Impression Obsession - no DP

Hallo,
Well its an early morning for me but the old meow woke me and I couldn't get back to sleep.....its nice and cool here again this am and a few sprinkles of rain here and there which will probably clear out in an hour or so (which is good because my ol mutt is whining for a walk...)
A card for you today based on the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog - which is "NO Designer Paper" Check it out here - http://www.mitrafriant.typepad.com/
This was actually an easy challenge for me as I LOVE background stamps - I have a boatload of background stamps but only 2 from IO. This one is the 'cover-a-card-kaleidoscope #CC028 and the main image is also IO and is 'Santa Window #H1793
This is a fairly simple 2 layer card - I stamped the background stamp with dark blue onto the light blue card base and distressed the edges a bit with the dark blue too.
The main image was colored with prismacolor pencils and then added spica glitter pen to the snow and Santa's beard and parts of the frame.

I embellished with a corner sticker and some liquid pearl dots from tulip (the dimensional fabric stuff works great on paper too - I will admit it does take a bit longer to dry than the viva decor pens but on the other hand the tulips are nicely less expensive!!!)
I am hoping to get in a bunch of craft time today as my house is mostly clean (as it ever gets anyhow....) just a couple little errands to run and I should be able to get a bunch of stuff done today.
I have some baby girl Christmas ornaments almost done - when done they will be up on the Etsy site as well as back posted for yesterdays post (I hate blank spots in my little ol blog :). I also have some Christmas tags in the works - but you will have to wait for tomorrow to see those (tomorrow evening as I am hoping to have 2 posts tomorrow).
All for now - Take Care

Baby Ornaments

Hallo,
I have some more Christmas ornaments - baby style - for you today.
The ornaments topper is from Outlines Rubber Stamps - I embossed the stamp onto purple, dark pin and a lighter pink papers and then cut them out with sissors.
I used viva decor pearl pens for the gold and white pearls accents and a tulip brand for the purple (the tulip is made for fabrics but works great on paper too - it does take a little longer to dry than the vivas and some of the bottles don't have a fine tip but they do work great - and a bit less expensive than the vivas)
I stamped the onsies onto shrink paer and colored them with prismacolor pencils, cut them out, punched a hole for the jump ring and then shrunk them.
The regular onsies are from Gina K Designs and the ones with feet are from Impression Obsession.
I did something a bit different with this batch because I was having charms fall off occasionally so I used a bit of jewerly glue on the jump ring. I also sprayed each ornament with acrylic sealer to help the paper be a bit more durable and then used a bit of glitter spray too just for fun.
These will be up on my Etsy shop shortly :)
Have a great day!!!

Mermaid Journal

Hallo
A quick post this am before I snuggle into bed to sleep....
I did this journal for the current challenge over at Sweet Pea Stamps which is for 'Remember' - What better way to remember than with a journal. Check out the challenge here - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com/
The image is of course from Sweet Pea Stamps and is colored with copics and spica glitter pens.
I cut her out with a Spellbinders die and layered her to another die. I then used a viva decor pearl pen in gold the accent the bottom die and the corners.
All for now - sleepy time....

House Mouse Thanks

Hallo,
Well a busy day for me....I tried to finish off some Christmas ornaments that I had intended to get done this weekend but discovered that the ornaments I had were to big....so I made a trip to JoAnn's and knocked out a couple other errands too. Then since I had to get a few groceries anyhow - I decided to get my Thanksgiving dinner groceried too and boy howdy, I think everyone had the same idea as me....
I almost never go to the commisary (military for grocery store) on the weekends and din't want to wait till next week but I guess everyone hads the same idea today. Then I get all the way to the car to remember that I forgot pie crusts.....so if figured I might as well get it over with and waded in for the second time..... I really needed my nap (pre-night shift work nap) for more than one reason today :).
Well todays project I made for the currrent challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends blog - which was to make a 'Thankful' project. Check out the challenge here - www.housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com

Although I have never seen lilacs grown in these colors - we(when I was a kid) used to take some blooms and dry them and then spray them with watered down tempra paints....so that is how I decided to color these today :)

The stamp is of course a HM stamp and I colored it with prismacolor pencils. I cut the main image with a Spellbinders die using an out-of-the-box technique and layered it to another cut from the same die.

All for today - time to get some super and get off to work for the night.

Outlines challenge

Hallo,
The end of a long weekend here in the Fujan clan household - both the kids and DH had off on friday so we all had an extra day this weekend :)
I finished this off today for the current challenge over at the Outlines blog. The challenge this time was an inspiration photo with lots of bright yellow and green and a touch of blue.
Check it out here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I used 3 different Outlines stamps and paper pieced them onto some pretty spring-like paper.
A touch of kraft paper, some ribbon and rhinestones.....
All for today - finishing up some projects tonight for a couple customers from my last craft fair :)

Christmas Scraps

Hallo,
Sitting doing some craft stuff while watching the Huskers play today...winning so far :)
I am almost done with Christmas cards - only about 15 /20 yet to make so I added to my stash today.
The challenge over at Stamp TV was to use up some of your scraps. I had several batches of Christmas DP scraps so I cut them into strips and attatched them to sticker paper - I had 3 sheets of sticker paper full. First I cut out 2 tags (from yesterdays post...) out of each sheet and the strips that were left I used on these 3 cards.
On this first card I covered the strips with double sided tape and added some clear micro beads befor attatching it to the card.
The phrase is from Gina K, embossed in gold.
And the corners are stickers left from an after Christmas sale last year....
All for now - have a bit of shopping to do after the game and then hope to get back to the craft table... :)

Christmas Tags

Hallo,
Just a short post this afternoon because I am headed for a nap - I slept about 4 hours after work this am and it is just not enough!!!
But I had important things to do, like make these tags for one of the release week challenges over at Flourishes - its my last one :)

I forgot to take a picture of the backs - durn - I took scraps of Christmas DP and cut them into strips and attatched them to sticker paper - then glued the white cardboard ornament to the back of the sticker paper(I didn't have any double sided...)
Then I stamped images from several Flourishes sets ansd colored them with my prismacolor pencils.
Check out all the challenges and great new sets this week over at the Flourishes blog - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All for today :)
Have a great weekend!!
