Hallo,
Backposting once again today - almost caught up with the right day :).
I did this card for 2 different challenges.
The first challenge is for Phindys which was to make your own embellishments. I used glitter foam and cut out snowflakes with Spellbinders dies. Check out the challenge here - http://www.phindysplacechallenge.blogspot.com/ for a ton of inspiration.
This cute Phindys image is colored with copics. I colored her with bluegreens to match this weeks challenge over at Copics Creations - www.copiccreations.wordpress.com ......durn, missed that one, thought I had another day, ahh well - I like her colored in the BG's anyway....
All for today - need to run for some groceries and then hopefully back to the craft room!!!

Steampunk Sexy
Hallo,
Well I am back posting a day or 2 today....I worked sunday through last night (tuesday) and even though I had several cards in the works, just never managed to have the energy after work to finish them until today.
I slept just a bit this am and then went and got a MUCH needed hair cut and perm (boy was my hair a mess) and now my hair looks much better!!!! singing...'I feel pretty, oh so pretty' - see what low sleep does to me :)
I finished off this little card for a challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com/
The challenge this time was for 'sexy' - wel that was easy because so many of the wonderful images at Sweet Pea Stamps are so very sweetly sexy :)
This little fairy is sitting on a 'steampunk' looking contraption so I used a gears embossing folder on silver mettalic paper for the bottom layer and then cut gears with both my Spellbinders gears dies and my Tim Holtz gears die out of gold mettalic paper.
The fairy herself is colored with copics and gold spica glitter pen.
All for today - need to round up something for super.....

Watercolor Hollyhocks
Hallo,
Not too much crafting time today but finished off another card with one of my newest stamp sets from Flourishes - yes the Hollyhocks again :). You have seen a few cards done with this one lately.
I pulled out my peerless watercolors for this one (and a couple others still in the works....). I haven't done any watercoloring in a looonnnggg time - I tend to try to be too precise so will have to relearn 'letting go' :)
I usually start with the whole piece fairly wet and wash in the background color - then come back and add it other areas of color one at a time (the paper dries a little as time goes on) and then add another layer for darker spots and finally add little details - and hopefully not overworking it too much.....
I did 4 different panels today but this one was the only one I got made into a card, so you should be seeing a bit more watercoloring this week.
I wet the edges and tore them for this one and layered it onto a texture folder used on the base cardstock and highlighted with sponged blue ink.
I made this for last weeks Birthday Bash challenge over at Flourishes - check it out here www.flourishes.org/blog/
Well I had better get myself down for a nap before work.

Lemonade Mouse
Hallo,
A hot saturday afternoon here today - I got in the pool this am because the DH added water last night and between that and some evening cooling it was so nice and cool (especially after some yard work...) I just checked the pool now, thinking of some wateraerobics but it is waaayyy to warm.....so most of the afternoon has been in my craft room :)
I finished up this card today - found this stamp in the sale bin at HL yesterday and since I didn't have any HM stamps to fit this weeks challenge it went right in my basket :)
The challenge this week at the House Mouse and Friends blog is for something 'fruity'. I thought about adding a phrase or something in the top right corner but couldn't decide what to add, and I was kinda liking the CAS look for this right now anyway.
Check out the HM blog for all kinds of Mousy inspiration - http://www.housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/.
I colored mousy with copics, added a yellow polka dot ribbon and some tiny yellow brads on top of the green striped DP.
All for today - Take Care
Stay Cool - and for all the folks on the east coast, STAY SAFE!!!

