Sunset hike

Hallo,
Well it rained gangbusters here last night - I love sleeping when its raining :) Cloudy this morning so we will see if we get some rain today - summer in Florida there is always a 30/40% chance of rain but this summer we have gotten more rain than we have had in about 7/8 years....
Another CHF card for you today - I looked at the new CHF site last night and this old CHF stamp is not on the new site....
I stamped the image onto some DP that had a bird on it and colored it in with prismacolor pencils, including the bird. I cut it out using a Spellbinders die and an out of the box technique and distressed the edges with memento London fog ink. The base cardstock is a grayish kraft color and I ran it through a wood grain texture folder and then highlighted it with London fog gray also. I added some silver pearl drops with a tulip fabric paint pen and that was it. I needed some guy cards and this stamp is perfect for the menfolk.
I am joining up with this weeks challenge over at the Cornish Heritage Farms blog  - the challenge is for 'summer' and I love to go hiking in the summer (course not too many hills near me these days, I still go out hiking in the woods whenever I can)Check out the challenge here - http://cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com/
All for this am - not sure what the day has in store here, the DH and I went for our morning walk and once I get a shower I will head off to the craft room for a bit.....

Map hike

 Hallo,
A hot and sunny day here but just a few miles north - rain like crazy. My DH went out on a run with the Harley and I almost went with him today and ended up glad I did not - He got rained on BIG TIME!!! Sure makes for a hard ride - poor guy!!
Well todays card is for the current challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms blog and it is for 'summer' which in most places I have lived that means summer(course here in NW Florida some of our better hiking weather is really in the winter)
Check out the challenge here - http://cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com/
I haven't pulled out my CHF stamps in awhile and I was missing them - this one is from old CHF and I am not sure if they have it up on the new site yet....
This card was really simple as I just stamped the image onto map DP and layered it to red  both layers cut with Spellbinders dies and then another layer of the same DP and added accents with a bronze Viva Décor pen.
All for today - going to jump in the pool and see if  we get thundered out or not.....still seems to be hanging up north.....
   Have  a great weekend!!!

Thank- you!!

Hallo,
Well it was a nice weekend off and tonight its back to work....I had a few errands to run today including dropping off this card to my vet and his assistant. They were so kind when I lost my sweet old meow a couple weeks ago.
This stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and I colored her to match my old meow - there is a bit more ornage on this one than my old one had in real life and this would also be her younger version as she had gotten very gray and white on the face in the last couple years.
I cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and edged it with gold. I layered the main image to a scrap of DP (right side) and a scrap of old flocked wall paper (left).
All for today - Take Care

Zebra Baby

Hallo,
Not sure if I will get time to post later so a quick one now :) I have a long list of errands to get done and hope to squeeze in some craft time too.....
I took my puppy for a short card ride and a long walk in the woods this am and she loved every minute and would have probably walked alot longer if I would have ahd time.
We walked for an hour. She is getting better in the car and I am hoping by taking her for walks in the woods via the car she will get to like the car ride better knowing she gets to explore in the woods.
I did this card to match the baby box for my DH's niece that is having a baby in a couple weeks. The theme for her baby room is Zebra's and as you might have guessed, they are expecting a little girl.
The stamp is from old Cornish Heritage Farms - haven't seen it up on the new store yet but I am sure it will be in time. I loved coloring the baby pink - made me smile.
Well better get in gear ....

Christmas Village

Hallo,
Just popping in a bit to show you another project made with the Thomas Kinkade stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and the last of the cool tin tile look picture frames that I found at a thrift store (maybe I will get lucky and find some more sometime)
I did this one in brighter reds and golds - the corners are Tim Holtz corners that I colored with a gold mettalic pen. I added gold viva decor pearl drops, gold sticker corners on the main image and a gold sparkly ribbon.
I stamped the main image with a red/burgondy ink and matched up some cardstock and DP for behind it.
Added some flowers that had a pinkish tone to them and a small section of beaded trim. The Merry Christmas embossed with red also.
I really had fun with this one.
All for now - need to get a bunch of my craft stuff put away - I had a craft fair at a local grade school today which was a total bust!! We hardly had anyone even come look and I sat there from 7 am till 230 pm and didn't sell a thing - and it was outside and damp, breezy and cold - I am still trying to thaw out.......ahhh well that it the way it goes sometimes....
Dinner to get going and a ton of errands to do tomorrow so better finish up here....

