Hallo,
Well I guess I am up and moving for the day - slept better for my few hours today than I did all day yesterday but if I would have stayed in bed much longer I would have not slept tonight so time to get a move on.
I don't feel like cleaning and its too hot outside to pull weeds, so I am headed to the couch to work on a rug I am making for my Mom for her Birthday - it will be a bit late, but when my DD and I drive up to take her back to college then I will bring it with me - which means I have just short of a month to get it done.....
I also have some coloring that needs to get done and need to start working on stuff for a class I am teaching in September with our local CLL _ Center for LifeLong Learning - all volunteer group and we have classes on everything from politics, history, religion, knitting, photography, dancing, geology, art, various arts and crafts and even skeet shooting - great place to learn something new for not a whole lotta money (instructors and admin are all volunteer but it does cost us money to rent rooms for classrooms and such :).
Todays pretty is another in the reading card series and uses an image from Sweet Pea Stamps artist - Ching Chou Kuik called 'Silentness" .
I colored her with prismcolor and polychrome pencils and then edged both layers with gold metallic pen. I added some gold stickers for accents too.
The back is stamped and embossed with stamps from Papertrey Ink.
Well better get busy here - Have a great day!!!

Hallo,
Another HOT and STEAMY morning here in NW Florida - even the dogs where glad to be home after only a half hour walk this am - woozers - this weekend the heat index was around 120 degrees......
I have a sweet image from Sweet Pea Stamps for you this am called 'Dark Lilies' by Ching Chou Kuik. I colored her with prismacolor and polychrome pencils.
I mounted the image to some gold shimmery paper and edged both panels with gold metallic pen. I added some gold corner stickers for some accent.
The back of this card is stamped and embossed with stamps from Papertrey Ink.
I am off to the studio today for most of the day and then an errand or 2 on the way home - hopefully tomorrow I will get some time in my craft room too.
All for today - Take Care

Mermaid baby - gift box and memory book
Hallo,
Posting a sweet little project this am using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching Chou Kuik.
I just love this little mermaid and her baby and decided to make them into a gift box and memory book.
I took a chipboard book with 8 pages and covered it with pretty papers in purple and green and then covered the box in some of the same papers to match.
Then I colored up the image 3 times the same way for the box, book and a matching card for gifting.
I decorated with some seashells and some sweet little bead circles to accent their pretty faces. I just love making up boxes like these for babys and weddings - all they have to do is add their own pictures and they have a memory book with its own keepsake box to match. Such fun!!!
Well the weekend was a busy one for me - both my kiddos headed back to college after spring break and I wont see my daughter now till the end of June - she leaves the day after school is out for 6 weeks in Germany for a 'study-abroad' program. She is taking both German and Spanish as minors (possibly for majors) so it is a great opportunity for her. Both my kids were born in Germany when we were stationed there with the military, and my daughter spoke German as well as she spoke English before we came back - but she was only 3, and a big talker :) so it should come back to her a bit easier.
Saturday I had a art/craft fair at our local Arts and Design society which is always a lot of fun not only being able to market my treasures for a reasonable table fee but to hang out with the artsy crowd for the day too :)!!
Yesterday I was a bit lazy and hung around the house and in the craft room - caught up on a few phone calls while I was puttering around trying to get my craft room back in some working order after spring break :).
Well - I am off to run an errand or 2 this am and then a bit of craft time before I have to go to work tonight. I have 4 shifts to work and then I have a week off - and I have plans to spend than week almost totally in my craft room and studio :) SOOOO looking forward to it!!!!
Have a great day!!!

Lilies
Hallo,
Well I have spent the major part of the day in the craft room - finally - I have been playing catch up since Monday from graduation week. We had lots of family in town and had a great time but almost everything else got put on hold - so in the last 3 days - there was lots of laundry, groceries to get, a doctors appointment, a car loan to fill out paperwork for, a car to but for my DS to take to college this fall with him, among the many errands - so I didn't get too much craft room time, although spent a couple of those evenings coloring while watching the TV.....
Today I am using a Sweet Pea digi image - also available as a rubber stamp - by Ching Chou Kuik called 'Dark Lilies'
I colored her with prismacolor pencils - was trying to make her hair look wet but didn't turn out like I had thought....
Used lots of pink on this one - not my usual color :)
Even made her eyes that color just for fun.
Sprayed the paper flowers with pinkish glimmer mist and used a pretty pink and black flowered ribbon and some gold pearl drops with a Viva Décor pen.
All for today - am off to try out the water in our pool, should be nice and warm :)

Woodland Fairy - Sweet Pea Stampers challenge
Hallo,
Its a new challenge Friday over at Sweet Pea Stampers - www.thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/ and we are using the above photo for inspiration - which I found a bit difficult :)
I ended up thinking what the woods would be like as I walked down the path in the photo and then into the woods. Along the way were toadstools and birds and fairies :)
So naturally I used 'Toadstool Fascination " by Ching Chou Kuik from Sweet Pea Stamps - www.sweetpeastamps.com.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and used a Spellbinders die to cut her out. Edged the main image with a gold metallic pen and then added a scrap of old lace, some paper flowers that I spritzed with a blue glimmer mist and a plain one and then lastly added some teal blue pearls with a viva décor pen.
I really like this image - such a sweet face and the mushrooms too - when I was living in Alaska I was amazed at how many different types of mushrooms there were - still have a lot of the photos I took :)
Well its graduation week here - my son graduated from HS yesterday and we have lots of family in town to celebrate and hang out!!! It has been a lot of fun so far and the weekend yet to come :)
Take Care and Have a great weekend too!!!

