Late Weekend Sketch

Hallo,
I am a little late with the Weekend Sketch Challenge but I had wanted to get some cards done and the sketches really help me get going.
The WSC71 was hosted this time by Sharon at
www.paperfections.typepad.com.
For this card I pulled out "My Cuppa Joe" from Gina K - www.ginakdesigns.com
For what I thought was a pretty simple looking sketch, this was try #3 for this card - I kept getting things cadywompass or smeared....
Stamped with distress inks and colored in with my Koh i noor pencils.
Layers are cut with my nesties/cuttlebug.
All for today
Take Care

SFYTT - 3fer

Hallo,
I cannot believe how much I have managed to get done today -took the pooch for a walk, got on my nasty excersise machine, did a couple hours of yard work and then managed to finish off enough stuff for you all to look at the rest of the week while I work.
I work tomorrow and friday and thursday I am teaching a class - for work....
Anyway this is Jen's weekly sketch for you to try.
www.iheart2stamp.com
I ended up doing 3 cards for this sketch - just switched up colors a bit.
This first one I paper pieced her outfit with the same paper as the bottom layer - both are a technique from 'Technique Junkies' called 'faux designer paper (uses Inkadinkado stamps). I also pieced the desk with a woodgrain patterned paper.
The main image and the phrase are both from
My Favorite Things - www.mftstamp.com
All the layer were cut with my nestabilities using my cuttlebug.

This more purple version uses a different color of the Faux Designer Paper technique - with more purples in it but same stamps and overall pattern.

Last but not least the yellow version - but the girls outfit is paper pieced with some 'store-bought' DP.
All for today - going to try and get some cleaning done before its time to start dinner.
Take Care and have a good week.

Chipboard CPS 106

Hallo,
Another busy weekend at work - so glad to have a day off!!! So glad to find time to play in the craft room, and had lunch with my DH today too - BONUS!!!
Another sketch from CPS today - I had forgotten how much I really loved to do sketches.
This is Sketch 106 - go take a look at what everyone had done with this sketch - www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com
These 3 cards were all done with a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms called 'Cancer is so limited' - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
I also used some chipboard that I had sprayed with glimmer mist. Also some felt and paper flowers with dew drop centers.

Fot this pink one I used the same white spotted flowers from the first only sprayed them with glimmer mist - pomegranet I think, and added pink dew drops.

The centers in this one are buttons......
Well all for today ya'll - more prettys tomorrow.
(that is after walking the dog, getting on my mean ol' excersise machine, doing some yard work....)

Cancer Cannot - Lighthouse

Hallo,
This is another in my little series of experiments that I worked on and finished up back on tuesday.
The main image size is 5X7 and the complete size is 8X10.
The lighthouse is from Stamps Happen.
The Cancer Cannot poem is from Cornish Heritage Farms - www.cornishheritagefarms.com
I really love this poem!!! I know so many folks battling Canceer right now - this is #3 I have done so far and have at least 4 more to make - only 2 more with the lighthouse, then will need to do some with flowers....
With the main image, I did alot of playing - watercolor, clear gesso, stamped the lighthouse onto a white paper napkin and glued on with gel medium, stamping on to the watercolor paper, more paint - gouache this time, distress crackle paint and ink on chipboard, and glimmer mist on chipboard, stamped the poem onto vellum.
The main image is mounted on top of handmade paper.
All for today - have today off then work all weekend, so I will see you on Monday again. Have a Great Weekend!!!!
Take Care
Tera

This sketch is Weekend Sketch Challenge # 70 - hosted this week by Lori Craig - www.loricraig.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com

The stamp I used is from Rubber Romance and colored with prismacolor pencils.
