Archway Angel - Breast Cancer Awareness - new Sweet Pea Stampers challenge

 Hallo,
Just a quick post today - I am on a - sort of - vacation from work this week - am attending a Nursing conference (learning and getting in some education hours needed for a couple of my certifications....)
The new challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers is for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I used Karen Middleton's 'Archway Angel' and did her up in pinks :)
My Mom is a Breast Cancer survivor - 7 years now.
My Dad's Mom also had Breast Cancer - she passed away more than 30 years ago now.
I colored this little Angel with my copics and added a few pink rhinestones to her wings and on the card too, along with some beaded trim and an old pink flowered ribbon.
   Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Outlines ornaments

Hallo,
Off and running on this chilly Monday am in NW Florida - chilly, damp, and windy, but my ol mutt insisted on a walk anyhow (he loves the cooler weather as much as I do!!).
Laundry started and after a quick post - groceries, bank, post office and some baking for the kids to take food to the Swim Team party pot luck tonight (which of course I don't get to go to because I work :(.....
And hopefully I will get some craft room time as I have Christmas presents that I am making for the Family that I want to get mailed out next week if I can.
I am mailing several of these out to my Mom today. My Mom is a Breast Cancer Survivor - 4 years now!!!!
This first ornament is for her and then I am sending her several for friends of hers that are also survivors.
I did these ornaments using all stamps from Outlines rubber stamps and they just happen to fit with this weeks challenge over at the Outlines blog to make an ornament or hanging (no cards).
Check it out here - www.outlineswithkathy.blogspot.com
I had planned to have these done in October but as usual time got away from me and they are just now getting done. I also did a few extra for the Etsy shop if anyone is interested - the link is in my sidebar near the top.
I used one of the ornament toppers and the support ribbon for these ornaments. I had accually bought the kit for the pink ribbon pins about a year or so ago - the kit made up about 12 of them with the rhinestones and I used 10 of them for charms on 2 ornaments and then made 2 pins too.
The last 2 ornaments instead of rhinestones, I used liquid pearls - the white is a viva decor pen and the pink is from tulip (made for fabric but works great on paper!!)
I really had fun making these ornaments!!! I have a bunch more in the works with colored bulbs - so fun mixing and matching colors!!! :)
Well I had better get off the 'puter and get my errands done!!!!

White Believe

Hallo,
Happy Friday morning to ya'll. I am at work today so will leave you a little something to look at....
This is an 8X10 picture to frame. I started this from a challenge in the MFT forum over at Splitcoast Stampers and had the stamp sets, cuttlebug folders, and nesties all picked out and then was stumped - good thing I had a great sketch from my friend Vicki just waiting for me to put it to use.
Pop over to Vicki's blog to see what everyone else did with this great sketch - http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/
The challenge at the My Favorite Things forum was to use mostly white and stamps from MFT. I don't have any MFT Christmas or winter stamps so I decided to use one of my mostest favoritest sets called 'We're in this together.' You can find their great stamps here - http://www.mftstamps.com/
The base of this picture (on top of heavy weight chipboard) is white cardstock embossed with 4 different cuttlebug folders and then lightly brushed with embossing ink and glittery gold powder.

Next I cut several nestie labels layers and ran them through the cuttlebug folders, and edged all with gold mettalic pen.
I cut a ribbon slide also, edged with gold pen and stamped on it and slide some pink ribbon through it.
There are 3 different white and cream ribbons, a couple cream flowers, and some pink rhinestones.
The MFT stamped layers are colored with copics and some pink spica glitter pen for the ribbons on their shirts.
The poem is one I really love from Cornish Heritage Farms - called 'Cancer is so Limited' and you can find it here - http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/
Whew - lots of typeing today.....I really like how this turned out!!!!!
My Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 years ago - had surgery but they caught it early so no chemo or radiation. 2 years and counting!!!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!!!
Tera
P.S. This was accually sortof a second attempt as I did another one with more pink on the bottom layer but liked this one best for the challenge. Will show you the pink version on Monday.....

Together

Hallo,

Well I didn't get as much time for the craft room as I intended today but I did manage to get a little done around my house - a little each day and eventually I may catch up :).

I started with this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes which you can find here - http://www.flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/
The challenge was to make something for one of the women in your life and to use pink because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I know several people with Breast Cancer - my Mom had her surgery 2 years ago now but thankfully didnot need chemo or radiation.
Then I saw the sketch over at CPS and decided to use that - I usually need some help when I have to use pink (its not a color I chose very often).
You can find the sketch here - http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

I used a flourish backround from Flourishes for the card base and the nestie die cut later both stamped in brown ink.
The main image is from My Favorite Things and is colored with copics - also cut with a nestie, and edged with gold mettalic pen.
The little pearl on the ribbon is a brad.
All for today - gotta try and get some grub going for the fam ....
