Ribbon Rose

Hallo,
I can't seem to find the energy to get moving this am - I am dragging myself around the house by the scruff of the neck ... I have managed to go for a walk and get a couple loads of laundry washed and hung out on the line.
I have also been looking at emails - the newest issue of 'Technique Junkie' newsletter was up 2 days ago and boy everyone have been busy trying out all the new techniques - I worked the last 2 days and hadn't even had the energy tro check my eamil when I got home so this am when I went to look I had about 60!!!
So since I am online anyway - I emailed Mom - Hi MOM!!! and now getting you some stuff to look at today too - HI YA'LL!!!
This is one of my cards from earlier in the week, playing with more blackboard technique.
The rose is from Inkadinkado and I shaded it with my prismacolor pencils, layers cut with my nesties in the cuttlebug.
All for today - going to see if I can get some errands done so I can try out some new techniques today...

Chalkboard Rose

Hallo,
Working again today - doesn't leave me much time for blogging with 12 hr. shifts but have preposted this for ya.
This card is done with an old SU rose stamp, stamped onto black cardstock with white craft ink, heat set and then colored with prismacolor pencils - lightly so the black kinda shows through (it does IRL) sorta like a blackboard effect.
I cut the layer with one of my labels dies from Spellbinders in my Cuttlebug, edged it with white and added some pearly brads for accent.
I also edged the red base cardstock with white, and added a piece of old white trim found at an estate sale.
All for today - Take Care

Pink Lily

Hallo,
I am at work at my 'real' job today so will leave you a card to look at.
Using the same stamp and techniques as yesterdays card only with different colors. I wasn't too sure about combining the pink on navy with the brown but the more I look at it - its growing on me....
I added faux stitching with a pink gel pen. Used my new Spellbinders labels dies to make the layers.
Stamp is from Inkadinkado, colored with prismacolor pencils.
All for today

Yellow Lily

Hallo,
Another busy day running in circles...but I did manage to put together some cards. Last thursday when my local Stampin ladies and I got together I stamped up a bunch of flowers with white craft ink - mostly on black paper but did some on navy blue and dark red too.
Over the weekend I colored them on the couch after work in the evenings, so all I really had to do was put them together - got 2 of them mostly done yesterday and 3 more today. I am planning on using these as Valentines cards (yes I know - no red or pink anywhere on this one - I'm a rebel sometimes).
This first card is an Inkadinkado lily stamped with white craft ink onto navy cardstock and colored with prismacolor pencils - I tried not to geet too heavy so the backround would show through a little to preserve the 'blackboard' effect.
The layers are cut using my new labels dies from Spellbinders using my Cuttlebug. I edged the navy layer with white and the medium yellow with brown ink - brown ink on the dark yellow base too.
Added a yellow trim I found at some estate sale.
Very quick card to do.

Spring camelias

Hallo,
Since I likely won't get any craft items done in time today to take pics of, I decided to get some quick photos of my Camelia bushes out front - we have 2. The are very bright pink with double ruffled blooms - except for this one little bloom I found near the bottom - but I think he is pretty too.
I had a doctors appt. this am which was very frustrating because they booked me to someone who can only do the exam (you know that yearly female thing) but I also needed blood work, prescriptions refilled and had wanted some feedback on some shtuff - yup spelled correctly shtuff....
So once the first part was done I had to go back and do some 'strong negotiating' to get my prescriptions refilled and lab work done. I guess that the other shtuff will have to wait until I can manage to get another appointment (about 2 months average).
Once the 3 plus hour am doctors appointment was done, I had several errands to run and got back home in time to take my DD to her dentist (braces) appointment. I am hoping to get some craft table time when I get home.

Designer Pink

Hallo,
Off work today and I had time to go play with some of my Stamping buddies!!! We meet a couple times a month and just bring stuff to work on - the stuuf I brought to work on today I will have to finish up to show you on monday.
Showing you today some more projects I did with the pink sheet of 'Faux Designer Paper' technique from technique junkies.
This first card I cut ovals out of the FDP and brown cardstock and cut a label from the FDP, edged them all with gold krylon and layered them on top of pink ribbon to brown cardstock with some pink and green baubles for accents.