Skool Yukky
Hallo,
My second post for today :) - I have a couple challenges I hope to finish off tomorrow so thought I would show you this today :).
I did this card for the current challenge over at Mo's - www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com - for back to school.
This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil of course - I just LOVE all the pouty kids she has - they just crack me up (I sooo remember when my kids were this age but its also surprising how these little kids even resemble my kids NOW as TEENAGERS :)
I colored him with copics, cut him out and layered him onto the school writing paper, added a ruler ribbon and hand wrote 'skool is yukky'
My friend Pat and I had a good day shopping - I of course spent too much but found some really good stuff on sale soooo......
After all the craft stores we drove the backroads home and stopped at a thrift shop and an antique shop on the way back!!!
All for tonight - Take Care

FTTC Sentiments
Hallo,
Friday am and I am headed for a day of crafty shopping in Pensacola with my Chief Enabler Pat. Neither of us has had time for a run to HL and Pensacola all summer so we decided to take today.
All I need to do is run my poor old meow to the vet for a quick laser treatment - sposed to help with pain (pain pills only made her sick and hyper...)
Todays card I did for the latest FTTC challenge from Flourishes - the challenge being to showcase sentiments. Check out the challenge and the Birthday week celebrations too!!! www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used the Hollyhocks again :) - colored them with prismacolor pencils in blues and purple, and then embossed the sentiment onto vellum for over the top.
I didn't add much in the way of embellishments so as to show off the hollyhocks and sentiment more - a purple ribbon and bow, and some purple flat-backed pearls.
All for now - I am off and running!!!!

Woof
Hallo,
Another hot one in Florida but I guess I can be thank-ful that Irene is not headed our direction!!!
We had friends in VA near the D.C. area and I really feel for them - first they get a good shaking and now they are fixin' (a southern term I have adopted :) to get a blow too.
I didn't accually stamp this image this time - I used the package insert from when I got this stamp - recycle/reuse :)!!!
I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and used a very simple layout with some die cut letters for the 'woof' and some liquid 'beads in a bottle - from tulip ' for embellishment.
I did this for the current challenge over at the Outlines blog for 'four legged friends'
Check out the challenge and all the inspiration from the Design Team here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
All for today - going to try and get in the pool for a bit, now that the heat index has dropped below 100.....

Happy Birthday Flourishes
Flourishes is lighting the candles and getting ready to sing to honor their fourth Birthday!!! And, as a way to celebrate, I am happy to say I was hand-picked to help them have a bit of a party as a designer for their customer appreciation hop!!!! The only challenge here was to create a card or project using my favorite Flourishes stamp set (REALLY??? - my FAVORITE set O M G - and how am I sposed to decide that!!!!! - well more on that in a minute...)
Keep reading - I'll tell you how you can win some Flourishes goodies too!!!
If you are following along the hop then you came to me from the very talented Rosemary Dennis - http://www.heythererosigrl.blogspot.com/ (LOVE that blog title BTW - its got me singing...)
If you just popped in here and this is the first you are hearing of the hop then you WILL want to pop in over at Flourishes for the total scoop and start the hop from the top :) - www.flourishes.org/2011/08/birthday-blog-hop-day-1/
You will have until Sept. 1st at 5pm CST to enter.
On to my projects for today - well bet you are wondering how I chose my 'favorite set' - well....my newest favorite is my newest flower set from the last release 'Hollyhocks' is that close enough? :)
One of the reason I LOVE Flourishes is all the wonderful flower sets!!!! I love to color and all their flower sets are just perfect for coloring!!!
This latest set reminds me of going over to my (now) MIL's place because she always had Hollyhocks and Iris growing.
You can check out this set here - www.shop.flourishes.org/Hollyhocks_p/ss163.htm
I did this card up twice using the same colors for the flowers - the first card was done with copics and the second one was done with prismacolor pencils. The copics will give you a little sharper and brighter result and the pencils a softer look. I colored the pencil one fairly bright but it is sometimes easier to get softer lighter colors with the pencils compared to the copics (for me anyhow).
I cut the main image out of both cards with Spellbinders dies, using an out-of-the-box technique and edged them with gold mettalic pen.
Now see that last photo with all those great stamp sets - that is the prize package you could win.
To learn more pop in here - www.flourishes.org/2011/08/birthday-blog-hop-day-1.htm
Ok enough chatter from me - your next stop along the hop is Misti Oblander and I am sure she has some awesome stuff to show you too - www.misti-acardaday.blogspot.com

