Christmas Village

Hallo,
  Just popping in a bit to show you another project made with the Thomas Kinkade stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and the last of the cool tin tile look picture frames that I found at a thrift store (maybe I will get lucky and find some more sometime)
  I did this one in brighter reds and golds - the corners are Tim Holtz corners that I colored with a gold mettalic pen. I added gold viva decor pearl drops, gold sticker corners on the main image and a gold sparkly ribbon.
  I stamped the main image with a red/burgondy ink and matched up some cardstock and DP for behind it.
  Added some flowers that had a pinkish tone to them and a small section of beaded trim. The Merry Christmas embossed with red also.
  I really had fun with this one.
  All for now - need to get a bunch of my craft stuff put away - I had a craft fair at a local grade school today which was a total bust!! We hardly had anyone even come look and I sat there from 7 am till 230 pm and didn't sell a thing - and it was outside and damp, breezy and cold - I am still trying to thaw out.......ahhh well that it the way it goes sometimes....
   Dinner to get going and a ton of errands to do tomorrow so better finish up here....

Vintage Village

Hallo,
  Happy Veteran's Day!!!
My DH served 23 years, his Dad was a Korean War Vet as well as several of his Uncles (WWII and Korea). My Dad was in the military for a few years and I have several cousins, nieces,nephews and friends that are currently serving in the military. THANK-YOU all!!!
  My project for today started with this cool picture frame I found at a thrift store - it looks like one of the old metal ceiling tiles.
  I decided to use it for the current challenge over at the CHF blog - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
  The challenge this time was to use one of our Thomas Kinkade stamps. I love to color and LOVE my Kinkades but decided to not color this time. I stamped it with brown memento ink and cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and edged the panel with copper metallic ink.
  I added some metal corners in an aged copper color (Tim Holtz corners) and embossed the phrase in copper too. I also used a bronze viva decor pen for some accents on the inner corners, on the main image and for the 'pearls' in the center of the flower accents. The viva decor bronze is a real close match to the aged copper color of the metal corners.
  The DP behind the main image is a burgundy red with a slight copper glimmer to it - really pretty.
  I really had a good time with this one. I have another frame just like this one that I did Christmas style too but will show that another time :)
   All for tonight - I went to A.C. Moore today and JoAnn's yesterday and got some frames either on sale or with a coupon so now I need to put together some of the encaustic pieces that I did in class and get them ready to show you all (and for the Etsy shop - todays project will be up on my Etsy shop shortly  too :)

Cabin Christmas Wreath

 Hallo,
   Well an early start to the day for me - as DS has a swim meet today and had to be to the school very early to catch the bus....DD needs the car today as she is taking the ACT again today - she has great scores but the Air Force Academy Recruiter told her that if she could add even just one more point it would bump her into the top third of candidates....
  Showing you another of the wreaths that I have been working on the last couple days. I hope to finish off the red/green ones today and start on a steampunk version.
  The letters are from Flourishes - colored with copics (I just love these letters and have used them a ton lately on all my wreaths) and the scene is from Cornish Heritage Farms - Thomas Kinkade line - colored with prismacolor pencils.
  I am entering this is the latest challenge over at Flourishes - the '5 senses' challenge - all the lovely color for the eyes, texture for touch with the twig wreath and all the cardstock leaves were 'textured' with embossing folders. And lastly the imagioned smell of fresh crisp snow in the winter scene.

Glitter twilight

 Hallo,
   I managed a bit of craft time today - I had origionally planned this image for the last challenge over at CHF which was circles but I didn't get ti done in time, so I did it up this the current challenge which is to make a shaped card.