I really love this technique - it allows me to customize the backround paper and can be used for anything. Makes up some really quick cards!!!!
And wait till you see the journal I did for tomorrow :)

This card took just a little more time - the rose (SU) was stamped 3 times and the petals of 2 of them cut and layered to the first(with foam tape). The leaves I colored in with prismacolor pencils but the texture of the FDP still shows through the green - cool!!!
I then layered the rose onto ovals cut with nesties in my cuttlebug, edged with gold krylon, layered on top of pink ribbom to brown cardstock.
The phrase is from 'Gina K - Kindred phrases for her'.
All for today - gotta run pick up the kids from swim team practice. I am preposting for tomorrow as I will be working - so Have A Great Weekend and I will see you on the other side on monday!!!

Faux designer paper cards

Hallo,
I am preposting for today so I can get my chores done early tomorrow and head for the craft room. The DH will be back to work, DD/DS with be back in school so I will have the day to myself. I have some more yard work to do and some house cleaning before I can head for the craft room.
Here are some more projects using the Faux Designer Paper - the yellow sheet (tomorrow I should have some stuff made with the pink sheet). I did 4 cards, all pretty much the same layout and stamps but I changed up the store bought DP. (K&Company - I believe)
I used the cuttlebug to cut the ovals with my nesties and the decorative corners.
The stamps of the FDP are all Inkadinkado and the phrase is from Gina K.

I love how you can get many different looks from one sheet of FDP.
All for today.

Spring Purse

Hallo,
I got some craft time this weekend just not enough to take photos , edit and post. I forsee me not posting much on weekends over all (unless I am preposting ). Since I have only every other weekend off, my weekend off is usually busy with family - from an early am walk with the DH and the pooch, yard work and/or projects (be they be house, yard or kids school projects) and I usually get talked into a game of RISK, or mini golf down the road aways....I have decided not to stress over it if I can't manage a weekend post. That said - I should be able to post most weekdays as a bonus.
Over the weekend I pulled out some of the Faux Designer Paper (Technique Junkie technique) from some time back and accually make up some stuff with it.
The pattern for this purse is testiment to why I hoard my magazines - the pattern was in an issue of Paper Crafts - Aug/Sept of 2006. I 'refound' it when I was sorting through magazines trying to declutter my craft room a bit :).
All stamps are from Inkadinkado. I added another of the birds in brown ink on the front as an accent. The beaded trim and the scrap of ribbon were on my desk from different projects .
Thats all for the craft stuff today - since the weather is nice I am going to go pull more weeds in the flowerbeds (already spent 2 hrs. out there this am). My spring Burbee, and other plant catalogs have arrived and its kinda my self imposed rule that I can't order until my flower beds are cleaned up. We may not have to shovel snow down here in florida but the weeds grow year round (lucky for me they grow a little slower in the winter).
All for today - Take Care

Not quite Navy ink, kraft, navy, white cardstock and a scarp of vellum.

Hallo,
While I was playing with my peerless watercolors I did several of these moths from Gina K http://www.ginakdesigns.com - I colored this one pretty much the same as yesterdays cut him out and edged him with the gold krylon again - and used the last of the scrap of beading cord for the antenna.
I still had the white craft ink out so I used it on the floilage (also Gina K - as is the phrase).
I used several shades of yellow for the cardstock and added some orange baubles at the last minute as the card looked like it needed just a smidgen bit 'more'.

All for tonight - I am off work again tomorrow and hope to play a bit again - the kids have their 3rd swim meet tomorrow after school.

Chalkboard Butterfly

Hallo,

I had a little time and energy for the craft room today (it was almost a hard choice between craft room and going back to bed - busy weekend at work and only one day off and back to work tomorrow).

I have been seeing this technique lately and decided to try it. First I used one of my square nestabilities and just embossed the square - then I masked the edges and stamped the flowers, phrase and the butterfly (moth accually - i see now) all in white craft ink and heat set to dry.

Once dry I took my white koh i noor pencil and added shading to the flowers and the moth.

All the stamps are from Gina K http://www.ginakdesigns.com/

The colored moth is stamped onto watercolor paper with memento ink and watercolored with Peerless watercolors - I recieved a pack in my cruise goodie bag back in october and hadn't played with them since the cruise - except to order a bigger packet from MFT so I had more colors :). They are really easy to use!!!

I cut the moth out and edged it with my gold krylon pen. The antenna I had cut off so I replaced them with a scrap of beading cord with a knot on the end (it was about a 6 inch scrap laying on my desk from a differnt project).

I liked the way this one turned out - I may have to make a batch to have a few on hand....
Well thats all for tonight - more to show you tomorrow.
