Believe

Hallo,
Short note today - managed to get a few errands done today, as well as get some house cleaning done (with the help of my kiddos!!! :)(maybe I won't be so happy to have them go back to school....)
I did get a little time in the craft room - so I pulled out the other sheet of Faux Designer Paper I did last week and covered another cigar box.
All stamps are from Cornish Heriatge Farms and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com.
I used stamps from the 'Ornamental Beauty' set and the phrase is from a frames set also from CHF.

The chipboard hinges and frame are from Tom Holtz and sprayed with coffee glimmer mist - I also sprayed the little spools with the same glimmer mist.
The inside is covered with more paper on the top of the lid and a red patterned red felt.
I work today but may get time to play this weekend as I am off!!!

Bright Bird

Hallo,
Another orangey card for ya today - I put this together right after the from card from last friday so that explains the rarely (for me) used orange showing up again so soon.
This image is from Inkadinkado and is another one that I colored while on vacation back home in NE earlier this month. Finally got around to putting a card together with it.
The main image is colored with copics, and cut out with my nesties/cuttlebug.
All for today - trying to get some projects going in the craft room - and trying to find time to upload some new stuff to my Etsy shop....

Hometown journal

Hallo,
One more project with the green sheet of Faux Designer Paper from last week (by the way - I did make some copies of the origional so I would have more to play with :)
Again - all the stamps are form Cornish Heritage Farms - loads of my craft budget goes straight to CHF - LOL - they have such a HUGE number of cool stamps - you do NEED to check them out - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
The base paper was done with stamps from the 'Ornamental Beauty' and 'Keys' sets - the tag also adds one from 'Mother's Day Centers' and the main image is from the Thomas Kinkade line 'Hometown Pride'.
The TK was colored with copics and then I covered it with a layer of sepia accents. I added a silk flower that I origionally chose for the matching cigar box but I love how luck would have it - it brings out the sunset colors I used on the TK and the windows.

All for today - working but may have some time to play tomorrow.

Hallo,
Well here is my first project with the green Faux Designer Paper from last week.
It will also be my entry for the last week of challenges over at Cornish Heritage Farms - this weeks challenge is 'one sheet wonder'.
All stamps are from CHF - the phrase is from 'Motivation Centers', a key from the keys set, and the rest are from the 'Ornamental Beauty' set.
You can find all their stamps here - http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/

This is a cigar box that I covered with the paper I made. The inks are distress inks and some staz-on.
I added a chipboard key (Tim Holtz)
colored with glimmer mist, a keyhole (also Tim Holtz), a silk flower, a decorative brad, a stamped tag, ribbon, and corners cut with my cuttlebug.

The inside bottom of the box is covered with patterned felt and the inside top with more of the FDP.
All for today - have some errands to run and maybe finish up the back to school shopping that the kiddos and I started last thursday.
Looks like tomorrow I am taking the kiddos and a couple friends to the local waterpark.....

Frog Prince

Hallo,
Just a quick card today - I didn't get much stamping done yesterday. I did manage to get a little done with the green sheet of Faux Designer Paper from 2 days ago but I can't show you until monday...:)
I colored this frog while I was on vacation back home in Nebraska. This stamp is way old - the writing has worn off so I don't know who makes it.
I colored him with copics and was feeling a little 'out of the box' with colors today - the oranges are not ones I use very often but I have had this DP for a long time.
All for today - I work again this weekend so we will see you on Monday.

Pirate of the Plains

Hallo,

Finished off my Pirate today - colored the backround with prismacolor pencils, sponged the sky with inks.

All the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms except for the sailing ship - that one is a partial of one I have had for over 10 years and don't know who makes it....

I used 2 Scene It sets from CHF - 'Homestead' and 'By the Seashore' and 2 other sigle stamps from CHF - the Pirate boy and the wheat stamp.
You can find them all here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com

I had origionally stamped the vellum with colored inks but decided to try white instead and liked it alot better!!!! (makes it MORE make-believeish I think).

The hard part was attatching the vellum without it showing!!! (hence the gold krylon for trim...)

All for today gotta think about something to go with the ribs in the crock pot for dinner.....

Prairie Pirate?

Hallo,
Short note today - didn't get much for stamping finished but showing you what I got started.
This weeks challenge at CHF - Cornish Heritage Farms is to "Make a Scene"
All stamps are from CHF and can be found here - http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/
I started with the pirate boy - stamped him and then masked him.
Over him I stamped several stamps from 'Homestead' and 'By the seashore' and the wheat stamp. I colored him with copics.
I plan to color the wheat also with copics and exgtend the tree so he's not floating in mid-air and then color the rest with my prismacolor pencils (for a softer/not so prominent look).

I also plan to do an overlay with vellum with more stamps from 'By the Seashore ' and an old sailing boat.
I got this idea because when we were kids I remember playing pirate by climbing the trees at home and looking out over corn fields (grew up in nebraska - but I don't have any corn stamps so this 'scene' became Kansas instead with the wheat).
My stamp time was limited today by yard work, and errands, the kiddos helped me with house work so this afternoon we went to see the newest 'Harry Potter' movie!!!!!
More tomorrow

Fiery Dragonfly

Hallo,
More playing with glimmer mist and resist technique today.
All the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms - 'Fiery Floral' scrapblock and a phrase from 'Friend Centers' and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
I used a bunch of glimmer mist - the first layers were done with - patina, sea foam, juniper and golden terracotta. Then I stamped the scrapblock and embossed with clear powder. The top layer of glimmer mist is 'coffee shop' .
All the glimmer layers are spellbinders cut with my cuttlebug. The vellum layer was syamped with black memento and then torn.
I have been using my CHF stamps alot lately as they are in the middle of 5 weeeks of challenges - this weeks you may have guessed is for resist technique. All for now gotta get running - planning on a little craft time later today - if I can get errands done.
Take Care - Have a great weekend (I work all weekend)

Fiery Resist

Hallo,
Quick prepost for you today - back to work after my vacation!!!!
Another card using clear embossing powder as a resist - this was for the challenges going on over at Cornish Heritage Farms.
All stamps used are from Cornish Heritage Farms and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
I started by stamping the 'victorian leaves ' backrounder with current adarondak ink. Then I stamped and embossed the 'fiery floral' scrapblock with clear embossing powder.
Next I sponged current ink all around the embossed image. It was a little bright for what I wanted so I sponged some weathered wood distress ink over the current and I really liked how that looked. The Serenity Prayer is stamped/embossed with white onto vellum and torm to fir the card. Other embellishments include some old ribbon and a hat pin with a pearl tip (way cheep from 'Ben Franklins'~!!!!). Also added some gold krylon to the edges and layered onto black cardstock - and a couple black rhinestones too.

All for today -- Take Care

Pastoral Mom

Hallo,
I am preposting most of this week - may have some photos from home later in the week.....(Nebraska that is...)
This is one of the 2 paper pieced projects that I am debating between for submission to the challenges at CHF this week - I will show you the other tomorrow.
Also this is the last in my 'Pastoral Woman' series.
This is done on a piece of mattboard for framing. Her dress is paper pieced and then her hands/apples are pieced on top of the dress. I shaded on the dress some with a light gray copic marker. The rest of the main image is colored with prismacolor pencils.

The main image is layered to purple cardstock, then to a piece of old ribbon (from my garage sale stash), then onto a layer of the same DP that I pieced the dress from, and finally to the mattboard.
Both the main image and the phrase are from Cornish Heriatge Farms and you can find it here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
All for now - Take Care
