Hallo,
A short post this afternoon as I need to get outta this chair and do my knee exercises.....
I finished off 2 cars today and this is the first one. She is a digital image from Julia Burgess called 'Pearl' and I colored her with polychrome pencils.
I printed her onto 'cryogen white' cardstock from Paper Temptress. The cryogen white is my favorite cardstock for coloring - either pencil or copics - because it is so smooth and both blend very well on this cardstock.
I layered her onto 'Lagoon' cardstock also from Paper Temptress's metallic line. It is a lovely turquoise color and wonderful sparkle.
All for today - I have another one for you tomorrow. Take Care.

Flower challenge - Sweet Pea Stampers
Hallo,
Well how is everyone's new year going so far!! We are pretty much back to 'normal ' here - DD went back to college on the 10th, all the Christmas decs are down and put away for the year...still have a couple Christmas projects that I am determined to finish before stashing away all the Christmas cardstock, DP and doo dads until next year....and I am still working on finishing off projects for the card coloring class I am teaching starting next week with our local volunteer adult learning center.... 'normal' is relative :) and busy is good :)
Time for another Sweet Pea Stampers challenge and this time it is for 'flowers - flower power :)'
I know I used this image for the last challenge too but I colored her up a couple different ways when I pulled her out last month and I really love how this one turned out!!! This beautiful mermaid is from Elaine Cox and is called 'Kiara' - she is available as a rubber stamp and a digi.
I colored her with Koh-I-Noor and prismacolor pencils. She is cut out with and layered to Spellbinders dies. I added some edging with a gold metallic pen, some gold mesh ribbon, some gold pearl drops with a Viva décor pen and some beautiful paper flowers.

Sunshine and tulips
Hallo,
A cool and rainy morning here in NW Florida - had pretty good thunder boomers last night which I love!!!
I got in a lot of craft room time yesterday and hope for a bit more today (after a couple errands :)
One more card for the current challenge over at Flourishes - this time it is to use some vellum. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
Both stamps are from Flourishes and the main image is colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils. I used some OMS and blended the background a bit...
I used a Spellbinders label die to cut out the image and edged it with brown ink and embossed the phrase onto the vellum with white embossing powder. Lastly I used a Viva Décor pearl pen for the pearl drops in bronze - I use the bronze one ALOT!!! - just love the color....
All for this am - Take Care

March Gina K CSS hop - sparkles
Hallo,
Welcome to this months Gina K CSS Alumni blog hop - our theme this time is 'Simplicity Sparkles' to make a clean and simple card and use only embellishments that sparkle.
Make sure to leave some comments along the way because we will be drawing one random commenter to win a grab bag of Gina K design products!!!!
If you are following along the hop then you came to me from the very sweet and talented Miesje http://miesdf.blogspot.com/2013/03/css-simplicity-sparkles-blog-hop-3-26.html and I am sure she had some great eye candy!!
Also part of the challenge for this time we are using sets from releases from September 2012 through Februrary 2013.
I chose the 'Beyond Baskets' set combined with the older 'Holiday Baskets' set. I did a small bit of masking and then colored with copics. I cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and used an out-of-the-box technique and then edged it with a gold mettalic pen.
I colored over the top of the flowers with yellow glitter pen and then added more glitter with some clear stickles.
In 2 of the corners I added some gold pearl drops with a touch of stickles over the top after they dried for some sparkle.
Next I send you on to the very talented Vicki http://allidoisstamp.blogspot.com/2013/03/stv-css-hop.html where I am sure she has some great sparkle for you too!!!
I am at work again tonight and then have 3 days off!!!! Yippee!!!

Red Pointsetta
Hallo,
Well a busy day for me - didn't sleep well last night and have been running all day so I didn't get a nap - it is going to be a tough night at work tonight!!!! Thank goodness for 5 hour energy and caffiene!!!
Todays card is for todays release challenge over at Flourishes which is for 'inside and out' - meaning to put some decoration on the inside of your card too!!! Check out all the challenges here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I had this card already made up and waiting to post so it worked out great for me today with all my busyness....
The stamps are all from Flourishes of course - front colored with copics and cut out with Spellbinders dies.
I edged the layers with gold mettalic pen and added some pearl drops with a viva decor pearl pen.
On the inside I embossed in gold both the same pointsetta image and the phrase from the same set and added a left over strip of the same DP as I used on the front.
I think I am up to about 30 Christmas cards made now - alot more to go (I love Christmas and love the tradition of sending Christmas cards so I send out ALOT!!!)
Alright it is time to get some super and get dressed for work - Have a great evening yas'll!!!

Summer Vacation
Hallo,
Well it was very hard to get up early today but old Meow (my sweet but persistant 21 year old cat) decided that I needed to be awake to feed her and pay her some attention :).
After old meow had her attention, she allowed me some time in the craft room and I finished up a card for the current challenge over on the IO (Impression Obsession ) blog.
The challenge this time is for 'summer celebrations' and you can check it out here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
To me, one of the best parts of summer is taking a trip of some sort and do something new and fun.
This bridge scene 'covered bridge scene' #H1781 reminds me of the trip when we took our kids white water rafting for the first time. We had soo much fun - even DH who doesn't swim - my son caught so much air on one rapid that he was about 4 feet above the raft and would have be overboard if DH hadn't caught the strap of the PFD (personal flotation device) and hauled him back down - meanwhile DS was grinning from ear to ear.....the look on his face could only have been described as manic glee!!!
While we were in the area - stayed at a local cabin - we did some driving around and found a covered bridge that had been used in an old movie - thats why this scene reminds me of that vacation :)
I colored the scene with copics and edged it with copper mettalic pen and layered it to a piece of copper mettalic cardstock that I ran through a texture folder. I then added some accents with a bronze viva decor pen. I have to admit that the colors turned out more fallish than summer - ah well just think late summer :)
Alrighty - I had better look at getting something started for super and maybe pick up around the house just a bit.....anyhow if I sit down too much longer I will be asleep :) such is the nature of a night shift worker woke up after 4 hours sleep by a persistant old meow :)

Magnolia frame
Well so far I donot like the new format blogger is using.....bleh....hope I get used to it.
Couple pics of a frame that I redecorated - I found it at a thrift shop (and even remembered to take 'before' pics this time - they are at the end of the post). This is defiantly an old picture frame - the tabs that slide over to hold the picture in the frame on the back of it were plastic and they just disintegrated in my hands when I was taking apart the frame....
The magnolias are from Flourishes and colored with copics on the left hand frame and layered to pretty DP - I also used the magnolias stamped in gray ink behind the phrase on the right side of the frame.
The phrase is from Verve.
I cut both main panels out with a Spellbinders die and edged them with gold mettalic pen. I then used a thin gold mettalic pen to outline the scrolls etched into the corners of each frame. Lastly I used some viva decor gold pen on the frame and on the DP behind the main images.
All for me today - gotta get ready to head off to work.....
This piece will be up on the Etsy shop here shortly :)
Take Care
