Dragonfly Dreams
A quick post today with another cyanotype and encaustic painting, I started with a cyanotype and colored portions with pastels. I glued the print to a cradled wood panel and added encaustic and more pan pastels in layers with the encaustic.
On the left side I built up some interesting texture and added some silver foil.
The dragonfly is one of my photos that I printed out onto tissue paper and added the blue/turquoise/purple with a fine tipped hot pen.
I was pretty please with how this one came out!!! Course I love dragonflies!!!!

Firefly Garden
I had forgotten to post this one because she went to a show right after I finished her.
This is a 15 by 22 cyanotype on watercolor paper that I mounted to a cradled wood panel. I then added encaustic medium and colored it with pan pastels in several layers.
Lastly I added gold 'fireflies' with encaustic paint.
She is framed in a black float frame.

Coral red and turquoise basket
I found and old silver bowl at a thrift store, shined it up and used it as a base for a sweet little basket. I stands about 5 inches tall and 8.5 inches round at the top.
I used 1/4 inch coil from Dick Blick art store and some hemp twine I found at Joanns, beads are also from Joanns.
This one took me about 2 weeks total.

Leaf basket
I typically keep my hands busy when relaxing on the couch watching TV at night. This basket took me the better parts of a month and a half.
I used a clay basket start that I got on Etsy which is really convenient because it has the holes for thread when starting the basket. And it was really pretty all by itself.
I used a 1/4 inch coil that I got from Dick Blick art store and hemp twine from Hemptique.

Botanical Blues I and II
Time to do some catching up - I made these 2 little 8 by 8 inch paintings from 2 double exposure cyanotypes I did back in October.
Mounted them onto a wood panel and added encaustic.
They make sweet little paintings!
One down 4 o5 to go...
