Grateful Eiffel

Hallo,
Note to self - shopping at the craft store with the kids isn't such a bad thing......as I went to A.C.Moore this am after dropping DD off at Drivers Ed and had plenty of time to look around (unlike when the kids are with me complaining that I am taking too long). Needless to say more ended in my shopping cart than I really needed but as I got to looking for one little thing - I had this great idea but needed more acrylic paint and some more sandpaper, and of course the birdhouse(s) that my idea was about......
Anyhow - since I am hoping to start stage one of this big project (in my defense its for Christmas presents!!!!) - I need to tell you about this card and get to work - then stage one can dry while I take a pre-night shift nap.....
This card uses the same sheet of 'Faux Designer Paper as the Eiffel ATC's from a couple days ago - only I made a card with the same theme.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up but all other stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms.


The brads started out a pewter color but I used some copper rub on so it would match better.
I had better get a move on....

Eiffel ATC's

Hallo,
I hadn't made ATC's in quite awhile so when this weeks featured line of stamps over at CHF was their All Things Considered line (ATC) I decided to do up some ATC's. I only have one stamp set from that line and that is what I used here. 'Haute Conture'
I used a TJ technique called Faux Designer Paper for the base and then stamped more images on top. The Eiffel tower was embossed with antique photo distress embossing powder.

Briefcase Project

Hallo,
Well today is my 3rd 12 hour shift in a row and I am TIRED - glad its my last (at least for a couple days ) - I used to be able to do a bunch of these 12 hr. shifts in a row but not lately - does that mean I am getting old?
Any way I decided to show you pics of a briefcase that I am recovering. It was found at a thrift store and its in really good shape - except for scratches on the out side which I don't care about. This is a thicker briefcase - about 3 inches but as you can see in the photos - lots of room for files and such.
I started with the sheet of Faux Designer Paper that I made and made a bunch of copies.... Then I cut them up into random pieces - mostly triangles, and edged them with red distress ink.
The last pic for today is the beginings of my decoupage work to cover the briefcase. Once I have it covered I will seal with with acrylic sealer and then decorate it furthor - probably sealing it again after I decorate. I have plans for a sketchbook to match .

Designer Kimono

Hallo,
Not working today but have a ton of stuff to get rolling today. Yard work, hair appointment, eye appointment, housework - and hopefully some time at the craft table.
Tomorrow a few of the gals and I are going over to Fairhope Alabama to their Arts and Craft Fair for the day. Its always alot of fun - lots of great stuff!!!
This card is similar to yesterdays with the backround and then I stamped the kimono on the Faux Designer Paper and cut it out, and popped it up. I did shade the folds a bit with a gray copic but it is hard to see.

Masterpiece CPS

Hallo,
Just a short note - should try to do some yard work this am but it is seriously TOO HOT!!!! I am soooo ready for fall - I think I will hybernate in the house today again and maybe sneak out to the pool for just a bit.

Hallo,
Short note today - managed to get a few errands done today, as well as get some house cleaning done (with the help of my kiddos!!! :)(maybe I won't be so happy to have them go back to school....)
I did get a little time in the craft room - so I pulled out the other sheet of Faux Designer Paper I did last week and covered another cigar box.
All stamps are from Cornish Heriatge Farms and you can find them here - www.cornishheritagefarms.com.
I used stamps from the 'Ornamental Beauty' set and the phrase is from a frames set also from CHF.



The chipboard hinges and frame are from Tom Holtz and sprayed with coffee glimmer mist - I also sprayed the little spools with the same glimmer mist.
The inside is covered with more paper on the top of the lid and a red patterned red felt.
I work today but may get time to play this weekend as I am off!!!

Hometown journal

Hallo,
One more project with the green sheet of Faux Designer Paper from last week (by the way - I did make some copies of the origional so I would have more to play with :)
Again - all the stamps are form Cornish Heritage Farms - loads of my craft budget goes straight to CHF - LOL - they have such a HUGE number of cool stamps - you do NEED to check them out - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
The base paper was done with stamps from the 'Ornamental Beauty' and 'Keys' sets - the tag also adds one from 'Mother's Day Centers' and the main image is from the Thomas Kinkade line 'Hometown Pride'.
The TK was colored with copics and then I covered it with a layer of sepia accents. I added a silk flower that I origionally chose for the matching cigar box but I love how luck would have it - it brings out the sunset colors I used on the TK and the windows.


All for today - working but may have some time to play tomorrow.

Friendship gift box cards

Hallo,
Am preposting for a coiuple days as the kids wanted to go to the waterpark today and the I work tomorrow.
These are some cards I made to match and go inside the cigar box from yesterday. The cards are blank on the inside and the saying on the front is from Cornish Heritage Farms - 'Friendship Cernters'.

Masterpiece gift box

Hallo,
Well here is my first project with the green Faux Designer Paper from last week.
It will also be my entry for the last week of challenges over at Cornish Heritage Farms - this weeks challenge is 'one sheet wonder'.
All stamps are from CHF - the phrase is from 'Motivation Centers', a key from the keys set, and the rest are from the 'Ornamental Beauty' set.

This is a cigar box that I covered with the paper I made. The inks are distress inks and some staz-on.
I added a chipboard key (Tim Holtz)
colored with glimmer mist, a keyhole (also Tim Holtz), a silk flower, a decorative brad, a stamped tag, ribbon, and corners cut with my cuttlebug.



The inside bottom of the box is covered with patterned felt and the inside top with more of the FDP.
All for today - have some errands to run and maybe finish up the back to school shopping that the kiddos and I started last thursday.
Looks like tomorrow I am taking the kiddos and a couple friends to the local waterpark.....

Faux DP - another purple

Faux DP - Yellow sheet

Hallo,
I spent some time cutting up my sheets of Faux Designer Paper today and here's what I came up with for the yellow sheet (although the it looks greener in these first 2 pics).
I found the year calender with the plastic covers in the bargain spot at target - I covered the insides with the DP that I added some stamping to, and then stamped on the covers too (makes it look like its covered with a thick vellum) .
Both the stamps I added were from Gina K - the flower from 'Botanical Dreams' and the friendship phrase is from another set (can't remember which right now).
I filled in the flower petals with white gel pen.
I stamped on the plastic cover using staz on timber brown with the same flourish from Inkadinado that I used on the FDP.

Lastly I added some trim from my stash of garage/estate sale finds.

This last photo is another calender I did - same as the other but with a different trim. This trim was also beige but I sprayed it with walnut ink spray and then with a layer of gold glimmer mist - it took up the colors nicely.

All for today - Going to prepost for the next couple days - spending the next 2 days at a Nursing conference and then I work on wednesday...
