Without being able to get into my studio to paint, the basket making has kinda taken over!!!
This one is about 7 inches round and 4 tall.

Haven't been able to get in my studio to paint lately so my hands have been busy in the evenings while watching TV - mainly Nebraska Girls Volleyball, Husker Football, cooking shows and a movie or 2....
Inspired by trip to Hobby Lobby and the bazillion PINK Christmas decorations this year.
I used a seashell slice for the base, paper coil and cotton cording. The one took me about 6 hours - ish to do.

Tried something new with this basket to make the triangles - it is a fun little pattern, not too complicated but looks cute.
This basket is 7- and 3/4-inches round and 3 and 1/2 inches tall.
I am not going to blab much tonight, getting late and I made this basket with the basic coiling techniques same as all the others... 😁
Have a great evening!!!

My Mom and Sister came to visit for the weekend, last weekend, and amid going to garage sales and an Art Festival we took one afternoon, and I showed them how to make these baskets. They both caught on very quickly and I think my Mom now has a new hobby (maybe my Sister too).
I started this one with a seashell slice for the base.
Later as the day went on we watched the Husker Volleyball girls win another match!!!
We also went to Hobby Lobby and Micheals the next day and I was tempted by some Christmas style cording so you will see a couple of those soon too.

Another basket for you this morning. This one was done on a slightly bigger plate than yesterdays - 8-inch plate.
The finished basket is 4 inches tall and 12 inches round.
Not sure if this one is hand painted or not - the image feels like it, not smooth like a printed one....
My Mom claimed this basket too. She and my Sister were here to visit last weekend and we kept pretty busy - went to an Art festival in Pensacola, a bunch of garage sales one morning and as a result of teaching them how I make my baskets - a trip to Hobby Lobby and Michaels( I think my Mom now has a new hobby - no I know where I get my tendency to collect hobbies :)

I am not getting much painting done these days - my studio space is very cluttered and is getting a big make over the weekend after Christmas.
So another basket for you today - my Mom claimed this one as soon as I finished it. I used a vintage hand painted decorative plate - the kind folks used to hang on their walls for decoration. The second picture shows the signature and the date it was painted.
All for today but more baskets to come....I happened into Michaels the other days and bought more cording with the idea turning in my head for a couple Christmas baskets, so stay tuned.
