Halloween Candy

Hallo,
One more card from my weekend play - This is the first day I have had off with the kids for Spring Break - except the weekend of course. We are making a run over to Mobile Alabama to the Science Center . They have an anamatronic Dinasaur exhibit there now so we thought we would check it out.
I did this card for the challenge in this issue of the Technique Junkies newsletter. The challenge was a sketch but we needed to use at least one TJ technique. I used 2 - one was Cling and Scrunch which are the orange and green pieces and the other backround is called Reverse Prints.
The main image is from Impression Obsession and colored with copics.

Soft Spring Impressions

Hallo,
Another quick post for you today - this is the other half of the Backround Burst Expasion technique from Technique Junkies that I did this weekend. This side produces a much softer, more subtle look to the backround.
The backround is done with a stamp from Impression Obsession, white craft ink and chalks.
I also used 2 pink ribbons, a clear flower and some DP cut with nesties and layered with a pearl brad to hold them together.
I also used the sketch from CPS for this week again

Briefcase Project

Hallo,
Well today is my 3rd 12 hour shift in a row and I am TIRED - glad its my last (at least for a couple days ) - I used to be able to do a bunch of these 12 hr. shifts in a row but not lately - does that mean I am getting old?
Any way I decided to show you pics of a briefcase that I am recovering. It was found at a thrift store and its in really good shape - except for scratches on the out side which I don't care about. This is a thicker briefcase - about 3 inches but as you can see in the photos - lots of room for files and such.
I started with the sheet of Faux Designer Paper that I made and made a bunch of copies.... Then I cut them up into random pieces - mostly triangles, and edged them with red distress ink.
The last pic for today is the beginings of my decoupage work to cover the briefcase. Once I have it covered I will seal with with acrylic sealer and then decorate it furthor - probably sealing it again after I decorate. I have plans for a sketchbook to match .

All for today - Thanks goodness its friday!!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!!

Faux Teapot

Hallo,
Another work day for me so am pre posting for you.
This card was done for this weeks FTTC59 challenge over at Flourishes - the challenge was to use something 'Faux' which is right up my alley most days. This card came out a bit more cluttered looking than I had in mind but over all I like it.
The backround paper is a scrap of a sheet that I did using the Faux Designer Paper technique from Technique Junkies. The backround was made with stamps from Inkadinkado, Stampin Up and Hanna Stamps.
The main image and phrase are both from Flourishes. Main image colored with copics. When I glued the teapot down it kinda faded into the backround so I first outlined hime in gray for shadows but that didn't help him to stand out - so I got a white gel pen and outlined him too and that helped define it a bit. My phrase didn't show up as well as I wanted either but I was out of crafting time for the day and the rest of the week (maybe get some time this weekend....)

Tomorrow I will show you the beginings of a bigger project that I have in works.

Eskimo Wishes

Hallo,
Another Christmas card for you today. I love these little Eskimos....I colored them with copics. I thought the backround looked kinda like northern lights.
I chose my colors from this weeks color challenge over at Stamp TV - www.stamptv.ning.com/ The colors were green and purple.
The phrase is from Gina K.
Lots of Spellbinders here too - labels, tags and a tiny snowflake.
All for today - workin' , workin', workin' for my stamp money.... :)

Spring Wedding

Hallo,
I have every window in the house open today - it is Beautiful outside. Should have done some yard work but was lazy - feels sooooo good to sit at the craft table with the fresh breeze wafting in and the sunshine through the window......
I did this card for this weeks challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil - www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com
The challenge was to use 3 punches, and one of Mo's images also of course. I used the MS lattice punch and 4 different spellbinders dies.
I accually did 2 cards for the challenge but liked this one best - even if my phrase got a bit wonkity.
I colored this while sitting on the couch last night (with colors to match the springish BG paper I wanted to use) and put it together this morning.
I used my copics. The dress was kinda an experiment - tried for an ivoryish color and then added some shadows with 2 shades of light pink.
The main image is from Mo's and the phrase is from Gina K.
I seem to be on a wedding kick lately.....

All for today - I work tomorrow but will have a pre-post for you, and hope to have more to pre post for you the rest of the week, depending on what I get done this afternoon...

Vintage pink wedding

Hallo,
Just a quick post today - my computer was being wonky and I spent a couple hours trying to unwonk it.....
I did this card yesterday - I have a co-worker getting married soon so I was trying for a vintage pink card to match her colors. I think I got close at least :).
The backround stamp is from Inpression Obsession and the cake, rings and phrase are from Gina K.
I stamped the backround and the phrase with distress inks and the cake is colored with copics.
I used this weeks sketch from CPS also - I added the ribbon as the card just needed a touch of something more....