Vintage Village

Hallo,
  Happy Veteran's Day!!!
My DH served 23 years, his Dad was a Korean War Vet as well as several of his Uncles (WWII and Korea). My Dad was in the military for a few years and I have several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that are currently serving in the military. THANK-YOU all!!!
My project for today started with this cool picture frame I found at a thrift store - it looks like one of the old metal ceiling tiles.
I decided to use it for the current challenge over at the CHF blog - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
The challenge this time was to use one of our Thomas Kinkade stamps. I love to color and LOVE my Kinkades but decided to not color this time. I stamped it with brown memento ink and cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and edged the panel with copper metallic ink.
I added some metal corners in an aged copper color (Tim Holtz corners) and embossed the phrase in copper too. I also used a bronze viva decor pen for some accents on the inner corners, on the main image and for the 'pearls' in the center of the flower accents. The viva decor bronze is a real close match to the aged copper color of the metal corners.
The DP behind the main image is a burgundy red with a slight copper glimmer to it - really pretty.
I really had a good time with this one. I have another frame just like this one that I did Christmas style too but will show that another time :)
All for tonight - I went to A.C. Moore today and JoAnn's yesterday and got some frames either on sale or with a coupon so now I need to put together some of the encaustic pieces that I did in class and get them ready to show you all (and for the Etsy shop - todays project will be up on my Etsy shop shortly  too :)

Scarecrow

 Hallo,
A quick card for you today - need to get a nap in before work tonight....
I did this card for the current challenge over at the Cornish Heritage Farms blog which is for 'fall colors'. Check it out here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
I used 2 of CHF's digi's and colored them with koh-i-nor pencils. I cut out the scarecrow and layered him to a Spellbinders die and then to the next layer with the diogi background. I edged both layers with a copper mettalic pen.
Well my puppy really thinks she is 'ALL THAT' when it comes to hunting squirrles now - on our am walk she charged one and surprised it and it tried to jump straight up about 4 feet to a tree branch and didn't quite make it (got its front paws on the branch ) and the silly thing fell right on the puppys head -  the puppy got ahold of the tip of its tail as it frantically scrambled away - all puppy got was some tail fur but she thinks she is so hot now!!! I laughed so hard.....puppy was trying to climb the tree to recatch the silly squirrel...
Ok - time for a nap - Have a great weekend!!!!

Zebra Baby box

Hallo,
I have been dying to show this one off - and since my DH's niece should have gotten it yesterday or at least tomorrow (and she doesn't look at my blog I am pretty sure) I will show it to you today.
One of my DH's Nieces is having a baby and the theme for the baby room is Zebra's - so this is a gift box with a memory book inside made just for her. (I love zebra's too so this was fun - hard part was choosing which of about 6 zebra stamps to use :)
The main image is from Cornish Heritage Farms and colored with copics, layers cut with Spellbinders dies and edged with a silver metallic pen.
The Zebra butts is a stamp from Rubber Stamp Ave. - stamped repeatedly in rows and colored in rainbow colors with copics.
The mama and baby zebra running is a very old stamp from Graphistamp - and I don't think you can get it anymore except maybe Ebay. I stamp that one in long rows and colored with copics also.
I used rows of both the smaller stamps along the sides and on the top, along with some zebra paper and zebra ribbon - and the inside has zebra paper too with a bigger design.
I did the memory book cover to match the box and the inside pages are in rainbow colors with a zebra stamp on one corner of each page.
All for today - off to the craft room, now that I have warmed up from my morning walk - a brisk mid- 40 ish this am but with wind chill about mid-30's.....

