Sweet Sketch Journal

Hallo, I started out telling you about my day but decided to leave that for last in case you want to skip my whining... :) My project today is an altered sketch journal - I covered it with DP on the inside anb outside of both the front and back covers and then decorated the front cover. This sweet little fairy is from Sweet Pea Stamps and is colored with copics and spica glitter pens.I cut her out with a Spellbinders labels die and layered her to another slightly larger die. I edged the main panel in gold metallic pen. The butterfly wings behind her are done with a stencil and some glimmer mist. I added some punched glitter flowers with pearl centers. I am entering her in 2 challenges - first is for 'punches' over at Sweet Pea Stampers - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com/ And second is for In A Sweet Pea Dream challenge for 'spring' - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ Be sure to check them both out!!!! Ok now for the story of my day/my whining.... Well it's a good thing I had productive craft time last week because this week sure isn't shaping up too well - worked mon/tues nights, slept alot yesterday, spent alot of time yesterday trying to sort out my computer and this am ended up taking the computer back for another round of fixin.....(turns out I must have misunderstood the DH when he said he would take care of getting the wireless router encrypted......well it wasn't and my laptop was promptly hijacked once again which means I also get to change all my passwords AGAIN too...) Anyhoo so that is what I did this am - take computer in, go for a walk, get some groceries, spend a bunch of time trying to figure out the router...gave up...back to spend a bunch more time and finally got it encrypted......then this afternoon I had a class at work to 'learn' about all the new computer changes coming soon.... A bit of time changing passwords and I should get about an hour in the craft room yet...so off I go.... Take Care Tera

Sweet Spring

Hallo, Well I have my laptop back and dehijacked.....but all my files are in total disarray....its going to take a whole bunch of time to dig out all the files and put them back in some sort of order..... Todays project started out as a card but then I spotted this sweet little frame that I found at a thrift shop and it just had to be!!!! The rubber stamp is one of my new ones from Sweet Pea Stamps - colored with prismacolor pencils, a bit of layering, a couple little punched flowers, some purple trim/lace and some matching yellow rhinestones.... I am entering her in 2 challenges - First is for "In a Sweet Pea Dream" for their current 'spring' challenge here - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com Second challenge is for 'punches' over at "Sweet Pea Stampers" blog here - http://www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
Well I had better get back to the hunt.....hunting out files and putting them back in order that is....

Yellow Roses

Hallo, A short note tonight before I go to work....preposting this for the am as its going to be a busy night and my typing turns to gibberish after a 12 hour night shift :). I didn't even check email when I came home this am - gasp... imagine that.....it felt so good to snuggle into my bed, sweet old meow purring me to sleep from her spot beside my pillow....all the windows open to let in the cool spring air - alright I had better stop because now I want to go back to bed...... More flowers from Flourishes today - colored with prismacolor pencils. I cut the main panel with a Spellbinders Labels die and edged it with gold mettalic pen. Well gotta get myself off to work.... Have a great Tuesday!!!! Take Care Tera

Have Faith

Hallo,
Ahhh saturday afternoon......it is a wonderful 75 degrees and mostly sunny....I did about 2 hours of yard work this am - mostly planting the plants I got at Lowes yesterday.....still have one spot in a side flower bed that I need to firgure out what I want to do with it and maybe a couple more plants for the porch .....
My computer is with an expert getting fixed - all my photos and files are intact in there (what I took 4 days trying to find the guy at the computer place literally took about 5 keystrokes to find.....). I should have my laptop back on monday....
Old Meow is doing well - don't know why she was so puny earlier in the week but she seems to be doing fine now....