I used one of my Thomas Kinkade images and colored it with copics.
After I cut it out with a Spellbinders die I ran it through my xyron to add adhesive to the front and then added some clear glitter (from MS) - I had edged the edges with a silver mettalic pen before that too.....
   I then cut out the base cardstock with another Spellbinders die, edged it with silver metallic pen and added a silver mess ribbon and some silver pearl drops with a tulip fabric pen.
  I am now up to about 25 Christmas cards made - which is good but I send out a TON of cards - so I do have quite a few to go!!!
   All for today - need to try and get back to the craft room as it is overflowing with projects waiting to be done and I have a craft fair coming in under a month!!! Too bad I have to work....I could get so much done in the craft room!!!!

Welcome Home

Hallo,
  I am going to pre-post for this am in hopes of sleeping late :) - DS wants me to go with him to the Bass Pro shop so he can buy a himself a compound bow (he's not 18 yet :) - it will give me a good excuse to pop into Micheals which is almost next door.....I think DH will be out  riding on the Harley today (I go with sometimes but somehow the wind on my face today is not going to work - the puffiness in my face has mostly gone away but....nah I think not).
   I did this card for the current challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms which is for a 'birthday card or tag' - Now I know at first glance this doesn't look like a birthday card but it is for a friend of a friend who is coming home this week from being deployed and its also his birthday so it does say Happy Birthday also - just on the inside (and I rarely take pics of the inside of the card so I forgot this time too.) Cornish Heritage Farms has started releaseing the Thomas Kinkade images and this is one of them just release (I had it already from old CHF) it is colored with copics - one of the first ones I have tried with the copics as I usually like the softer look with the pencils.
   I tried for a more masculine look with the wood grain background - I don't know how well the masculine part turned out as this woodgrain DP had a lace edge and flowers on it but I like how it turned out.

Country Lighthouse

Hallo,
I am preposting today as the DH is going to take my laptop to a friend who knows alot about computers today - see if we can figure out why my wireless isn't working and why it keeps locking up on me.....
I did this card awhile back and was trying for a vintage look....
The main image is a Thomas Kinkade stamp, colored with prismacolor pencils and then I stamped over the top with a linnen backrounder.
I wasn't completely happy with my coloring but this was my first time coloring this image so it will get better with practice....

I layered it to some DP and gray base cardstock with a gray ribbon and silver brads.
The phrase is an old SU one - stamped in gray.
More house work today and a bit of yard work, then pop into my booth at the flea market to add some more cards to the rack that I got tagged yesterday (didn't manage time to run down yesterday...), pop into A.C.Moore as I have a 10 dollar certificate to spend :) and try to get a nap in somewhere before work .....I work most of the weekend so will see you on Monday (I have a few things saved so if I don't have my laptop back I will be able to post from da Hubsters.....).

Celebrate Christmas

Hallo,
Well this is not the card I intended to post for you today - I have an image from Mo's all ready to be made into a card but didn't get it done.....
I have a good excuse - I worked monday night and came home to sleep and checked on my old cat who hasn't been eating as much lately (and she usually loves her food) but she was sleeping and seemed ok so I went to bed. I woke up about 11 and realized she hadn't come up to sleep with me like she usually does so I went to check on her and found her in some major distress. I called the vet and ran her up thinking I was going to lose her (she is 19 and 1/2 years old). I didn't manage to get much more sleep waiting for the vet to call but about 330 they called to say that my sweet girl had a really bad stomach infection but after sonme fluids was doing better so I could take her home. She needed a bath and then got her the antibiotics and by then it was time for me to get ready for work.
Lucky for me we were a bit busy at work so I could keep moving and made it through the night. I tried to get up about 1 but with my sweet girl snuggled in by my side I didn't geet out of bed until the kids got home from school. Then I went to the gym with my DD, got some groceries on the way home and had a bit of time to check email before cooking super....
My sweet old cat is looking much better today - she is acting normal and starting to eat a bit....


Anyway - I did this card a few weeks ago....
The main image is from Cornish Heritage Farms (sniff - no longer in buiness as of now.....). It is an image from Thomas Kinkade which I stamped in dark blue onto light blue paper and just colored in a few spots - like the windows, lamppost and sled - and then added stickles glitter to snowman, some trees and parts of the roof.
The layer behind is a Tim Holtz texture folder.
All for today - sitting on the couch no thinking longingly of my bed :) - can't go to bed too early or I will be up at 2 am unable to sleep.....

