Swell MFT

Hallo,
Short note and only one card to show ya - I made this for DH's niece who is newly expecting. I combined 3 stamp sets from 'My Favorite Things' for this card - those cows are soooo cute (one cow on repeat mode :).
The rest of the pics are 2 of my early bloomers in the flower beds - it's an Iris called 'eye of the tiger' and they are the first of my iris to bloom - the third pic shows one with a puddle of dew in his center. I LOVE Iris - I don't get great blooms down here in florida - iris like a little more cold weather than we get ....

Inchie sketch

Hallo,
The sketch I used for todays cards is from Jen at http://www.iheart2stamp.com/ and inspired me to try doing some inchies - which I have been meaning to do for awhile.
This first picture has 3 inchies with birds from Stampin Up, the big bird is from Martha and I also used a backrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. Colored with my prismacolors, edged with a brown sharpie marker and the little amber colored baubles are from Stampinbella.
The second card uses all the same stuff except the backrounder which gives it a very different look. The third and 4th photos are close ups of the second card.
Not too verbose today - gotta get a shower and am helping out at the Medieval Fest at the Middle School today - might get a little stamping time this afternoon. I work tomorrow but I saved a card to show ya - after tomorrow I have 11 days off !!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is spring break for the kids and we are finishing my DD's room, doing some spring cleaning and probably a trip to Mobile Al., to the science center (my kids love the science center and they have a really good exhibit right now).

Mary Jo's sketch

Hallo,
I have another sketch to show ya today - same stamp as yesterday but with a different sketch. This sketch is from Mary Jo
http://www.technostamper.blogspot.com

I also used my cuttlebug with the swirls on the back panel - same paper as the strip along the bottom of yesterday's card and the embellishment is a dried flower from my Mom's extensive flowers in her yard.
The third picture is a close up. Although it is hard to tell one of the pots had swirls on it - that is why I chose that cuttlebug folder.
All for tonight - home from work late once again.....couch is calling... :)

CPS sketch #57

Hallo,
I managed to get a good bit of stamping done today - 5 cards, 4 for sketches and one for DH's neice.....
This card is for CPS sketch #57. The stamp is from 'Stamps on Fire' and it is colored with my prismacolor pencils. The main image is edged with cooper Krylon and then with my tracing wheel rolled over cabin fever Adarondack ink. I didn't have any cooper brads and almost pulled out the cooper embossing powder but instead tried the krylon pen and with a very quick heat set it worked very nicely!!!
I will show you the rest of today's handiwork over the next couple days as I work tomorrow and friday - and thursday I won't get much stampin done as I am volunteering at the Middle School's Medieval Fest...

Karla's Irish tag swap

Hallo all,
I spent a bunch of time at the craft table today but it's for an ATC swap for me to send out next week so can't show them right now. But I did do one small project that I can show you but not today...
Today I want to show you the tags I got from Karla's Irish tag swap - got them yesterday (I worked). http://www.karlascottage.typepad.com
This first tag doesn't have a name on it :( but it is beautiful with so much to look at - both sides are decorated!!!! The first picture is the front and the second is the back. Lots of texture, shades of green and sparkle.
The second tag is made by Elizabeth Beuford and is also very beautiful - the image is of a pretty Irish lass with lots of fringe on the ribbon, glitter, small flowers and more sparkle!!! The last photo is a close up of the second tag.
Here's the link back to the tags I made for the swap - http://www.stampqueen.blogspot.com/2008/03/recent-swaps.html

All for today - I'll have a short note with a pic tomorrow but I work the next 3 days in a row (12 hr. shifts ) so no craft room time for me until monday....
Have a good weekend ya'll

Altered marbles

Hallo,
Just a quick note - didn't get much done in the craft room today. Started these flat glass marbles for my DD yesterday and finished them today. We are redecorating her room during spring break the end of this month. She wants to paint one of her closet doors with magnetic paint - then paint a month calender on it - these marbles will mark out the number days.
In the first photo I applied bright colors (matching some from her new room colors) and put them direct to paper, stamped over them with this funky stamp from the folks over at Rubber Nature http://www.rubbernatureartstamps.com/.
With the second photo I punched out squares - and in the third photo glued them to the back of the marbles with Chrystal Laquer.
After they had dried - we glued magnets to the backs and wrote the numbers on top with a zig gold marker.
The next "room" project with be altering a light switch plate with the same stamp and coloring it with colored pencils in similar colors - we tried markers but they didn't look too good....
All for tonight