Todays card is for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes - www.flourishes.org/blog/
The challenge this week was for 'masking' - easy peasy....
I used 2 different sets from Flourishes and masked off the cup and stamped the flowers into it. The dots in the background is also a stamp in the set with the cup - I used weathered wood distress ink, and stamped off lightly before stamping around the main image - which was also masked BTW...
It was all colored with copics, cut with a Spellbinders die, edged with the darker copic marker that I used on the flowers, layered to a scrap of yellow flowered DP from the pile nearest my desk (if you are thinking that implies more than one pile.....you are correct... :) and finally all of that to a kraft card base.
I have a little blog surfin to do then a bit of time in the craft room before cooking super.....
I don't post very often on the weekend but will have another Flourishes card for you tomorrow I believe.....

Sketchy Blog Hoppin'

Hallo and Welcome to another Gina K CSS blog hop!!!!!
It was dicey whether I was going to make it tonight....My computer went cafunk on Monday and I lost all my files.....thought Iwas looseing my hard drive(either that or someone hijacked my computer) and I have been fighting it all week trying to find and save files - did my cards and loaded them to DH's computer so I could get them here tonight....turns out someone hijacked my computer after all - good news is all my family photos and blog files are safe, hate the fact that someone had acsess to all of my laptop but the good thing that there isn't anything finacial on it, I don't even do any online banking which is a good thing in this case.
All right now that I made it here and my computer is being debugged LET'S HOP !!!!
If you want to start at the begining of the hop, go here - www.stamptv.ning.com
If you are following along then you came to me from Sue Morris's blog - http://suessentiments.com/wordpress/?p=5271 where I am sure she had some great stuff to show you!!!
I am the last in line again but be sure to leave comments along the way because Gina is giving away a FREE STAMP SET to one lucky commenter!!!
For our blog hop this time we are using a sketch from the fabulous Melissa Cash who is snowbound and without power as I type (for the last SEVERAL days in fact - akkkk) so send her some warm thoughts and electrical wishes tonight!!!!
I am also using the newest color spotlight challenge colors - which really was a challenge for me!!!!!
In amonst computer woes and a sick old meow (who is feeling much better BTW - just a 2 day slump I guess...she is 20 years old and rather frail these days....) I managed to get 3 cards done :) I must have needed the stress relief :)

My first 2 cards use the 'Sew Pretty' set.
I paper pieced the aprons and colored the rest of her with copics. I am not too sure about my darker skin tones....I don't do them often but have been trying to every now and then.
My last card uses the 'Mugs and Kisses' set along with an older set called 'Friends are Forever"
I did turn the sketch vertical for all 3 cards...tried to do one horizantal and I couldn't get it to look right so reowrked it.....
Well that's about it for tonight - going to see about getting some dinner ready and relax with my copics and pencils on the couch. I have a full day of planting and yard work planned for tomorrow - made my first trip to Lowes for the season and true to form am working on my first 'planting frenzy' (I don't garden so much as have big planting sprees - hence the 'panting frenzy')
I am planning on limiting myself to just one round this year because we have a busy summer planned and I have a hard enough time keeping up with the weeds here in the hot/humid/Florida summers....
....a bit talkative tonight aren't I ... :)

Floral box

Hallo,
I am having some serious issues with my laptop - hopefully they will be able to save my photos - (cross your fingers and say a little prayer) - looks like my harddrive is dying......
I had something else planned to show you today but ran out of time to try and load the new card......not even sure the computer will let me.....
I managed to get some errands done today, some housework and a bit of yard work too....tomorrow will be just as busy, more errands and housework, but hopefully some craft time too.....
Todays project is an altered cigar box and is going out tomorrow am as a Birthday gift.....not telling who, don't think she stops in here much but just in case.....
I covered the box with pretty papers and lined the inside with felt and an old lace doilly. The main image on the top is a rubber stamp from Flourishes and is colored with copics, cut with a Spellbinders labels die and edged with a gold mettalic pen.....
Come back tomorrow night for a Gina K/Stamp TV blog hop (I will probably have to load my camera and the photoshop to DH's computer tomorrow am so wish me lots of luck!!!!) - Gina is giving away a free stamp set to one lucky person - just leave comments along the blog hop and 1 will be chosen at random.
All for tonight - Take Care

