Sweet Dragons

Hallo,
I finished off a couple cards today including this one for a challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
This challenge was a recipe - no DP, 2 images, 1 butterfly and 3 embellishments - WOW - talk about a challenge!!!!
No DP - no problem - I used white core paper, a TH texture folder and 'sanded coredinations' technique from Technique Junkies for the backround.
2 images - challenge - I had wanted to use my new dragons so I colored them with copics and did the rocks and floor in the same colors to coordinate. Getting them onto the same card in a pleasing way was a challenge for me - this is a 5X7 card - so I had a bit more room....
1 butterfly - bigger challenge as cave merdragons and butterfly's don't usually go together and I really had to hunt to find a small butterfly - this small butterfly is a partial stamp from Bellastamps. (and wouldn't you know it, once I moved onto my next card I came across another small butterfly that would have worked even better....). I slipped my butterfly onto the top merdragon picture flitting about the drip of water on the stalactite.

Last but not least - 3 embellishments. 1 - tiny pearls on the drip of water and the shell waterbowl. 2 - small decorative corners for the outside corners of both merdragon pictures. And #3 - my favorite - I stamped the fish onto scrap paper col0red them and cut them out and then put them onto a little fishing lure holder thingy and put it so it looked like the purple merdragon was holding the string of fish.
All in all a fun challenge!!!!
Goodnight for now - see ya tomorrow.

Koi Relax

Hallo,
I hope everyone had a good weekend!!! I worked all weekend so now I am off for a couple days - house work, yard work, some crafting, running kiddos around. Both kiddos have had nasty head colds - DD last weekend and DS this weekend - so hopefully we are done with it....
I did this plaque for the 'Terrific Tuesday' challenge over at the Flourishes Blog - http://www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/

The challenge was to 'mix things up' and once I start to list all the different companies stamps that I used to make this you'll agree that I definatly mixed it up!!! :) and as usual I am getting in just under the wire for this challenge!!!!
All right - stamps list - First are several stamps from 2 of my newest sets from Flourishes - the Koi fish, water lilies, lounge chair, water swirl and palm trees with hammock.

From Cornish Heritage Farms - the palm trees in the backround and the tiny kitten by the chair - both from their 'Scene It ' line.
From Stampin' Up - 2 different grass stamps.
From Stamping Bella - the little cruise ship (I saw and ad in a travel magazine with huge koi fish and a small cruise ship so I had to copy it).
And finally the word is a partial stamp from My Favorite Things.
Do ya think that is 'mixed up' enough for ya? :)

I colored the Koi fish, hammock scene and cruise ship with copics and then colored over them with an embossing pen and embossed them with clear powder.
Then I sponged in blues for the sky and pond and stamped the backround palm trees, grasses, and water swirls. then spongeing some more browns on the risht side and added some highlights with a white gel pen. And lastly edged the panel with gold krylon pen.

The panel with the chair I cut with one of my nesties and then sponged it with blues while still in the die. Then stamped the chair and the kitten and colored them with copics, and highlighted with white gel pen. Then I inked up just the word 'relax' from the phrase and stamped it.
The waterlilies are colored with copics and cut out to layer on top.
Layers are glued down with gold shimmer mod podge which looks really cool IRL but the soft shimmer doesn't pick up very well in my photos. I then edged the plaque with gold krylon.
All for now - got lots of schtuff to do - anyone got any extra energy to spare? :)

Party at Da House

Hallo,
I had some fun yesterday with my Bella's and Gina 's. A friend from work asked me to make her a card for friends who just bought a new house. Her friends like BBQ and 'cocktails'
Everything was stamped with memento black and colored in with my prismacolor markers ( I am liking the alcohol markers more and more...)
The couple is Bellastamps and the phrase and mixer are Gina K.
Of course I had to do 2 versions....
All for today as I am at work (preposted :)

Weekend Bella

Hallo,
Another Bella for you today - from my stash, and the Weekend Sketch from this last weekend - better late than never.
You can find Bella here - http://www.stampingbella.com/
Bella is colored with prismacolor pencils and the phrase is from Gina K
http://www.ginakdesigns.com/.
I used some nesties to cut the layers, and a several punches to cut the blue flower and 3 flower shapes out of a clear sheet, inked roughly with stazon and dew drops for centers.
All for today - tomorrow I am going to a large outdoor Arts and Crafts fair a couple hours aways from here with some of my local stamping buddies. I hope to have a few pics of that for you tomorrow.

