The stamp is from Flourishes and is colored with copics. I cut them out with Spellbinders dies, and the layer under too. I made the flowers with ribbons and some brads for the centers. I found some cool drawer pulls for the 'feet' and the inside is lined with felt and a lace doily. I am using this for last tuesdays Timeless Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes! Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/ I managed a bit of craft time this weekend - and some yard work, and some shopping with my DD - so will have a couple things to show you this week. All for now - Take Care I have been dinking with this post for over an hour now and cannot seem to get it to hold the paragraphs again.... one last try but I apolagize if there are no paragraphs - makes it realy hard to read..... I AM BACK!!!!

Hallo,

I am finally back!!!! I got my new laptop thursday - I even drove to Pensacola to get it instead of waiting for it to ship to a Best Buy closer to me in Destin (its only an hour drive..) After 3 weeks of dinking around with my old laptop and not being able to be online as much, if at all, it is soooo nice to be back!!!

It has been a busy week - my nights to work at the begining of the week were very busy.....

Wednesday I slept about 2 hours and got up to take my DS to get his Learners Permit to drive....then got groceries and took another 2 hour nap....

Thursday I did a few things around the house and then headed to Pensacola to get my laptop - did a bit of shopping at the mall while I was there (because I almost never go to the mall and it was right by the Best Buy..) In the evening I went to a school function with my DD - she was inducted into the Honor Society !!! :) and then I managed to do a bit of playing on the new laptop.

Today was split between a rather iritating couple hours at the car dealer getting some things fixed and loading my computer - virus protection, photoshop, camera......but I did manage to get some pictures edited to show you today!!!!!

Well after all that if you are still with me.... I have an altered cigar box to show you today. I made one of these filled with cards for my MIL's birthday present, this one should be up on the etsy site tomorrow evening and I have one more to show you later that is going to be a gift for my Mom for Mother's day (shhhh - don't tell).

The first 2 pics show the top of the box. I covered the top, sides and inside the lip with DP. On top of the box - the main image is from FLourishes rubber stamps - masked, stamped and colored with copics.

I cut the main image and some layers under with Spellbinders dies. I edged the main panel with a gold mettalic pen.

The yellow panel is a piece of DP, crumbled, swiped with distress ink, and then stamped with a crackles stamp and embossed with white.

The flowers were done with ribbon - a variation of a Technique Junkie technique. The ribbon was snipped at 1/2 inch intervals and (using double sided tape) stuck down in a circle from outside to in - with a yellow brad in the middle. The bigger one used one long piece of ribbon and the second used 3 short scraps.

The 'feet' on the box are old drawer pulls that I found at a thrift shop for only 30 cents each. I drilled holes in the bottom of the box and used short screws to hold them(and a bit of glue for good measure).

The inside bottom of the box was lined first with a piece of felt and then with an old lace doilly - also found at a thrift shop - I really love how that turned out!!!!

I took alot of pictures this time eh!!! :)

The last picture shows the cards I will include inside the box when it goes up on the etsy shop - most I have already shown you....all stamps from Flourishes and colored with either copics or prismacolor pencils.

Well chatty as I am this afternoon, I had better get some dinner started and ready to go to work tonight.....DS has a buddy staying over tonight and they are going with a few friends to paintball tomorrow.

I have several projects to finish over the weekend so I will see you on Monday.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Take Care Tera

P.S. I hope the paragraphs are not all run together in this - blogger has been anti-paragraph for me lately.....

Simple Christmas

  • Hallo,

  • Blogging this am from DH's computer....I think we have finally decided my old computer is dead(or at least on its last legs and not worth messin with anymore).

  • This is the last of my saved photos/posts so you may not see much of me this week. I worked last night and work tonight and tomorrow night, wednesday I plan to get up early and take DS to get his learners permit.....he turned 15 yesterday!!!

  • I am hopeful that I can get a new computer on thursday and maybe be back up and running sometime that evening or friday.....will have to learn to navigate the new computer, load my camera and the photoshop......

I had a fun day with the DH yesterday - I went with him on the motorcycle for a charity ride/poker run. I hadn't ridden the bike in a looonnng time now. I used to love motorcycles but over the years as an ICU Nurse I have seen enough that they make me a bit nervous these days....but I had a fun time. The weather wasn't too hot - I managed to get sunburned even with the cloudy skys..... The kids didn't miss us much - DS had slept over at a friends friday night and then went along with DD to play ball in the afternoon.