Challenge and Sketch

Hallo,
Only one card to show you today but its a duo purpose one. Vickie http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com challenged us to make a card from a packet she made up for us and this is what I came up with. The image and patterned paper are from 'Crafty Secrets - Heartwarming Vintage"
This card works for Beates' weekend sketch
also. http://www.beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com
I used sepia laquer from Ranger on the picture and then a little Glimmer Mist on the backround paper and the ribbons to pick up the tones of the sepia. I did the sepia thick enough to crack a little when it dried for an old fashioned cracked glass look. I edged the picture and the green layer under the picture both with cooper krylon and cut the corners out with my cuttlebug from the same green paper.
The second photo shows a close up of the one corner so you can see the cracks, and the third photo shows the other corner - showing the ribbon more.

I also started another project - making magnets out of flat marbles - that I will start showing you pics of tomorrow.

Twisted Chick ATC swap

Hallo,
Didn't get any stamping done today - we had a garage sale until noon and then lunch and then to check out an Auction I may go to tomorrow, and then took the kids to gamestop so they could buy their new game for the Wii - "Guitar Hero" and that took pretty much all of my day. BUT - while I was sitting out front at our garage sale I took pics of the ATC's I got with my swap this week :) - so am showing you those tonight. Hope to have something of mine to show you tomorrow.
The first photo shows 3 ATC's - Pam'shttp://www.indigostudio-4hounds.blogspot.com/ , Cheryl Stowe's - aka Stoweawaymemories at SCS, and Tiffany http://www.thecraftygoddess.com/.
The second photo shows 3 ATC's from Beth Matson - aka ematson on SCS, Dana at http://www.kismetartlife.blogspot.com/ and Kim - aka Stampaholic17 at SCS.

The third photo shows 2 ATC's from Lynn at http://www.justfeenie.blogspot.com/ and from Janine at http://www.2bkrafty.blogspot.com/ .
Last but not least - the fourth photo shows ATC's from our Hostess herself Michelle athttp://www.twisted-chick.blogspot.com/ and April at http://www.aprilhall.blogspot.com/

Thank-you Ladies for all the wonderful ATC's. Really looking forward to Round 2 :).
Here's the link to my ATC for this swap - http://www.stampqueen.blogspot.com/2008/03/recent-swaps.html

56th Annual Fairhope Craft Fair

Hallo
The gals and I had a great day shopping - I will take some pics of what I bought tomorrow as we got back too late tonight.
We left around 8 am and got back around 630 pm - looked like we were going to get rained on but we didn't (not at the craft fair anyway - did while driving). Just a couple pics of stuff we saw today - lots of beautiful metal work, pottery, jewerly, paintings and tons of other stuff too.
First pic is of metal wall ornaments, second is a booth with beautiful statues - the Eagle was about 3 feet tal with about that in the wingspan. Third pic is some paintings and the 4th is some crochet blankets that are layered with different colors and shapes to be a 3-D picture.

We also made a stop at a thrift shop on the way out of town - found some crochet hooks for my Mom and some old "Work Baskets" also for Mom. The shop had a special - fill a paper grocery sack for 5 dollars - all 3 of us threw stuff in and we split the cost :) - I ended up with a good handful of buttons, ribbon, and trim as well as some picture frames.
All for tonight

Mr. Fixit

Hallo,
Just one lonely little card tonight that I saved. I suvived another stretch of days to work and now have 5 off - YIPPPEEE!!!!!!!
And tomorrow is - Road Trip - I am going to Fairhope Alabama to a big Arts and Crafts fair. Its a really good one and my friends and I try to go every year!! It's looking like we might get rained on though and its all outside - maybe we'll get lucky!!
This card of course comes with a story - my DS was caught in just this position at age 2 and 1/2 (he's now almost 12) trying to get the lid off the toilet to "fix" it after he tried to flush a toy and it got stuck and over flowed the toilet :).
The little boy stamp is from 'Art Impressions" , the toilet and plunger is from Gina K's "Way to Go" set (such a fun set!!), and the tools are unmarked but they are either CTMH or Stampin UP.
All for tonight. I will have pics from an ATC swap I did soon - tomorrow if the weather cooperates - and maybe some pics from the Craft fair.