Tropical Beauty
Hallo,
I am having a hard time getting in gear this am - today is my day to clean house before all the family starts arriving for Graduation - and I hate house cleaning :).....maybe if I get done in time I can reward myself with some time in the craft room!!!
So therefore a quick post and the spoiled puppy will take me for a walk and then I clean.....
The stamp/digi image I used today is called 'Night Dreamer' by Ching Chou Kuik from Sweet Pea Stamps - www.sweetpeastamps.com
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and cut the image out with a Spellbinders die. I edged the main image with gold metallic pen.
The orange panel is edged with teal ink and I used a teal colored glimmer mist spray to color the flowers(they were white). A gold corner sticker and some light green ribbon finish her off.
All for today

Fan Princess
Hallo,
Cloudy and cool this am here in NW Florida - hoping the rain holds off as the DH is going on a longish ride on the Harley today - I thought about going with him but DS has a soccer game today too and I haven't managed to make one in awhile, mostly because of work but last weekend the traffic to get to the soccer field was horrible (Memorial Day weekend and the beach road....)
This is the last soccer game for the season - except for a tournament which if its next weekend will be good but the next weekend I work....
Todays card is a stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps by Ching Chou Kuik called 'Pink Peony'
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders die...added ribbons, purple flowers (some of them look pink, couldn't get them to look purple ....but they are a pinkish purple...) and some pearl drops with a viva décor pen.
All for today - going to do some crafty stuff this am (although with it being nice and cool out I 'should' do some yard work....)

Owl Journal - kraft challenge at Sweet Pea Stampers
Hallo,
Have you ever tried the kraft colored cardstock from Neenah called 'desert storm' - It is just wonderful to color on. I love how the skin tones look on kraft and the 'desert storm' is nice and sooth and easy to color on!!!
So for the 'kraft' challenge this week over at Sweet Pea Stampers I started with this beautiful image from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Silentness'(owl version) by Elaine Cox
and printed her onto the 'desert storm' cardstock. I colored her with prismacolor pencils.
I layered her to some kraft core - coordinations paper that was embossed with a texture folder and sanded off.
The base layer on this journal is normal kraft cardstock that I embossed with the same folder as the middle layer and inked the texture with gray ink.
I edged the main layer and the journal layer with silver metallic ink and added some pearl drops with a silver fabric paint pen from tulip and added some white feathers too.
You can find this great image as both a rubber stamp and digital image here - www.sweetpeastamps.com - below is a coupon good through this weekend!!!! :) Sweetness!!!
Join us and play in our challenge this time and you could win some free images from Sweet Pea Stamps :)

Oriental Journal
Hallo,
Well I didn't get as much done in the craft room yesterday as I would have liked but I did get a batch of graduation cards done and this journal.
I did this journal for a friend of mine who found out last week that her hubbys next assignment with the military will be to Japan. So they will be moving soon - first part of July I think. Its their first time overseas so I thought she might like a journal for their new adventure - and her Birthday is this week too :)
I covered the journal in oriental washi paper from my long hoarded stash :) and added some ribbons to match how I colored the image.
The image is - of course - from Sweet Pea Stamps. She is called 'Pink Peony' and is by Ching Chou Kuik.
She is available as a rubber stamp and digital image. I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die and edged with a gold metallic pen.
I also added some pearl drops with a viva décor pen.
All for today - errands to run and then back to the craft room fast as I can :)

I colored them both with prismacolor pencils and used Spellbinders dies to cut them out and the fancy layer underneath too.

Mermaid baby gift box and memory book
Hallo,
Boy am I sleepy this afternoon....didn't sleep well last night and too much to get done today. I made the 1 and 1/2 hour drive - each way - to add a couple treasures to mu booth at a lovely Hand made craft market in Panama City - and the drive home was tough!!! I took my sweet Kyna (my puppy) along with me today. She loves car rides but have never been on one that long before and she was so good!!!
I made up this gift box using a stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Aloha' by Ching Chou Kuik.
I colored her 3 times - one for the box, one for the memory book and one for the card.
I covered a sturdy box with pretty papers, added some ribbons and flowers and some pearl drops in teal with a viva décor pen.
The front of the box has a magnetic closure and I used some of the same ribbons to act as a pull to open it up.
All for me today - got to get a small suitcase packed as I am flying out in the am to Nebraska to visit my Daughter. Her college ROTC has their awards night and parents day on Thursday so we will spend a couple days together and I will be back in town on Saturday. (I have pre-posted for tomorrow and Friday so be sure to stop back!!!