Romantic Castle

Hallo,
Just stopping in to show you a card I did a couple weeks ago.
This stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms from their Thomas Kinkade line - they are selling the stamp business so if you like this stamp better pop on over and get it now - who knows if the new owners with keep all the lines of stamps that CHF currently has ....sad for me as they are one of my very favorite companies (although in all honesty my stamp budget might breath a sigh of relief :).

I colored this castle image with prismacolor pencils and edged the panel with gold mettalic pen. I layered a couple Spellbinders fancy tags underneath the main panel. The flowers were made from scraps of various TJ techniques cut with my new TH distressed flower dies. A couple flat backed pearls for accent and a purple card base. This is a 5X7 card.
Not much else to talk about this am - going to try and do some organizing in the craft room today which should be a feat!!!! Wish me luck!!

Barn Domino's

Hallo,
Quick post as I should really get some grub going for dinner....
I colored the main image sitting on the couch last night - I had planned on doing something domino style(TJ - technique) wise with it but my idea kinda grew as I went along and I ended up with this 8X10 picture. I like it even if its not quite like I envisioned.
I made the domino's with the main image and put chrystal effects on them to look glossy like real domino's - then I decided to layer them to faux metal technique - another TJ technique - to pull out the metal in the barn roof - then of course since the barn roof had some rust on it I layered them to a big piece of 'faux rusty metal' - yet another TJ technique.
Both faux metal and faux rusty metal were ran through the same cuttlebug folder.
I added a border punched with a MS punch and put it in a frame.
All for tonight - even if da kiddos aren't really hungry , DH will be when he gets home - so I 'd better get crackin'.....

Bright Fisherman

Finished Serenity

Hallo,
I know you have seen this one before - sort of....The more I looked at it as a 5X7 the more I thought it needed something more and wasn't finished....
So I found some matt board in my stash and finished it off - it is now 8X10 size and I took a picture of it in a frame just to get the idea....When I take things like this to craft fairs I take them unframed so people can frame them to match their decor...

All for today - I didn't get as much done as I wanted too - tired and lazy today and I did spend a little extra time this am sitting on the couch snuggling with my sweet old cat (she is 18 years old and in the last few days she has had several episodes where she was paralyzed on one side and couldn't walk - short lasting and she pops right back to her normal self ...but its an ominous sign I am afraid).
I work the weekend so I guess I will see you on Monday - Have great weekend. My DH and DS started laying tile in DS's bedroom today and will finish it off this weekend.
DD is still up at Grandma's they are over half done with her quilt. She is helping her cousin babysit younger siblings tonight so I probably won't talk to her tonight... :( Poor Mom....

Travel Home Journal

Hallo,

I had a little time and finished up on this journal yesterday.

I first took some DP from K&Company and stamped over it with staz on inks - I used 2 backrounders and stamps from several sets - all from Cornish Heritage Farms. The backrounders were 'Trees' and 'Victorian leaves'. I also used some stamps from the 'Beautiful', 'keys' and 'The art of framing sets.

The main image is also from Cornish Heritage Farms http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com - It is ones from Thomas Kinkade called 'Hometown Pride'. I colored it with prismacolor pencils and blended here and there with OMS. I then cut the main piece with my new Nestabilities dies called 'curved rectangles'. I edged the colored piece with brown and then a touch of gold metallic, the brown layer I used to frame the image is also edged with gold rub on.

The words on the tag come from 2 different sources - 'Journey' is from 'Another Stamp Co.' and the 'Home' is part of a phrase from Gina K.

All for tonight - am preposting as I work tomorrow(today). I work all weekend so we shall see you on Monday. I have another faux designer paper sheet in works - now no groans, eventually I will get tired of the technique and move onto something else.... :)