Candy corn gift tag
Hallo,
A quick little post for you today - worked last night and again tonight and as usual am off to bed soon as I can finish typing :).
I did this gift tag for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog for a 'hostess gift'.
My teens and their friends have a Halloween party every year - usually mostly involving scary movies, pizza and popcorn. Not sure who will be hosting this year as it is my weekend to work, so this tag will be attached to the gift for the parental unit(s) that decide to take on that crazy fun evening this year.
This stamp is from Impression Obsession and is called 'candy corn tree' #H2264. I colored it with copics and some white gel pen and then cut the main image and card base out with a Spellbinders labels die. The ribbon is the cutest thing I found after Halloween on sale last year - and have had to wait almost a whole year to use - its made of bats and is black on one side and orange on the other.
Check out the IO blog for all the challenge dets and lots more eye candy too - http://www.mitrafriant.typepad.com/

New School Year
Hallo,
Well our new school year has officially begun - and I wasn't even awake to see my teens off to their first day of school ....they both joined swim team this year so were out the door at 430 for practice before school today. Not that they would let me get first day pics or give them a hug anymore anyway, such is the nature of teens.....but my DD did make sure we were going to keep with the traditional after first day of school stop at Sonic for ice cream :) (we have been doing that first and last day of school since they were in kindergarden..... :)
Todays card is in the spirit of the first day of school - doesn't she just look like she is gossiping about all the new cute guys at school this year.....and no she doesn't look like my DD except for the hair color, no makeup and the phone is rarely at her ear as texting is the thing.....
I colored her with copics and cut her out using wonky squares from Spellbinders.
I am using this card for the current challenge over at Phindys which is for 'something new'. Check it out here - www.phindysplacechallenge.blogspot.com
The DT always has lots of great inspiration!!!
All for today - need to get in a quick nap before taking my old meow to the vet and then a trip to sonic - work tonight....

Vintage Pie
Hallo,
Well its been a great day so far - the weather was nice and cool this am (for a little while anyway) and my pooch and I got out for a walk and then I managed to get some yard work done, then groceries, lunch and to the craft room for a bit.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Phindys which is for 'Vintage'. Personally this turned out looking more 70ish to me - but then I guess 70's is rather vintage these days ( aaaakk).
I colored her with copics and layered her to some gray ribbon and a lattice square Spellbinders die cut from kraft cardstock. The cloth covered buttons come from my stash - don't they just look 70ish?
Check out the challenge and all the DT inspiration here - www.phindysplacechallenge.blogspot.com
All for me today - headed out to the pool for a bit (to do some water aerobics...) and then maybe back to the craft room for a bit.....

Pink Recipe
Hallo,
I finished off this cute little pink number this afternoon - slept for a few hours after work and then dragged my rear outta bed and to the gym.
I had colored this image up some time ago and it fit right in with this weeks FTTC challenge over at Flourishes.... pink, and the rest of the recipe includes 1 button, ribbon and lace.
I colored the fuschia stamp with copics and it was cut out with a Spellbinders die and layered onto another Spellbinders die cut from pink mettalic sparkly paper.
Check out this weeks challenge and all the inspiration from the DT too, here - www.flourishes.org/blog/

Fruity FTTC
Hallo,
Just a quick post this am - just getting off work and headed for sleep (working again tonight).
I was really pleased how this card turned out!!!
I just love to color whether it be my pencils (prismacolor, lyra and koh-i-noor) or my copics - those 2 are my main ones anyway - I also have several types of watercolor paints (regular artist watercolors-2 types accually, watercolor crayons, peerless watercolors, twinks) and I also have chalks and oil pastels too....I'm thinking 1-addiction and 2-I need to use some of the other stuff once in awhile too....
The stamps are from Flourishes and colored with pencils. I stamped the raspberries twice to make sort of a half frame and then cut it out with a Spellbinders book plate die with an out-of-the-box technique.
The phrase is from one of my newest sets from Flourishes and another stamp from that set is stamped onto the DP behind the main image - the big clock face. It is kinda hard to see though...
I sponged the edges of the die with antique linnen and memento london fog inks and then added some silver liquid pearls from 'tulip - beads in a bottle'
I am entering this card in the current Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge over at the Flourishes blog - www.flourishes.org/blog/ - which is for something 'fruity'.
All for today - sleepy time....