Bella Techno Wish

Hallo,
Another sketch for you today - this one from Technostamper - http://www.technostamper.blogspot.com/
I had this Bella in my stash since last summer if you believe it - I had colored extra when I made up some ATC's to swap on my Stampin Cruise last October. She is colored with prismacolor pencils. You can find her here - www.stampingbella.com
The phrase is from Gina K - www.ginakdesigns.com
The DP is from K&Company.
I used my nesties to cut the layers and sanded the edges a bit for a distressed look. I also used a border punch for the scallops and some orange dew drops....
All for today - Take Care

Houndstooth Jumper

Hallo,
Backing up - I finished off a couple cards that were half done laying on my desk from my black and white/horse kick .
The jumper is from 'The Stamp Pad' and the stamped panels are a backrounder 'houndstooth' from Cornish Heritage Farms http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com .
I also used a cuttlebug folder with a houndstooth pattern, my scor-pal on the base of the card and some cool embellishments from Bellastamps.
At first I couldn't decide whether to color the main panel in or not - so I did one colored and one not and ended up liking the uncolored one better for this card. I will show you the card I made with the main image colored tomorrow.
I am working the 'real' job the next 3 days - 12 hr shifts....- but will prepost a couple things for ya. Then hopefully I will have enough energy left on monday to do some stamping :) - after I sleep late, walk the dog, do yard work....... :)
Have a good weekend ya'll

Cruise projects and swaps

The first 3 pictures are of the projects we did for the cruise classes - there is a small pile on the left of one I have to finish yet....
We did several things that involved containers and matching cards which I love !!!!!! I only have a week until I have a craft fair - an only 2 days off to try and get some of these done aas I think they are sooo cute!!!!

This is what I got from the 3D swap - there were only 2 of us - I got the better end of the deal here - this is sooo cute (another project to try) This is a simple washer with white rub ons, how cool is that!!! Love it!!!

This is a scrapbook page for our 6X6 swap and there was only 2 of us for that too - love those fishes!!!

This is all the other swaps except the Christmas one - lots of great stuff here!!! And most of them using stuff from our 3 Hostesses.

Last but not least is a photo of the Christmas card swap - I will be using them this year - (I am way behind making mine). There were a couple people who did cards using the clear sheets and I may have to CASE them first - I think I will be CASEing alot of them!!!

Stampin Bliss

Hallo,
I had planned on one really long post, but had all the photos uploaded and 90% written when it all went poof into cyberspace so I will redo but in a couple shorter posts.
The first picture is of all my beads - the girls (the hostesses with the mostest - Gina, Em & Nicky, and Nichole) gave us chain necklaces and starter beads & charms at the meet and greet the first night. We earned more beads along the way by answering questions, trying new things, and in general hootin, hollarin and squealin in delight (I think I have lived in the south too long...). We also were encouraged to make/bring charms to trade and I traded for a bunch too (see some of the precruise posts for pics of mine). At the 'Bead Extravaganza' on the last night I was in the top 5ish for most beads and most charms.

This s econd photo is one of all the stuff from our goodie bag, plus the extra 'surprises' we got along the way.
The girls gave me the scor mat to go with the scorpal for my Birthday!!!!
In addition to the scorpal we got 8 stamp sets from Gina, 5 from Nichole and a boatload from the Bella girls Nicki & Em. 50 yards of ribbon - 5yrds each of 10 colors/styles, 10 pallette ink cubes, peerless watercolors, koh i norr pencils, a spellbinder die, memory mists in gold and silver, a black ink pad, white embossing powder, an acrylic block, some OMS , a white metallic pen, a small swival craft knife, some paper and a whole bunch of baubles/bling from Bella.....I am sure there is some I have forgotten....
All the stamp sets are either new/not released yet or from a current release so we were the first to play with most of these!!!!

This picture is of Gina K and I - I am hardly ever in a picture that I don't blink.....

This is me with the Bella's - Nicky and Emily.

And this one is me with Nichole from Papertrey Ink - and I didn't blink!!!
This is one great group of women folks!!!! They went above and beyond when planning the projects for the classes - I came home with many ideas swimming in my brain (now if I can only find time to do them!!).
I tried peerless watercolor for the first time, and lots of folks tried the koh i noor pencils and blending with OMS for the first time, and the cuttlebug, and bleaching....
If you ever get a chance to Cruise with these gals or even just to take some classes with them - go for it, you won't regret it!!!!
Thanks guys for a great time!!!!
More stuff tomorrow - I work the next 3 days (12 hrs shifts) so DH is in charge of Halloween again this year - my kiddos and the neighbor girls are making a Haunted Maze at the neighbors across the street, they have been working on it for weeks, have signs up everywhere so I am sure it will be a busy night.
