Ornamental vines

Hallo,
Just a quick post this am and off to bed for me.....
The new Cornish Heritage Farms is releaseing their first rubber stamps later this week and the sneak peaks have started on the DT's blogs - start here - www.cornishheritagefarms.blogspot.com to see for yourself. It looks like one of the backgrounds being released is one of my old favorites called 'Ornamental Vines'.
I stamped/embossed the backgrounder with white onto black paper and then colored the white embossing with copic markers - this is a Technique Junkie technique called - ' copic colored embossing'
I then made 2 panels and edged them with gold mettalic pen and made 2 cards. The only thing different about the cards is the DP I used in the background and where I put the phrase.
I stamped the backgrounder onto the DP with red ink and then embossed the phrase with red.
The phrase is from a set also being released this week called 'Beautiful' and it has lots of great flourishes and phrases.
Ok - off to bed with me and one more night to work before haveing a few off :)

Rusty Robots

Hallo,
A sleepy me this am, busy night at work and off to bed woth me as soon as I show you these :)
I am doing some ATC's to trade at the stamp Convention near Atlanta the first weekend of Febr. and the theme is 'robots'
I used stamps from My Favorite Things and colored them to look like they are a bit rusty :) This robot had little gears on his front - so I took some of the tiny watch gears I had and attatched them with diamond glaze over top and then in the corner too.
The background paper is 'faux rusty metal technique' from Technique Junkies and then I added the gears and some accents with a bronze viva decor pen.
All for now - gotta get

Glimmer basket

Hallo,

Just a quick little project today....a little basket. I used the second largest Grand Labels 4 die and then spritzed it with glimmer mist and a screen/stencil from Tattered Angels.

Using my scoreboard I scored 1/2 inch on either side of the middle point and again at the first scallop and it folds easily into this little basket.

The flowers were done with a Technique Junkie technique called 'Taffata flowers' only modified because I have no taffata ribbon (amazingly enough with my large stash of ribbons and trim - No Taffata....). The handle was done with strips of the same 2 ribbons as the flowers.

Worked last night on low sleep (the teens decided to surprise DS with a late - thats the surprise part - birthday bash and after several rounds of putt putt golf came home and got in the pool). And yes the pool is still a bit cool so there was even more screeching than is normal with a group of teenagers..... :)

All for today - off to sleep..... BTW - not sure if this will accually have the paragraphs that I typed in.....blogger has been running them all together lately.....

Gina K color challenge-oops

Hallo,
Well not much cardmaking for me today either - worked last night and got conned into working again tonight because we are short staffed....but it works out better in the long run because Now I have 2 days off in a row instead of one, so maybe I can get more done tues/wed.....
I had this main image colored and got up a bit early today to finish it off.
I had meant it for the color challenge over at Stamp TV that was due this evening.....but as I was uploading it I noticed that I was sposed to include yellow also......it would have been easy to add some yellow but since I had already photgraphed and edited the pics.....lucky for me I used this weeks sketch also so I just loaded it to that challenge. Chalk it up to a busy night shift and just waking up.....

The main image is from Gina K and colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS.
In addition to the sketch I used a technique from Technique Junkies latest newsletter called 'clipped corners'. I thought it made for a little more pop - the blue flowers against the black.
All for tonight - gotta get off to work.

Lace and teacups

Hallo,
Another quick back post for you this wednesday afternoon. Well I got my booth set up at the flea market so we will see how it goes - the space rental is alot of $$ - but I have always done a couple craft fairs each year too and this booth fee equals what 4 - one day craft fairs would cost me and its for the whole month.....
I did this card for a challenge over at Flourishes blog - www.flourishes.org/blog/ and the challenge was for lace. I used the same piece of glimmer lace technique from Technique Junkies and cut it with my new spellbinders die called wonky squares...

All for now - I worked last night an haven't slept yet (and probably won't till bedtime tonight - normal bedtime anyway not night shift workers bedtime :).
I will have to go get my DD from a HS after school meeting about 4 so will try to get more of my cards priced to put in the booth tomorrow....