  1. These 2 cards are made with stamps from Flourishes. I wasn't totally happy with how they turned out - I wanted the gold to show more. I will have to try and emboss them next time instead of gold ink..... I used embossing folders under them.

  2. All for today - hope to see you later in the week.....

  3. Take Care

Tera

I don't know what it is with blogger lately - it will not do paragraphs for me...tried several things and if it doesn't work this time I will just leave it alone - makes it hard to read, sorry about that!!!

Mean ol computer - grumpy me....

Hallo, Just a short note from my grumpy self - my computer got hacked, took it in to get dehacked, was told my files were still there, got said computer back and within a day was hacked again (funny how the router that someone said they would take care of encrypting, was not encrypted....(DH) ) took computer back to get dehacked, again reassured that my files were still there....got computer back...could not access internet and could not find my files....third time back to the computer repair place....fixed internet - again - (supposedly) then did a big huge data recovery program and didn't find any of my files (the family photos were 90 % backed up.....the rest of the photos are blog and craft stuff - regrettable but survivable....) Soooo - my computer was supposed to be ready by 1pm and was not....and when I finally got my computer home the internet will still not come up and ALL my stuff won't work - palm pad, photoshop, none of it......I don't feel like trying to reload the photoshop tonight...especially when I am not sure what is going on with my computer.....if its the mother board gone bad it might just be better to get a new laptop..... So I am going to sit here and try not to pout anymore....not getting me anywhere....pop into some of my fav blogs and maybe head for the craft room later.... Take Care and Have a Great Weekend!!!! I hope to see you next week...... Tera

Oriental Fairy

Hallo, A quick post before I am off to bed for the day.... Have I mentioned lately that I love to color and love my Sweet Pea Stamps.....think I might have .... This beauty was colored with copics and spica glitter pen. I paper pieced her dress with the same DP as the background and then colored and shaded a bit on the paper piecing..... I cut her out with a Spellbinders labels die and edged the panel with gold mettalic pen, and then layered her to 2 different DP's. I embellished with some fancy pearl swirls (pearl swirls is kinda fun to say.....uh oh, me thinks I need some sleep.....) I am entering her for the current challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' which is for a spring card. Check it out here - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ I have hopes of getting my laptop back today, they are trying to recover my files ....got rid of the hijacker, now to find the files that the jerk messed up when he(or she) took over my computer. I have a boatload of craft and blog files that I would like to have back but the important ones is the last 2 years worth of family photos. I had the ones before that backed up...... All for today - hope to be back tomorrow afternoon with my laptop back in full working order (cross your fingers for me!!!). Off to sleep, then off to work..... Take Care Tera

Red, Red Rose....

Hallo,

Well another monday and another month.....I am hoping to get my laptop back today but have a couple projects to finish today, errands to run and I have to work tonight, soooo... I thought I would get a short post up for you early today.

I got in some great crafting time yesterday - DH took his 'other woman' out for a ride (the Harley...) and the kiddos were at a birthday party all afternoon.

I got 2 cigar boxes done - I will show you those as soon as I can. I am being really lazy - I really don't want to load the photoshop to the DH's computer..... I really hope I get my laptop back today!!!!!

Both these cards uses a rose stamp from Flourishes colored with prismacolor pencils. One the first one I left the background mostly white with a shadow of gray and the second one I shaded in the background with a light yellow.

I used the same basic design, DP, ribbon and rhinestones on both so the only other difference in the 2 cards is that I did one vertical and turned the other horizontal.

Well my pooch is sitting not so patiently at the patio window begging for a walk so its time for me to get a move on.....

Take Care

Tera

P.S. blogger keeps running all my paragraphs together again - 4th try to fix that so if it doesn't work this time .....I don't have a clue what else to try......

Hyacinth

Hallo, Busy day today - running errands, a bit of craft time and now need to grab a nap before working tonight. 2 cards to show you today, both are done with one of my newer sets from Flourishes. Both card are pretty much the same except I colored the flowers a bit different. With the first ard I colored the flowers with blues and the second card I went with more purple colors. I really need to try a pink one.... I cut the main panels out with a Spellbinders Labels die and edged it with a gold mettalic pen. The main panel was then layered to a pieced of DP and onto a white card base and embellished with old trim and some gold stickers from my stash.... The phrase is also from Flourishes and is one of my very favorite 'gift' from Mother Teresa. I read a book about her awhile back and she really was a most down to earth person!!!(In addition to being one of the most 'saint-hood worthy' that the world has seen!!!) I colored these both with copics. All for today. Take care Tera
