Layered Joy

 Hallo,
Its time for another challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers and this time the challenge is - 'lots of layers'.
I used a Sweet Pea stamp by Conie Fong called 'Joy to the world' and colored him with prismacolor pencils.
I had some sticker ornaments that I used for a layer or 2 and a chipboard snowflake (I just noticed that my snowflake has lost a rhinestone.....sigh)
Isn't he just the cutest little penguin!!! I am slowly building up my stash of Christmas cards too  :)
                Have a great weekend!!!!

A Hooty night

 Hallo,
Boy has it been quiet around here - with both the kids and the hubby gone it is almost too quiet!!!! My puppy is really missing the kids - but she is making sure I get my morning walks :)
I have been busy in the craft room even if I haven't posted much here this week. I am working ahead on DT commitments and scheduling posts for those.
I am hoping to be really busy in September (or October - or both) with my newest addiction - encaustic wax painting. I have studio space spoken for but the building isn't ready yet, so I have to just be patient :)
Today I have a card for you using 'Hooty so in love' by Concetta Kilmer - a Sweet Pea image that you can get as a digi or as a rubber stamp.
I colored them with prismacolor pencils and kinda added in the moon behind them. The phrase is a rub on from my stash (probably about 6 to 7 years old by now.....)
I used gray cardstock and covered it with a gray lace ribbon and then added some red roses to match the flowers in the image. And lastly some silver pearl drops with a viva décor pen.
All for tonight - gotta get up early in the am for my walk before it gets too hot - and it has been getting HOT very fast in the morning this week - waaay too hot for me out there lately!!!!

Morning walk

 Hallo,
Just a quick post before I am off to work for the night - I took these pictures this morning on my walk with Miss Kyna (my puppy).
Believe it or not they were taken with my phone - I was tempted once I got home to go back with my 'good' camera but  I was hot and didn't feel like it (very HOT and muggy, very early this am) and it turns out I really didn't need to for these 3 pics anyhow.....
If the clouds are good again though I will have to go back and  shoot more - love how these turned out!!!!
Didn't get much done in the craft room the last couple days except clean but just wait till my next day off and I am going to create up a storm.... :)
  All for today

Wild Heart Halloween

 Hallo,
I know I haven't posted much this summer but the end is near - my kiddos leave for college in just a couple days and I will have more time in the craft room (and more room in my house - boxes everywhere right now :)
My DH is driving up to Nebraska with them this year so aside from work next week I am totally on my own - me and the puppy and the 2 cats that is :).
Another Sweet Pea Stamps creation for you today for Halloween. I used Charity Dunhauer's "Wild Heart" and colored her with copics. It was a fun little project.
All for today - ran too many errands and now I think I will need a nap.

A rug for off to college

 Hallo,
I haven't actually gotten in my craft room much lately - with my DD in there and this rug to finish before the kids go off  to college, and the packed bags and boxes sitting everywhere.....
I started this rug for my son to take to college with his - started it in May I believe and mostly worked on it in the evenings - a couple hours at  time until this last month where I have worked on it more in the daytime too.
It measures 33 inches by 57 inches - so almost a yard wide by little over a yard and 1/2 long.
Its make from a fabric called 'interlock or interlocken' and feels like a thinner soft knit. Someone I meet at the fabric store one day had a bunch of leftovers of this material from her creative endeavors and didn't know what to do with it all - the fabric is a bit more on the expensive side but her scraps weren't big enough for any of her projects. She ended up giving me all her scraps - mostly red and black but a bunch of white too - I have enough after this rug to make at least another the same size and probably a smaller one too....... First I have to finish off a rug for a Christmas present and then I may go back and make another like this one....the interlock is very easy to work with for the rugs and should be pretty durable too.....guess we will find out after my DS tests it out in his dorm room for awhile :)
All for now - I need to try and get some more sleep before work tonight - haven't been sleeping well lately.......

Summer sweetheart - Thinking of You

Hallo,
Its another challenge from Sweet Pea Stampers today (I missed the last one - summer caught up to me I guess - that and trying to get my 2 kiddos ready for college... :)
Our challenge this time is "Thinking of you/Missing you .
I used a Ching Chou Kuik image called 'Toadstool Fascination' and colored her with prismacolor pencils. I just love the look on her face - you cant help but be drawn to her eyes.
All for this am - I am pre-posting because I am working these last couple days - the 12 hour night shifts seem to be getting longer and longer!!!
   Have a great weekend!!!!
