2.
Again I used cryogen white cardstock and polychrome pencils to color her with.
She is layered to some pretty cardstock and the base cardstock is from Paper temptress's metallic line - a pretty, shimmery copper.
I also used a gold metallic pen to edge the image panel and some pearl drops with viva décor pens for the corners.

Pink Pearl

 Hallo,
A short post this afternoon as I need to get outta this chair and do my knee exercises.....
I finished off  2 cars today and this is the first one. She is a digital image from Julia Burgess called 'Pearl' and I colored her with polychrome pencils.
I printed her onto 'cryogen white' cardstock from Paper Temptress. The cryogen white is my favorite cardstock for coloring - either pencil or copics - because it is so smooth and both blend very well on this cardstock.
I layered her onto 'Lagoon' cardstock also from Paper Temptress's metallic line. It is a lovely turquoise color and wonderful sparkle.
All for today - I have another one for you tomorrow. Take Care.

Wedding gift box

 Hallo,
Enjoying a holiday Monday off, loves the long weekends. Course we didn't do too much this weekend due to Nate raining and blowing on us Saturday night and all day Sunday but other than a ton of leaves and sticks in the pool no damage here. We didn't even loose power although some in our area did.(we just happen to be on the same power grid as the county sheriffs department - handy dontchsay :)
Showing you a wedding box I finished off yesterday for a friend from work who got married last weekend.
The paper I used for the digital image - from 'A day for daisies' is my old favorite, 'cryogen white'. Colored with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
The base cardstock for the card, memory book cover and the top of the box is called 'silver luster' and is from Paper Temptress , as is the cryogen white. I also used a piece of vellum from Paper Temptress with a really nice shimmer to it, but I cannot remember the name of it.
I added some clay roses that I made using a mold and some ribbons and rhinestones, 2 rings with doves on them and a charm that says 'To love and cherish' on it.
The box is an old cigar box and it is big enough to hold both the book and the card.
All for today - gotta a few errands to run and maybe do some cleaning around the house.

Baby box gift box

 Hallo,
An afternoon chillin at home - watching football, watching Irma, and being crafty. I finished off this cute baby box that I made for a coworker and am working on some clay roses(from a mold) for another coworkers wedding box which is my next project.
I used a stamp from 'Flourishes' - stamped onto cryogen white of course and colored with polychrome pencils.
I used a wooden cigar box and a chipboard book and covered them with matching scrapbook papers and edged the edges with a metallic gold pen. I decorated with some little baby shoes, feet and a teddy bear and a cute baby ribbon.

So far Irma isn't going to trouble us much here in NW Florida -  40/50 mph winds and a bit of rain - unless she moves more west over night we should be in the clear.
I guess that means I have to go to work tomorrow....

Pretty in pink

 Hallo,
It is so beautiful and cool out this morning, have all the windows and doors open to the fresh air and Lovin it!!! Too bad I couldn't get myself out of bed in time to take the pups for a walk.....I have been working the 11 am to 7 pm shift this week and getting up every day at 6 to walk the pups and run a ton of errands - normal stuff plus a bit of hurricane prepare. Then last night I didn't get off till about 945 pm and I guess I was a bit tired. With any kind of luck the cool weather will hang out a day or two!!!
Irma seems to have turned away from us here in NW Florida panhandle - lets hope she keeps going east  and doesn't decide to curve back into the gulf!!! And hopefully weakens a lot more before south Florida has to deal with her full force!!!!
Well I have another baby box to show you - with memory book and card. This one is for a co-worker who is due in a couple weeks. Her colors for baby stuff are pin and gold.  I used a cigar box for the box and a chipboard blank book for the memory book. All the images are done on cryogen white paper from Paper Temptress and colored with polychrome pencils. The base pink card stock on the card is also from Paper Temptress - not sure of the name - will have to look that one up.
All the other scrapbook/patterned paper was from deep in my stash of pretty papers.....(ahem/hoarder/denial....)
All for today - gotta head off to work here soon.
       Take Care!!!!

Fairy Princess

 Hallo,
A quick morning post as the hubby and I are headed for Biloxi for the night to see Pat Benatar in concert!!!! She always puts on a great show!!! (my DS will be home for the weekend to keep the pups company :)
I finished this picture earlier this week. I started with this beautiful digital image from Selina Fenech which I colored with polychrome pencils onto 'cryogen white ' cardstock.(from Paper Temptress)
I cut her out using a die but leaving her wings and the lily pad outside the edges. I layered her to 'silver ore glimmer cardstock' and then to an over lay called 'silver bohemian by Hambley' and more of the silver ore glimmer behind that - all are from Paper Temptress.
I used a bunch of flowers for accents - the 2 smallest ones I left white and one down in the bottom right corner was already a pretty blue - the rest were white to start with and I sprayed them with turquoise glimmer mist . I added her crown from my stash with a rhinestone at the top added to match her wings and a couple flat backed faux pearls for good measure!!!
She was mounted onto a canvas board and framed - 11 by 14 inches.
All for now - gotta get a move on this am...

Windblown

Hallo,
Working today but since I had something done to show you, I will pre-post....
I got this card done yesterday. I colored this sweet image from 'A Day for Daisies' with polychrome pencils onto 'cryogen white cardstock (as usual).
The cryogen white as well as the base cardstock for this card - silver luster cardstock - can be found on Paper Temptress and they are 2 of my very favorite cardstocks.
The silver luster makes wonderful wedding and anniversary cards as well as adding an elegant touch to any card.
I added silver corner stickers, and some plastic clear flowers with a pearl and paper flower on top. Then I added a couple smaller flowers with a rhinestone and pearl center (sshhh - one of the little flowers covers a pencil smear)
Lastly I added some liquid pearl drops with a viva décor pearl pen - onto her wings and in the centers of the flowers in her hair - and a couple on her cheek.....
All for today - I hope to have another encaustic piece to show you this weekend.

Fairy Valentine

Hallo,
Well I have managed to clean house, run some errands, edit some pictures and take a nap today..... Oh I so wanted to sleep longer , but I guess if I did I would not have slept tonight.....
This card was meant for my Hubby for Valentines day but I didn't get it done in time.....
The image is by Selina  Fenech from her grayscale coloring book and I colored it with polychrome pencils.
The cardstock is all from Paper Temptress - cryogen white of course for the image and then red columns for the base cardstock. The 2 corner pieces are made from clay and then a matching pretty gray ribbon with some faux pearls.
All for now but another post in a few minutes....

Pretty Fairy

 Hallo,
I really had fun with this card!!! My 2 favorite colors are purple and teal and that's what I used here.
This sweet fairy digi is by Janice Cullens (Scrappers Delight) and colored onto cryogen white with prismacolor and polychrome pencils. I then fussy cut her out and layered her onto 'violet' from the Mica metallic line over at Paper Temptress.
For the corners I used an overlay from PT for one (off the black vintage frames sheet) and rhinestones on the other corners.

The shimmery purple paper is just gorgeous!!!
Well I got a bit of cleaning done monday and stopped on my way home from work to get a few groceries yesterday and did dishes,  got everything prepared to go in the crock pot this am and got laundry put away....
Too hot out there for a walk last  evening - pups wanted  to go but even they would be ready to get back inside within a few blocks.
Our AC has been acting up - the compressor is shot but it still manages to keep things reasonable so far - the hubby has the AC guys getting us an estimate on cost and when they could replace it so lets hope our old one lasts long enough!!!!
All for me today - working a bit late today to make up for taking off a bit early next week for a doctors appointment.....