Lace Fairy

Hallo,
Well it is wednesday am and I am back posting for when I had origionally planned to post some of these - first I ran out of space on the blog and had to buy more and then for some strange reason my lap top wireless is not picking up for me - I have it hard wired for now to catch up a bit... And I had to work... and I have been trying to get stuff together to have a booth at a local indoor flea market for a couple months ( I hadnot expected space to open up for awhile yet....). ANYWAY - I have both our little pick-up and the van loaded and need to get to it - guess I needed bit of a blog fix first...
I did this card for a challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers - for lace and pearls. The backround is a technique from Technique Junkies called glimmer lace - I sprayed glimmer mist over a piece of lace and then I used a piece of lace in a similar color and bronzy/coppery colored pearls that I won from Vanessa - www.lovinlifescrappinit.com over at Sweet Pea Stampers.

The Sweet Pea image is colored with copics and edged with copper mettalic pen.
All for now - going to try to catch up on the rest of the week :).

Berry Sweet

Hallo,
Well I slept too late today - meant to get up at noon but it was thundering and raining and such wonderful sleeping weather.....managed to get up finally at about 2. DH was out and about watching the Nascar race with some friends, DS was playing xbox and DD was reading......off I went to the craft room.
I just got this stamp set in the mail yesterday from Flourishes so decided to play with it. I did it up for this weeks FTTC78 challenge over at the Flourishes blog - the challenge was 'no embellishments'. In all truth this set made the no embellishement thing pretty easy as it is a great image and fun to color.
Check out the challenge and more inspiration here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used a technique from this months Technique Junkie Magazine called 'layer up' to add some dimension to the card.
I colored 2 sets of this image and used the second one to pop up onb top of the first one is spots for a 3D look.
I colored the images with copics.
All for today - see you tomorrow before I head off to work again tomnorrow night....this one day off thing has me a bit disorganized but maybe now that the kiddos are back in school I will be able to get my act together.... wish me luck!!! :)

Wish

Hallo,
Just a quick little post for you this am as I am headed for the craft room to do a bit of reorganizing (just a bit as to do more would require several weeks and possible a backhoe... :)
Staying with the beach theme today, I am using some of the seashells I had left from my birdhouse project (I have a ton left over - I way over estimated how many I would use on the birdhouses, but thats ok because it means ready made seashells for cards...)
The backround is 'sanded coredinations' technique from Technique Junkies with one of my new Tim Holtz texture folders.
The trio was done by glueing shells to blue cardstock and cutting them out with a Spellbinders label die in my cuttlebug. I added a flat backed pearl to the middle one 'just beacause it needed it...'

I dug out a jar that held beads already mixed with glue to use on the strip, but alas the glue was mostly dried up -!!! NOTE TO SELF!!! - USE YOUR GOODIES BEFORE THEY DRY UP ect!!!! Oh well I made it work by crumbling the rubbery glue/bead mixture up and sticking it to a strip of double sided tape. And then glued some smaller seashells above the bead strip.
The little string of 3 pearls after the phrase accually covers up a small smude :) - remember the bigger pearl attatched to the shell 'just because' - well it was 'just because' it matched/tied-in the small row after the phrase..... :) funny how that works sometimes!!! :)
All right - time to get to work, I only have a few hours this am because the kids have appointments for school physicals this afternoon and DD is babysitting an itty bitty but very active munchkin at our house this afternoon......

P.S. All stamps from Gina K - colored with copics....

Birdhouses - lots of Birdhouses!!!

Hallo,
Lots of pictures to show you today of my little herd of birdhouses...
I started out planning to make one of these for a friend who likes the beach - then another, and one for myself, then.....well anyhow I ended up with 7 big ones and 2 small ones.
I have been working on these for a couple weeks now - I had planned for them to be Christmas presents but really am out of extra storage room, besides I can see no reason for everyone not to enjoy them now....