CHF red and white

 Hallo,
Just a quick little post over lunch time here - trying to get a bunch of stuf done in the craft room for my craft fair this weekend. Need to make a grocery run and then the kids have a swim meet this evening that I will be going to......
The challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms this time is for 'red and white'.
I am trying really hard to do my challenges as Christmas cards as often as possible so I can get enough made before time this year!!!
This stamp is from Old Cornish Heritage Farms and I embossed it with red embossing powder onto a shimmery 'silver luster' paper from Paper Temptress and backed it with red and red DP.
I ended up doing 4 because I couldn't decide which DP I wanted to use....
Check out the challenge here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
Off for today - am off and running for groceries.....

Cabin Christmas Wreath

 Hallo,
Well an early start to the day for me - as DS has a swim meet today and had to be to the school very early to catch the bus....DD needs the car today as she is taking the ACT again today - she has great scores but the Air Force Academy Recruiter told her that if she could add even just one more point it would bump her into the top third of candidates....
Showing you another of the wreaths that I have been working on the last couple days. I hope to finish off the red/green ones today and start on a steampunk version.
The letters are from Flourishes - colored with copics (I just love these letters and have used them a ton lately on all my wreaths) and the scene is from Cornish Heritage Farms - Thomas Kinkade line - colored with prismacolor pencils.
I am entering this is the latest challenge over at Flourishes - the '5 senses' challenge - all the lovely color for the eyes, texture for touch with the twig wreath and all the cardstock leaves were 'textured' with embossing folders. And lastly the imagioned smell of fresh crisp snow in the winter scene.
Check out this and other challenges - for release week and World cardmaking day.... - here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
The steampunk one is probably something only I would get a kick out of but now that the idea is in my head I have to do it :).
Well off to the craft room for a couple hours and then I work tonight....
   Have a great weekend!!!!

Snowmen Wreath

Hallo,
Ahhh thursday evening... the kids are doing home work, the DH is out of town up at Taladega to watch the race (for the weekend) and I have been at the craft table most of the day - well after an hour walk with my rowdy puppy and making a craft supply run (I needed more wreaths...) and a bit of house cleaning....
I worked on some Christmas wreaths - 3 in purples and blues and the makings for 2 more in reds and greens and gold....
The letters are stamps  from Flourishes - colored with copics and the snowmen are digitals from Cornish Heritage Farms - also colored with copics.
The leaves were all cut with die cuts in my cuttlebug and embossed with embossing folders and then I hot glued them onto the wreath.
I am really having fun with these wreaths!!!!
All for tonight - Take Care

Glitter twilight

 Hallo,
I managed a bit of craft time today - I had origionally planned this image for the last challenge over at CHF which was circles but I didn't get ti done in time, so I did it up this the current challenge which is to make a shaped card.
Check out the current Cornish Heritage Farms challenge here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
I used one of my Thomas Kinkade images and colored it with copics.
After I cut it out with a Spellbinders die I ran it through my xyron to add adhesive to the front and then added some clear glitter (from MS) - I had edged the edges with a silver mettalic pen before that too.....
I then cut out the base cardstock with another Spellbinders die, edged it with silver metallic pen and added a silver mess ribbon and some silver pearl drops with a tulip fabric pen.
I am now up to about 25 Christmas cards made - which is good but I send out a TON of cards - so I do have quite a few to go!!!
All for today - need to try and get back to the craft room as it is overflowing with projects waiting to be done and I have a craft fair coming in under a month!!! Too bad I have to work....I could get so much done in the craft room!!!!
   Have a great week!!!

Caribou

 Hallo,
Welcome to friday afternoon - wonderful light and thunder show this morning while I was getting a short nap after work!! Needless to say - I didn't get much of a nap .....
But I did manage to get a bit of time in the craft room. I went with something pretty simple and a challenge from Cornish Heritage Farms. The challenge this time is to use and animal. I chose to use the caribou from old CHF. Check out the challenge here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com
I stamped in memento brown onto neenah desert storm and inked the edges with the memento brown and then distressed the edges.
I have been making an effort to use up scraps this year (might take me several years - LOL) - so the background DP is a scrap and so is the frame which is actually 3 pieces left over from another project. I added a piece of maroon mess ribbon  that is at least 5 years old from my stash.
I layered it all onto kraft cardstock and added some accents with a bronze viva decor pen.
All for today - off to get some groceries, now that the rain has backed off a bit.