Hallo,

I did this card for a contest over at Sweet Pea stamps . I would really appreciate you popping over and voting for me!!!! Only 3 of us will go to the next round .
The link for the next round of voting is HERE - www.sweetpearubberstamps.blogspot.com/p/stamp-off-challenge-2-entries.html
This round of voting ends Friday evning at 9 pm - there are lots of beautiful cards to look at .....my entry is pictured in this post (#7 BTW :)

The second round challenge was to use a fancy fold and lots of bling - 'make the card the present'

I just realized that I had used this same image for round 1 also - I really do like her alot!!! Besides - she looks totally different here!!!!

She is colored with copics and spica glitter pens on her wings, the butterflys and the gold on the pedastal.

I then cut out a bunch of flowers and layered them with a pearl brad for the centers and attatched them to the various folds of the card. I really liked how she came out.

All for today folks - I worked last night and now need to get a bit of sleep before running errands this afternoon.

Hallo,
I have had a great stamping weekend!!! I got alot done - My MIL's Birthday present is done and waiting to be sent and got a 'sweet' project done for a contest over at Sweet Pea Stamps (stop by on wednesday for that one so you can help me get to the next round by voting for me!!!!).
I did also manage to get just a little housework and a little yard work done too so not too bad. I do need to do more of both though - but not today, its about time for me to get a nap before getting ready for work tonight!!!
Todays card was done last week for a contest over at Stamp TV and uses all Gina K stamps.
The base layer is a light cream cardstock embossed with a texture folder - then I swiped it lightly with embossing ink and embossed with gold powder.
The next 2 stamped layers are also embossed with gold onto cream cardstock - then sponged lightly with antique linnen distress ink, edged with a gold mettalic pen and layered to gold cardstock. I added a pretty gold ribbon between the layers.

All for today - naptime for me!!!

Purple Clementis

Hallo,
I did these 2 cards for this weeks Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 109 challenge. The challenge was to include a butterfly - that was easy :) I used one of my favorite newer sets from Flourishes called 'Butterflies and Blossums'
Both are colored with copics - accually they are both colored with exactly the same colors except for the backgrounds - I colored the background on the first one with very light bluegreens and the second was colored with very light yellows.
It still amazes me sometimes that simple little changes like the background color and different DP can change the look of the card so much!
Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I did manage to get a little housework done, a long walk, groceries but the rest of the day was craft room.... :).
Tomorrow I am headed to Fairhope Alabama for their big Arts and Craft fair - my chief enabler and maybe a couple others - we go every year, Tons of great stuff!!!

All for tonight :)
Take care
Tera

Precious Baby

Hallo,
Just a quick little post today - trying to wake up a bit....worked last night and need to try and get some stuff done today so got up early.
I finished this gift box and memory book up last week - its up on the Etsy shop now.
The box is a cigar box that I covered with DP and the memory book is a chipboard book covered with the same DP's.
The set also includes some little onsies and buttons cut from the same DP's to decorate the pages with once the photos are in place, and a gift card.
The stamp on in the main image is from My Favorite Things - paper pieced and colored with copics. I just LOVE that stamp - it is soooo sweet!!!!
The button die is also from MFT.
Other dies include Spellbinders and Tim Holtz tattered flowers, and the letters are Cuttlebug.

All for today - off for a walk and some yard work!!!! The weather is AWSOME today!!!!!

Feelin' like spring

Hallo,
Boy and I sleepy this am - for some reason my second night working has been my hardest to stay awake lately - last night no exception, even though I slept really well.
My 2 cards today go with the gift box from yesterday. Stamps are from Flourishes and both colored with copics.
I went clean and simple with these and tried to use scraps of DP from bedside my desk.....
I used a Spellbinders die for each main image and edged it with gold mettalic pen.
All for this mornin' - time to sleep.