These started as just plain wood birdhouses from A.C. Moore - first I painted them all a nice deep aquamarine blue (letting dry overnight between all these next steps). Next a coat of crackle finish, followed by the turquoise paint.
I then added the thick tan colored crackle paste to the bottoms to look like sand.
The roofs are done with the 'faux rusty metal' technique from Technique Junkies - only I then ran them through a texture folder on my cuttlebug and swiped some black acrylic paint over the texture.
The seashells are stamps from Gina K and I did several 8X11 sheets of them - colored them with copics and cut them all out......that took a loonnnggg time!!!!
I then attatched the seashells to the birdhouses with mod podge, and the roof of each as well.
Lastly I painted a coat of outdoor sealant over each of the birdhouses so they would be more durable. Not sure if I will try mine outside or not......probably not.....
I am hoping to get these mailed out on thursday and my next big project is to do some reorganizing in my craft room......
All for today - a couple hours sleep is in order for me and then we will see what I can get started in the craft room....

Phindy Girl

Hallo,
A quick post for you today before I get started for the day - I was on call for work last night which means I got to relax at home to be called in if they needed me and they didn't - paycheck can't handle doing that too often but this was my first time being on call in about 6 months so it was nice. It means more stamping time for me today...
This adorable girl is a Phindy's Place image and I did her up for this weeks challenge to use 'blues' over at the Phindy's challenge blog - http://www.phindysplacechallenge.blogspot.com/
I colored her with copics and spica glitter pens (on her computer, phone, braclets and hair) and then cut her out.
I put her in her fab, bright and colorful room with 'faux painted paneling' technique from Technique Junkies and made a fab little modern art piece for her wall too - Can you tell I had fun with this one!!!!
Her rug is a piece of felt that I roughed up a bit to make it look fluffy.
All for today - off to walk the pooch and head for the craft room!!!

Felted Flourishes

Hallo,
I did this for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge - FTTC75 - over at the Flourishes blog.
This week the challenge was to use felt - and for me that is a challenge as I almost never use felt. But I hadn't had a chance to do the FTTC challenge in a couple weeks so I was determined!!!
Check out the blog for more inspiration - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used the felt as the backround - it is a tan colored piece of patterned felt and I rubbed some brown craft ink lightly over the top to bring out the texture. I used the same brown ink on the tan cardstock on which I stamped the reindeer and the phrase with dark brown ink.
I colored the reindeer with prismacolor pencils and cut him out using the 'out-of-the-box' technique from Technique Junkies with a Spellbinders labels die. I edged the reindeer panel with copper mettalic pen and then did some 'faux stitching' (also TJ) on that panel and the felt panel.

Behind the reindeer is another panel cut with a different shaped Spellbinders die - edged with copper mettalic ink also.
The metal frame around the phrase is from JoAnn's and started out as a pewter color - untill I colored it with the copper mettalic pen to match.
I added a few tiny pearls as accents - coloring one red for his nose and called him done :)
All for today - I really need to get off the computer and get ready for work now.....

Sweet Dragons

Hallo,
I finished off a couple cards today including this one for a challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
This challenge was a recipe - no DP, 2 images, 1 butterfly and 3 embellishments - WOW - talk about a challenge!!!!
No DP - no problem - I used white core paper, a TH texture folder and 'sanded coredinations' technique from Technique Junkies for the backround.
2 images - challenge - I had wanted to use my new dragons so I colored them with copics and did the rocks and floor in the same colors to coordinate. Getting them onto the same card in a pleasing way was a challenge for me - this is a 5X7 card - so I had a bit more room....
1 butterfly - bigger challenge as cave merdragons and butterfly's don't usually go together and I really had to hunt to find a small butterfly - this small butterfly is a partial stamp from Bellastamps. (and wouldn't you know it, once I moved onto my next card I came across another small butterfly that would have worked even better....). I slipped my butterfly onto the top merdragon picture flitting about the drip of water on the stalactite.

Last but not least - 3 embellishments. 1 - tiny pearls on the drip of water and the shell waterbowl. 2 - small decorative corners for the outside corners of both merdragon pictures. And #3 - my favorite - I stamped the fish onto scrap paper col0red them and cut them out and then put them onto a little fishing lure holder thingy and put it so it looked like the purple merdragon was holding the string of fish.
All in all a fun challenge!!!!
Goodnight for now - see ya tomorrow.