All for today - hope to get a couple things done to show you tomorrow.....should do some house work......

Designer Kimono

Hallo,
Not working today but have a ton of stuff to get rolling today. Yard work, hair appointment, eye appointment, housework - and hopefully some time at the craft table.
Tomorrow a few of the gals and I are going over to Fairhope Alabama to their Arts and Craft Fair for the day. Its always alot of fun - lots of great stuff!!!
This card is similar to yesterdays with the backround and then I stamped the kimono on the Faux Designer Paper and cut it out, and popped it up. I did shade the folds a bit with a gray copic but it is hard to see.

Scenic China

Hallo,
Another quick post for you today - tuesday I had a bit of free time and made up 2 quick cards with some of the pile of oriental stamps I have laying out for another project.
This was super quick to do - stamped the red cardstock with the oriental writing in black.
Stamped the scene on white cardstock and colored in just a few little bits - just to highlight.
the stamp is an old one from PSX.
Stamped the teapot from Stampin Up also in black.

China girl

Hallo,

A quick little post today - I am at work today......

This card follows this weeks sketch from CPS which you can find here - http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

I used the first sheet of Faux Designer Paper from yesterdays post.

Stamped and embossed the Girl - from Stampin Up - in red, and then cut it out with a nesties label die. I edged it with gold mettalic pen. The red layer is torn and distressed a bit for more texture. The base cardstock was stamped with the oriental writing.

While going through my stash for something to embellish with, I came upon these 2 little red dominos and stamped on the back with white staz on. And a bit of gold cord added for good measure....

Birthday Butts

Hallo,
Quick little prepost for you today, as I am at work.....
Did this card last week as a Birthday card for one of my DD's friends.
The main image is from Mo's Digital Pencil - colored with copics and cut out.
The Zebra butts stamp is left over from the cigar box I did earlier this week so my DD asked me to put in on her friedns Birthday card :) - I don't know who made the stamp - its about 3 or 4 years old to me, unmounted and before I kept track of that kinda stuff (preblog....). Colored with copics also.

Lace and Tea

Hallo,
I am off to work today but will leave you with a little something I finished yesterday.
This is a card for a challenge over at Flourishes blog. They are celebrating the opening of their new web store all week with challenges. I am 2 for 2 so far but that just may be all I get done....I work the next 2 days and then teach a class at work on friday....
Anyhwoo check out the fun here - www.flourishes.org/blog and shop here - www.flourishes.org

This card morphed quite a bit from my original plan but I love the way it turned out. I was digging through my stash of old ribbons and trim and couldn't find the perfect ones.....then I remembered that I had the lace stamps. So the backround is stamped with 2 of the lace trims from the Flourishes set. I also stamped the green colored one on the edge of the main image too and then lined it up to the trim in the backround.
The main image was stamped in walnut distress ink and then colored with my copics. Wasn't sure how that was going to work but I was careful and the paper I was using is super absorbent so it sucked up alot of ink - which I think helped it not to smear. I wanted the walnut stain instead of my usual memento black for a more vintage look.

I was trying for peach colored roses and got a little more orangey than I wanted but it was the best I could get with about an hour of playing. Came up with a weird kinda copic combo too - for the roses I used YR61, YR02, R22 and E08. I got a very light peach using more of the flesh tones and mixing pink and orange but I wanted just a tensy bit darker and I got close to what I envisioned...
I used the R22 and E08 to color the pearls to match too.
The phrase is from Cornish Heritage Farms - www.cornishheritagefarms.com

Happy Fishin' Day

Hallo,
The rain seems to be holding off here for the moment so I think I am going to try and get some yard work done today....
I am going to use this card for 3 different challenges today - first being the one from Mo's Digital Pencil to use blue, brown and a neutral. The main image is from Mo's - colored with copics.
The second this weeks sketch from CPS - www.cardpostioningsystems.blogspot.com That is where I got the idea for the 3 circles - kinda a modified spotlight technique.

And the third challenge is todays from Flourishes - the Timeless Tuesday challenge #57 - to make a card full of celebration. And of course here we are celebrating Father's Day. The phrase on this card comes from Flourishes 'A Man's View' set. You can see what everyone else has to celebrate here - www.flourishes.org/blog
